So I got this book free from the author newsletter and was attracted to the cover then the blurb. I actually genuinely like the book but Mr. Tate I have conflicting emotions for. He is a mix of Christian Grey and Gideon Cross so his background and possessive nature are truly SERIOUSLY??? moments. The ending is definitely a cliffhanger so off to get book 2

Scarlett Rhodes a recent film school graduate from USC has her sights set on producing movies in Hollywood. Oliver Tate is a media billionaire owning Tate Studios one of the most power film studios in the industry. When Scarlett & Oliver have a chance meeting both of their lives change forever. Though neither of them know the other it doesn't take long before Scarlett understands just who Oliver is. Through his own manipulation Oliver sets in motion for their lives to collide at the Cannes film festival. But Scarlett doesn't like being handled, she likes depending on herself to be able to solve her life's struggles. Yet Scarlett & Oliver are both are hiding from their pasts & both have built walls around themselves that will take an extraordinary amount of patience & understanding to tear down.

This first installment of the Hot Hollywood series is an intense emotional ride you take with two very shut down emotionally characters. They have both allowed tragedies from their pasts to dictate how they live their lives & run from allowing others to truly know who they each are. Scarlett doesn't know how to let someone care deeply for her so she pushes & pulls Oliver to her. But Oliver's need for ultimate control leaving you feel like you've been on a roller coaster ride with their challenges to get close. This book is meant for mature readers.

light fluffy and a very easy read. I read this on a plane which was pretty ideal. It was not complex, it was not unexpected and it did have issues. I liked the main character Scarlett who fancied she was a lot more worldly than it turns out. I had a few more issues with her love interest but in the spirit of lightness I let it slide for a quick moving easy story. Oliver is a not a complex character and not necessarily as likeable as I would like.

Some of the minor characters also didn't ring true for me either - a bit too shallow. I was happy enough that nothing to deep was happening (regardless of the title!). Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed.

This book kept me on the fence throughout the read. I wanted to like it more. The obsessive side of Oliver and his entire persona just left me unnerved me. Then you have Scarlet who is not half as mature as she appears. Instalove is hard for me but when there are so many alarms going off about one of the people it just doesn't work for me. These two have major issues and I might have enjoyed the story more if there was more story and less romping at least to round it off. I can't help it I actually liked the style of the writer and will most likely try another one of her books but then there is also the fact that I had such a strong reaction to the characters in the book and I finished it tells another story. I can tell you if you like a passionate sexy read this is most definitely for you.

So... this is a romance book, featuring Scarlet, who is about to graduate from college. She is producer and trying to film her first movie. She stumbles on Oliver Tate, billionaire and very powerful man in Hollywood.

The story has a lot faults, but is really enjoyable. Not the kind of book I usually read however I just flew through it. And I liked it.

Light summer beach book, with a lot of romance and at times a bit unbelievable plot. I enjoyed it nonetheless. :)

Happy reading!

I am not sure what I am missing here. I certainly didn't understand all of these glowing reviews about this book. For one thing, I hated Scarlett. She was too weak and immature, and a doormat! She let people walk all over. I didn't care for her friend Natalie's attitude either. Natalie came across as a hater with her snide and sarcastic tone. Always snidely judging or correcting Scarlett. And please don't get me started with Oliver. He can sex Scarlett out whenever, he pleased. But he wouldn't allow it to be reciprocated? And then he seemed to have a double standard. He wanted to know everything about Scarlett, but kept his baggage under wraps. Even when he admitted the piracy, it still seems as if he was hiding more stuff. I didn't like the back and forth with them either. One minute they're good, the next , they're off. Oliver knowing where's she at all times, knowing what's being said on her texts is a bit creepy. Can you say stalker? And Scarlett was never strong enough to really put him in his place. They tried to resolve their issues with sex, instead of talking like two adults should. There were also editing issues and inconsistencies as well. I can't honestly see myself going forward with this series. It was just plain ridiculous and unbelievable.

My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read. This series has a lot of potential. It is a crazy, intense, rollercoaster of emotions and drama. Had me in tears, which is not easy to do - she really gets you in the feels, character development is great, I may not be able to relate to the main character all the time, but it's only because I haven't experienced what she has. Some parts of the story are mismatched, I had to go back and make sure I read different parts correctly.

Wow ! Give me a fan please, talk about to much information, it certainly is not lacking in this book. This is the first book I have read by Madisyn Monroe, I don't leave spoilers, I try and review on how the author makes me keep turning the pages. The book is well defined and you able to identify quickly who the main characters are. You receive tidbits of information about the other characters as and when needed, that fits in perfectly with the storyline. The plots and story are seamlessly told, so you can envisage what and where you always are. To be honest at the beginning I found it abit hard to get past all the descriptive sex scenes as I felt That in the end they was Interrupting the storyline to much. The actual story I thought was really good and I am glad I persisted in continuing to read. Apart from the obvious sex, the story had insecurities, deceit, betrayal, secrets, lies but alongside the start of a love story, that will strengthen each of the main characters if they let it. Now we know each of the main characters anatomy's very well indeed, I'm hoping the next book in the series will concentrate more on the great storyline, obviously with abit of the nod, nod, wink, wink as this does have its purpose that the main characters hide behind. Madisyn also had a way with transferring the emotions of the characters into realistic feelings within you, and this is a talent not all authors have. Would I recommend this book. Absolutely. But if you are abit prudish in anyway, try and put that aside and look at the reasons beneath the actions.

Scarlett graduates and arrives in Hollywood with a screenplay and is focussed on getting it made into a movie, but to her great disappointment she can't find anyone who bites. Then she has a chance meeting with billionare Oliver Tate who just happens to be the most powerful man in Hollywood. He also happens to be gorgeous and almost impossible to resist. Oliver will produce her movie but it has a price - can love between them become a reward or a mistake?

This book is the start of a series and ends in a bit of a cliffhanger. I also contains adult scenes so we aware of that.

This was an enchanting tale of the start of a relationship between two damaged people that could easily fail just because of the damage that each of them have sustained in the past. It does howeer make Scarlett a bit neurotic at times which comes across as a bit odd. I have to admit to wanting to slap her and tell her to pull herself together!! I found it a little difficult to imagine she coped with college if she was like that normally. I did however enjoy the book and the writing was all good and the story completely understandable. I felt the emotions that the characters were experiencing and could empathise with them for most of the time. It will be interesting to see how the story develops and what adventures they have next.

Scarlett has a lot more going on then trying to get her script made into a Hollywood movie and Oliver has so much going on that I wonder if there anything that his money can't buy. To me, Oliver is possessive and controlling which is kind of creepy. He says the right things most of the time and is there for Scarlett but I didn't feel his love for her. I feel that Scarlett is so emotionally scarred that she's not ready for a real love relationship. They are a sexy couple and heat up the pages but something is off. This is a cliffhanger so the puzzle wasn't completed this round but it appears that their story is going to a whole new level with a dangerous element. There also seems to be something odd occurring with her best friends Cate & Natalie. Lastly this does get deep and I did find myself able to relate to Scarlett antics/reasoning on some levels.

Excellent contemporary romantic suspense with a cliffhanger. This book is part of a series of 4(?). The characters are well thought as well and developed because the reader gets more of their back stories as the book continues. Normally, I don't read books that have cliffhangers until I have the full set, personal preference. Scarlett has struggled through numerous tragedies to graduate college and desires to write movies. She runs into Oliver and there is a strong pull between them. Oliver is very wealthy and owns a studio. Unfortunately, he also comes with a dark and painful past. I enjoyed this part of the story and hope to read the other books someday. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review.

Madisyn is one of my new favorite authors. Scarlet and Oliver had me sucked in from the beginning. Quickly I became like a friend to both and wanted to tell them when they were being dumb and when they needed to get a grip. Both have had dark pasts and believe that they can't reveal themselves fully or the other will run. Watching their romance progress and their obvious attraction will keep you reading late into the night. The Hollywood aspect of the story is just as you would expect the stereotypical industry to be - just like high school.

If you are looking for a fun read check out Madisyns hot Hollywood book 1!

I enjoyed reading this book. Scarlett and Oliver have a strained relationship pretty much from their very first meeting. They have their highs and definitely have their lows. It did seem a little repetitive with Scarlett wanting him then pushing away multiple times. It makes sense why but it kinda made her seem a little immature and annoying.

I didn't know when I started this book that it was book 1 in a series of 4 following the same characters. Not a standalone. Just to warn others. It doesn't change that I enjoyed the book, it's just something I like to know before starting a book.

The story is based on the romance of a recently graduated in Film production and a movie mogul. Scarlett Rhodes is pitching for her screenplay when she formally meets Oliver Tate. He is enthralled by her and she drools over his british accent but the story develops into so much more. Intrigue, suspense and hotness all delivered in this book. They both have a dark past, and they would have to overcome their own fears to give in to love. Everything is not what it seems.... and even when I am not a fan of cliffhangers the story stands on it own. Of course I want to read the next one. Duh, lol...

There were some inconsistencies and one that stood out was where Scarlet invites Mike to move in with her. He is expected to arrive that night then nothing. Not even a phone call. Later he turns up in the book after an unexplained gap. Scarlet seems a concerned friend, yet never follows up.
I don't consider this a Spoiler as it's not central to the plot.
Just don't waste the reader's time giving so much details on a characters life, express concern and then forget all about it. I tend to view Scarlet in a negative light after this.

I got this book for free from the author for my phone at opinion.
Good story great Characters will continue with the next book. That being said there were some parts of the story that were out of place. Such as saying he was taking her pants off when 2 pages before her bare ass was talked about then her panties being taken off.
Or where she freaks when she is says she loves him while 20 pages back they already discussed this.

This is a fun, sexy read that has you engaged from the first page. Oliver and Scarlett try to make their relationship work beyond the obstacles of their uneven levels of power and money. Scarlett and Oliver give off mixed signals and their push and pull with each other because of their hidden pasts gets a bit annoying but, you keep cheering them on to get it together. The book ends with a cliffhanger leaving you anxious for the next one.

Hollywood brought to you

Reads just like you expect Hollywood to be . You feel like your a part of it all . This one will grab you from the start and hold you till the end . Scarlett Rhodes and Oliver Tate have hot and sexy chemistry between them . The dynamics between them was intense and great back and forth . The secondary characters are just as interesting . Not to mention the bonus stories at the end . Definitely worth the read .

It took me a while to get into the storyline. It was kinda like being on a roller coaster through out the book. I liked the characters a lot. My problem is I want an ending. I thought we were getting near one and then it turned. I hate cliffhangers and this has a big one! I like books that end with you wanting to know more about the characters not leaving you hanging with no ending in site. If you don't mind cliffhangers you'll probably love this book.

This book drew me in, kept me interested and turned on!! I'm really looking forward to reading the next book in the series to get some pressing questions answered. I definitely recommend this book because I know you will like it too!! I'm not going to explain what went on in the book because you read the blurb so you know what it's about and it's just better to experience it all on your own. I just know how good this book is!! Enjoy!!

A girl trying to make it as a filmmaker just out of college has a rude awakening when it comes to the reality of the movie industry. Oliver happens to dabble in the film industry among his other investments. But since they want each other, she won't take his help leading to her being difficult and hard-headed about anything he offers her. This was a good story, although Scarlett got a bit annoying in her steadfastness.

This story is about Scarlett and Oliver. Both who are broken from pasts that have scarred them both in ways they're not sure they can overcome. Trust is hard for them both. As the two of them grow closer, they decide to be honest and talk abou their pasts. Can they overcome and grow from this? When you think you're going to get the answers you're looking for, BOOM cliffhanger. Will have to wait and see. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

Oliver and Scarlett had that immediate connection. He's a billionaire media mogul, while she's a college film major. They were on fire from the word go. There were some deep twists and secrets to this story, and the steamy scenes were so hot. I was a little shocked at the ending, and it left me wanting to find out what happens next! This story was a bit disjointed and didn't always flow smoothly. Scarlett tried to come across as a mature adult but her words and actions made her seem immature and somewhat childish. She kepoing hot than cold. Oliver was better but he went back and forth also. This book was full of love romance, steamy scenes, suspense.
I received a ARC of this book.
