After suffering through the pain of her teenage sons drug addiction and ultimate arrest for armed robbery, Christy Crandell started on a mission to educate parents about the warning signs she missed. What Christy attributed to normal adolescent angst was indeed something much more serious. She failed to recognize the warning signs of drug abuse. The Crandell's provided a secure, loving home in a safe community that they hoped would insulate them from the trouble they experienced. This can happen to anyone, anywhere. There are no safe boundaries for drug addiction. Her story is riveting and the lessons are important. Its a must read for every parent. I

This book was absolutely amazing. If I could find a way to make every parent read this before they are allowed to have kids, I would. Christy's story is so powerful and so raw. Having gone to the same high school and grown up in the town, I was able to comment even more with the situation. Rocklin is a small, sheltered, family oriented town, but read what happens when something gets out of hand. Having strayed off the straight and narrow in high school as most of us did at least a little (though not as far as Ryan), I found that so many of these things were completely true for the teen attitude, mentality, and dealing with it. Love love loved this book. Read it!

"In 2003, Christy Crandell found herself in a constant battle trying desperately to help her son Ryan fight his drug and alcohol addiction."

This woman lived in Rocklin a city next to where I grew up. she explained how her sons arrest & jail time stoped him from doing drugs, which basically saved his life. It was a very good inspiring book.
