Hi, I'm Ryan! I was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada in 1980 and since then have written several books. You can read my Wikipedia page for more, or check out my author site at RyanNorth.ca!

I'm the author of the webcomic Dinosaur Comics (that's the comic where the pictures don't change but the words do, it's better than it sounds and I've also done crazy things like turn Shakespeare into a choose-your-own-path adventure, write a comic for Marvel about a girl with all the powers of a squirrel, or mess up walking my dog so badly it made the news.

I'm working on more stuff as we speak, hopefully it's good

"What's up, chuckleheads?" - PRINCESS BUBBLEGUM

What time is it? It's playing-totally-rad-games time!!! Not only Finn and Jake are being controlled by some mysterious force (which is totally not us), but they also get to play mathematical video games inside their friend BMO (did I mention that if you die inside the game you die in real life? no? well it was worth it anyway, right??)! But wait, what's happening? It's a VIRUS!! *epic gaming music starts*

Not my favourite volume, but I am always a big fun of Finn and Jake's adventures! I just didn't like the story very much in this one, and honestly the humour wasn't as on point at usual... but hey, it's still Adventure Time! 😜

A good quick read to get me back into things. Not my favourite of the volumes I have read so far.

The "choose your own story" section at the start threw me off a little, it was to jumbled to have a clear understanding of what was going on. After that though, the story was engaging and I liked that LSP had a story in this one, she doesn't always have the biggest parts.

I'll definitely read the next one.

This one was pretty MEH for me, as while I enjoyed the first tale, Choose Your Own Adventure Time, the second, and much longer story involving a video game left me bored.

AND - the icing on the cake to add insult to injury . . . almost a third of the book was alternate covers.

Tsk, tsk, tsk.

This collection starts with "Choose Your Own Adventure Time". Yes, that's right. So it would get 5 stars for that alone, even if the rest was sub-par (which, of course, it wasn't!). AFter that, this volume included two separate adventures of Finn & Jake - first, BMO (along with every other electronic in teh land of Ooo!) gets a virus that they have to destroy. Then, Ice King, Finn & Jake discover a long-forgotten series of dungeons through which they have to fight their way to get the treasures left behind.

Bonus points given this time for the epic evil penguin robot :D

As always, I love Adventure Time, though the first story in this issue (the choose your own adventure) was confusing and difficult to read, so I wasn't as big a fan of that one. Still totally fun and silly and enjoyable though.

I don't really think that I'm into adventure time anymore. I loved reading the books and watching the show when I was younger but now it's not as funny and cool to me anymore. But if anyone is still into adventure time and like it go ahead I couldn't care less.

The stories were action packed and funny and cute! What I loved most is the art in the concluding pages of the book, which made everything all the more special!

This is such a fun, light, beautifully colourful read! Enjoyed it to the max!

In the beginning part, it's a choose your own adventure. YES!!
There is this big jerk hacking into BMO. Marceline, Finn, and Jake tried to save BMO from thisevil hacking man. But like in every books, the ending was that they defeated that evil hacking guy.

This book was about a man named Ewblo, and he hacked and made a virus to control all computers an all electronics. So one day Marcline,Finn, and Jake wanted to play video games so the video game BMO started to start the game and then they started play the game, and they were all playing then Finn then realize that Marcline was playing better than they were and had a higher score so when they got to the end of the game they all saw a ewblo sign. When they got out of the game they asked BMO who Ewblo was BMO said I don't know who Ewblo is they all said ok but while they were sleeping BMO was acting weird. So they called Marcline and she came over to see what was wrong with BMO. And BMO started flipping out.The next day Finn and Jake went to find out who Ewblo was and they never found out who he was so they were going home and BMO tried to run away then when they got to where BMO was taking them they found Ewblo and they fought him in the digital world and they got him to stop the virus and be their friend.

In this adventure with Finn and Jake, we are sucked into a video game and they are fighting the nasty computer virus that threatens their friend. The premise is intriguing for a nerd like myself. I really enjoyed the interaction of the main characters of the story - Finn, Jake, and Marceline. There was a shorter story at the front of the book that I didn't much care for. It was one of those "choose your own endings" type of stories. While the characters look so stinking cute and the panels are so gorgeous, the panels really are hard to follow. Especially for younger children. (Trust me, I tested this with my own children.) The longer, main story was much better to my tastes. While the largest portion of the story takes place inside the video game, I would have liked to see more of the story take place outside of the video game. And I would have loved to see more characters in the main story as well. Overall, the story was good and the art is fantastic. I would definitely recommend this.

Charming choose your own adventure comic at the beginning. Very visually appealing. The story is just as enjoyable as an episode would be. I also enjoyed the wonderful collection of artwork covers in the back. If you like Adventure Time, chances are you'll like this comic series.

Now I need to find the first two volumes. It's been awhile since I've collected graphic novels.

Funny and really well constructed. I loved the whole 'reader control' thing.

Also don't be deceived by the cover Marceline wasn't even the central character in this edition but that didn't really bother me because I love all of the characters.

When I first picked up the fictional novel, Adventure Time, by Pendleton Ward, I was excited because one of my favorite shows was a book. With every page I turned, I felt as if I couldn’t stop reading until the end. It was an amazing book, just like the first two I read.

The book is divided into 2 events: one is about the Ice King(antagonist) and the other one is about stopping some sort of apocalypse with the 3 heros of the novel: Finn, Jake, and Marceline. Finn, is a human who fights with either a sword or his fists. He likes to go on adventures and likes to help people who are in need. Jake, a magical dog that can stretch, shrink, and grow in size. He likes to cook and play on his violin, but mostly he likes to go with his best friend, Finn, and take care of his family. Marceline is a vampire with special abilities and she rarely goes on adventures and usually likes to stay at home in the forest. In the first event/part, Finn and Jake were minding their own business in their treehouse, when the ice king showed up and put a mysterious spell on them that caused trouble for them. During this time Finn and Jake had to go and find a way to reverse the effect. In the apocalypse part Finn, Jake, and Marceline were playing a video game on their friend BMO(a robot), when a problem happens to the game. When they finish, BMO starts acting strange. Later they find out what was going on and BMO wasn’t the only one with this problem. Now it is up to Finn, Jake, and Marceline to save BMO and the others trapped in this mess.

This book was not my #1 favorite novel, I had some dislikes and likes about this book. I’ll start with what I liked first since there wasn’t much I disliked about the book. I thought the way how the villain got defeated in the second part of the novel was clever and the way the novel was executed. I thought the characters had a personality and feel like they can be your friends as well. What I disliked about the book, is that some parts don’t make much sense. When Jake was able to pull off that trick in such little time didn’t make much sense. I give this book a 5 star because there wasn’t really much I disliked about the book and the things I did dislike didn’t bother me much. I would recommend this book to people who like adventure, action, and a bit of mystery because the characters go on a long journey figure out what was going on in the Land of OOO. There was trouble that came along the way so they have to fight. This book was truly a blast to read when I first bought it from the library in my middle school. I forgot most of what happened but it was nice to read it again and remember all the good times i had reading these Adventure Time books. I hope the people who end up trying the book like it as much as I did.

I wasn't sure about this third volume after the second one, but it is still pretty similar to the TV show. We have here a "Choose Your Own Adventure" story (quite strange) and the main one is about BMO having a virus and Finn, Jake and Marceline trying to "cure" him. The short stories are nice. I still don't understand why this edition has Princes Flame on its cover.

I miss new episodes of Adventure Time on tv, but this is the next best thing. The first chapter is a "Choose Your Own Adventure Time" with lots of swirly arrows to keep you reading in the right order. The remainder of the book is the saga of Finn and Jake and Marceline fighting a computer virus that's taken control over BMO. The quest goes in and out of virtual reality, but with these guys, it's sometimes hard to tell the difference! The artwork captures the feel of the cartoons and it's all quite mathematical!

Adventure Time Volume 3 continues the comic book adaptation of the popular animated series, following Finn and Jake through a series of bizarre and comedic quests in the Land of Ooo. The graphic novel attempts to capture the surreal humour and imaginative world-building of the original cartoon.

Despite the source material's potential, this volume fails to capture the magic and spontaneity of the animated series (not that I am a huge fan of that either). Nevertheless, I gave it a go, but it didn't charm or wow me.

Another excellent volume of Adventure Time comics. The opening story was a choose-your-own-adventure which was really well done and loads of fun. There's also a video-game story illustrated in a fabulous pixelated retro-game style with visual references to classic games such as ExciteBike and Q*Bert. Thoroughly fun. The writers and artists of these books do a fabulous job of working with the comic-book medium while keeping the distinctive Adventure Time sensibilities.

I love that North (et al) have used comics to tell stories they would not be able to tell otherwise, such as the Choose Your Own Adventure story in this collection. Such a great use of the comic format. Also: so much fun. Also enjoyed the Video Game run. It's always fun to see how Marceline interacts with Finn and Jake.

Ice king takes away the boyz' free will. They beat up ice king and make him promise not to be irra af but Ice king keeps his fingers crossed while he makes the promise. Then a comic book spell happens and ice king has control of all the towns peeps. Jake and Finn decide they have to make their own comic that is more awesome so they can break the spell.

This is a book all about a kid named Finn and his dog named Jake. They go on awesome adventures. fight an evil ice king (evil but funny.) Finn is a human with a crush on the princess of candy. They fight a monster in a dungeon and they go to another world! A world were they have noises and Jake cant talk! How will they get back?

In this volume Ryan North applies his "chooseable path adventure" writing skills to the Land of Ooo and takes our heroes into a pixelated video game realm. All awesome stories brought to life by equally awesome art.
