About the author

Shungiku Nakamura (中村春菊 Nakamura Shungiku?, born December 13,1980) is a Japanese yaoi manga artist. She is most famous for creating Junjo Romantica: Pure Romance. Shungiku Nakamura's distinct style of manga has been identified largely throughout Japanese and English yaoi fanbases. Her works usually include large age gaps between the seme and uke and characters with careers in the publishing industry (as depicted in Junjo Romantica and Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi). She often cowrites with Fujisaki Miyako, who authored the novels of Yoshino Chiaki no baai in Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi.

What more can I say about this series and the stories? I still like it and the stories still have something nice and thoughtful to offer, still........this volume still feels like a filter to me, I feels like there isn't much to be learnt from our main couple and their relationship, that's it.

Oh my.. Adoro questa BL serie. Sono nel bel mezzo della stesura della tesi universitaria, quindi per ricaricarmi necessito di letture veloci, leggere, che mi rimettano il sorriso sulle labbra dopo ore di stress. Sekaiichi Hatsukoi è perfetto. Adoro le coppie e le loro scenette. E poi Takano e Onodera straziano il cuore..

I was really looking forward to reading this volume... but the story just turned out to be okay. I liked it, but it wasn't my favourite. I think it may because it has been months since I've picked up the series (because I've caught up with the series so I am buying them as they are being published in English now), but also because this entire volume only focused on the romance of Onodera and Takano. If the other characters had some story here, I would have liked it more. Especially with Kisa.

The story was okay. It paled in comparison to the other books in the series because nothing really happened. This was a volume where the characters would go on holiday, and nothing tends to happen when characters/couples go on holiday, because those are the sweet volumes.

Nothing really happened in terms of character development or relationship progression. If anything, it's the same problem over and over again of Onodera not being able to say, "I love you" yet. It feels boring, which is probably why I feel more invested in the other characters in this series.

It was okay. I will buy the next volume in the series when it comes out, but I sort of felt like I was rereading a volume instead of reading a new one.

Haitani confesses to Onodera and before he can say anything Takano butts in and we're deprived of what would have been a moment of truth for Onodera. He would have had to respond with... something...and I'm surprised Takano didn't fall back to hear what it was. Oh well. This was still a great volume.

The entire Emerald Department went on a mandatory vacation to the Kagawa Prefecture... which happens to be the place where Takano stayed for a while after Onodera left him and went abroad. During this vacation Takano and Onodera got to know each other a little better. Onodera is still struggling with being able to express his thoughts and feelings but after a conversation with Mino he's decided to really work on it. He has accepted that he loves Takano but for some reason he still refuses to say it to him. This at a time when Takano is getting more and more desperate to hear it.

Reread. I mean were to start. This story is so well built and so painfully slow and wonderful I can't even. It's just ugh I love it. Great impossible situation that have you laughing, crying, wanting. Absolutely the best manga and it has an anime eeeeeeek. So good.

Update: I might lose if they the writer never finishes this manga. I need the ending I need churchbells and all things happy. Too much has happened to these two THEY NEED THEIR HAPPY ENDING! AND I NEED TO READ ABOUT IT. And kou omg just seeing some random guy in the background sparkling and you instantly know its him, well it just makes my day. KOU YOUR TO DAMN SHINY!

It felt like the same 2-3 conversations over and over again. Takano is jealous of Haitani, who has a grudge against Takano, and Onodera feels that he is in love with Takano and no Haitani (this was never a question for him). But he refuses to even hint at this to Takano because he’s afraid they might break up and there’s no point to two men dating. Takano is pushy as ever. They’re both hot and cold all the time. No one heard a word anyone else said. Also Isaka as the new CEO sent them all on a 3 day trip, which was the backdrop for the whole volume.

Onodera, you need to listen to your own advice and I get that Takano is getting frustrated by Onodera’s inability to be honest, but my boy needs to stop shoving his tongue down Onodera’s throat every time he starts opening up to him. If you let him talk more, maybe he will finally tell you what everyone already knows.

Is that actual character development I am seeing? Did Ritsu actually as Takano about his likes? Like he cared!! Delightful!! Also the concept of the entire editing team being forced to finish an edition early for a relaxing vacation only for the 'vacation' to be extended adding more work and shared bedrooms! Heck yes !!

As these volumes go on, I'm finding myself more and more in love with Ritsu's character. I feel like there's been some pretty decent personal growth on Ritsu's part and Takano's maturity too. Kisa constantly interrupting them was pretty hilarious too.
