Look, but don’t touch…she might as well wear a neon sign that says it. It just makes me want her more.

She might be above me in every way, but I still want her under me.

I’ve got no business touching her rich-girl skin, but that won’t stop me from stealing a taste. Because rules were meant to be broken—especially when the prize is so fine.

In a world where nothing is as it seems, what's buried beneath these lies?

Meghan March did it again ! She worked her magic to deliver another mind blowing read.

Beneath These Lies is the fifth book in the amazing Beneath Series I absolutly love with passion. Difficult to talk about it without giving anything away. Just know this book has it all. We are given another great storyline packed with action, secrets, mystery, romance, passion and steamy hot sex scenes. The characters are incredible and the story is beautiful and perfectly told. I instantly liked this book and its characters. Against all odds they were the perfect fit for each other. At the very beginning I was a little hesitant with this book fearing a love triangle which is not really my cup of tea, and fortunately it was not the case.

I really enjoyed this book. The story ended up exactly the way I wanted it to. Whether this is your first in the Beneath Series or your fifth you won't be disappointed! I can't wait to see what Ms March comes up with next.

"A cop, a gang leader, and the daughter of a judge."

Valentina owns an art gallery that caters to the wealthy side of New Orleans. When her employee and friend disappears she goes to the cops, specifically Detective Hennessy, the man who's been slowly building her trust and flirting with her. When he can't do anything to help her friend, she investigates herself, which leads her to the bad part of town and right to Rix's doorstep. Rix is the leader of the local gang, and not the man Valentina should associate with. So why does she find herself going back to him over and over again?

Holy wow, I can't get over how hot Rix was! He was this big bad Alpha that I just wanted to jump and have my way with. I think out of this series he was the baddest of all the Heroes, and somehow also the sweetest. Yes he was a bad person in the laws eye, but to Valentina he was her Hero and I loved that. He was really protective of her and the way he would do anything to make sure she was safe had me swooning all over the place.

Valentina had been hurt in her past, and a part of her still hasn't recovered from that, yet when it came to saving her friend she put her own fears behind her to fight. I really enjoyed her character for that reason, she was so strong to go out of her comfort zone to help her friend. I liked her sassy side, and those times when she wouldn't take any shit from Rix. It was great and even funny at times to see her stand up to him, which he definitely wasn't used to.
"I'm fucking fascinated with you."

The story had a little suspense throughout it which kept me on the edge of my seat at times. There was also a bit of a mystery about Rix, which honestly I guessed early on, but it didn't stop me from being captivated by this story. Even though I was pretty sure I knew what was going on with him I still had many moments I was questioning if I was right and it had me intrigued.

Overall, if you haven't read this series yet then you're crazy. I love these hot Alpha's that Meghan March creates and I think everyone else will too! Past characters do show up once or twice during this book but it can be read as a standalone with no problem. Though I do recommend reading the other books just because they're amazing.

*** 3,5 stars ***

That cover though...

It was my first book from this series so I didn’t really know what to expect. I mean I knew I liked Meghan March’s writing style because I liked her Dirty Billionaire series. And the writing was ok, sex scenes were extremely hot and it had some twists I didn’t expect. I just couldn’t find the chemistry between main characters and I didn’t feel the emotional connection between any party involved.

I loved the hero, he was strong, confident, pure badass alpha male but I couldn’t warm up to heroine completely. She was indecisive and really I didn’t see the appeal they all saw in her.

Anyway, this was ok, I didn’t love it, I didn’t hate. I’m sure fans of the series will appreciate this one, it simply didn’t have that wow factor for me. Oh well, I can’t love them all…

The good, the bad and the damaged!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎧🎧🎧🎧🎧
Romance: 💙💚🖤💜❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙
World building: 🌎🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 😳🤬😏🤓

The heroine: Valentina - the daughter of a judge and part of high society in New Orleans. Valentina was raped by the Yve Santo’s husband years ago. That story was told in the last book Beneath These Scars. Valentina is now running an Art Gallery in New Orleans but has sworn off men.

The Hero(s): Hennessy - the handsome detective who appeared in many of the previous books in this series.
Rix - leader of the toughest gang in New Orleans. Rix works and lives on the wrong side of the tracks and makes no bones about it.

The Story: a girl named Trinity works for Valentina at the art gallery she owns. Trinity was Valentina’s little sister from the Big Sister program in New Orleans so she has known Trinity for years. So when Trinity doesn’t show up for work one day, Valentina turns to the police. Though since Trinity is over eighteen and it hasn’t even been 24 hours yet, Hennessy is unable to do much to help yet. Valentina goes looking for her at Trinity’s boyfriends house in the hood.

There she meets gang leader Rix, who appeared in Beneath These Chains where he was interested in Elle at the pawn shop. Rix immediately takes an interest in Valentina though he warns her not to come back to the neighborhood.

This story was good, though I didn’t like it as much as the others in this series. This starts out as a definite love triangle and you don’t know if Valentina will pick Hennessy or Rix. I knew, since I read the blurbs of the next few books, but I liked the one she chose.

The narration was done by Andi Arndt and Sebastian York and it was as good as all the others in this series. These are two of my favorite narrators. Andi Arndt has a great voice, she sounds like an intelligent woman yet young enough to be believable and Sebastian York has this deep gravely voice that is perfect for almost any Hero or Anti-Hero.

A little late to the game but better late then never. I don't even know how I missed Rix but damn if he didn't hit all of the spots for me. No real review here because I'm lazy but this totally gave me a hit of the Meghan March alpha I was craving

Once again we are given a book that is surrounded in secrets and mystery. Because of this I am unable to say too much about the plot of the story, as well as the main characters that are involved. I will say that I enjoyed this book over all. There were a few times where I thought that the direction of the story was one I might not like; but as I continued I was pleased to find out I was wrong!

I loved the hero in this one. As with the other books in this series; we are given a very strong Alpha male, who is protective and possessive to the maximum! It just so happens that I adore heroes like that, and he was no exception. All I can say is...YUMMY! Also, in this installment there happens to be one of the most erotic scenes I have ever read!!! I seriously loved it, and won't ever forget it!!

If this is a series that you have enjoyed so far; then you must read this right away! Meghan March continues to deliver a very sexy and suspenseful story. I have loved this series from the beginning, and I certainly hope there are more stories to tell! I love how this author writes her Alpha's, and I can't wait to see what she will bring to the table next! A definite must read for people who love a man who knows what he wants; and will take it no matter who or what stands in his way!!!

Meghan March is one of those authors that can't seem to release a book that I don't love...and Beneath These Lies is (in my opinion) the best of her books so far and...

description

If you've read the series and you already know who Valentina and Rix are. If you haven't then there's no problem because this book can be read as a stand alone (but I also loved the others book in this series so I totally recommend them).

She owns an art gallery and tries to live her life after the nightmare she went through. He is the ultimate good bad boy and even if he's more to him that meets the eye the bottom line is that they are from two different worlds.

Apparently they shouldn't be a couple but when they come together they just fit...

If I had to describe this book in just one word then that would be...

It was... ok.

It was a pretty good read, nothing spectacular but not bad either. I knew from the first few pages how it'll end, could have sworn that Rix's an . It was the expected outcome, and I can't say that I'm disappointed.

Didn't like that the chick was so indecisive, but I can understand it. And well, she was pretty nice, so I liked her (ish). Rix was great, although I feel really sorry for the cop friend, hope there'll be a book about him too, he seems like a fun char to read about.

All in all, an ok read, not as good as I'd have hoped, but not bad either.

This book hasn't been released yet (we don't even know the title as of the date I'm writing this) but I'm annoyed that someone has given it a 1 star rating. I'm trying to balance things out here.

This is a great series and I'm very much looking forward to this book!!!

ETA: Alright, just read this book and you know what? My 5 star rating stands. I loved it! It's my favourite of the series. Can't wait for book 6!

4 I need my Rix stars

What a great reading was this one!!!

This man was dangerous. And yet, strangely, I trust him.

LOVED Rix and how possessive he could be with his woman!

She was mine. He might be the better man, but I didn't care.
I'd laid my claim, and I wouldn't give her up for anything or nothing!

I enjoyed this reading and I liked the characters as well...Although Rix was my favorite he did everything in his power to make sure his little duchess was safe and protected from any harm...I loved his crazy protective ass and his willing to leave everything behind for his woman without a second thought! And I loved him for always reminding Valentina who she belonged to... He was always you're MINE! MINE! MINE! Could you ask for better man...?I don't think so!

"You sleep in my arms. Come on my cock. Reach for me in the night. That's how it's gonna go from here on out, duchess. That's just the beginning of being mine."

Now Valentina was a nice enough heroine...I didn't like her so much in the beginning because she didn't know what she wanted and made some poor decisions...which bothered me...But as the story unfolded and Rix was more open but who she belonged to, she got her senses back and start acting as she should! She went through some stuff and was trying to be strong and find herself...

"You love me."
"Of course I fucking love you, duchess. I would've taken every bullet fired in that house today if it meant they never would've touched you."

This book had some hot, steamy, sexy love making that made you wishing Rix was real and in your services or have your lover help you recreate the scenes with you...

'Please. I need...
"Me, duchess. You need me. I'm the only man eating this pussy. I'm the only mad sliding inside you. I'm the only man you're ever gonna feel this way for. Get me?"
"Yes."

See the possessiveness over there...??? Dammm hot, right???

"I love you, Valentina."
"I love you, too. Rix or Beau, or whoever you are."
"Yours. That's who I am."

Enjoy! xxx

DNF at 50%

I'm so done here. I don't do love triangles at all. I thought maybe it wasn't what it looked like and read on but when the h is down on her knees and about to give oral to the H and the om.suddenly shows up on her doorstep and shoves his tongue down her throat and she thinks his kiss is "good" that's when I throw in the towel.

Fuck that shit.

3.75 stars ⭐

In general, I like this book a lot, but there are some things that kind of kept me from giving it more than 3.75 stars, and of course, I will mention them!
So, this was a love triangle book, and trust me when I say I don't like reading love triangles. I try to avoid them as much as I can, because I always end up liking the wrong man, and it left me frustrated!
But I think this book was an exception, maybe it's the fact that the heroine didn't take much time to decide which man she wants or maybe both men are amazing, anyway it was a good book, I give it that!
So basically, Valentina was stuck at the beginning between these two guys, there was the bad guy and the gangster Rix, and Hennessy the detective and the good guy, which was kind of exciting. But I have to go and say it, the beginning was kind of rushed, everything was happening so fast and I couldn't connect much with the heroine, but still, it got better, and the ending was amazing, I didn't expect it, to be honest. It was a huge turn of events, but it was awesome!
As I said before, some things kept me from giving the book a higher rating. And I will sum up them with one-word "details". If you're kind of familiar with my reviews, you would know that I'm a sucker for details.
-First thing first, why there wasn't much information about Rix's past? Yes, we got some hints. However, his character is still vague for me!
-And the book started with Valentina's employee getting kidnaped, and who saved her? Rix did. And later on, Valentina herself get kidnapped? And who saved her? Again Rix did, well with the help of Hennessy, but this is not the point! The point is there were no details about how the saving happens.
As much as I know that sometimes I exaggerate, but details can really make a difference! Here, for example, if we get those scenes of Rix saving the girls that would've added some action to the book!
Overall, I really did enjoy this book. I didn't get bored, and I didn't skim, so I think it was a decent and short read that I would recommend!

Well…she’s done it again. Meghan March has out done herself with this book. The Beneath Series has always been a favorite of mine, and with each book I fall even more in love with these characters, and New Orleans.

Meghan was very tight lipped about this book. It’s been pretty top secret about who’s book this was going to be, and let me tell you, going into Beneath These Lies completely blind was the absolute best way to read it. It heightened the experience exponentially. I could not turn the pages fast enough to find out what was coming next. I gasped, fist-pumped the air, yelled, “no freaking way”, and maybe even shed some tears.

This book was epic.

All you really need to know to start this book is that Meghan March is the author. That’s it. And if this is your first Meghan March book, (shame on you) what you will get with that is:
1. Exceptional writing that sucks you in to New Orleans.
2. A bad ass, smooth-talking, hot as hell, protective Alpha (swoon).
3. A sassy, tough-as-nails, take no s**t, Heroine.
4. A story line that is going to keep you guessing with every turn of the page.

I know a lot of you don’t like surprises when reading, but guess what…that is the absolute best way to read Beneath These Lies. I promise you, PROMISE YOU, that you will love this one. <3

UPDATED with new info and additional read dates.

A cop, a gang leader, and the daughter of a judge. It sounded like the punch line of a joke should come next, but instead it was my life.

Valentina Noble (32, art gallery owner) has a missing employee, Trinity, and she’s determined to locate her. She learns from Rhett Hennessy that the guy her employee was dating belonged to a local gang, led by a man named Rix (35-ish, gang leader, previously tried to steal Elle from Lord). Val heads to the neighborhood to look for her girl but finds our sexy man instead.

Drugs. Money. Guns. They’d been my world for years, but I was ready to get out. Valentina wasn’t the kind of woman I could keep while doing what I did, and I wasn’t willing to let her go.

Rix realizes Val is way out of his league, but that doesn’t keep him from wanting her. While working to locate Trinity, Rix stakes his claim on Val – which is cool, except Rhett Hennessy also wants a shot. Val doesn’t necessarily encourage Rhett, but she definitely doesn’t discourage him. She officially cuts Rhett loose at the 48% mark.

Yes, I’d wanted women before, but never had I wanted one like this. With Valentina, all bets were off. All rules were broken. All standards crushed. She was just so much more. And she was mine.

There are some kidnappings, masquerade balls, painting sessions, secret identities, gunshots, and eventually an HFN.

“You’re as rare as a Picasso at a fucking flea market, to put it in terms you understand. And when a man comes across something that rare, he ain’t just gonna let it go without seeing what could come of it.”

SEX: Everything about this pissed me right the fuck off. There are so many damn interruptions. They consummate their relationship at the 50% mark, and it’s way too short for me. I really wish Meghan March was better at writing sex scenes. There are also stupid condoms. They have a few sexy times after that, which are decent. Here’s what really pissed me off that I dropped stars for it. At around the 37% mark, Val & Rix are going to town, he eats her out and it’s hot as hell. He’s rolling on the condom when she decides she just can’t go through with it, and she gets up and leaves. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK!?! I get it, a person has the right to change their mind at any point – but come on. I think it’s so messed up to be into a guy and let him rock your world and then not even get him off. If you decide you don’t want to fuck, then at least suck him off. Damn that made me mad.

RIX: Fuck yes, that man does it for me. Love that bad boy energy. He’s even sexier with SY’s voice.

PAST: Valentina appeared in Yve’s book because Yve’s husband had raped Val. There are never any flashbacks of the incident. It’s barely mentioned in this book. Just a vague reference so I don’t think it would trigger anyone.

POV: I think another reason I didn’t like this book as much is because it’s about 85% Valentina’s POV. I needed more Rix. Plus, there are a few chapters from Rhett’s POV. Blah.

SURPRISE: I preferred the plot prior to the surprise revelation. When you read it, you’ll know what I mean.

AUDIO: Since it’s mostly V’s POV, I don’t think it’s crucial to listen to the audio like it is for the other books. Our girl Andi Arndt narrates Val’s chapters, and she’s a pro. Sexy man Sebastian York narrates for Rix, and he’s obviously sexy as fuck, but there isn’t enough of him. Sadly, this isn’t a duet.

5+ -- Shadows And Light -- stars

Wow. Amazing! I love this book so much! This series is one of my favorite series ever and I’m always impatiently waiting for the next book. Every book has emotion, a little bit of suspense and steam. No matter how high my expectations are, Meghan March always delivers. She is an amazing writer. I loved every word. Every chapter. Every romantic moment.

I didn’t know what to expect, since the blurb is very vague and I didn’t know the characters names when I started. This is the best way to read this book. Do yourself a favor, go in blind. Find out yourself who the couple will be and what happens. I started reading and I was hooked. I didn’t want stop. Things happen I didn’t expect to happen and at moments when I least expect it to happen. I highlighted a lot and I even reread certain scenes before I continued reading because they were so good.

I love the main characters. I fell in love with them and rooted for them. Just like in the previous books, it seems unlikely they will be a couple, but they eventually fall hard for each other and they are perfect for each other. They are both damaged. He’s an alpha male and very possessive. The sex was hot.

Both characters have their secrets. I loved every little revelation about them while reading. When I was reading the second part of the book, I wondered how this amazing book would end. But at the same time I never wanted it to end. When I read the words ‘The End’, I wished the book was twice as long because I really can’t get enough of the couple. The epilogue was so beautiful. It was perfect. It was the epilogue I needed.

I also loved it that the characters from the previous books appear. It’s always great to read that the previous couples are still in love and haven’t change at all. The women are great friends and always have a great time together. They are always there for each other. I know whose book I want next. I’m already impatiently waiting for it.

Stupid love triangle! Not cool!

Normally, I can read about love triangles but the one here was not cool! It took of my 2 stars from the rating!

This book is told mainly by Valentina, the heroine. However, some chapters, though few of them, are told by Rix and Hennesy, the two men caught up in the love triangle with her.

The start of the attraction and involvement between "Rix & Valentina" and "Hennesy & Valentina" happen around the same period of time and Valentina leads both of them on for a while. She fails to say “yes” or “no” to either one of them, kissing both of them and all. Her indecisive mood made it impossible for me to like this heroine.

There is one scene where Valentina is going to give one of the guys a blow-job but then, the doorbell rings, she answers the door, the other guy comes and after their short conversation at the door, he kisses her and she lets him do it. She then thinks it was a good kiss but he didn’t make her feel the things the other guy can! Not the same heat and not the same intensity!

Seriously? WTF?

Does she need to compare further things??
Maybe compare them in bed? Together or after one another???

Oh, I was so furious with her!
And that was where I decided to DNF this book and quit the series…

***********************************************

Back to the book!

I went to sleep, calmed down and the day after I picked up the book again, skimmed and scanned it to see how it evolves and how it ends, my curiosity winning over my resentment, as I want to continue the series.

Thankfully, she chooses sides a while later (a week or so) and decides who she really wants to be with.

From then on, the book gets a bit better.

“Thought we were on the same page, duchess.”
I pressed both hands to his chest. “I’m starting to wonder if we’re in the same story.”
His silver gaze was determined. Unyielding. Possessive. “There’s only one story. The one where you’re mine, and you chose me."

***********************************************

Surprisingly, both guys are good!

I loved the guys, both of them!

Rix and Hennesy are both charming in their own ways. I am happy that one of them didn’t turn out to be a d*ck in the end. That was refreshing.

The one who loses the girl will have his book as well - so we will see the time he wins :)

***********************************************

Our hero is hot, the hot scenes are very HOOOTT, indeed!

The steam and chemistry between Valentina and the guy she chooses is good. The way they crave for each other, the way they want each other everywhere and anywhere takes their relationship sometimes to the verge of exhibitionism :) A bit of a kinky stuff!

The plot twist

As in all books in the series, there is crime, action, suspense etc. in this book, too. It was well-balanced and it didn't outweigh the romance/smut part of the book.

The plot twist was also a good one for me, one I wasn’t expecting but it may be because I was skimming and not investing myself in the story much :)))

***********************************************

Didn't make sense??!!

There was one thing that was really weird for me. For a woman who was once raped, Valentina was too careless for her own good, going to the dangerous neighborhoods alone at night to seek for her friends etc. She did these careless acts more than once!

***********************************************

I need a break from this series!

All in all, the book was OK, not bad; however, as I have been reading the books in this series in a loop, things have gotten too repetitive for me.

That’s why, I am giving a long break to this series here before I come back and read the last 2 books.

4 F-me, Rix Stars!!!!

I'm so sad that I'm all caught up with this series, so I've run out of books to read. What the hell am I supposed to do with my life now?!?!?!?!?!

This wasn't my fave of the series, but it was still a strong and entertaining read. But after the all-time high that I was coming off of after reading Beneath These Scars, it would have been hard for ANY BOOK to top that. I still enjoyed it. I still highly recommend it to fans of the series because something HUGE happens at the end of the book that affects the entire series. Holy hell, something I never in a million years would have seen coming. Bravo, Meghan. BRAVO!!!! :)

And holy club scene AND bar scene!!!! Holy shit! That reminded me of some vintage Sylvia Day. Great stuff! Let's just say that the hero here brings out the dirty in the heroine.

Oh! And go in blind. There are a lot of twists here. Don't spoil it for yourself. You won't be sorry!! :)

I am already wanting more. <3

5+++ Beneath These Lies Stars

Omg this BOOK!!

Stop everything and read it. I can’t even tell you how awesome it is.

I think this is my favorite of the series. Rix is just so HOT, and Valentina is perfect for him.

It’s really hard to review this book because I don’t want to give anything away. So I will just talk about the characters.

We meet Valentina in the book previous and you know she has a hard past but she is a strong woman and she deserves to find that one man that is going to be her everything.

Rix is the bad boy with a good heart I know your rolling your eyes but its true. He finds himself falling for this lady he never would have. And his protection instinct is high. He wants nothing but to make sure she is safe, whether that is from him or from his world.

I loved how they fight it but its undeniable. There attraction their feelings can’t be held back.

Loved the narration Andi and Sebastian do a phenomenal job.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

This review can also be found at Carole's Random Life.

I absolutely loved this book. The narration really was phenomenal in this audiobook. I am pretty much convinced that I would have liked this book if I had picked up a print copy to read but the narration made me fall in love with the story. I didn't want to stop listening and I really didn't stop very often. I am so glad that I picked this one up.

I really liked the characters in this story. Characters are always important but with a romance novel they are really vital to the story. This book was just filled with great characters. Valentina is a gallery owner who has been through some things in her past. She is worried about her missing employee who is more like a little sister to her than anything else. Detective Hennessy is the man who helped her when she was victimized before. She goes to him for help in finding her employee but when he can't offer a lot of help she starts looking on her own. Rix is the local gang leader who may be able to help her find her friend.

Kind of sounds a bit like a love triangle doesn't it? It really was a love triangle at the start of the book and I can't believe it but I loved that about the story. I had no idea who Valentina would end up with and I really liked them both. They were both strong characters that were a completely alpha males. I thought it was interesting how the two men were alike in so many ways but very different in others with one being a detective while the other one is running the local gang. I couldn't step away from this book because I had to know who Valentina would end up with.

Eventually Valentina's choice became obvious but I found there was still so many other things that I had to know. I loved the chemistry between the characters and the sexy scenes were very well done. There was actually a lot of excitement in the story as things moved towards the end. I was really rooting for the couple to get their happily ever after despite all of the obstacles.

Andi Arndt and Sebastian York really brought this story to life. The bulk of the narration was done my Ms. Arndt but Sebastian York's parts came in at just the right time to really add to the story. Their voices were both perfect for this story. Andi Arndt did a wonderful job with the parts of the book from Valentina's point of view. She displayed a wide range of emotions and did a great job with all of the dialog in the story. Sebastian York narrated the sections of the book from Detective Hennessy and Rix's points of view. He really did a fantastic job with both of the these characters and his narration really helped me imagine these two alpha men. I love both of these narrators and think that their narration styles really compliment each other. I will definitely look for both Andi Arndt and Sebastian York again soon.

I would recommend this book to fans of contemporary romance with a bit of an edge. If you have the chance to listen to the audiobook, that is the best way to experience the story in my opinion. This is the listed as the fifth book in the series but it works well as a stand alone. This is the second book by Meghan March that I have had a chance to read and I hope to look for other works soon.

I received a review copy of this audiobook from Blackstone Audio via Audiobook Jukebox for the purpose of providing an honest review.

Initial Thoughts
Loved this one! The characters were great, the narration was perfect, and the story kept me interested. And there were the sexy times...

Triangle alert!!!

I get why Val was apprehensive about Rix - hello...gang leader!

But leading him and the cop on was NOT COOL! Kissing them both multiple times. Again, not cool!

I just did not like Val enough to really like the book. Rix was great. But his big secret was super obvious from the beginning.

Oh Rix. Lord have mercy. Enjoyed this book! I did read it in order with the Beneath Series but I guess I forgot to mark it as read and review! Oops.

HOLY SHIT. I went into this story with one thing in mind. I thought I knew who was going to get their love story next but I was so freaking wrong.

Valentina hasn’t really lived her life since her brutal attack years ago. But for a girl who put dating on the back burner, she suddenly seems to be the object of affection from more than one man.

A cop and a gang leader. Light and darkness. For a daughter of a judge, she knows which side of the law she should stay on, but when something happens to a close friend, she can’t seem to deny how badly her body doesn’t seem to care about right or wrong.

I had no idea that this book would bring on a sort of love triangle, but I loved how March used both male characters to feed off of one another and really build this story up. Everything flowed effortless for me as reader and although I had some ideas of what was really going on, I found that I was far more excited about reaching that point in the story, even having figured out a major twist early on. I love when a story can grip me that much.

I can’t believe this finishes of my Beneath Series experience. I am sort of holding out hope that a certain character will get his HEA after all this time and that maybe he is paired with a certain young, tattooed girl who is getting over her crush on a certain taken tattoo artist.

If you read a lot it's becoming very rare to come across a gem you so love and enjoy!

This is a true gem for me! I knew immediatly who had my heart! Liked him instantly and the loving part easily followed.

Valentina hasn't had an easy life, she has a dark and traumatic past. I so wanted her to be happy and a life without trouble.

I am a chaotic person who is reading this series not in order. I'm checking out the othefs now.

Beneath These Lies was a captivating book and this book throws you for a loop because we see how Meghan March places an element in the story I was never going to expect her to throw in….a bit of a love triangle and boy was it a whopper. Any y’all know that I can’t stand love triangles and even though this one was present, you obviously know who the main couple actually is. But it is sad for Hennessey, who is solid and a good man through and through (and yes he does have a book, the last book in the series—review below for it) but its not quite his time yet. This story features a mob boss “Rix” and a classy lady who owns and runs an art gallery and also is a talented artist herself. But she gets in a bind in trying to find her friend and co worker, and this bind puts a bulls eye on her back and Rix is determined to win her over. And while it does have some darker elements at times, I truly love the ending and the way the story evolves. Stunning in only the way that Meghan March delivers.

OMG, I can't even! So good! I LOVED IT!

Do you know how hard it was for me, going in blind, not knowing a thing about the characters? Whose book is it? Who's the hero? Who's the heroine? What the heck happens?

And then I got the book and ahhhh! At first, I was all, "Aha, I knew it!" but then my eyes went wide and I was all, "Noooo... Well, makes sense." AND THEN, Meghan went and did THAT and oh, boy! I was, "She didn't! But she did!"

And it was amazing. Whoever the hero is, may have dethroned my Lord Robichaux. I'd feel bad, but the hero's definitely hot and perfect. Heroine kicks ass!

I know it's vague - it was supposed to be hah! - but believe me, you will NOT be disappointed. Seriously, this HAS to be Meghan's best book and I've loved almost all of them.

5 stars. No, that's not right. Add a few +++ in there. Ah, better!

P.S. I want to thank the author from the bottom of my heart and soul for the copy given in exchange for my honest and vague review. It was such a pleasure! No, really. Wait till you read it!
