The events of World War 2 are often associated with male endeavor, particularly in war books however extraordinarily brave and courageous women not only assisted their male counterparts but had played key roles that had ultimately contributed to the success of winning the war. This book provides a platform on which to remember those fearless, forgotten WW2 women, whose stories deserve to be told.

These accounts highlight each woman's heroic role during World War 2, starting with their early life, covering the influences, decisions and circumstances which shaped their paths and finally focusing on the women they ultimately became. World War 2 History’s 10 Most Incredible Women is an essential resource for anyone interested in history or simply wanting to understand and appreciate these respected, tenacious and resolute women. Includes recommended resources for further reading.
This is a very good book and I think one that would be a valuable addition to a course on the history of women or something along that line.
The ten women include a photographer who is noted for her pictures of the dust bowl, for military photos she took and also for her photos of Buchenwald. Another woman was a spy; one was an art historian; one pioneered air medical evacuation during combat and another was a flight nurse.
One became the only woman to join the French Foreign legion; one was tortured because of what she was working and others were spies.
There is information on each woman, what she did and the importance of what she did. Not all of them survived, by the way. The contributions they made were very significant, especially in relation to World War II. Again, a book that is so good is should be used in a class as a resource.
We don't hear enough about the heroic woman from the war, this is a start to what I am sure would be a long list. Unfortunately not much is known about so many, these are a highlights of what are the lives of some very interesting stories. Some of the women has written autobiographies and they are listed here. I look forward to reading them. Thanks to this author for wetting my appetite with recounts of such courageous women.
All 10 women deserve a book of their own. I was glad I was introduced to them via this book; however, the book read more like a pamphlet that you pick up at a museum than a book. Still glad I read it, just for the information, but....
I would have enjoyed having a bit more information about these women in the book. It's nice to read stories about women and WWII and their contributions.
This book was great! World War 2 History’s 10 Most Incredible Women: WWII history, WW2, War books, world war 2 books, war history, World war 2 women) (Kindle Edition) is sure a long title, but appearances may be deceiving!
