Tad Williams is a California-based fantasy superstar. His genre-creating (and genre-busting) books have sold tens of millions worldwide, in twenty-five languages. His considerable output of epic fantasy and science fiction book-series, stories of all kinds, urban fantasy novels, comics, scripts, etc., have strongly influenced a generation of writers: the ‘Otherland’ epic relaunches June 2018 as an MMO on steam.com. Tad is currently immersed in the creation of ‘The Last King of Osten Ard’, planned as a trilogy with two intermediary novels. Trošku mi trvalo, kým som sa do príbehu opäť ponorila.

Práve v týchto okamihoch som si o čosi väčšmi uvedomovala, že hoci v preklade ide o dve knihy, v origináli sú súčasťou jediného románu. A keďže som si medzi čítaním týchto častí dala dlhšiu pauzu, unikli mi niektoré menšie súvislosti. Nehovoriac o tom, že som si musela trošku zvyknúť na to o dosť svižnejšie tempo.

Ale ani tejto knihe sa nedá uprieť, že je po remeselnej stránke vyslovene fascinujúca. Toľko prvkov a žánrov nakombinovaných a vystavaných po podoby jednoliateho sveta a hlavne príbehu... Tú autorovu obratnosť môžem jedine obdivovať. No zároveň je kvôli tomu séria o niečo náročnejšia na pozornosť a tiež je skúpa na odhalenia.

Ale aj tak sa teším, s čím sa Tad ešte vytasí.

J'ai eu un peu de mal à m'y remettre et au final, les actions ont commencé à me glisser un peu dessus, sans trop m'imoprter. Mise à part Qinnitan et le sort de Silex, assez peu m'importait. Pas sûr que ce soit suffisant pour j'aille chercher les tomes suivants...

Sur un rhytme presque épuisant, ce livre se dévore sans perdre un instant. On regrette qu'il s'arrête, heureusement la suite n'est pas loin...
