This is a pen name for Jill Myles.

Jill Myles has been an incurable romantic since childhood. She reads all the 'naughty parts' of books first, looks for a dirty joke in just about everything, and thinks to this day that the Little House on the Prairie books should have been steamier.

After devouring hundreds of paperback romances, mythology books, and archaeological tomes, she decided to write a few books of her own - stories with a wild adventure, sharp banter, and lots of super-sexy situations. She prefers her heroes alpha and half-dressed, her heroines witty, and she loves nothing more than watching them overcome adversity to fall into bed together.

I just recently found out that this was a book. (Like an hour ago) I didn't even know there was a short story to my favorite couple in this series, Gretchen and Hunter. I really liked it, but didn't love. This book was partly about my fav couple and a new couple. It was split 50/50 between them. The new couple is one I've been waiting for...........Daphne and Wes. I liked them together and the conclusion to all the couples in this series and the spin off one. I'm rating this book 4 stars.

Beauty and the Billionaire: The Wedding might be short on page count but it's not short on the squishy, gooey, feels.

After months of preparation, including a postponement, hookups and unexpected pregnancies, Gretchen and Hunter are finally, FINALLY tying the knot. But alas, everything seems to be falling apart on Gretchen: part of the mansion, where the wedding is supposed to be held, is flooded in, she fired another baker, and Hunter is keeping something from her. On top of that, her recovering drug addict sister Daphne wants to reconnect with her.

I adored every second of this book. It's a novella but doesn't read like one. Aside from Gretchen and Hunter's wedding story, there's also a sweet, redemptive story about Daphne. Remember her? Fans of the series sort of have a hate-hate relationship with her and I was curious whether or not Jessica Clare would give her a book even if it's not with one of the billionaires.

Well, she did. And it was quite lovely. Okay. A lot lovely. It actually made me cry, simply because her HEA was so hard fought, I feel like. I don't want to say anything more except that if you've read One Night with a Billionaire, you'll know who her hero is. But really, Ms. Clare did her character justice. It's nice to read about a hated character hit rock bottom, get an epiphany and then turn her life around.

The inclusion of Daphne's story was the perfect cherry on this very delightful cake of a series. I loved this series so hard. It was wonderful to see characters from the previous books in the series make an appearance. I definitely want more from this world though. I keep saying billionaire heroes are over, but when it comes to Jessica Clare's billionaires, I find myself saying, "Yes! More billionaires, please!"

***Warning: this is an adult book, and for the eyes of mature readers***

Summary (from Goodreads):

In this all-new novella in the New York Times bestselling series, Hunter and Gretchen are finally tying the knot—but their wedding may not be the easy fairy tale they’ve dreamed of...

Someone's out to ruin Gretchen's happy-ever-after on the eve before the big day. Can she trust Hunter, the man she's given her heart to? And can she rely on her sister Daphne (the least reliable person of all!) to help her salvage things? Or is this marriage going to go down in flames before Gretchen and Hunter ever get to the altar?

Includes a sneak peek of Dirty Money, first in Clare’s brand new Roughneck Billionaires series.

What I Liked:

A bit of a disclaimer - I have not read any of the books in this series, nor have I read anything by Jessica Clare. I downloaded this novella completely by accident. The publisher sent a promotional email that included a NetGalley widget, but I didn't see the widget at first, and I clicked within the email and bam! I've opened a widget in NetGalley and it's on my NetGalley shelf. So I figured, why not. I don't really do novellas, but this one was cute.

Gretchen and Hunter's wedding is Christmas Eve, just a few days away, and Gretchen is freaking out. She wants everything to be perfect, but it's not just Bridezilla fever kicking in. Hunter is a billionaire, and she is an unemployed train wreck. She loves baking and decides that she is going to bake everything for the wedding. She wants a fairy tale wedding with nothing standing in their way... but nothing goes according to plan. Will they make it to the altar before things fall apart?

This was a sweet novella. Gretchen is a seriously anxious person, and a bit of a control freak, and she has been taking on way too much. Baking cake, dessert, and bread for two hundred people? Good luck. Getting everything put together last-minute? It's no wonder Gretchen is on the verge of a breakdown. She tries so hard because she wants to impress her husband-to-be, to show him that he's not just marrying an unemployed loser. She loves him and wants to show him this.

Hunter, on the other hand, is planning two big surprises for Gretchen, and he's excited and nervous about her reaction. Hunter is so thoughtful, and is very devoted to Gretchen.

This novella was very short, but it got me into the characters' heads really well. I hadn't read any of the other books in the series, but I didn't need to.

There is a family dynamic here too, and a wonderful friendship. Gretchen's younger sister Daphne has been out of contact with the family for quite some time, but shows up for the pre-wedding shenanigans. And it's nice to see Gretchen and her bridesmaids/friends interact - they are hilarious and so supportive of each other.

The ending of this novella is cute! Exactly how I hoped it would end, and Gretchen and Hunter handle it beautifully. I like how everything came together.

What I Did Not Like:

This is a novella and therefore, it was very short. There is a conflict (Gretchen's anxiety over the wedding), but there is also another story line in this novella. I felt like this was a bit much (to feature TWO couples), though the second story line was cute.

I thought this was going to be a little steamier than it was! There was literally NO steamy scenes in this book. Not even a good makeout session. I'm a tiny bit disappointed!

Honestly I felt a bit meh about the story, but again, I've not read any of the books in the series. I didn't know any of these characters like some of you who may have read one or two or all of the books in the series. Gretchen seemed a little crazy to me, and Hunter seemed a little one-dimensional, and I didn't particularly care for Wesley, and Wesley/Daphne. The bridesmaids and their interactions were fun though. They are hilarious!

Would I Recommend It:

I think fans of Jessica Clare won't be disappointed, especially those who have read this series. I think this novella will be very satisfying, and those fans will love this check-in with the couple from Beauty and the Billionaire. But for me, who hasn't read the series... meh. It was an okay story. A cute novella. But not one that I'm going to remember weeks from now. Like I said, I downloaded this one by mistake! I had no intentions of reading it before that.

Rating:

3 stars. It wasn't bad! This is definitely a case of it's-not-you-it's-me. Like I almost want people to disregard my review because my apathy is somewhat due to the fact that I'm not totally into this series! I have no background and really don't care too much about the series. But I may check out Beauty and the Billionaire. It sounds... weird, but intriguing. Plus I like the Hunter/Gretchen dynamic (though Gretchen is a bit loca).

OMG, I don't think I can wait for November now that I know this is coming... I want it now! So excited, these two have always been my favorite pair.

Finished it, and I am going to say that I was kinda disappointed by this one, and I am really sad about it. I loved these two's original book. Who was this Gretchen?? Where was her totally sassyness and her flare! Don't even get me started on Daphne's story being at least half if not more of this already short book. I mean, she should have had a book of her own if the author wanted to write her into it this much. I wanted this to be all about the wedding and Gretchen and Hunter.

I liked it, but didn't love it.

***4 Stars***

This novella was as much about Daphne's recovery and growth as it was about Hunter and Gretchen's wedding. I loved it all!

Hunter and Gretchen were one of my favorite couples in this series. Gretchen's over the top, zany personality and Hunter's patience, understanding and love was a winning formula that continued with the preparations for their wedding. Also, have no fear, there's no big drama here, which I was worried about for a second after I read the blurb. All I can say is, I seriously love these two!

And big ol' kudos and thumbs up to Jessica Clare for getting me to like Daphne. As mushy and weird as it sounds, when I finished this book, all I thought was "I'm so proud of her!" Daphne is really turning her life around...she's accepting that things are difficult, that she has to recognize the challenges and she's making progress at facing those challenges and conquering her triggers.

Beauty and the Billionaire: The Wedding is the conclusion to both the Billionaire Boys Club series and the Billionaires and Bridesmaids series. I have to admit I’m a bit sad to see both series come to their ends, because I adore Jessica Clare’s billionaire books! That being said, this novella wasn’t quite wasn’t what I expected, though it was still fairly enjoyable. I loved that we got more Gretchen and Hunter, who make up my favorite couple Jessica Clare has written yet. But what surprised me was the big role Gretchen’s sister Daphne played. So if you’re expecting this novella to be solely about the upcoming nuptials, just be aware that half of it is Daphne’s story!

Gretchen is stressing out about her upcoming wedding. Nothing is going right for her, but at the end of the day, all that matters is that she’s marrying the love of her life, Hunter. Still, it’s not a story starring Gretchen without some ridiculous fun and messy entanglements. And of course, Hunter is still as devoted and in love with Gretchen as ever. He’s planning surprises for his bride, trying to show her just how much he adores her.

Then there’s Daphne’s story and her battle against her addictions and trying to make right with her family again. I wasn’t expecting to get her story in this novella, though I do appreciate Daphne getting her own little HEA with her life coach. I still don’t completely love her character, but I admired her determination to gain back her sisters’ trust and respect.

This novella was funny, quick, and sweet. I wish there was more (as I always do with novellas) but it’s a bittersweet ending for the series. I’m glad I got to see all the past characters one last time – so if you’re a fan of either series, make sure to pick this one up! I’m excited to see what else Jessica Clare has in store for her readers!

-A short (about 30k word) follow up to Beauty & The Billionaire, as well as a nice wrap up to the Bridesmaids & Billionaires series. It ends quickly and there’s a teaser for the next billionaire series, which I’m all in for, natch.

-Hunter and Gretchen are still great and their wedding was just as imperfectly perfect as they are. Loved it.

-Christmas novella, without being too Christmas-y, it was a sweet way to focus on what matters, which is love, family and friends. Which leads me to….

-Features a short side romance with Daphne and her life coach, Wesley. Now, I need to preface this with my complete and utter dislike for Daphne in every appearance she made in the earlier books. I mean, every single one, she was a holy hot mess. Rude, mean, selfish, seriously horrible person and she even destroyed my enjoyment of Cade’s romance. I couldn’t imagine reading an entire book of hers, so I’m glad she’s just a part of this romance, not the entire focus.

-That said, I’m impressed that Ms. Clare got me to the point where, while I may never love Daphne, I did appreciate that she was making the effort to be a better person and reconnecting with her family. Go figure. So, yes it did affect my rating, but I still thought overall, it was an enjoyable read.

I enjoyed this little wrap up to the Bridesmaids and Billionaire series. If you’ve invested in the series, it’s a nice postscript. If you’ve never read them, I’d probably focus on starting with Beauty & The Billionaire first, which was a great read.

Hunter and Gretchen wedding day.

Loads of chaos on this one as Gretchen fired her so-called caterers. So she made her own wedding cake with pudding in the center only to be wobbled down. Her wedding dress didn't fit as well.

Pretty much wedding disasters you'd never want to happen during your wedding.

And Daphne's reappearance as sober and good old twin sister again. Looks like she's getting a piece from this series.

Gretchen and Hunter are getting married! Gretchen is getting the man of her dreams and Hunter is getting the love of his life. Hunter is busy working while Gretchen is busy planning their wedding and working on publishing a recipe book. It wasn't always like that. It's just the caterers were not up to Gretchen's standards, which resulted in Gretchen doing all the baking herself. Talk about stressful, she's about ready to have a nervous breakdown. Needless to say, the wedding has not gone as planned. Lots of adjustments and replacements have taken place. When Gretchen is stressed, she bakes....a lot.
Hunter's been hiding things from her, she can feel it. She wants to believe, in the best way, he's not keeping secrets so close to the wedding. A wedding that's getting closer by the day, stressing her more that ever now that she suspects something. Does she really want to know what's going on with Hunter, or is it better to just keep her head buried in the sand?
Now a mystery woman shows up at his office. A Mystery woman would be okay, but does she have to be pretty too? A little snooping, and Gretchen assumes the worst. Time to fight for what's hers.....Hunter. Add in a troubled sister, and you've got one hell of an adventure.
Gretchen's sister Daphne has led a privileged life, but with the good comes the bad. She's living the bad now. She's in recovery dealing with triggers and her demons. The light at the end of the tunnel is closer than its ever been thanks to Wesley. Wesley, her trainer, her bodyguard and life coach.....her everything, well, in her head, at least. When she's well and recovered, he'll move on. She's just a job to him. For Daphne, it's more.
AWESOME READ !  THE STORY FLOWED EFFORTLESSLY !   I loved reading about Gretchen and Hunter again !  I  am eagerly awaiting to read more about Daphne and Wesley !
Hunter will do and give anything for Gretchen. She has helped him become a better person. He is devoted to her and willing to do whatever it takes to take care of her and protect her. Gretchen is strong willed but let's her man be in charge. She cares for him above all things, as he does her.
GRETCHEN AND HUNTER HAVE AMAZING CHEMISTRY !  THIS IS A GREAT LOVE STORY !
GREAT ADDITION TO THE BILLIONAIRE BOYS CLUB SERIES !

••••••••••

REVIEW: 3.5 stars--BEAUTY AND THE BILLIONAIRE: The Wedding by Jessica Clare is a novella length story line in the Billionaire Boys Club series focusing on the Christmas wedding preparations one week prior to Gretchen Petty and Hunter Buchanan’s wedding. The months leading up to the wedding have been highlighted in Jessica Clare’s spin off series-Billionaires and Bridesmaids that focused on several of the wedding party attendants for the upcoming nuptials. BEAUTY AND THE BILLIONAIRE also follows the building relationship between Gretchen and Audrey’s prodigal sister Daphne Petty, and her personal trainer Wes.

Told from several third person points of view we are witness to Gretchen’s meltdown as her wedding day approaches. From a series of baking mishaps, a winter snowstorm, and a potential blackmail scheme, Gretchen believes her wedding day is cursed. With the return of Daphne things go from bad to worse as the trio of sisters begin to butt heads about Daphne’s sudden appearance.

BEAUTY AND THE BILLIONAIRE: The Wedding is the culmination of several story lines and two series, and months of preparations for Gretchen and Hunter’s wedding. The reader has been up close and personal as the bridesmaids and groomsmen have come and gone never quite sure who will be standing with the bride and groom. The premise is entertaining and a whirlwind of activity but was anti-climactic with the resulting story line due in part to the massive buildup throughout the series-I was expecting a more extravagant and detailed story. The characters are colorful and familiar; the romance is limited as the relationship has already been established. The lone scene of sexual activity is mostly implied. With the addition of Daphne and Wes, I am going to presume there is another story line in the future and The Wedding is the vehicle of introduction.

Beauty and the Billionaire: The Wedding is a novella in the Billionaire Boys Club world and it is Book 6.5. It is Hunter and Gretchen are finally about to get ready and everything is down to the final preparations but Gretchen is completely freaking out over all the final wedding details…down to the last details. She keeps firing people and taking on their tasks by herself. What possibly could go wrong??
Hunter is not even realizing Gretchen’s dilemmas, however he is there for her whenever she needs him to do something to help. Its just she doesn’t mention much about the wedding, she is trying to keep things positive to show she can handle things so Hunter just gives her help and to keep her sane. But then there is something going on with Hunter when this mysterious woman shows up. Gretchen sees her and the item she brings and wonders what is going on when Hunter doesn’t share what it is between them. Now Gretchen has even more going on to worry about.
There is a great supporting cast of characters in this book and a sub story regarding Daphne and her recovery from being that drug addict. She , in the previous books, was so hated and now in this books, I felt so bad for her because she really was trying. You got to meet her life coach and trainer Wesley with whom she has deep feelings for, more than just employer/employee type. Her story will make you sit up and cheer.
There is also some quick touch bases with some other prevuious characters from other books which was great. It was like old home week and I loved how the novella story ended. There was the buildup, the tension, angst, oh there definitely was humor and when it all went down, it was awesome. The ending was just what was needed. I cannot wait for the next book in this series. Kudos to Jessica Clare for writing such books that grab my attention and keep it, for that’s hard to do. These characters have a zest for life and yes, there is the angst and tension and problems but by the end of the story, all is resolved and there is a HFN/HEA resolution for the characters involved.

My rating: 4.5 stars ****

Beauty and the Billionaire: The Wedding by Jessica Clare
Gretchen & Hunter & So much more
SHORT, TO THE POINT, AND OH SO GOOD!
5 Stars

So, this is a perfect little novella follow up to Gretchen and Hunters book Beauty and the Billionaire. It’s a novella so it’s short but sweet. It gets right to the point AND leads you right into another story that I think has been stirring in Jessica’s head for a while now. .

Gretchen is planning her wedding to Hunter, but seems to be freaking way the heck out over every tiny details. She keeps firing people and taking on their tasks by herself. What could possibly go wrong.

Hunter is oblivious to Gretchen’s dilemmas, however he’s there to help, he just doesn’t know how or what to do. He has some things up his sleeve as well and he’s trying hard to keep them under wraps.

The supporting characters cast is pretty vast. I’ll only touch on a few. Daphne (Gretchen’s sister) is back in the picture and doing quite well or so it would seem. She’s a recovering drug addict and trying to mend fences with her two sisters. Her trainer and life coach Wesley is heavily in the picture and I’m thinking we might see more of him in the future.

The storyline is eventful, but not too hectic! So much going on and it’s packaged in this quick read. The writing style is impeccable and the pacing is perfect. The characters are likable and hilarious. The tension is immediate and the climax flawless. Loved it!

I loved this novella, my favorite couple out of this series was Hunter and Gretchen so seeing the novella based on those two had me all giddy. I fell in love with Hunter all over again that man is truly devoted to Gretchen, “I love you and I can’t believe you’ve made yourself so much to worry about over the last few months .” He gave her an exasperated look and took her hand in his, then kissed the palm. “I’d throw you down on this sofa and demonstrate just how much I want you to be my wife, but I need to show you something first.” We saw a glimpse of Daphne turning over a new leaf so I'm hoping there will either be a book or novella about her.

A lovely snapshot into the Billionaire Boys Club world. We get to re-connect with Gretchen and her sisters. The Book focused quite heavily on Daphne and Wes, which I didn't expect and focused on her path to recovery. I don't know why I can't warm to Daphne but it was a humongus difference to the Daphne we were introduced to in Gretchen and Hunter's story. I would've ideally liked to have seen more of the of the other billionaire couples to have featured in the story.

So...I liked the first book. I loved Hunter and could tolerate Gretchen. But this epilogue totally sucked!

There was almost no Hunter and not even that much Gretchen. But she was still pretty annoying, although tolerable.

What I did NOT expect was that the majority of the book seemed to be about Daphne - the drugged out bitch whore of a sister! I had ZERO interest in reading anything about her and felt totally cheated! She is such an unlikable (is there a stronger word?) character in previous books.

So thanks (NOT) Ms. Clare for ruining what could have been a wonderful epilogue in an effort to try to stir up interest in your most hated character for an upcoming book.

Not quite as good as the previous stories as this was about one of the weddings. Also a lot of new character's put into the story for the spin off series. Think it would have been better of we had read about these character's through the other books.

I have been meaning to read this novella for four years now, ever since it was released back in 2016. I've read (and loved) all the other books of the Billionaire Boys Club Series, and I had only this one story left to read before I could officially complete it. Yet for some reason, I just never got around to picking it up, and whilst on the one hand I am absolutely kicking myself for not having read this fun and humorous romance sooner, on the other hand I'm glad I read this story when I did, because I truly believe that had I read this novella before now, I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as I did.

I just feel like on any other day, this book would've been too short a read for me; there would've been too much focus on Gretchen and Hunter - who already have a novel: Beauty and the Billionaire - and too little focus on Daphne and Wesley - who have no novel, but definitely deserve one.

However, today of all days, I just wanted to read a short, gripping, light-hearted and fast-paced story that'd melt my heart and warm my soul. I wanted a read that was a part of a series I've already read, but was a book I hadn't read in itself; I wanted a read that'd feel like coming home, you know? And Beauty and the Billionaire: The Wedding just ticked all the boxes perfectly of what I wanted to read. It was a fun-loving, festive, heart-warming and hilarious story to devour in one sitting, and it sucked me in from the very first page as we follow Gretchen for the majority of this novella as she's ready to marry the love of her life, but finds that everything that could go wrong when leading up to ones wedding, does. And we follow Daphne too as she struggles with her sobriety and her feelings for her life coach, all the while she's determined to reconnect with the family she's always let down.

I absolutely adored Gretchen and Hunter's story in this novella, and I was immediately reminded why it is these two are fan favourites of this series - they were such a cute couple together, and I'm honestly tempted to reread their book again just to get more from them already. More than that though, I absolutely loved Daphne and Wesley and their little story here as well - a very little story that I do wish was longer, and had more depth and development to it than all that we actually got here, but I can't deny that if this is all we actually get from them, I'm happy with how it all played out. And lastly, I LOVED seeing Audrey and Reese again (my favourites of this series), and catching up with how they and their little family is doing.

I just loved this novella, period. And I LOVED seeing all the characters of this series again.

I also loved getting to meet the characters of the spin-off series, Billionaires and the Bridesmaids. I haven't read those books yet (obviously), but I have them on my Kindle, and I'm now very excited to dive back into Jessica Clare's billionaire world, and find more characters and more stories from her to fall head over heels in love with.

This novella is about Hunter and Gretchen getting ready for their wedding. Gretchen is just as over the top and she's always been and Hunter is so in love with Gretchen and the things he does shows how much he loves her. I have to say they are one of my favorite couples in this series. I love how Gretchen has taken Hunter out of his shell.

Daphne Gretchen's sister has a rough road to try to stay clean and sober with the help of Wesley. Wesley was her trainer and life coach. We see love blooming between them and I hope there's a book about them. I love this series. Reviewed on behalf of Once Upon An Alpha.

When I first started reading this, I was admittedly a little disappointed that it wasn't ONLY about Gretchen and Hunter's wedding. If you read my reviews on the earlier books in this series, you know I'm not a huge fan (understatement of the year) of Daphne. I thought she was a self-centered, spoiled brat — and other less flattering things, too. I didn't think I wanted to read any more about her. I didn't know if she actually deserved a happily ever after, after the way she treated everyone around her throughout the book. But, I trusted the author and kept reading because I hoped she was going to give me the story I didn't even know I wanted. And that's exactly what she did. In hindsight, a story SOLELY about Gretchen and Hunter's wedding would've been kind of boring. I think Daphne's storyline with her life coach, Wesley, added a little extra oomph to the story and, honestly, made me enjoy it all the more. It was nice to see her redeem herself and try to rebuild her relationship with her sisters.

There was plenty of Gretchen and Hunter in this novella, too, so don't worry. I adored this couple in their original book, Beauty and the Billionaire, so I was happy to get a little more of their love story in this novella. Gretchen was a bit of a mess in this book, but I felt like I understood where she was coming from. Planning a wedding is stressful... and she's a bit of a perfectionist. It was hard for her to let go. I mean, baking for 200 people? That's exactly the kind of stuff you PAY people to do for you, to lessen the stress on yourself. You know, especially when you're marrying a billionaire and money isn't an issue. But, I digress. Hunter and Gretchen's love is strong. He's still as swoony as ever. I loved getting to see them get their happily ever after. I wish there had been a little bit more sexy times, but I guess you can only do so much with 90 pages.

I am so glad Jessica decided to write another novella in her Billionaire Boys Club series. I wasn't quite ready to give these characters up quite yet and The Wedding novella was a perfect curtain call for this great cast of characters. Since it's under 100 pages, it's a super quick read-in-one-sitting type of book that I thoroughly enjoyed. Fans of the series might have mixed feelings because, well Daphne didn't exactly give us any reason to root for her throughout the series, but go in open-minded and you might enjoy it more than you expect.

I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
