Caitlin Moore isn’t sure how she developed the rare fae Gift of the Warding, but her life hasn’t been the same since the night it emerged. She never thought she’d trade in her high heels for combat boots, but the desperate quest to return four fae strangers home to dethrone their mad High King has taken over her life.
In exchange for the use of her Gift, her new friends have taught her to fight back against the monsters that are feeding on hapless humans and threatening those she loves. Now, she is finally ready to face the evil that lurks in the shadows of her beloved city.

Robin writes the dark and snarky, emotionally-driven urban fantasy series The Warding. "Iron" was her first full-length publication, and its sequel, "Faster," was released in fall of 2016. She has also written "First Hunt," the first of many short stories set in the Warding world. Another short story is expected to be released in early 2017.
She is hard at work on the next full length book in the series, "The Last Dance."
Caitlin, I've missed you! First Hunt brings back the darkness, sarcasm, and wit that made me fall in love with and devour Iron. It filled in behind the scenes action that I had been itching curious about, and has managed to give me the creeps over mundane things the way only Steven Moffat normally can. Thanks for that. I love the idea of being able to have a short story to help me to be slightly more patient in awaiting the next installment of the series, and this was a great action-packed edge-of-your-seat read!
I've been eagerly awaiting the sequel to Iron, but First Hunt is the next best thing. It follows Caitlin on her first hunt, putting her new skills to work. The suspense is punctuated by Caitlin's sarcastic and smart-ass comments, a voice I've missed since I finished Iron. This short story was the perfect thing to sate my appetite until the sequel is done.
