Chronicling every Oscar winner, in all categories, from 1927 to 1994, a lively exploration of Hollywood studios, great comedians, and blockbuster movies includes special emphasis on the Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Actress categories, anecdotes, and amazing film stills.

The longest I have ever had a library book, with multiple renewals. The book covers the Oscars from their inception in 1927 and goes right through to 1991. Each edition of the Academy Awards is summarised in five pages and I read one year per day (with a few days when I didn't read). I feel a lot more knowledgeable about films, directors, actors etc. through the decades and loved the five-page format. All of the information contained within the book could probably have been Googled, but the book brought it all to life and made it more memorable. A top read.
