Things are heating up in the city…

After last month's confrontation with a dragon, Allish Statia has fallen into an easy routine of rehabilitation and training. With her trusted friend and mentor, she's started learning basic mage spells, elemental control, and the intricacies of mage society.

The peace ends when an assassin shows up in her husband's office.

With her unique abilities, Allish is able to drive him off—but when footage of the fight leaks, it puts her in the cross-hairs of every powerful mage in the city. Soon, she is running for her life in a world of dark magic, science, and corruption, and it's going to take every ounce of her new powers if she wants to stay alive.

Tempest is the second and penultimate novella in La Sylphide, an elemental fantasy series set in modern times. If you like your fantasy with hard edges and fast battles, download a sample or buy Tempest today.

Title: Tempest
Author: K. Gorman
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Format: Ebook
Pages: 157
Rating: 5
Heat: 0

Thoughts: I am absolutely loving this series! It's urban fantasy but doesn't seem to be on this world (guess I need to read the other series lol). Allish is so awesome, even with her disability she just kicks ass! And I love the fact that she has that twinge in her leg due to a previous accident, it just makes it that more realistic and believable. Even lacking information she willingly puts herself in harm’s way, but as soon as she figures something out, oh is it on! She seems very naive but smart and intuitive, but I'm sure some of that is due to the Sylph spirit. I wonder about her husband, Ivern. He's very protective of her which I get but I'm hoping that he finally sees that she can help and if/when that happens I think they will make an awesome magical team.

I would love to see what happens in this book as a movie.

The first book Sylphide is good and I gave it 4 stars and the second one Tempest I gave 5 stars because I feel that it stepped up and went even further.

I just finished it about 5 minutes ago and I am still thinking about what has happened.

I am a big K. Gorman fan and I hope that you will be too.

Redeemed

I was bored with Mieshka, Allish has much more power, and the story is more interesting. I look forward to marathon reading of Palace of Glass.
