Gloria Laura Vanderbilt was an American artist, author, actress, fashion designer, heiress, and socialite. She was a member of the Vanderbilt family of New York and the mother of CNN television anchor Anderson Cooper. Wikipedia

Gloria Laura Vanderbilt was the author of four memoirs and two novels. She contributed to various publications, including The New York Times, Vanity Fair, and Elle, and has received two honorary Doctorates of Fine Arts. She lived in New York City.

High camp value. Pink gingham ceiling in Southampton? Check. Tiny Anderson Cooper? Check. I loved looking through her enormous glasses in the how-to photos. (They do not appear in her majestic dust-jacket portrait.) My favorite collage is the bedroom floor covered in hundreds of pieces of fabric, cut precisely to prevent overlap, and painted with "many coats of varnish." Who can tell me how that extremely labor-intensive project held up?

this book was probably epic and cutting edge in 1970...but now, it's just old fashioned and dated.

I wanted to see it because i love GV.
