OMG this storyline was so amazing and it was so heartfelt it's like Antonia couldn't win for losing and I just hope that Porsha do to Rick what somebody should have been done because for him to take her innocence like that just disgusts me I just hope that in part 2 Antonia get what she really deserves because she didn't ask for none of this in her life. Jaheim is a great fit for her life and I just hope that he do good by her. This book really had me crying some real tears well done Diamond Johnson

Ms Diamond Johnson brought us a tale that would pull at the heartstrings of the most jaded individual. We are introduced to Antonia who finds herself living in a world of chaos, turmoil, abuse, and degradation. Antonia's mother died of a drug overdose and her father was killed when she was a newborn baby. After the demise of her mother she went to live with her Aunt and from that day forward her life became hell on earth. Her only means of escape from the constant physical, mental, and emotional abuse was her after school job and school. She used school as her outlet and motivation to be the best in order to escape from her mental prison. While going through life merely existing she meets Jaheim and the sun begins to shine for the first time in all of her years of living. From finding her self-worth, realizing that she is indeed worthy of love, and finding her voice to stand up for herself things begin to look up for Antonia. This book was a little different from anything else that I've read by Ms. Diamond Johnson but that isn't a bad thing. The authentic voice that Ms. Diamond allowed to bleed through the words on the pages gripped my heart in a vice and had me equal parts appalled, angry, and saddened that this young girl was experiencing things that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. What I found to be very refreshing was the fact that Ms. Diamond Johnson stepped outside of the normal box and wrote from a very raw and starkly vulnerable place allowing every ounce of pain to infuse with the very words on the pages. Kudos Ms. Johnson. This book in my opinion has to be the best project that I've read by you thus far. I can't wait to see how the rest of this gripping saga is going to play out.

Wow... I just hmmm I just wow.

This baby goes through so freaking much in this book I was about to stop reading it. I found myself being pissed off, like to the point where I had to just put down my tablet and walk away.

Now... lets see this part two and I am wondering why all of a sudden this person comes to her rescue at the end... didn't expect that at all.. but it will be interesting to see why.

I hope in the the next book we can see her happy, like over the top happy with the drama of course.

Jah.. this guy is rough but pretty freaking great.. can't wait to see how this grows.

All cried out

OMG, I cried crocodile tears from the start of this book. To read about the abuse this young lady had to endure was heart breaking. I was glad to see she had a little bit of happiness. The aunt needs her tail beat. And the boyfriend Rick needs to be castrated. I can't wait for part 2. Please don't make us wait too long!

This book was very detailed and allows you to feel connected to the characters. I actually finished it in one day. What really drew me to it was the title. I'm a Miami girl myself so I just had to read it!

I love the storyline of this book.
It's the story of a teenaged girl named Antonia who feels she is alone in the world. Her parents have passed away and she now lives with her resentful and abusive aunt.

Antonia finds her hood knight in shining amor; Jaheim. Their love has just begun to blossom at the end of this novel. I'm excited to see how their love story plays out in the following books.

Not bad, but HELLA EDITS need to be done. I'm far from the grammar police, but grammar and continuity do matter in a story. How can you have a kutha**** change from a dress to jeans in the same story sequence?!?!? If you're going to be hyper descriptive then get it right!!!!!!!👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥👍🏾🔥

Antonia and Jahiem

I love Antonia and Jahiems story. Antonia had a hard life growing up, and Jah was the best thing that has ever happened to her. Her Aunt made me want to reach into my kindle and just choke her out for all of the abuse that she did to Antonia. I hope that she gets what she deserves in part 2. Thus book had my emotions all over the place. No one deserved to be treated the way that Antonia was treated. I hope that her so called friend Tacarra gets what she deserves as well. I hope that I don't have to wait too long for part 2.

This was my first time reading a book written by this author. This book is not my usual type of book to read, but I started reading the sample and I couldn't put it down. I purchased the book and I was so intrigued that I couldn't stop reading. There were certain parts of the book that as a mother and a woman it was very hard for me to read. I had to keep reminding myself that this is fiction, although these situations really do happen in real life. This is a very emotional story and I can't wait for the next installment.

I have never really shed tear for a book until I read this one. At the hands of her Antonia life is a living hell. The abuse is something serious. On top of that her so call friend betrays her. Along the way however Antonia walks into a breath of fresh air and finds some type of scolice. Still there is fact she has back to hell on top of that she finds the reason she is hated so much. When everything looks to be going good here come Rick, but there is a saving grace surprisingly.

This book was amazing... I love how she never let her being in a awful living environment. Deter her from her ultimate goal which was getting into college. With this new found love that she has with Jah, I hope he treats her like she deserves to be treated. This book was waaay to short, but I loved every single page. Your books never disappoint me.

Great read

Antonia has been dealt a tough hand, luckily for her Jaheim is her knight in shining armor. Her aunt needs to be put in jail with her ole jealous behind. I am so glad that Antonia saw that Tacarra wasn't truly her friend. I don't wanna give the story away but this is a must read Diamond Johnson always delivers that heat. 5⭐️ certified read

Poor Antonia

After hearing so much about this book, I finally decided to read it and I was not disappointed. The things Antonia went thru in the book was unbelievable and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I like Jahiem's character and the relationship between him and Antonia. I will definitely read part 2.

Lord I felt so sorry for Antonia. The poor child couldn't catch a break. And her aunt needs to suffer some serious pain for mistreating Antonia. And Tacarra is the worst friend ever. I hope jahiem stays true to Antonia.

5 ⭐️ Re-Read Review – Little Miami Girl Series (All Three Books)

This reread hit me the exact same way it did the first time, and that alone says everything about how powerful the Little Miami Girl series really is. The story is still just as emotional, just as gripping, and just as unforgettable. Instead of reviewing each book separately, I’m reviewing the entire series together because my feelings stayed strong and consistent from beginning to end.

Antonia’s story was heartbreaking, heavy, and real. From everything she endured growing up, all I wanted for her was peace, love, and stability. She deserved happiness. She deserved to feel safe. And most importantly, she deserved the family she gained through being with Jah — not just him, but the friendships, the loyalty, and the circle that came with loving him. Watching her finally receive that kind of support and belonging felt earned and deeply satisfying.

Jah’s presence in her life changed everything, and seeing their relationship grow into something protective, steady, and full of care made this series feel complete. I was genuinely happy with how everything wrapped up. It didn’t feel rushed or forced — it felt right.

Finishing this reread reminded me why I fell in love with this author in the first place. It honestly made me want to go back and start rereading all of her books because there are still so many I haven’t gotten to yet.

And Jah? Yeah… he’s solidly secured his spot on my top 10 book bae list.

Antonia is a 17 year old girl who is suffering from some serious issues. She is a beautiful girl, but, like many, she suffers from a poor self-image and often feels distanced from her peers.

Jaheim, on the other hand, is an extremely popular business man who is well respected in the community. He and Antonia meet under unusual circumstances, and an unlikely friendship is born.

This book was a true page turner. I started it at work and continued reading it after a 12 hour shift because I wanted to see what would happen next between Antonia and Jaheim. The author hooked you in from the first few pages and held your attention all the way to the end.

The ending leaves an air of suspense, though it was cut kind of short. I am definitely interested in part two. Great job!

Definitely A Five Star Read

This is one of those stories that will have you cussing out characters as if they can hear you. Antonia was a strong young woman . She was dealt a horrible hand in life but she didn't let it break her. Her Aunt need to somebody to put hands and feet on her for the way she treated Antoinia. Antonia Aunt was jealous of her for something she had no control over and was beating on this girl like a slave. I'm glad Jahiem was her saving grace. Tacarra was a ole hating two faced tramp. She knew what Antonia was going through at home. Instead of being there she added duel to the fire. I cant stand chicks like her. They smile in your face and be fake as hell behind your back.

Good, a little slow but good

This is another enduring introduction because it was very real and hard to read...
Antonia, wow, and you still was able to do all of your high school and still going to college... You go beautiful girl... Now it's time to stop feeling sorry for yourself and grow up
Jaheim, glad you came to your senses quick because this is a gem in a haystack and you almost lost her... You are bae though, tend to sound a like a little kid, but it's all good...
Porsha, thank you I think, well at leas until we read part 2 to make sure that you don't have nothing behind what you did, thanks anyways.
Tacarra, Meccah, and the others, let's not have Karma come through yet to you guys, specially Rick...
Let's see how part 2 is..

Little Miami Girl

I absolutely loved this book! It was so good! Antonia, bless her heart! She is so sweet, loving and sees the good in people and situations. I just want her to win. And Jaheim! Omg! I wish he was real. He is so protection and loving to Antonia which is something she really needed. The way his family just fell in love with her warms my heart bc that family of hers is something else. Especially that auntie. The cousin Porsha seems to be a follow the leader type. She does what she thinks will laughs out of her mom. Do not like Tacarra at all. She is a horrible friend to Antonia. And Rick...I hope he gets his. That's all. This was my first read from this author and she had me.at the first page.

Antonia’s life was something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. Reading her story had me sitting there like… why bring a child into your home if you have no intention of loving or protecting them?

The moment she had to write about what love meant to her and admitted she had never experienced it completely shattered me. 💔

No matter what she did, it was never enough. And when she finally realized she had been pouring love into everyone around her without ever receiving it in return? Yeah… that part broke me all over again.

It really felt like she was suffering in silence while the world just watched. No help. No love.

And that cliffhanger?! Yeah, I’m running straight to book two because I need answers ASAP.

Damn this book walk everything

I learned about this book by reading reviews about another one of her series and I’m glad I decided to download a s read “Little Miami Girl” I could get into this book more in depth but I’m not. I will say this tho...Antonia had it bad by the hands of her own aunt and older cousin. Taccara was a hater and she’s the type of friend that you don’t need. I hope Antonia boss up and whip her ass. Jah was everything that Antonia needed. I’m happy he could be her peace. How about Porsha at the end?! I hope they don’t turn on Antonia. I can’t wait until she start her next chapter in life. She definitely needs a break.
