Wild Heart #2

Change of Heart

Rate this book
The Wild Heart Rescue is on its last leg, and unless Eli can land one of the local grants, he’ll have to close within the year. He can’t afford distractions—not from the staff who up and quit or the gorgeous man walking in the door to surrender his dog.

Oscar’s chewed through Caleb’s home, his last pair of shoes, and now, his job. That mutt’s gotta go. But when Caleb arrives at the shelter, the man running the front desk leaves him tongue-tied.

Eli could use the extra help, and Caleb still has bills to pay. His experience in marketing doesn’t hurt, either.

Can their combined efforts save the shelter, or will this pair disband along with all the animals?

Change of Heart is the second book in the Wild Heart universe. This is a standalone novella and includes a HEA with no cliffhangers.

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review

We first met Eli in A Fighting Chance as the shelter owner where Greg was a vet. Eli is a total workaholic because he cares so much about the shelter and the animals there. Eli has such a big heart. Caleb is a guy who is being thrown through the ringer and is having a string of bad luck. He goes to the shelter to find a new home for his dog, but Eli sees that Caleb doesn't really want to get rid of him. He helps him with some suggestions to make things better. Eventually, they become friends, Eli offers Caleb a job, and the two give in to their attraction to each other.

The guys had good chemistry together, and it was a nice angst-free read. I like the author's style of writing. It feels comfortable to me, and I was at ease reading this. I was glad to see Jasper and Greg again, and I would really love to find out more about Rob's mystery guy. :-)

I received an early copy of this book for an honest review.
This is the second book in the series and I loved it. I fell in lust with the characters in this book. Caleb a lost soul just looking for a place where some appreciates him and he's got a cute dog. Great combination. We met Eli in the first book in the series, and in this one we learn much more about what makes him tick. He is a complicated man.
I laughed, I cried and didn't want it to end. This book grabbed me from the first page and I was invested right to the end.
It is a great afternoon, sit back and relax read.
5 stars all around.

An enjoyable read

This was great addition to the series. Written as a multi pov with a hea. We get to see the characters from the previous books, but the do no takeover the story.
