Excellent. I loved the way characters.
I don't usually get books in series but after the first one I had to read the next one. Clay and Jenny were in love but were so young. They made some bad choices and Jenny ended up married to Clay's best friend. After Joseph died, Clay and Jenny talked about some things that happened in the past. I won't say more as I don't want to spoil the plot. It had some surprises and unexpected turns. It was well written and I highly recommend it.

The Memory Box: Small Town Romance: Comfort Crossing Book 2 is by Kay Correll. This book is one you will not be able to put down. Keep the tissues handy as you read. The characters and the plot are so realistic you find yourself totally involved in the action.
Jenny Brouchard has lived in Comfort Crossing all her life. Her family is wealthy and her Father lords it over everyone. Jenny attended the private school in town but she didn’t feel entitled because of her family at all. Jenny was well-liked by everyone. After her long-time boyfriend broke up with her, she married his best friend, Joey Brouchard and had a son, Nathan. They were happy until Joey contracted cancer and died. Now Jenny was left with a very hurt teenaged son who started letting his grades go and started getting in trouble with the law. She was struggling with trying to get through to Nathan and keep her own sanity. Luckily, she has her best friends- Julie and Becky Lee to help her.
Dr. Clay Miller has returned to Comfort Crossing with his two daughters. His wife had left them and his oldest daughter was acting out and the younger one stopped talking. He hoped coming to his hometown and his Mother would help his girls find their compass again. Meanwhile, he was helping out at the clinic while Doc Baker took a vacation. He was grateful that Nathan was very nice and included his daughter Katie in this friendship. However, their friendship meant that Clay and Jenny would be seeing more of each other than they figured on.

Continuing the Comfort Crossing series with book 2. This one featuring one of the lifelong friends from this small town in Mississippi. This one features Jenny's story. She is a school teacher with one son, Nathan who is in a rebellious stage after the death of his father. Jenny is frustrated with him and harboring a secret that has spanned years and she is conflicted about what to do about it is. Only her two best friends know her story, Bella and Becky Lee.
Dr. Clay Miller comes back to Comfort Crossing to substitute for the town doctor who is taking a vacation. He doesn't intend to stay but was raised here and has brought his two daughters with him who have been troubling him since his wife left him.
This is the story of Clay and Jenny. It was crafted well, albeit predictably, but a whole lot of enjoyable reading, with a myriad of emotions that will have you quickly turning the pages. The small town of Comfort Crossing makes you feel like you want to visit it and set a spell with the delightful characters.
What I like about this series is that characters from the previous novel are also included in the next one, continuing their story as a background to the main story line. Easy to read, not overloaded and dragged out. Happy to recommend it to lovers of small town romance with colorful characters.

The Memory Box was the 2nd in the Comfort Crossing series by Kay Correll. The books are about three very best friends since childhood, Bella, Jenny, and Becky Lee. This book centered on Jenny and gives evidence to the heartaches secrets can bring. I loved this book. I love the characters. These are not goody-goody characters. These are real life people with real life problems and real life joys. I look forward to The Letter, which is Book 3. 5*

Story 3.75 - For something that is a cross between Chick-Lit and Romance. This is a good series.
The series has multiple entries and all are short reads just under 200 pages each. But each pack a lot of material, but not rushed. It's a balanced work that contains emotions, a little laughter and small town ensemble cast support.
Details but not to much, emotions that feel real and enough caring to keep you coming back.

Hero not a likable guy, Heroine kind of a doormat.
I enjoyed the first book in this series, The Shop On Main, so bought this one, the second in the series. However, I was very disappointed. The hero came across as a real jerk, and the heroine, who had valid reasons for her actions, just rolled over and took the verbal nonsense from the hero. Reminded me of romances written in the 80's when men dominated and women were subjugated. Not my cup of tea.

A total disappointment. The hero of this story is such a jerk. He blames everything on the heroine when the problem actually started with him. What in the world is the problem when you get two women pregnant within a couple of years? Did he not figure out how it happened?? Ruined the book for me.
Hero was an a$$ and I despised him. What a wasted afternoon. I can't get those hours of my life back!

#2 in the Comfort Crossing series was as good as the first book and held true to the small town, home spun, loving feel of the first book.
I enjoyed all the characters in the first book and was pleased to see them all continue on in this novel.

03/04/16 Jenny & Clay This was nicely done. With lots of smiles and tears. Trust can be so frightening. Secrets can be overwhelming. Love falls into so many categories. The fallout after so long will be painful and confusing. But all that love helps.

The Memory Box is a heart breaking tale about living with the consequences of teenage decisions and the impact of those consequences on all they touch. The tale is an emotional read about human doubt and angst. It's a romance novel folks. So, romance readers know there's a happy ending.

What happens when your teenager son acts out after his father dies? How does your ex-boyfriend deal with his teenage daughter getting into trouble? This book is about secrets and dealing with the consequences of the actions people took as a result. Of those secrets.
I enjoyed the small town where this story took place, even more I felt comfortable with all the people whose lives are depicted in this story. They felt like friends and the children of friends. As the secrets were revealed, I felt the reactions and emotions of everyone involved. It felt authentic. What I would expect from friends facing similar revelations.

Regrets
Too many to count. Age old story. Boy and girl in love. One wrong side of the tracks, boy gets girl pregnant and all hell proceeds to break loose! Boy oh boy this was tedious tugging at the heat strings wanting to slap each and everyone of them. Comfort Crossing is no different than any town in the world. Only so many stories are out there, and so many morals to be learned.
This is a cozy. Not a thriller or crime ridden novel. All's well that ends well. No spoiler.
Typos and trugging through narrative made me drop this to a two star.

I would like it better if the Hero left the heroine without the intervention of her father.
I don’t like that sort of excuse for the Hero. And poor Joseph...Then the story drag on when the heroine seems incapable to reveal the truth. Then how is this possible that the boy wasn’t tested for alcohol level at the hospital? The story picked up a bit when the Hero behaved like a self righteous jerk. Overall too much holes in the plot.

Kay you did it again!
This series is wonderful - each one better than the last. I don't want the series to end. I want these characters to be my friends and feel like I've lost them when the book ends. I have never laughed and cried so much while reading a book! Keep writing - you're good.

I love this series! The Memory Box is Book #2 in the Comfort Crossing series but you can read this book independently of Book #1. This is a story about Jenny and Clay and how their lives have reconnected after a high school romance. So many twists and turns with this series keeps you want to turn the page quicker and quicker.

Comfort Crossing sounds like a quaint town that I would want to visit. I also enjoyed the author's description of New Orleans when Clay and Jenny went to pick up medical research records. Secrets are often necessary, but we learn that they can impact many. If possible, truth is better.

I read this as if it was written by a good friend who'd finished her first book. I gave it a lot of "Grace". Some of the exposition should have been in the author's voice. Too many of the characters repeating character traits and backstory, over and over. I enjoyed the story and the lightness of the plot but I wish the Hero was more worthy of the heroine.

Another great story
I really enjoyed this story. So many secrets and so many life changing things to deal with. Understanding the why's and how they affect each of them, the hurts and feelings of betrayal, the forgiveness and acceptance, the healing pandemics that survives; it's what makes life worth living! It makes you stop and wonder, what if?

Not the best
Clay would have been gone!!!! What a jerk! Everything with him was me, me, me! No freaking way. He was worse than her dad! Uh uh!! Wish I could have liked this book better. Too bad Joseph died.

Good Fast Read
This was an easy fast read. Just what I needy during the holiday season. The southern charm is endearing and makes the book special. I will continue to read her books during times that I need something easy and light.

Better than the first in the series. I liked the characters and the plot. Please don't look for a synopsis in my review because I don't do it. Buy it and read it if you want to know or read the back of the book, which is never satisfying. I am looking forward to reading the next installment.

Got me hooked
This second book in the series definitely had me hooked to the content. I found the plot engaging and realistic enough to keep me turning the pages. The author did a great job making the readers feel for the what the characters faced.

Wow!
This book was like a roller coaster ride. The secrets we keep, the choices we make and how they guide our path in life. How they affect us and everyone around us. How fear can control us. Such a great book. A must read for all.
