At eighteen, Derek Stillwell fell in love with the girl next door, his best friend and confidante, Sylvia Antley. But youth, time, and circumstance separated them. Eight years later, Derek has the chance to make up for all the mistakes, all the lost chances, if he will only grab hold of the opportunity. Sylvia Antley's world crashed around her at eighteen, and she lost everything--her future, her love, her hope. MAKING DREAMS COME TRUE I enjoyed this inspirational story that has friendship, family, dreams, heartache and second chances. Sylvia was raised by her grandmother, losing both parents. She is a good student and has ambitious dreams of going to college. Derek Stillwell came to live with his grandfather after the death of his parents. He and Sylvia have been best friends and neighbors, sharing their dreams for their future. Dreams are shattered, life changes due to circumstances, unspoken feelings, and miscommunications and sometimes it takes years to find happiness. The plot kept me captivated and the pages turning with heartwarming dialog, charming characters, and life-long friendships. Lovely clean romance. Misunderstandings complicate things for Sylvia & Derek, who had practically loved each other most of their lives. If you like Susette Williams and Leah Atwood, you'll love April Jenson too. It may be a novella, but it didn't feel like one. Well developed characters with the requisite complications to pull you through the story quickly. Takes about 2 delightful hours to read. I'm glad to have it in my library.
