THE GIRL WHO MAKES YOU GIGGLE ON GOGGLEBOX

"I don't go on red carpets. If a photographer ever shouted out "who are you wearing?" I'd be like, "Me mam's top, me mate Sarah's jeans and some shoes from the TopShop sale."

Meet Scarlett. You might recognise her as one of the funniest women on television from her appearances on the hit Channel Four show Gogglebox.

Now, in Scarlett Says, Scarlett Moffat turns her attention to life, the universe and everything in a book that will be utterly unlike any other celebrity autobiography you read. Find out why thigh gaps can get stuffed, Tindr photos won't make good stories for the grandkids, why tooth fairies are creepy little bastards, and much, much more, all in the hilarious down-to-earth voice that we've come to know and love.

You'll never look at things in the same way again when you hear what Scarlett Says.

No, I've no idea why I read this book either. It was there next to me when I finished my last book and I thought, "Why not, what's the worst that could happen?" It's essentially a long lifestyle magazine article. But as a ageing bloke it's not a magazine I would normally read, unless stuck at the dentist or that there hair place. The author is fine, the book is fine, I'm just not feeling it.

This book was so relatable! It covered so many topics, and made me laugh a lot. It was a fast paced books and was very down to earth. Although at the beginning I wasn't sure how I felt about it being written in the way Scarlett actually talks, but once I got a few topics in i felt like it made the book more personal to Scarlett and it helped me imagine her voice in my head reading the book!

I recommend this book highly to anyone who enjoys Scarlett on Gogglebox, or anyone who wants a fast paced, relatable, and easy read :) 4/5 stars

Just. Drivel. Everyone, when I was at University, started a lifestyle blog - myself included. This is what this is. Except people are paying for it. I’m probably just bitter.

You either like Scarlett or you don’t. I like her and always have. This book was really funny as I’d expected it to be and as i’ve always thought Scarlett is not as stupid as some people think she is.

“When being nice and kind gets you nowhere, don’t change the person you are, change the people you’re talking to!”

Scarlett Moffatt, one of the stars of the Channel 4 TV series Gogglebox, is an extremely witty and self-deprecating individual. This book, her autobiography, follows her thoughts on many weird and wonderful things about life, though it focuses heavily on nights out with her friends, dragging the tone down somewhat.

I listened to the audiobook, read by Scarlett, which was funny and filled with positive advice on being yourself, not what society wants you to be. The book as a whole was just okay; not one that I’m desperate to re-read in the future, but a light-hearted read nevertheless.

A funny book by one of my favourite people on 'Gogglebox' - I enjoyed her funny stories, at times laughing out loud, but also her views on serious matters as well.
I did sometimes find that, because the book is written the same way she speaks, the sentences can get a little confusing at times (which I also think was down to proofreading).

Scarlett Says is the debut book by Scarlett Moffatt the star of Gogglebox we all now know from also becoming a TV personality on ITV.

Funny, eye opening and a guide to all things Northern, Scarlett shares with us the best things from her favourite shows on TV modern and classic as well as tales of drunken nights and the effort going into them too prep wise!

She comes across as a down to earth girl whom has a strong sense of self and is confident in what she has to say and I have to agree with a lot of things she says and find her really relatable and a great personality to read a book by.s

Overall, if you like an eventful book and many views on various TV shows as well as funny memories, Scarlett will have something for you to enjoy in her book, a fun and vibrant debut!

I didn't expect anything especially deep from this you know? I think Scarlett is funny on TV and I wanted a light funny read what with it being summer and all, I didn't get much of that though. I did get a few laughs so it's not all bad but the book is mostly moan, moan, moan about inane things like what people are doing on facebook, twitter, instagram etc and then the last few chapters are all about her binge drinking routine. I'm 25 myself now so like I am the target market lol maybe the audiobook would've been better.

I'm not really the target audience for this book, yet despite on having nearly 30 years on Scarlett, & other than the obsession this generation have with social media, there was a fair bit I could relate to. Sometimes I felt she made quite a good point about life...

"The important thing is that you're happy with yourself, not that you look like someone who hasn't seen a biscuit for five years"

....but I got a bit fed up with all the fake tanning & binge drinking talk.

On the whole it's a fun read, that's easy to dip in & out of with footnotes that made me smile.

Loved this book. Scarlett is hilarious and I loved her comments. You can hear her voice as it's written in a way that you can imagine her saying it all. It's based on a few of her life events and some things she's learnt along the way. Almost all of which you can relate to if you are of similar age which I am.

I wanted to love this but it's full of Scarletts opinions on things that she thinks are unacceptable, but that are often things people do because they have a health issue, or another very real reason they are struggling with something. Scarlett mentions being nice quite a few times but really isn't. A sad read

Entertaining to start with but after about half way gets a bit annoying, just like some of her opinions! Contradicts herself somewhat. This is very light hearted and not at all challenging, but then it's the bird from goggle box so I wasn't expecting Shakespear.

Absolutely loved this book, I’ve never laughed out loud at a book simply because it’s so relatable and reminded me so much of all the hilariously embarrassing things you do growing up such as hair mascara, msn, blue eyeshadow and awful fake tan 😂

I think if you are a big fan or Scarlett then you’ll like it, if not then it’s not worth it to be honest. It did drag and was quite repetitive, I wish it had more about her growing up and her life than her opinions on certain things. Overall was okay but wouldn’t read again.

Just a bit of light and fluffy reading for some escapism. Very funny. I particularly liked the section about beards!
