Stitch is one of my favorite Disney characters. I was thrilled to see him in a manga.
The first half Stitch was so one dimensional, he ate, acted naughty, and got kicked, beaten and things thrown at him. The fun family connection made int he original series was lost to me in this. He is not with Lilo for the first half, but with a girl called luna who told him he must do 43 good deeds to get a wish granted by a rock. Luna is an angry girl, quick tempered and not very likable to this reader.
Luckily the second half of the books brought back Lilo, and they had adventure after adventure of fun. The humor was there they had fun. Stitch was still naughty, that's who he is, but it was taken with humor and love, Ohana.
The illustrations were fair not great,. the action was okay, the intersection on the second half what I expect from Lilo and Stitch. I might continue the series if it sticks with Lilo and Stitch I wouldn't miss never seeing Luna again.

This is really just for big fans of Stitch or for young children. It's as series of moments Stitch shares with a girl named Yuna in Japan. And then at the end there are a couple of moments between Stitch and Lilo in Hawaii. I'm happy I own it, because Stitch means everything to me, but I don't recommend it to anyone. (And I'm not happy Wendy' dress is explained by them "loving cosplay".)

Okay, I'm extremely biased for this because I am a Huge HUGE Lilo and Stitch fan. It is literally a movie I have watched a million times. This manga just didn't have the same energy to me as the movies or the TV series.
The Manga starts out where Stitch ends up in Japan instead of Hawaii. He has always been a bit of a troublemaker, but this was more then just a bit and came off more over the top and a bit obnoxious. This version of Stitch just wasn't it for me. Also, I realized how much of a gap Lilo's absence left in the story. Yuna is the girl Stitch befriends in Japan, and while I liked her, she just didn't fill the Lilo sized void. I feel you can't have stitch without Lilo and really make it work. Lilo started teaching Stitch to do better and while they touched on this with Yuna, it wasn't as obvious as it was in the movie. I know this portion of the Manga served a different audience, but for me it didn't pass the vibe check.
Half way through the Manga we switched to Hawaii with Lilo, which was definitely better for me. The switch felt completely disjointed though because it is almost like there are two Stitches on earth, one in Hawaii and one in Japan. There is no explanation of how these two stories tied together, just that they do.
I know this Manga is more kid oriented and it is supposed to be for all ages, but I just didn't enjoy this. This is probably the most disappointing read ever considering how much the Stitch fandom means to me.

First of all, this is so adorable!
In this manga, instead of going to Hawaii, Stitch finds himself in a Japanese island and there he meets Yuna, who become his "ichariba choodee" which means "meet once, cousins forever"
While this book is a little juvenile it is such an enjoyable read, especially if you love Lilo & Stitch! Each chapter is a short story of Stitch trying to complete a "good deed" in order for the "Chitama Stone" to grant his wish of being the "strongest in the universe" but, as expected, it turns out to be Stitch getting in trouble and Yuna trying to make things right. And the art is so beautiful!
But if you are team Lilo & Stitch forever and always, do not worry because this manga also contains Lilo stories! And they are also extremely adorable!
I would recommend this to everyone, no matter how old you are, who likes this Disney movies & loves the cutest alien on Earth!

The writing style is a little hard to read on a computer, so at times it was difficult to understand where the story was going. I didn't engage with the story as the main character seems overly aggressive; she keeps kicking Stitch and appears to have trouble only just stopping herself from swearing at him, something a child of her age shouldn't be having issues with. I did stop reading the story part way through and just followed the illustrations. I did enjoy the illustrations of Stitch though he was rather flat. I also enjoyed the Lilo and Stitch stories at the end.

I loved this manga. Stitch being my favorite Disney character, it couldn't have been any other way. These little Stitch stories were really funny. He's so endearing with his clumsiness.

This was my first magna and it was adorable. 'I always wondered if there was a stitch graphic novel and then I found it. I’m definitely gonna keep on reading. It was really signified stitch.

'Disney Stitch! Volume 1' by Yumi Tsukirino is a manga version of Lilo and Stitch and Yuna and Stitch. It's a series of short funny stories involving the escaped experiment from space.
In the first part of the book, Stitch is living with Yuna and her grandmother on the Okinawan island of Izayoi. Familiar characters Dr. Jumba and Pleakley show up as well. In these stories, Yuna and stitch go fishing and do laundry and enter a costumer festival.
In the second part of the book, Stitch is with Lilo and her sister Nani. In these stories, Stitch makes art and a cake. He also makes it snow in Hawaii, and goes treasure hunting at the beach.
Each story is 7 or 8 pages long. While I prefer Lilo because she was in the movie, Yuna is a fun character too. I think I'd prefer these stories without so much Jumba and Pleakley, but that's just a personal preference. The art is pretty good too. These would be fun stories for younger readers.

SO CUTE 😍😍😍 This didn't have much substance to it but it was really helpful for me to learn how to read mangas and because it wasn't very complex I was able to get my head around re-learning how to read on the page without confusing the storyline for myself.

February 18, 2024Pretty cute read featuring short stories of Stitch and friends. I liked the stories with Lilo, Pleakley, Jumba, and other OG charactera. The Yuna stories, however, were irritating, mostly because of the character herself. Besides I just wanna see Lilo and Stitch, not Yuna and Stitch.. 😐

Stitch 1 ist ein Werk der Manga-Künstlerin Yumi Tsukirino, geeignet für Kinder ab 8 Jahren und Erwachsene. Dieser Manga ist in zwei Teile gegliedert, der erste Teil ist Stitch und Yunas großes Abenteuer in Japan und der zweite Teil ist die tägliche Geschichte zwischen Stitch und Lilo.
Der erste Teil der Geschichte spielt in Japan, als Stitch auf der japanischen Insel landet, dort das Mädchen Yuna trifft und ihr aus der Gefahr hilft. Yuna ist Karate-Meisterin. Sie lebte bei ihrer Oma und brachte Stitch sehr geduldig viele Dinge bei. Die beiden wurden bald unzertrennliche Freunde und wuchsen zusammen auf, bemüht, ihre Wünsche zu verwirklichen. Der zweite Teil besteht aus ein paar Kurzgeschichten über Stitsch und seine alte Freundin Lilo. In diesem Teil kommt ein vertrautes Gefühl auf.
Die Kurzgeschichten im Buch sind sehr interessant, auch der Comic-Stil ist sehr gut. Mir gefällt die Figur Yuna sehr gut. Auch Stitchs Charakter wurde gut umgesetzt. Der Stil des gesamten Comics ist großartig, und der Textteil stimmt einfach. Es ist ein gutes Buch zum Entspannen. Empfohlen für Kinder und Erwachsene, die Stitch lieben.

Hier fällt es mir echt schwer eine Meinung zu formulieren, denn ich kann mit dem Buch so gar nichts anfangen, weiß aber nur zu genau, dass die Zielgruppe beziehungsweise Stitch-Fans vermutlich begeistert sein werden. Das ich einen Manga lesen würde, war mir klar, aber mir war das ganze zu wüst, zu viel plitsch platsch und wumms, einfach von allem zu viel. Ich hätte mir auch gewünscht, dass farbig illustriert wäre, das schwarzweiß hat mich nicht angesprochen.

Buch:
Das Cover bildet natürlich Stitch ab, worum es auch in diesem Buch geht. Die Illustration ist in Ordnung, hätte aber auch ein wenig besser sein können, meiner Meinung nach.
Aufgebaut ist das Buch wie ein Manga. Man liest es also von hinten nach vorne und rechts nach links.
Es gibt viele kleine Geschichten und sowohl neue, als auch bekannte Nebencharaktere.
Neben Text gibt es natürlich, wie bei einem Manga gewohnt, Illustrationen, die die jeweiligen Szenen abbilden. Sie sind komplett in Schwarz-Weiß.
Story:
Der erste Teil (so nenne ich das mal) erzählt über das, was Stitch auf der Insel Izayoi und mit Yuna erlebt. Teil 2 zeigt dann Stitch mit Lilo & Co.
Beginnen tun beide Teile jeweils mit der Vorstellung der Charaktere, die dann vorkommen.
Viel zum Inhalt kann und will ich hier nicht sagen, da es eben ein Manga ist und es so viele kleine Geschichten beinhaltet und es keinen Sinn macht jede einzelne wiederzugeben.
Fazit:
Das Buch hat mich ehrlich gesagt ein wenig verwirrt und enttäuscht.
Der Schreibstil war recht simpel. Ich mochte ihn gar nicht. Die Charaktere wirkten unsympathisch auf mich und recht dumm (Yuna finde ich schrecklich. Nur am motzen und rumzicken). Zudem werden so wenige Worte eingesetzt, dass man fast schon denken könnte, das Buch wäre für Kinder mit einem geringen Wortschatz geschaffen worden. Dabei soll das Buch für 8-Jährige sein. Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, usw. waren sprachlich besser und die habe ich selber als Kind gelesen.
Die Illustrationen waren jedoch sehr ansehnlich und detailliert. Die Charaktere wirkten, als Zeichnung, sehr liebenswert. Schade finde ich, dass sie eben farblos bzw. nur in Schwarz-Weiß sind.
Der 2. Teil mit Lilo, Nani, David und Co hat mir besser gefallen, als der 1. Teil. Den 1. Teil hätte man komplett weglassen sollen, meiner Ansicht nach. Diese Buchserie sollte sich auf Stitch und seine Ohana konzentrieren. Bei dem 1. Teil hatte ich nämlich oftmals den Gedanken, dass der Autor sich nur wenig mit Stitch und dessen Story und Eigenschaften beschäftigt hat. Es waren einfach ein paar Sachen dabei, die einfach keinen Sinn ergeben. Naja…
SPOILER START:
Der 1. Teil beginnt damit, dass Stitch auf der Flucht ist. Das kennt man ja aus dem Film, als er durch das All flieht und schließlich auf der Erde landet. Jedoch landet er diesmal nicht bei Lilo, sondern auf der Insel Izayoi und begegnet dem Mädchen Yuna. Hier schon der 1. Fehler. Das Mädchen nennt ihn Stitch. Stitch bekam jedoch seinen Namen erst von Lilo, die er ja zu dem Zeitpunkt noch gar nicht getroffen haben kann. Zudem verhält er sich recht zivilisiert und so, wie man ihn kennt NACHDEM er eine Weile bei Lilo und Nani gelebt und dazu gelernt hat. Dass er also die menschliche Sprache sprach und sich „normal“ verhalten hat, ist unlogisch. Er hätte, wie am Anfang des Filmes, zerstörerisch und chaotisch auf der Insel sein müssen (Also ein richtiges Alien/Monster, das nur an sich denkt). Dann kommt noch dazu, dass er auf einmal Yuna als „Ohana“ bezeichnet. Da bekomme ich ja ne Krise. Lilo und Nani sind seine Ohana. Wäre es so gewesen, dass Stitch zusammen mit Lilo und Nani die anderen Inseln und Teile der Erde besucht und erkundet hätte, würde ich nichts sagen. Das hätte mir auch weitaus besser gefallen. Aber da ja gleich zu Beginn gezeigt und geschrieben wurde, dass Stitch auf der Flucht ist, ist damit ja der Beginn gemeint. Einfach die ganze Sache mit Yuna ist falsch.
Eine Aussage von Lilo hat mich etwas schockiert. Sie ist einfach so untypisch für sie. Dass sie sagt, dass sie Stitch hasst… Nöp. Ohana geht vor. Sie würden sich nicht so schnell mit solchen hasserfüllten Worten verletzen. Lilo ist auch für ihr Alter zu reif, um das einfach so von sich zu geben.
SPOILER ENDE.
Was mir gefallen hat, war, dass man ein wenig von der Kultur und „Mythen“ erfahren hat aus diesem Bereich der Erde (Wobei ich nicht weiß, ob diese Insel tatsächlich existiert. Ich habe jetzt nicht danach gegoogelt). Also so etwas wie Geister, Götter oder so ähnlich.
Gestört hat mich, dass Stitch als verfressen dargestellt wurde. Der Fokus war das ganze Buch über auf Essen. Stitch hat Hunger. Stitch hat Hunger. Stitch hat Hunger. Wie kommt der Autor darauf? Stitch war nie so! Hat der Autor die Filme gesehen? Es ist fast so, als kenne der Autor Stitch, seine Eigenschaften und dessen Charakter gar nicht.
Dass Stitch am Anfang etwas chaotisch, tollpatschig und zerstörerisch war, weiß man als Stitch-Fan natürlich. Wenn man den Film kennt, weiß man aber auch, dass sich Stitch zum Ende hin besser unter Kontrolle hatte und eben durch seine Intelligenz dazu lernte und ruhiger wurde. In diesem Buch war er so chaotisch und hat so viel kaputt gemacht… ich weiß nicht. Es ist irgendwie nicht so richtig der Stitch, den ich kenne und liebe.
Bei dem 1. Teil mit Yuna kommt ein Wunschstein vor, bei dem man 43 gute Taten vollbracht haben muss, bevor man sich etwas wünschen kann. Zumindest in diesem Buch wird das nie erreicht. Ob es in einem Folgebuch dann weiter geht, ist nirgends vermerkt, aber man kann natürlich davon ausgehen.
Humor fand ich in dem Buch jetzt nicht. Stitch tat mir irgendwie die ganze Zeit nur Leid.
Wie gesagt- Das Buch war enttäuschend und etwas verwirrend. Die Idee war gut, die Umsetzung leider nicht so ganz. Das einzig Gute an dem Buch sind die Illustrationen und dann halt der Teil wo Lilo und Nani vorkommen. Die Original Ohana muss im Mittelpunkt stehen. Yuna und Co müssen weg (Sorry).
Für Kinder, die sich mit Lilo & Stitch nicht so auskennen und Lesefaul sind oder eine Leseschwäche haben, wird das Buch ausreichend sein. Ansonsten bin ich nicht sicher, ob ich das Buch empfehlen würde.

Es waren einfach ein paar Sachen dabei, die einfach keinen Sinn ergeben. Naja…
SPOILER START:
Der 1. Teil beginnt damit, dass Stitch auf der Flucht ist. Das kennt man ja aus dem Film, als er durch das All flieht und schließlich auf der Erde landet. Jedoch landet er diesmal nicht bei Lilo, sondern auf der Insel Izayoi und begegnet dem Mädchen Yuna. Hier schon der 1. Fehler. Das Mädchen nennt ihn Stitch. Stitch bekam jedoch seinen Namen erst von Lilo, die er ja zu dem Zeitpunkt noch gar nicht getroffen haben kann. Zudem verhält er sich recht zivilisiert und so, wie man ihn kennt NACHDEM er eine Weile bei Lilo und Nani gelebt und dazu gelernt hat. Dass er also die menschliche Sprache sprach und sich „normal“ verhalten hat, ist unlogisch. Er hätte, wie am Anfang des Filmes, zerstörerisch und chaotisch auf der Insel sein müssen (Also ein richtiges Alien/Monster, das nur an sich denkt). Dann kommt noch dazu, dass er auf einmal Yuna als „Ohana“ bezeichnet. Da bekomme ich ja ne Krise. Lilo und Nani sind seine Ohana. Wäre es so gewesen, dass Stitch zusammen mit Lilo und Nani die anderen Inseln und Teile der Erde besucht und erkundet hätte, würde ich nichts sagen. Das hätte mir auch weitaus besser gefallen. Aber da ja gleich zu Beginn gezeigt und geschrieben wurde, dass Stitch auf der Flucht ist, ist damit ja der Beginn gemeint. Einfach die ganze Sache mit Yuna ist falsch.
Eine Aussage von Lilo hat mich etwas schockiert. Sie ist einfach so untypisch für sie. Dass sie sagt, dass sie Stitch hasst… Nöp. Ohana geht vor. Sie würden sich nicht so schnell mit solchen hasserfüllten Worten verletzen. Lilo ist auch für ihr Alter zu reif, um das einfach so von sich zu geben.

Was mir gefallen hat, war, dass man ein wenig von der Kultur und „Mythen“ erfahren hat aus diesem Bereich der Erde (Wobei ich nicht weiß, ob diese Insel tatsächlich existiert. Ich habe jetzt nicht danach gegoogelt). Also so etwas wie Geister, Götter oder so ähnlich.
Gestört hat mich, dass Stitch als verfressen dargestellt wurde. Der Fokus war das ganze Buch über auf Essen. Stitch hat Hunger. Stitch hat Hunger. Stitch hat Hunger. Wie kommt der Autor darauf? Stitch war nie so! Hat der Autor die Filme gesehen? Es ist fast so, als kenne der Autor Stitch, seine Eigenschaften und dessen Charakter gar nicht.
Dass Stitch am Anfang etwas chaotisch, tollpatschig und zerstörerisch war, weiß man als Stitch-Fan natürlich. Wenn man den Film kennt, weiß man aber auch, dass sich Stitch zum Ende hin besser unter Kontrolle hatte und eben durch seine Intelligenz dazu lernte und ruhiger wurde. In diesem Buch war er so chaotisch und hat so viel kaputt gemacht… ich weiß nicht. Es ist irgendwie nicht so richtig der Stitch, den ich kenne und liebe.
Bei dem 1. Teil mit Yuna kommt ein Wunschstein vor, bei dem man 43 gute Taten vollbracht haben muss, bevor man sich etwas wünschen kann. Zumindest in diesem Buch wird das nie erreicht. Ob es in einem Folgebuch dann weiter geht, ist nirgends vermerkt, aber man kann natürlich davon ausgehen.
Humor fand ich in dem Buch jetzt nicht. Stitch tat mir irgendwie die ganze Zeit nur Leid.
Wie gesagt- Das Buch war enttäuschend und etwas verwirrend. Die Idee war gut, die Umsetzung leider nicht so ganz. Das einzig Gute an dem Buch sind die Illustrationen und dann halt der Teil wo Lilo und Nani vorkommen. Die Original Ohana muss im Mittelpunkt stehen. Yuna und Co müssen weg (Sorry).
Für Kinder, die sich mit Lilo & Stitch nicht so auskennen und Lesefaul sind oder eine Leseschwäche haben, wird das Buch ausreichend sein. Ansonsten bin ich nicht sicher, ob ich das Buch empfehlen würde.

This is a fun manga for fans of Stitch. I agree with the assessments that the mix up with Yuna is a bit confusing and one dimensional, something I found when I first read these in English. But it's still fun. And yes, Yuna is very annoying, but she that may be more because of the manga trope that she plays up. Young girls often are very yelly and self-centred. Stitch bring chaos and is also one sided for most of the Yuna portion, but he is like that for most of the first movie too.
I will say that the second half of this book, which was the traditional Lilo and Stitch, was my favourite part.

It's just a comic basically about stitch in different types of situations with different people! It mainly for big fans of stitch and for young children. (My daughter got it from the book fair, and I said oh I want to read it and I did.) I will read the second one because I love stitch and it's a fast read! why not!

What a fun manga! I'll admit, I struggled at first because I've never read a manga, but I was able to learn. This book was the epitome of fun and escapism. As a long-time Stich fan, I enjoyed seeing the familiar characters and some new ones, too. The art style was fun and fits the vibe of the series. This could easily be a Disney + series!

Thought it was gonna be one long story, but it turned out to be many short stories. I preferred the short stories with Lilo in them than the ones with Yuna in them. I think it was just one story on how Stitch and Yuna met it would have been more enjoyable.

Enjoyable read with my daughter, simple but extremely effective artwork. Around half of the book is Stitch's new adventures with Yuna an island near Okinawa and the other half is more adventures with Lilo on Kauaʻi.

An adorable collection of Stitch's misadventures, both with Yuna on the island of Izayoi and with Lilo in Hawaii. Very silly and the artwork is incredibly cute.
