Last One Standing is the 11th Book of W.J. May's bestselling series, The Chronicles of Kerrigan.
Rae Kerrigan and her friends have finally crossed the line, and this time, there’s no going back. After a violent standoff with the entire Privy Council, the gang wakes up under the protection of the last people they ever expected to see: the Xavier Knights.
Old bridges are burned. New alliances are formed. There’s a storm brewing on the horizon, and unless they unite together—it will overtake them all. What they need, is time. But an unexpected visit from an old enemy sets off a spark, and suddenly, Rae’s entire world is in flames.
Can she and her friends get the people they need together in time? Even if they can, will they ever be strong enough? More importantly, are she and Devon strong enough to survive what’s about to come?
A dangerous game has begun and the only question that remains is: who will be the last one standing?

Wanita May grew up in the fruit belt of Ontario - St.Catharines. Crazy-happy childhood, she always has had a vivid imagination and loads of energy.
The youngest of six -- four older brothers, and a sister -- taught her at a young age to be competitive in all aspects of life.
At sixteen, she began competing in athletics (track and field) and before she turned seventeen, she was representing Canada in high jump. She continued to compete, breaking Canada's JR High Jump record (1.92m - 6' 3 1/2" for those metric-ly challenged). She attented University of Toronto, and Kansas State University - winning CIAU's and becoming All-American 6x - NCAA Indoors Runner Up + more.
But you're not interested in her athletic career - unless of course you're curious to know she stands 1.70m (5'7") and has jumped 20cm over her head on more than one occassion. She's represented Canada at the World Championships, World Jrs., won Francophone Games, and loved every minute of every competition. From the grueling workouts, the crazy weights she lifted on her back, the days she thought her lungs were going to spit out of her mouth for lack of oxygen, the travelling around the world and the opportunity to read - her favourite past time.
Life continued with her husband (a distance runner from Liverpool, UK, who she met at KSU) and then their first, then second and finally third child. Their house became full of more imagination and stories.
Wanita and her husband run an online business, dealing in antiques and collectables - particularly jewelry and porcelain (one of the business' website: www.wadeincanada.com ).
After her father passed away in 2009, from a six-year battle with cancer (which she still believes he won the fight against), she began to write again. A passion she'd loved for years, but realized life was too short to keep putting it off.
Her first book, Rae of Hope - from the Chronicles of Kerrigan - will be available October 2011 by kNight Romance Publishing.
She is currently represented by Dawn Dowdle of Blue Ridge Literary Agency. Wanita is a writer of Young Adult, Fantasy Fiction and where ever else her little muses take her.
Entertaining story and characters. Nice plot twists. But the proofreading is atrocious. Also the editing. I mean one character 's name is James Carter in several books, suddenly in this book his name is Andrew Carter. No excuse for that.
Great story, terrible editing. That's my only issue with this entire series. It's like the author never proofread or had anyone else proofread her work. A character in the previous books was names James Carter and all of sudden in this book his name is Andrew Carter - HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?
The tension peaks, and the story delivers a blend of action, sacrifice, and resolution. Rae’s arc reaches its emotional climax, and she proves herself as a leader. The supporting cast finally receives more attention, and long-running plotlines start paying off. Dialogue is sharper, and the pacing is intense. This book delivers some of the most satisfying moments in the series.
As much as I enjoy the story line I'm sick of Rae not having common sense. It's like watching a train wreck yet not being able to stop it. The only difference is that Rae CAN stop it by using common sense and her powers.
I'm blaming all this on the author. I want to love these books but that won't happen if the books themself are not properly edited.
I've given 4 stars for the majority of the books but I'm not going to to that if what I'm reading takes me longer to reread, highlight or add a note due to typos, first names suddenly being changed.
The errors in this book are just ridiculous at this point.
Some major events happen is book 11 that I was not expecting at all. If you thought Rae had been through just about everything possible you are so wrong. A lot more happen to her that I was not expecting at all. Yet through it all her friends are with her 100% of the way making sure everyone and everything is taken care of. If you have not read this series or anything by W.J. May I suggest you start with the CoK.
I am loving this series. It has more typo errors and story mess ups than I have every seen in any book series. Getting past that because story is great 👍 my only real issue is why Carter's name change? Totally screwup to have james Carter for 10 books then start calling him Andrew. But I am getting #12
They're finally getting somewhere as they start to work together instead of against each other. It took some major things to happen first and the way it happened was surprising but worth it. What was found down in the dungeon was really surprising. But the ending, woah.
When I finished the first chapter, I said out loud, that it was worth all the trauma you put us through the previous two books. Especially the last line in chapter one. I smiled throughout this book, well except one spot.
Another awesome adventure with Rae and the gang. Twists, turns, surprises, revelations, and more. How will it all play out? I can’t wait to read book 12 and find out!!!
Another great book in this brilliant set of books. Up to book 11 and looking forward to reading more. Looking forward to reading Gabriel's books also. Thank you.
I’ve enjoyed the series again once we got past the Gabriel and Rae stuff. This one dropped a couple of bombs on us and I can’t wait to see how it plays out. One book left, hoping for a strong finish 🤞🏼
When Rae and her friends wake up in 'enemy' headquarters, only to find themselves among newly acquainted allies; it's something even Rae has to question. But as time goes on, the pieces are put together. Alliances are formed and the ancient enemy rears his ugly head. Time is of the essence. Everyone needs to be battle ready. Will they be able to defeat what seems to be an indestructible enemy? Will Rae and Devon ever be free? I loved this book! So many unanswered questions came to light, along with renewed relationships. I'm excited to read the final chapter of the series, but I do hope the author continues with a spin-off. The characters are amazing! 5 stars!
There is absolutely nothing more that could have been written to make this a more perfect lead into the final book of the series. From the moment Rae opened her eyes to find Dev's face to the unexpected allegiance for the pc and xk. To the release of the disappeared hybrids right down to that phenomenal proposal ending. I absolutely adore The Kerrigan Chronicles and I couldn't have asked for anything more....
Such a perfect build up to the big show down thats inevitability coming in book 12. Since i have 6 more days until its out i might just have to give myself a little refresher from books 1 to 11 :)
Wow. What a way to end the book. Definitely 5 star. Everyone has their own little thing going on. All the while, I kept hoping that Gabriel will too get a love. I kept wondering why with so many powers, Rae hadn't used them to sort of the endless questions she had. And everytime there's something that takes TOP priority and then he bothers gets a set back. Ugh. But Rae is humble and honest, she wouldn't do that. As she mentioned. It was a great read. Can't wait to see what the next of Rae and the team's journey will take us!
I have read every book that W.J. May has written. This series is fantastic, she goes into Rae's life shows how committed to her friends to the point she still keeps doing crazy things. Are and her friends get into more trouble then is possible. There are some surprises that make the cliffhanger wanting the next book.
Wow are group of heroes are again having major battles because of secrets. Good action, good subplots, good characters, more surprises and romance. Could use an editor.
The 11th book in the series and it was awesome. This time when Rae wakes after another knock out she wakes in that last place she ever thought she would wake, and from the moment it was on.
