I purchased this book at random from our local used bookstore. This book deals specifically with the history and development of the sporting shotgun. It takes the reader from the days of the flintlock, through the percussion era to the early pinfire breechloaders and the later Hammer Centerfire breechloaders. It also explores some of the more exotic designs which were never actually put into production. The text is fully Illustrated with examples of the weapons described.
