Poetry and illustrations inspired by Jeff Bridges and the wide range of characters that he has played throughout his career. Poems by Donora Hillard, author of Parapherna (2006), Exhibition (2008), Theology of the Body (2010), Covenant (2012). Illustrations by Goodloe Byron.
Donora Hillard read from this tonight in Cleveland. The poetry was short and stark, but full of conceptual imagery and spiritual concreteness. Every line was a testament to the good and bad of the author's 'guardian angel', actor Jeff Bridges. How often do we align the timeline of our lives with the continuity of a celebrity or an era? Most of us have literally made music soundtracks to our lives, but what if we believed, without doubt, in an idol's human character and flaws just from the big screen?
