Francine Paula Pascal was an American author best known for her Sweet Valley series of young adult novels. Sweet Valley High, the backbone of the collection, was made into a television series, which led to several spin-offs, including The Unicorn Club and Sweet Valley University. Although most of these books were published in the 1980s and 1990s, they remained so popular that several titles were re-released decades later.
Loved these books as a kid. This edition here is my favorite of the SVH books. I've always loved Jessica more than Elizabeth and I love when I got to get inside of her head. I loved her and Sam! Heartbreaking what happens to him, they loved each other so much and their story is so tragic. I never get tired of skimming thru her diary when I'm feeling depressed haha. It's a pick me up reading about her impulsiveness, craziness and desperate love for Sam. Always makes me feel better.
Total nostalgia kick made me add this to my read list, and write a review. I haven't re-read it, but I imagine I'd roll my eyes if i did. It was pure delight and marshmallow fluff to read as a tween though, some 20 years ago.
I really loved these books when I was younger, obsessive almost. But I had a REALLY hard time reading this again as an adult. I had to skim through instead of actually reading it. It did bring back some memories, so that was cool. But I don't think I'll be reading any more SVH. They have been officially "shelved".
Oh wow, I loved these books when I was younger and had a huge collection I couldn't part with. I confess I still sometimes pull one out every once in a while :D
