For the last three years, twenty-four-year-old Kate Simmons has blamed herself for her fiancé’s death…

She’s been unable to face the risks of a new relationship. But when Kate moves into a San Diego apartment with her best friend, Charlie, she’s ready for a new lease on life. What she doesn’t see coming is the onslaught of male attention headed her way.

Before Kate knows it, she has her pick of guys…

Roger Wilkins, the apartment building manager, is a really nice guy, and there’s no denying his attraction to Kate, despite the fact that he already has a girlfriend. Appearances can be deceiving, though—and Kate wonders if something dark lurks beneath the surface.

Then there’s Mark Baxter, Kate’s super attractive classmate. But he’s got a gaggle of girls after him, and Kate has no interest in becoming just another groupie.

Finally, there’s Neil Statton, Kate’s thirty-year-old alumni mentor. He hasn’t been in a relationship since his wife passed away, but he certainly knows how to attract the ladies. Plus, he always gets what he wants.

Kate’s blooming romances are tricky to juggle…

Kate has to choose, and it isn’t going to be easy. She doesn’t want to give Neil the time of day, while Mark pursues her relentlessly. When Roger informs her his girlfriend has been murdered, something feels off, and Kate becomes suspicious. What could Roger be hiding?

Kate is ready to live her life again, and romance is knocking. But she must choose.

When I began my journey of becoming an author, I had no idea all the blessings that would be bestowed upon me. First, I have had the pleasure of meeting so many readers at signings and they have overwhelmed my heart with how much they love my books. Their words of affirmation have given me pure joy and they are the reason I write. To stare my stories with them is to give them a glimpse into my heart. I've also been tremendously blessed with bloggers who have tirelessly shared my stories, made teasers for me, promoted me, and just downright made me feel so welcome in the Facebook community.

I didn't share this initially, but the Killer Next Door series is about my own life experience living next door to a convicted serial killer. The story has the facts of my interactions with him mixed in with fiction that I created to give it drama. The main character Kate is actually based on me. Of course, much of the story has my run away imagination mixed in as well. And sadly, the romance part is all made up!! I didn't have a boyfriend at the time I lived next door to a killer. I did however know one of his victims and he was very interested in "getting to know me better." I know...yikes!

I wrote Beholden to You as a spin-off of the series. It's my favorite book as I love Natalie and Mac's love affair. It also has some thrill to it as I enjoy adding in twists and turns to make the pages fly.

I am about to release my fifth book, Forgotten by You, another spin-off, but can be read as a stand alone. Mitch and Charlie's story will have you rooting for a happy ending and I keep the twists coming.

Reading has been a passion of mine my entire life. I love it so that I dedicated my life to educating children. As a teacher, I have had the profound pleasure of teaching children to read and explore their imaginations through a good book. Nothing is better than watching a child read and find joy from the story. My first graders are a gift that keep on giving every day. Being a teacher is hard work, but the rewards far outweigh the sacrifices.

I have several that I want to turn into books. Writing has become a passion that I dearly love.
In my free time, I enjoy reading (of course), writing, movies, working out, and relaxing with my my handsome husband in Southern California. We enjoy the relaxed lifestyle that California provides. We have two beautiful dogs and no children.

*** 2.5 The Guy Next Door is a Creeper Stars ***

The title alone on this book had me starting off on the 1st page like this....
 photo giddy_zpss0vrvzl4.gif

The blurb had this book sounding good...So I was game one...lets get some killing going on.

As I read, I kept anticipating and anticipating, but I got nothing...
 photo bored_zpszfirssk6.gif

As I was becoming bored with the mundane talk about how smoking hot Kate is and she deserves happy, over and over. I thought to myself....it's ok Jamie this will get good. Don't get me wrong, this book had potential for chaos and mayhem to start. I just knew deep down inside something good was going to happen. I mean come on, we got ourselves a creepy, good looking neighbor that is obsessed with Kate. But his creepiness hit a WHAT THE level when he offered to give her a foot rub. Um what????? Who does that? You don't know her.

Maybe I shouldn't ask that question since I have not been schooled in Creepy Stalker 101.

I keep reading, because I have to, this has to get better.

Overall, the story has a little angst, a little creepy, a little sexiness, a little well then and a lot of you are sexy, you deserve the best, please be mine, tell me you will never be with another man, do you want some wine, let's eat, this is delicious.

But I guess the author got me with the ending because now I have to read book 2 to see what the creepy killer next door does with Kate his one and only.

The book is part of a set called "the Killer Next Door" series but no kind of thrilling suspense has actually happened. Im thinking maybe they should just rename this the "Creepy Peeper" series , cause that's all that's happening here...

Also the men in this book.... could someone please gag me???

• Neil: corporate attorney, humanitarian & greek sex god
• Mark Baxter: the younger guy, flirty playboy & all American man candy
• Apartment Manager Roger aka Creepster: ex Army man who may or may not be a killer & likes to creep in his tenants apartments & watch them sleep...

The romance in this book is so cheesy. I hate that Neil is constantly wanting to feed Kate - maybe it's just cause I've never had someone feed me - but damn, can the girl not hold her own fork?

This was a pretty lame book. I don't even know what else to say... Crappy characters, boring storyline with zero action or suspence & the romance is quite laughable.

Loved this debut novel from Carlie Sexton. Kate and her best friend Charlie are moving in together. Everything seems to be great. Kate is trying to move on from a tragic event that put her life on hold and now she seems to be on the right track. That is until the manager of her new apartment starts doing some weird stuff. He seems to have a crush on her and is a little over protective.

This mystery romance had me on the edge of my seat by the end of book 1. Can't wait to read more of this series.

"He wanted to be calm when he found Kate. He had to convince her that they belonged together. He had to make her listen. I will find her no matter what it takes!

After suffering from a tragic loss that sends her world crashing down, Kate Simmons is trying to let go of the guilt and taking the first step in moving on with her life. Escaping from the strained relationship she has with her mother Kate and her best friend Charlie Andrews get an apartment together. Kate re-enrolls at San Diego State University to finish getting her degree. After taking some time off she is ready to get her life back and move on.

With her best friend Charlie at her side and still loving her job at Nordstrom. Kate is ready to become an independent woman. What she wasn’t expecting was attracting the attention of three separate men. The choices Mark, the handsome college student who seems to be the ladies man, a womanizer; Roger, the very nice and decent looking apartment manager and her new neighbor and finally Neil, the gorgeous, determined and successful lawyer. What Kate doesn’t realize is just how dangerous one of those men really is and that her choices could mean life and death.

She saw that Roger’s door was open. He came to the threshold to talk to her, all smiles as usual.

Hey, Kate! Would you like to come in for a cup of coffee? I’m currently brewing a fresh pot,” He asked enthusiastically.

“I would love to, but it’s the first day of school and I want to get to class early to get a good seat. Plus, I heard that parking at SDSU is a nightmare. Can I take a rain check?”

“Sure. Some other time,” he said, sounding more than a little deflated.

“How about after I’m done with my classes” My second class ends about ten. I should be home by ten-thirty.”

“That would be great! I’ll be waiting. Do you like anything special in your coffee?” “Well, I’m a fan of hazelnut, but I don’t want you to go to any trouble. I am a coffee fiend so really anything will be great,” she said.

“Well, it’s a date then,” he said, a glimmer in his eyes. “See you later.” “See you then, Roger.”

As Kate adjusts to being a student again. She finds herself attracted to a fellow student Mark Baxter but keeps her distance. He constantly surrounded by women. It has been awhile since she has had these feelings but her gut is telling her that there is something more to him, he maybe gorgeous but he is definitely a player. Trying to fight her attraction to him and after talking with him, she agrees and gives him her number. Still unsure if he is being honest or just being a guy.

“I don’t want any of the other girls on campus,” he said, a frown on his gorgeous face. A face with chiseled fine features and big green eyes that had already seared their way into her heart. Then his face relaxed. “I want the beautiful, intelligent woman standing here before me now. It’s not only your beauty that I find intriguing, but your intelligence is extremely sexy to me as well. Every time you talk in class, I am mesmerized by what you are saying. I want to know everything about you. I want to figure out what makes you tick. I want hours to go by with you and have it seem like minutes. I want to make you feel things that you have never felt before.”

What Kate wasn’t expecting was the persistance and persuasiveness of Neil Statton. Neil is everything she would want in a man he is gorgeous, successful, sexyl and determined. He has been nothing but a gentleman with her. He is so intense and the attraction she feels towards him scares her more than anything. How can she be this attracted to two completely opposite men? Coming to terms that she isn’t tied down to anyone she agrees to go on a date with Neil a date that will change her life in more ways than one.

“I know I said I would be a perfect gentleman. But the truth of the matter is you make me absolutely wild.” His breathing was heavy. “I want you so badly. I want to be your man.” “You are so beautiful. I want to make love to you. Please let me,” he pleaded. “I want you so much. I just can’t wait.”

Roger Wilkins. I love how Roger appears to be this normal guy. In the beginning I was like - ok his military training has him more in-tune with things and with people, but then hearing his thoughts about Kate after only having a phone conversation with her. That is when I realized that there is a little more to Roger than I thought. He is that character you love to hate. He is good looking but creepy- gets too involved, asks weird questions, makes you uncomfortable. I was intrigued yet mortified and shocked at some of his actions. The man absolutely has no remorse. WHOA! He is a creeptasticly fubard character. Brilliantly written. Kate is friendly with him but also uncomfortable around him she can’t explain it but she remains friendly with him. He is her neighbor after all and has been nothing but nice to her.

Then you have Mark. He is this gorgeous college guy who is genuinely interested in Kate. He is swoon worthy for sure. Kate knows guys like him, the player. He does his best to prove to Kate that she is wrong about him. Kate wants to give him a chance but is reluctant. When Kate over hears gossip from another classmate she realizes her gut was right.

Last but not least is Neil Statton. A widowed, gorgeous, young lawyer. The moment he saw Kate he knew he had to have her and used to getting what he wants he does everything he can to get her. He is smart, sexy and very determined. Their attraction for each other is off the freaking charts! With their commom bond of suffering a loss, they can easily relate to each other. This man will melt your panties right off of you. *fans self-off* You can’t help but fall in love with him.

Kate is so out of the dating loop and so distraught from her past that she has no idea what to do. She see’s that Roger has shown some interest. He is nice but he also has a girlfriend. Her two toughest decisions are between Mark and Neil. She is really torn up about it until she discovers the truth about one of them. What’s a girl to do? The one thing she doesn’t do is string them along.

When Kate finally makes her choice, you are left with two very unhappy men. One of them will do everything he can to make what he thinks is his competition disappear for good.

When one of the men start acting strange, facts start to surface and Kate realizes her life is in danger as are those around her. When Kate and Charlie suddenly move out, one man will do everything to get her back and won’t give up until she is his.

Carlie Sexton has the perfect formula in this book... mystery, suspense, the shock factor, romance, loss, steamy sex, humor, heartache, love... This book had me pulled in from chapter one. The character are fantastic!

This book leaves you hanging and I am so looking forward to seeing what happens in book #2.

A job well done by Carlie Sexton! Bravo!

I really had a hard time deciding whether or not to give Fallen For You four stars or five… but I was so speechless when I finished reading Fallen For You, I realized I had to give it all five stars. With that said the only reason there was ever a question in my mind about how many stars it deserved was because of the ending of this book. Without giving anything away, it was NOT a bad ending at all, just left me wanting so much more!
This book was amazing! I am not sure I can even find the right adjectives to use!
Kate is a college student who is trying to put her life back together after a tragic loss in her life that left her hanging on by a thread. Her and her girlfriend, Charlie, find a great apartment and are eager to start their lives on their own. But what Kate didn’t bargain for was the landlord, Roger.
Yes, Roger is good looking. He knows from phone conversations that his new tenant has to be beautiful and just what he has been waiting for. At first it seems endearing but then the girls move in… suddenly what was endearing is now strange. He always seems to be right there when Kate gets home from work or school. He is trying to win Kate over with his charm…
Then there’s Mark. Mark is the hottie on campus that every girl seems to want, which makes Kate want to stay away. He has enough girls swooning over him; surely he doesn’t need her too. But what Mark wants is exactly that.
Throw into the mix the amazingly hot lawyer, Neil. Neil is supposed to be Kate’s mentor at school, but when he fails to show up for their first meeting, Kate decides she can figure it out on her own. But Neil is persistent and charms his way into her life.
Three amazingly hot guys all going after one woman… whew… this doesn’t just spell trouble, this creates trouble.
I loved the characters in this book. Kate was a smart girl who was just struggling to move beyond her past. Charlie is the awesome supporting friend. Charlie’s boyfriend is the big brother that Kate always needed. Mark was the ladies man. Neil knew exactly what he wanted and wouldn’t stop the chase until he got it. Roger was the creepy landlord who knew what he wanted and was willing to do many things to get exactly what he wanted.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat and wanting more and more. There was plenty of steam in this book and more than enough suspense for my heart.
When I finished this book my mouth was left gaping wide open searching for words. There were none. It took steamy and scary to a whole new level for me and I just didn’t want to stop reading it!
Carlie Sexton wrote fabulous characters and a gripping story that just left me in shock. I cannot wait for the next book in this series by her and now I know I will be sleeping with one eye open for a while!

New indie author Carlie Sexton shows her skills in her debut novel Fallen For You the first book in her The Killer Next Door series. I love a good spicy romance with a little suspense but let me tell you Ms. Sexton puts that and more in to this book.

Kate has had a difficult several years and as she tries to put her life back together her and her best friend Charlie move into the perfect apartment. Little do they know perfect comes with a price. The minute you meet landlord Roger you feel the creep factor and you are not disappointed through the book as the meter only rises.

At 24, Kate starts her junior year of college she is overwhelmed when she noticed the good looking guy that seems to be in all of her classes beginning to feel things her body hasn’t felt in years for a man. She is excited and scared by these feelings. Mark has watched and listen to Kate in class she is beautiful, sexy and smart and he wants her. When Kate goes to meet her SDSU mentor Neil Statton and he doesn’t show she’s put out, when he calls her at work and ask her to dinner she tells him No. Neil Statton is used to getting what he wants and even though he tried to explain to Kate why he didn’t show up she wouldn’t listen to him one thing about Neil he loves a challenge. Kate can’t believe it when Neil shows up at her work. Just meeting him for the first time and her body reacts to him but she isn’t about to give in to the charming, sexy, arrogant attorney too quickly. Kate doesn’t know what to do going from nothing to having two men capturing her attention.

Oh, but we can’t leave out Roger, he wants Kate in the worst way and will stop at nothing to have her and will let no one get in his way. As Roger does all he can to get Kate’s attention her attention is elsewhere and well Roger can’t have that.

As Neil and Kate get close and as Roger closes in bodies start to disappear. Kate knows the life she was struggling to put back together just took a dramatic turn. Not only her life but those of her around her as well.

This is a three book series and thank goodness that the next book won’t be long in coming out because I can tell you although the end doesn’t leave you hanging off the cliff if definitely leaves you looking over that edge wanting the next one.

I believe Ms. Sexton has done well for her first time she has what’s needed steamy sex, romance, relatable characters that are trying hard to overcome some difficult times and suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Fallen For You is Carlie Sexton's debut romance novel. Kate is a woman who is recovering from a traumatic life experience and trying to put her life back together. She moves into a new apartment with her best friend, Charlie, and begins taking college classes again. With her new move comes new opportunities and new relationship interests. There are suddenly 3 men who have taken an interest with Kate, but one of these men is dangerous and his interest in Kate morphs into a dangerous obsession.

Fallen For You had a slow start for me. It takes awhile to get to know the characters, to connect with them, and to figure out where the story is going. The writing style is not very smooth, especially in the beginning of the book. The sentences are fairly blunt and there is a focus on detail that is not fully necessary and slows the story down. The story could be more fluid and the transitions smoother. However, after the foundations for the story are set and the action starts unfolding, the pacing picks up and I found myself really into the book.

The 3 men who show an interest in Kate are each intriguing characters; the neighbor next door, the cute guy from school, and the determined, sexy man. Kate has been out of the relationship loop for awhile, so the sudden attention is unfamiliar to her. When the romance kicks in, it heats up quickly into a hot, steamy read. Kate does not always make the best decisions, she was naive to the danger that was closing in on her and I wanted to yell at her a few times. Despite the slow start, I eventually connected with the characters and became invested in the story.

Fallen For You is clearly part one of the series. It is a complete story, but there is definitely more to come and situations are far from resolved at the close of the book. Carlie Sexton hooked me in by the end of the story and I know that I will absolutely be reading the next book in the series. This suspenseful, steamy read is a promising debut for Carlie Sexton.

Carlie brings a whole new meaning to romance/suspense/thriller!! Freaking Hell!! My heart was racing, hands were sweating, and I would've been pacing could I read and walk at the same time. All of these were reactions to my fear and anxiety Carlie's words provoked through her writing to truly experience the emotions of the characters. Don't get me wrong, the heat from this book elicited the same reactions! The main character is Kate and she's closed off to love due to guilt from her past. Working through this has taken years and she may be ready to find happiness again. In this sweet torture of a novel, we also get another new book boyfriend (Neil). He's sweet, sexy, protective, commanding, and delicious!! Yet we also get to meet Mark, who's also gorgeous, caring, sweet, and wants Kate as his own. So 0 to 2 smexy boys very quickly=heat begins! The steam is enough to burn you and the angst is enough to make you not be able to sit still--therefore making you need freezing cold water either way!! I can't even count how many mini-breaks I had to take throughout this book because I never knew what was going to happen next. By the 1st chapter I was telling Karen, "this is creepy" and reading more I was thinking "oh, but thats hot"--so thats just a glimpse of the extremes you'll go from with this book. I'm so anxious for the next installment because who knows what Carlie will through our way next--I hope I can handle it!! Jump on this angst-filled, lust-filled thriller of a ride if you want a blown mind. I'll be sure to buy 1st class tickets for the next!! Give it a try!

CHRISTINA'S BOOKREVIEW

"I want to know everything about you. I want to figure out what makes you tick. I want hours to go by with you and have it seem like minutes..."

First let me start off by saying "OMG! Do you see that beautiful cover?" That was my first reaction when I was asked by the author to read and review this book. I then read the synopsis and honestly I didn't know if I wanted to read about a "love box". But then I kept looking at the cover and I just HAD to find out what was behind it.With that said, I'm not sorry I took the chance...

Sometimes the guilt of losing a loved one weighs you down and withdraws you from the world. These are Kate’s circumstances when we begin Fallen for You. Three years after a terrible tragedy Kate is ready to try and open herself up again. Wanting a new start, Kate and her best Friend Charlie movie in together. This is where Kate first meets Roger, the building manager. Later, she begins classes at the university and meets Mark, the gorgeous ladies’ man. Afterwards, at her mentor program she meets Neil, the handsome but persistent lawyer.

One of these men will capture her heart, one will try but strike out, but one will do anything to have her…even if that means committing murder.

Neil is a hard working successful lawyer at his father’s firm. He gets what he wants when he wants. He isn’t used to women saying no to him so when Kate offers a challenge he is up for the task. He will win over Kate and make her his. As the two get to know each other their attraction and desire for each other explodes.

Mark is a ladies man at the University. But Mark is looking for a girl that has beauty and brains. Not just beauty, like Kate quickly guesses. When Kate walks into the classroom he is instantly enchanted with her and decides that he wants her. As he tries to talk to her he realizes that she does not care for his lifestyle. But the two have an attraction for each other and when they are together it is hard to fight off.

Roger is an ex-military man who has a dark past. When Roger first hears Kate during their phone conversations he knows that he must get her to rent out the apartment next to him. And when she does he realizes that he also wants Kate to himself. At all cost.

As the story unravels you will find yourself at the edge of your seat. You will be angry with one of the men, enraptured with the other and terrified of the other. You will be invested in this book because of the suspense and relationships brewing throughout the pages.

But I must address the 3.5 rating...

1. While reading I felt there was a sense of aloofness from Kate's perspective. I felt like her parts were not very engaging and consisted of pretty much all the same series of events.

2. I thought the “winning” guy was a little too possessive and he didn’t really capture my attention until maybe later on in the book. I however quickly enjoyed the other “potential” guy and wished that there were more scenes with him. I was saddened with his outcome and my heart broke for him. I will not give you names because it will be a spoiler and I try to steer clear of them.

3. The third guy. He is the main reason for the rating. Any part with him simply gave me the creeps. He was a sociopath. I was repulsed and just wanted to quickly read beyond any of his parts.

What I do have to do is applaud Carlie for mastering the view into the sociopaths head but it was creepy and I found myself feeling quite nauseous reading his parts.

So here’s what I suggest: Buy this. Read it. Enjoy/Like/Love it.

Goodreads book description:

If you believe your life is the sum total of your choices, what do you do when things just don’t add up? You are about to find out. It won’t be pretty. It won’t be dull. And surely, it won’t be safe. In fact, making just one wrong choice could put evil at your bedside watching you sleep.

And so it is with Kate Simmons, a young woman who, by choosing to regain her life, actually puts it at risk by the very choices she makes. After unimaginable heartbreak stops her world on a dime, Kate falls into a three-year blackness of self blame that brings her to the edge of life, itself. As time finally brings light back through tiny cracks of renewed desire, Kate moves out of the prison she made for herself in her mother’s home to find a new reality, rooming with her best girlfriend, Charlie.

Yet, to be free is to be vulnerable, and Kate’s choices more than ever mark a splattered line between being happy and being dead.

Care to choose? Here’s your menu:
A strangely alluring building manager so possessed with wanting you for his own, he’ll bury more than the fact he has a girlfriend; a buff college student for whom you are clearly hot, as are all the other girls on campus; a pushy lawyer who is as handsome as he is intoxicated with conquest, who doesn’t take no for an answer, who gets what he wants — always.

Sometimes, it’s whom you choose. Sometimes, it’s who chooses you. If you’re Kate, it’s both, and it puts you on a perilous road where good looks and humor are the thin masks of jealous delusion and utter violence.

You’re in trouble when the sum total of your choices is written in blood red.

Becca's Book Review:

I was give this book as an ARC by Carlie. and if you are a fan of the show Dexter you are going to love this book.. I have a huge list of book that I love in the murder mystery folder, and this one is going to top of the list..

Kate is a beautiful girl who has just been going through life, she lost the what she thought was the love of her life in an accident and blamed herself for a long time, she shut her emotions off. she is finally back in control of her life, moved into a great apartment with her BFF, started back to school, and has a full time job.. she knows that she wants to love again, she misses every aspect of having relationship.

on her first day back to school she meets a guy that all the girls are drawn to handsome college co-ed that has no problem take a different girl home with him every night. Mark Baxter is someone that Kate wants to stay away from, but when Mark takes notices of Kate and want to be friends and possibly more she isn't sure if she is ready for anyone of that.

one of the things with going back to school is signing up for a mentor from an alum but when her tour guide Neil is a no show and she is left talking to another tour guide Mac who happens to be a good friend of Neil's and happens to take a picture and send it to Neil.

Neil Statton is a lawyer working at his fathers firm, when he can't make it to be Kate's tour guide and receives a text from Best Pal Mac he knows that he is going to have to meet Kate no matter what. but she isn't going to make it easy for him.

Kate now meets Neil and feelings she never experienced before come around and she knows that they are meant to be together but others have other ideas about that.

This book keeps you wondering if there will ever be a happy ever after but more than that it makes you think about everything that has happened in the book and if Kate will make the right choice..

I can't wait for more of this series and from Carlie Sexton!!!

*4/5 Stars*

Well, I will say that this book too a little bit to get into. I had to keep putting it down and coming back to it. It was a good book and I would LOVE to read the second one because the book took me away right at the end.

Roger is a very handsome but very creepy 38 year old manager of an apartment complex and he ends up talking to Kate about renting a place to her and her friend but somehow some way Roger has fallen head over heels for Kate and he has never even met her! Talk about crazy!! Throughout the whole book, you keep going back to Roger and what Roger is thinking. It was really hard to connect with Roger because he was just so wow and so out there. I mean he is sleeping with his girlfriend, Rose, while he is with her he is having this secret relationship in his head with Kate. But Kate doesn’t even really know that Roger exists. So, Rogers character is very out there and is creepy right from page one!

Quote from Roger: He imagined that Rose was Kate as he devoured her mouth with his.

That right there is just insane! And just a little nutsoid!

Kate is this lost soul of a girl that is drop dead gorgeous - but just like most females in books she doesn't realize this and then she finds herself stuck between two drop dead sexy guys that want her. She has had a terrible past and two huge things happened in it so it has made her so guarded and has kept her sheltered from guys in general. So when she goes back to college and is slapped in the face by a hot co-ed she doesn’t know if she should be attracted OR run the other way! Kate also decides to try and meet up with an alumnus from her college to get to know the school and activates better. Well, she is stood up which pisses her off! But little does she know that she is going to be chased down by the most handsome man that she has ever seen!

Quote from Kate: “Mm,” she moaned softly. “Last night was the best dessert I have ever had. I especially enjoyed how you served it to me.”

So I do love the fact that the book does mature a little bit along with the book…

The only thing that truly bugged me about this book is it kind of felt a little all over the place. It was told thru the eyes of a third party but it followed basically every character in the book. It tended to change from moment to moment. So that bugged me but other than that I think this book was a great suspenseful erotica and I would love to read the second book.

And congrats to Carlie =)

Fallen for you by Carlie Sexton

Kate has gone through loss and guilt, and has tried to stay away from All men. She just became a shadow of herself and lived in a shell. She finally decided to try to move on with her life by moving with her best friend. As she tries to settle into her new life, going to school and work, she finds not only one man, but three men wanting to be with her. Little does she know that one of them could be the death of her... Literally!

Wow! What an Intense story! This book has it All! Romance, Love, Mystery, Thriller, and a whole lot More!

I really was on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen. I mean, one minute I'm turning the pages because I can't wait to see who she picks, AND... Want to read the romance in this book! The romance is Yummy! The mystery keeps you on your toes! Your mind is everywhere! Mystery... Romance... What will Rodger do?... What will Neil do?... What will happen?!? I was feeling all this at once and More!

This is just... Intence! I mean you can't help but to swoon over Neil! He is yummy and sweet and caring and Ugh! Can I have him? But then you wonder what's going to happen with Rodger! What is this man going to do?!?!?!!! We also have the playboy Mark! I mean one minute you are not sure about him, the next you feel for him!

Talk about emotional overdrive!

There is so much going on in this story and it is so hard to say anymore without giving anything away! You have to read to see what I mean about how Rodger is and how Neil is!

This is a good read if you like romance with a twist of thriller. I really enjoyed the story in this book. It was a nice change from other romance I have read. It really is a page turner because you just can't help but to want to see what Rodger is going to do!

It does leave you on a cliffhanger, however the second book is already out so there is no wait after you read this one. I Like how the author ended the way she did. It left you wanting to know what is going to happen. It was quit Intence! The ending works in this book, I think if she was going to write a second then the ending in the first should have been done this way.
(You will see what I mean)

I would recommend this book and give it a 4.5 rate. I would also warn about the cliffhanger, but let it be known, There is a book 2! (and its already out!!)

Thank You Carlie for this book! I needed a read like this ;)

I would give this story 5++++ stars it was that amazing. There are no words to describe how deeply I was drawn into this book, Carlie Sexton did an fantastic job with the plot and character development. There are so many layers to this book that you cannot put it down, you just want to make it to the next page and see what is going to happen. This book has it all, there is love, suspense, creepy stalkers, tragedy and second chances.

We start out with Roger (apartment manager) getting ready to show an apartment to Kate and Charlie. For me I was instantly hooked just reading Roger’s thoughts you knew you were getting ready for one hell of a ride. Roger is beyond creepy in his thought process of meeting Kate, he is already thinking about getting her into the apartment across from him and hoping Charlie is not a boyfriend. Kate and Charlie (who is Kate’s best friend) show up to look at the apartment that is for rent. We find out that Kate is struggling with something very tragic and is trying to move forward with the help of her best friend. They take the apartment and move in right away because Kate is starting her junior year of college after taking a 2 year break.

During her first day of classes Kate is instantly attracted to Mark a guy in all of her classes but she is completely turned off by his whole ladies man persona. Kate ends up meeting a lawyer Neil who has her heart racing and allowing her to feel alive again for the first time in two years. However she finds herself torn between which man is genuine and which one is just looking to get her into bed. Then she is dealing with creepy Roger who always has his door open and who always seems to want for her to come over. I loved how the book just didn’t focus on Kate’s point of view you also got to see what was going on in Roger, Mark and Neil’s heads as well.

The romance is over the top amazing and heartwarming, the sex is super steamy, the friendships are ones that cannot be broken and the fear is palpable that you actually feel it in your chest. I know I have not giving you a lot to go on but that is because I want you to read this book. I am not a fan of spoilers so I refuse to give you more of this story. Just know that once you start you will not be able to stop. I already have a copy of book two Taken by You and am starting it as soon as this review is posted.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

When I first started to read this book I thought that this would be a book with the thriller part of just the love struggle between the same men wanting the same women. I was definitely wrong with this intial though. The author weaves the book in the beginning to make you think that you have it all figured out just to get a shock of twists as the story continues. I love seeing beautiful covers so was more than willing to see what treasures lay in this one.

Kate and her best friend Charlie have decided to venture out and move in an apartment that they believe is a quiet and friendly complex. This was a fresh beginning for both and new opportunities. Even the complex manager, Roger, who lives next door appears to be nice. After life has taken a toll, Kate has decided to start living again and including going to college. Strange things start to happen when the ladies move into the apartment complex first starting with Roger taking an interest in when Kate comes and goes. Then when she goes to college and meets Mark who is almost all of her classes and has all the attention of the women on campus but would like to know Kate. Also being new to the college, Kate is assigned a mentor Neil, who has stood her up but refuses to take no for an answer when he attempts to contact Kate. So Kate has three men who all are wanting her attention, which she is not used to, and to top it all off they are all amazingly sexy. However, not all of it seems to be good!! I will say this, all three of them have a different motive and very different personalities.

Overall I enjoyed this book and the story, only thing that I did have an issue with was a phase that was continuously mentioned, but the author picked it for a reason and I respect their choices. Carlie Sexton makes you keep wanting to go on when you read and also at times in the book you just stop and have a blow your mind moment. As the author shows on the cover it is a first part of a book so there will be more and the second one is already out and available for purchase. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone that enjoys romance/thriller/ and suspense all in one sitting. I will be starting to read the second one shortly.

I'm not sure how to classify this book. I'm not sure if it's erotica or a mystery because it has both. Frankly, I thought the a few of the sex scenes were gratuitous and unnecessarily graphic but hey, I guess that's what's selling these days.

The story starts out with Kate and her best friend, Charlie, getting an apartment together and meeting with the manager, Roger. Roger had the hots for Kate right from the beginning and I thought he was going to be the love interest. No. She didn't return his interest nor did she lead him on.

Meanwhile, she is being pursued by a hot guy named Mark, who she goes to school with and another hot guy named Neil, who is a lawyer. She figures Mark is a player but gives him her number because he wants to study with her. At the same time, Neil is in tow and is wooing her and doesn't know about Mark or Roger.

Up until this time, she hadn't been involved with any man since the loss of her boyfriend, David. I didn't know what had happened to him and the details didn't come out until later in the story, but it was that part that kept me reading.

Then it flipped in a good way. A couple of people who are close to Kate disappear and all roads lead to Roger. I don't want to say much about him because the story really focuses on him after this and it gets a little bizarre and scary.

I didn't like Roger and I'm not too sure I like Neil, either. The way he calls Kate, "my beauty" makes him sound like a wolf stalking his prey. It makes him sound slimy and superficial and it makes me want to go take a shower to get the filth off myself. What would happen if she were to get into a car accident or something and have that beauty marred? Would he still love her? It makes me wonder.

When Kate notices that Mark and Neil look somewhat alike, I was like, "Oh, my God. They're brothers," and I was going to stop reading the book after I confirmed they were. I didn't want to go to that circus. But they weren't and I was able to finish it.

The story got three stars for the great cliffhanger at the end which makes me want to read the next installation. It was hard for me to get into it at first but after I got to about page 100, it really took off. I didn't want to put it down.

Star Rating: 4 out of 5

Heat Rating: HOT

When I picked up this book to start reading it I thought I knew where it was going go and was WRONG! This was definitely a book that had a chilling stalker, murder, suspense and romance all rolled into one really great story.

Kate and her best friend Charlie are finally moving into their own place, this is where we are introduced to Roger. Roger is the manager of the apartment building the girls move into and he is keeping close tabs on Kate. Little does Kate know that this one decision would change not just her life, but so many others.

After taking a break from life Kate is finally ready to jump back in and start living. She has a full time job, a new place to live and is going back to finish her college education. On the first day of classes she encounters Mark, the good looking guy that every girl wants a piece of but Kate and then Neil, the lawyer and her mentor that stands her up for their meeting. Kate soon starts getting lots of attention and not all of it is the good kind. (I will stop there so you can read this story as it is supposed to be read; unspoiled)

Carlie Sexton did a great job of creating these characters, letting the reader learn bits and pieces of their lives without dumping it all on you at once. Honestly, this book really impressed me, not too many story tellers can creep you out, make you squirm and get you excited to turn the next page, but Carlie did.

This is a three part series, so there is a bit of a cliffhanger so we all will have to wait and see what happens in the next book, coming out this summer. I am very thankful that Carlie sent me this book to review! I don't typically read romantic thrillers and I might have let this one slip by, and that would have been a shame indeed! I can't wait to get started on book two and I will be looking for more amazing things to come from Carlie Sexton! A great debut that you should add to your reading list this summer!!

Fallen for You: Carlie Sexton ~Joni's review

Fallen For You/ Taken by You photo 1002997_195415787288521_1152527854_n_zps0cea90ae.jpg

Fallen For You is not like the books I typically read after reading a few of the reviews on it I thought I'm reading this it sounds interesting. Well let me tell you it was something. It kept me turning the pages it was creepy, goose bump inducing, with OMG, and WTH moments. The writing is not over descriptive but straight and to the point and I didn't feel like I was missing something or needed more info at all. I was too busy turning pages and needing to know what happened next.

Kate is a sweet young woman who is still learning to deal with a tragedy that left her broken.
She has avoided men for three years and now she is ready to start putting her life back on track. She starts by renting an apartment with her best friend Charlie and heading back to college to finish her degree.

Right from the very beginning I knew Roger was one to watch for. You ever meet someone who just gives you the willies? Well that is Roger! He becomes obsessed with Kate and will do whatever it takes to win her! Then there is Mark hot college student who wants to date Kate. His harem of women hanging all over him does not help his case at all. And finally Neil a gorgeous attorney that wants it all with Kate. They all want Kate for themselves.

Things happen and people are missing some are dead.

Who can she trust?

Who will she chose? .

Who will be left standing at the end?

I am going to give Fallen For You 4 “Crazie” stars!

Fallen For You is an erotic thriller with a lot going on. Two best friends move into a new apartment and don't know what they are in for with their new landlord. Kate is a beautiful college student but has had her guard up regarding men for the past two years. All of a sudden she finds herself with several men falling at her feet. Kate makes her decision of which one she wants, but it doesn't end there. The other men try to stake their claim too. It turns out that one is a serial killer hell bent on having Kate to himself. I liked the premise of the story. Rodger started out as a creepy landlord but then all of a sudden he was literally psycho! The transition was a little fast for me. I thought once he started showing his true colors, his character blossomed and I believed that he was capable of doing those gruesome acts.
"I just want to be with you. I think that I've fallen for you."

I loved Kate and Neil together. They ended up being perfect for each other and he was an honest guy. I loved how forward he was and pushed Kate out of her comfort zone a little bit, but in a good way. Their pasts only strengthened that bond. Many of their scenes were hot and sexy! I want to know how things progress with them!

Parts of the story were a little weak, like the police's interest in the case. I felt like they left Kate hanging and to her own devices. I also was bummed when we skipped over a whole month at the end. However, the ending captivated me and I can't wait to read the next book! I hope it has a lot to do with Rodger and his craziness! Also, we don't have to wait long for books 2 and 3 because Carlie Sexton plans to release all 3 this summer! Great idea!!! 3.5 stars!

We Divas had the pleasure of reading Fallen For You by Carlie Sexton and let me tell you we were not disappointed! This book was romantic, sexy, and suspenseful. At every turn, Fallen For You was a true nail biter. Carlie, you delivered!

The story revolves around Kate Simmons; a hard working college student who is trying to rebuild her life by leaving the tragedies of her past and moving forward with her roommate and best friend, Charlie. The two beautiful women are excited that they have found the apartment of their dreams; little did they know at what cost… maybe their lives?

The last thing Kate expected was to find herself in the middle of three devastatingly handsome men who are all eagerly wanting to become more a part of her life. But which one will she choose? Which one can’t live without her? Which one will kill to be with her?

As a debut author, Carlie already has an amazing ability to draw the reader into her world and keep us intrigued with her story and characters! She left us immediately wanting more and can’t wait to see what she has in store for Kate and the men in her life! The Divas are giving Fallen For You by Carlie Sexton an enthusiastic 4.5 out of 5 champagne glasses!!! Cheers to you, Carlie, we can’t wait to see your career skyrocket from here!

5 Stars

This books is an amazing read. It leaves you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what is going to happen. I didn't want to put this book down.

Kate is trying to overcome her broken heart. She decides to move out of her moms house and move into an apartment with her best friend Charlie. They finally found the dream apartment. They loved everything about it until the manager Roger started acting possessive of Kate. He was always waiting for her to leave and return from school or work. Kate doesn't know what to do to dissuade him from wanting her.

Mark is the hot sexy classmate of Kate. He shows am interest in Kate, but Kate is leery of him because he always has a harem of girls around him. Last thing she wants is to get involved with a ladies man.

Neil is the hot lawyer who doesn't know how to take "No" for an answer. He is used to getting what he wants and he wants Kate. Can he get Kate to overlook his womanizing ways and be with him? Can he protect her from Roger?

This book left me wanting so much more. I cannot wait for Taken by You! Great job on this amazing book Carlie Sexton.

Carlie Sexton really does an amazing job with this erotic, sexy thriller with twists, turns and some seriously hot guys. You are literally holding your breath waiting for the other shoe to drop. I will say there is a serious creepiness factor that has you covered in goose bumps and maybe even sleeping with the lights on...

Kate Simmons, a young college student, and her best friend Charlie decide to move out of their parents homes and get their own place. They find what they believe to be the perfect apartment. The apartment manager Roger obviously has some interest in Kate and seems to always be around when she is coming and going.

My Mom loved this book and I had to immediately get her book 2 and 3. I have not finished this book yet but suspense is not always my cup of tea like it is my Mom's. I know I will go back and finish cause if Mom liked it as much as she did it has to be really good. I think I was just not in right frame of mind to read a good suspense when I picked it up to read. That is if I can ever get my copy of it back from my Mom she seems to have claimed it lol
