From writer/artist Bo Hampton, comes a high-action, supernatural western that centers around a pact of vengeance sworn by a tragically orphaned Gypsy girl, an ex-slave with no soul, and a carnival freak billed as the Human Wolf. Gaining strength and courage from each other, they set off across the Old West―in search of the three hideous, inhuman entities that caused their torment and haunt their lives.
via NYPL - Pretty good story and artwork, following a band is misfit heroes (orphaned gypsy woman, zombie ex-slave, and wolf boy) out for revenge. Neither the characters nor the plot are going to challenge your ideas about supernatural and/or western story tropes, but it's a satisfying riff within the confines of what it is.
Readers should also note this book simply introduces the characters and bring them together. Their individual stories remain open for future installments.
Bo Hampton's twisted Western set in the 1880s featuring a trio of outcasts, some supernaturally powered, as they band together on a vengeful mission. The tone is more one of epic adventure than morbidity (although there are some quite violent scenes), and I hope the series continues.
This graphic novel reminds me of the first season of "Preacher" in many ways. It's "the beginning of an epic adventure saga". set in the 19th century and in a world full of mysteries, this series is a pretty standard revenge drama where
The art is decent, the presentation has the necessary horror elements. But, as I've said this is just the beginning. Sadly, there's still no answer to when the next part of this saga will come.
