Ann is just a young girl when she meets Mat. She thinks she is living a normal life until one day she discovers the betrayal that has gone on for years. The shocking discoveries in her life from there tests her strength and courage. Through injury, betrayal, illness, death, she pushes on. Based on a true life story, she discovers just what she is made of.
I’m not sure how I would exactly describe this book. It felt as if I was reading multiple diary entries. Ann DeChellis’ life story is one I believe many women have experienced. (In terms of her marriage and the betrayal that followed).
Her honesty was both blunt and refreshing while reading her story. She let you into her world and with very little detail, she gives an intimate look into her life, the struggles that came to her and her resilience in overcoming all that was thrown at her.
This could have been a really great story, however, the writing is very choppy. The flow is off....in spots needing more narrative it's clipped and too short and is long and drawn out in areas that just need skimming. Also, the writer jumps around from on tense to another, sometimes within the same sentence, making reading difficult at times. A good proofreader or editor should have caught this and corrected it. But it is was overall a very uplifting and spiritual story.
