The third book about Nokuthula, bringing the adventure, the humour and the pathos experienced while living in the wilds of Africa. The familiar group of characters appear again, as do a few more waifs and strays. The plight of the rhino takes centre-stage in One Chance, bringing awareness to the risk they face on a daily basis.
A fantastic collection of experience in Africa from a brilliant writer with a great love of the land and the animals. Funny, sad and educational and a must read if you enjoy wildlife conservation and trying to put a stop to poaching. I have found these books by Brian Connell to be talked about and recommended to all that care about these issues he is so passionate about
I've read all your books in this series Brian and Wow. This one particularly had me crying deeply. The poaching of the rhino with her baby. It makes me ashamed to be a human in this case. Why? I have learned so much from you in these books and I will definitely pass this knowledge on. I truly Thank you.
Brian Connell makes it clear in his writings that humans are destroying huge numbers of iconic wildlife for no reasons other than greed or the desire to kill. His plea to humanity is to protect what nature has created. Can we Durham? I fervently hope so! Thank you Brian!
I didn't enjoy this book as much. Just talking about the animals and their ways of living. The first of the book made me cry with the first story. After that I lost interest cause there was no going out with tourists or doing anything fun.
Man I don't usually do three stars but I just couldn't really enjoy this story. I thought it was a little boring. But I loved the recipes and plan on making it..

I just finished my first trip to Africa and now relate a little to all the sentiments expressed. I recommend to all wildlife lovers and conservationists.
