There's an entertaining story here if you're willing to forgive the flaws.

PRO
-Tim Miller writes gore and torture porn eloquently.
-Has elements of Miriam Black, with a different set of powers.
-The potential for a great story is here, with promises of a sequel.

CON (spoiler friendly from here on out)
-Clunky dialogue.
-Flat characters.
-Poor exposition.

I can't write a story, short or full length. I always feel guilty if I'm overly harsh or critical because the writer is always one up on me. If you have the wherewithal to publish that gives you a lot of credibility in my eyes. I've yet to share a 1 star because just having the thing in front of me at least validates a 2 star.
Yet here I am. Standing on my soapbox, lunging at windmills that aren't even there.

-Our anti hero, Sable, just needed more. More of a reason to care about her. More backstory. Not 2nd hand info told as an afterthought. Why should I care? Because she takes care of her sick mom?
-Why are her and Maria best friends? Give me a reason to love or hate her, other than the obvious.
-For the villain. How the sudden shift from slime ball greaser to serial killer. I found myself creating reasons to move it along in a vague context that made sense in my head.
-How did the coven leader get in contact with the villain the first place? Was he buying drugs and mentioned witchy powers in passing? Again, I just had to make up reasons.

This is soooo close to being great and it almost ticks me off that it wasn't. This is a great 1st draft. A critical beta reader, another pass and this would have shined.

Sable has a unique talent, and it has nothing to do with her dominatrix skills. She can bring back the dead, if only for a little while, by playing with their intestines. It doesn’t sound like a job with a pension but the pay is good and sometimes a girl just isn’t given a choice.
When the new boss in town finds out just what she can do her whole life falls apart and she doesn’t know who she can trust. One thing is for sure and it’s that her power is her best chance of survival.
This book is not for the faint-hearted and if you are listening to it via audiobook, then I’d advise headphones.
I have read one of Tim Miller’s books before and I must say, this book wasn’t at all what I expected. Sable is such a strong lead character that I really connected with her. She was an honest character with plenty of wit and warmth to draw me in.
There’s plenty of violence which is Miller’s forte but it doesn’t dominate the book, excuse the pun. The gore is imaginative and amusing; it is also necessary. Miller has that rare talent of being able to portray the inner workings of a sadist, without losing the humour and readability of the story.
I believe there may be a book two in the future and can’t wait to see what Sable is up to.

Not for the Faint of Heart!

OMWow! Where to begin with this little gem of a story? I Loved this twisted thrill ride.

Tim Miller has a very active imagination for starters. I always enjoy a terrifying Miller story. I haven't come across another author yet to compare Mr. Miller to.

This audio book kept me on the edge of my seat wondering where he would go next, what a horrific thrill ride.

The world is dark and sadistic, full of WTF? moments taking me on a journey of fear, anger, horror, and then some. The characters are unique, original, and so sinisterly twisted I am truly amazed by the authors descriptive writing style.

I found myself listening to some chapters a few times. To hear the narrator's presentation of the character My favorite favorite narrated voice belongs to Maria!.Great narrating Dee Butchery.

I was gifted an audio book by the author in exchange for an honest review. No renumeration was involved.

Wow...just wow.

This is the first book of Tim Miller's that I have read and it certainly won't be the last!!

If you are looking for extreme horror than this is it! Lots of gore, extreme sex....all the things I love!

I am not the kind of reviewer that gives a synopsis of the story, I let the more experienced do that.

Awesome, Tim!! Can't wait to read the next in this series...now I am off to read Hell Texas!!

A different Tim Miller book

First off, I only have five stars cause I couldn't go higher, with that said what a book!!!! This was a student Tim Miller book than what I'm used to. Yes there was gore but there was a hell of a story. Have we found our next April? This isn't for the faint of heart, but if you can take the blood and gore do yourself a favor and read this!!!! I highly, highly, highly recommend to all fans of modern horror!!!!!!!

An S&M hooker, Sable, communicates with the dead for drug-dealing gangsters until a gangster with his own powers takes over the drug business and wants her to work for him. A good story, quite gory, and horrific. I enjoyed it enough that I wished there were more about the main character, Sable. The author stays on track with his plots, but I wish he would go into side stories that develop his characters further. Nevertheless, well done, and worthy of the sequel planned--looking forward to it.

**** Warning this book is not for the faint of heart or those who are not okay with graphic sometimes gory scenes of violence, torture, and sexual situations. ****

A sick and twisted little game of who's the baddest witch in town. Although all the players may not be witches in the strictest sense they are hellbent on playing said game.

I found Sable's snarky bad-ass attitude distracting enough to over like some of the more sick and twisted events that take place in the book. I wasn't fond of the over the top things that Henry did throughout this book nor do I feel that some of said events were even required to give the reading an idea of how insane this guy is.

All the crazy aside I was sickly entertained with this book and would definitely continue on with the next book.

Mwahahahaha! Yes, that is an evil laugh based upon my enjoyment of reading this book. Tim Miller has an incredible talent for writing entertaining stories that simply explode onto the page and don't let up. If you have read any of Tim's work before then you know he isn't shy about writing about the more extreme side of horror fiction.

Necrowitch is no exception and has a solid female protagonist with plenty of gruesome scenes and obligatory torture moments. It was fascinating to read as I've never quite read a story where witches have been used in such an extreme horror situation. Like many of Tim's books, it is quite unique and he will twist a theme on it's head to create stories which are completely outrageous yet incredibly addictive.

I won't write too much more about the storyline as you need to read it for yourself! Keep writing Mr Miller and I shall keep on buying.

Amazing!

Sable has a unique ability. She can talk to the deceased. With a new crime boss rising in her town will she be able to protect her loved ones from his evil? This is an amazing story with promise of a sequel. You'll be shaking your head in amazement as the story unfolds. Definitely not what you'd expect and worth every moment of suspense!

Witches, death, and sex! Pretty damn twisted book as Tim Miller's books usually are. He is always VERY creative in how he kills off characters. Dee Butchery, in my opinion, is probably his best narrator! She always does a great job and certainly acts the parts very well!

Tim 'The Mad Hatter' Miller is at it again....he's so obviously part machine.
NecroWitch WILL be another fantastic and dementedly fun new series, at least it better be!!
It just blood curdingly screams 'SEEERIES!!'.

Meet Sable, a sexy dominatrix who discovered a rather odd gift after a car accident. Now she has mob ties, they employ her unique service and they render payments a plenty.
She's happy and does well for herself, able to care for her ailing mothers medical needs and has a best friend roomie and confidant named Marie.

New up and comer former pawn shop & petty drug dealer Henry has discovered he also has a rather odd gift, now he's calling monopoly on the mob, guys a real headache...the kind that even quad strength Motrin says ~ NOPE.
He makes the other mob sound like they Godfather from Sesame Street.
Definitely one of the most evil and vile Miller characters I have read yet!
Yep, he was fabulous!

Henry finds out about Sable's ability by using his own ability on some of his minions and decides that he could sure use her in his new empire, she's be quite the asset.
Well, our Sable ain't one to be tamed, she's as feisty and sassy as they come (think April from that other fantastic Miller series).
Heads are butted, blood is shed, and what few morals were still lingering about are quickly gutted, copulated, and fondled. Believe me, that will all make perfect sense, it's The Tim Way.
It's very intestingly head blowing. <---- that should hopefully make sense as well.

Tim is a favorite author of mine for sure, he has such an insane and diiiirty imagination. He's not afraid to 'push it'....push it till it POPS!! He finds new and inventive ways to deliver any sort of debauchery and these deplorable yet highly enjoyable acts are always within a great story with tons of fun and crazily well written characters.
I especially delight in his strong sarcastic female leads. I like to think I relate.

Keep sporting that crude, lewd, and wicked brilliance Mr. Miller ~ it suits you well.

Great book!

I just loved the powers that Sable and Henry possessed. They both had powers they could have used for good but used it for bad. Henry definitely turned into a creedy and powerful man in which he thought he was on top of the world and he could do anything he wanted. Sable proved him that he wasn't
