Superstar teen idol Rise Kujikawa escapes to Inaba for a much-needed break from the limelight, and the usually sleepy town is caught in the grip of celebrity fever! But when Rise suddenly appears on the Midnight Channel and goes missing soon thereafter, it's up to Soji, Chie, and the rest of the crew to rescue her from the TV World and figure out what - if anything - Rise shares in common with the previous kidnapping victims. The battle scenes are underwhelming, and Rise’s arc has always had a bit too much fan service, but volume 4 is a great adaption of this point in the overall story. That said, I still maintain that this manga really only works if you’re already a fan of Persona 4 and have played through the game. I don’t think the story stands on its own if you’re coming in with no prior knowledge.

I could do without the homophobia and Rise fan service.

One of my favourites so far
📺 It took a while for Rise to get kidnapped and I like that. She has a whole one-on-one with Yu before she's abducted.
📺 Perfectly replicates the odd and anti-climactic feeling of "oh. We did it I guess ://"
📺 I think the various sexual aspects were both exactly what the dungeon is intended to be but also really painful to sit there and watch. The latter is probably due to the acts being portrayed in a comedic light. Not a fan.
📺 Perfect portrayal of Rise's character I think. It's very on the nose I will say but I do think the game is just very indirect with Rise's characterization. She was a great show-not-tell character. While the manga does not adapt this, I enjoyed her character nonetheless.
