Morgan Brothers #3

Ball Peen Hammer

Rate this book
From the USA Today and Internationally bestselling author of The Club Series, Hero, and Captain, Lauren Rowe, comes a sexy standalone romantic comedy about Keane Morgan: Ball Peen Hammer.

Keane Morgan wouldn’t return any of my calls or texts, and I was pissed as hell about it. I didn’t want to drive from Seattle to L.A. with the guy any more than he wanted to drive with me, but I had no frickin’ choice in the matter--at least, not if I wanted to use his brother Dax’s coveted parking spot at UCLA.

Okay, so it turned out Keane was objectively gorgeous, and, fine, pretty funny, too. But did he have to be so damned in love with himself? I mean, jeez, the cocky way he flashed those dimples was just so orchestrated. And, honestly, what kind of guy uses the phrase “baby doll” with a straight face? Oh, that’s right: the kind of guy who’s a male stripper.

Yup, the cocky jerk turned out to be Seattle’s answer to Magic Mike, a stripper known as “Ball Peen Hammer”--which meant Keane Morgan was emphatically not the kind of guy I’d ever fall for.

Not. At. All.

No freakin’ way.

Well, until Keane convinced me to fall for him, that is.

Which I did.

Hard.

NOTE:
Ball Peen Hammer is a full-length, standalone sexy romantic comedy about Keane Morgan (one of four Morgan brothers introduced in The Club Series) and Maddy Milliken (the little sister of Hannah Banana Montana Milliken). This book is a standalone book in The Morgan Brothers Series, a spin-off of THE CLUB SERIES, and can be read as a complete standalone. The Morgan Brothers books are intended to be read in any order.

Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

This is my fourth book by Lauren Rowe and they just keep getting better and better! I'm loving devouring her back-list and I can see her quickly becoming a new favorite of mine! Ball Peen Hammer is a book I thought I'd love but honestly I didn't expect it to be a five star read for me. As much as I love funny books and rom-coms, it can be hard for them to hit all of my five star love buttons. This book though... honestly there was nothing I didn't love about it. It was the most hilarious and adorable book I've read in so long and had so much heart.
I’ve never met anyone like Keane Morgan. He’s Daffy Duck trapped inside Prince Charming’s body.

Keane Morgan is the Morgan brother I was most excited to read about and his story did not disappoint. Keane and Maddy's first interaction is through text and it's a bit of a mess. Maddy is giving Keane a ride to LA- her sister and Keane's brother are neighbors, and she did not expect Keane Morgan.

Keane is a stripper and he's the most hilarious person ever. He and Maddy become fast friends after they get over their texting snafu and the unthinkable happens. Keane, who never does relationships starts to fall for Maddy. He falls hard and he doesn't know what to do about it. Keane, like all the Morgan's has a big heart and really is a softy. He doesn't want to hurt anyone which is why he never seriously gets with anyone. He knows with his job it can make things complicated. Maddy loves Keane's larger than life personalty and even helps him with his SM/career. They are an unlikely pair but really perfect for one another.

My favorite thing about this (aside from Keane Morgan and the romance of course) is the friendship between Keane and Zander. I feel like Zander is an honorary Morgan brother by this point and he and Keane together were just the best! I'm so glad his book is next. Although we didn't get quite as much of the Morgan family as we did in the first two books, it was still great to see them all. I love this family so much!

I listened to the audio book and I know I'm probably sounding like a broken record at this point but John Lane and Lauren Rowe killed it with the narration. How this woman can write this epically AND narrate a book like this... such talent! I will for sure read all of Rowe's books in audio format- especially the ones she narrates!

If you're looking for a funny friends to lovers romance that will make you laugh till you cry, and is swoony, steamy, sweet, and all around a good time- pick up Ball Peen Hammer

Before anything else, I wanna let y'all know that this is my first Lauren Rowe read and I'm just speechless! Maybe because as I'm writing this review I feel too gassy? My stomach is aching because of laughing too hard and I just can't gather my thoughts. OMG! I think I lost my brain somewhere here in my house because of too much laughing!

**********

Okay, so this is my first ever Lauren Rowe read (already said that hahaha) and I think it's one of the biggest regrets I have in my reading life. I'm ashamed to call myself bookish for not knowing Lauren Rowe before BPH. Where have you been Lauren? WHEEERRRREEE???!

BALL PEEN HAMMER is the story of one of Seattle's best male strippers, Keane "Peenie" Morgan and the timid yet very smart Maddy Milliken. Keane never had any problems getting any woman he wants, and Maddy was always shoved by the guys she liked in the friendzone. Both of them didn't have any idea that they're in for the craziest roadtrip of their lives.

How these two ended up driving for two days to L.A., you ask me? I'm not tellin' ya! You gotta find out yourself.

This is not insta love story and you'll definitely love how their chemistry develops in the book. Their differences and the way they compliment each other will amaze you. I'm talking peanut butter and jelly here! And milk and cookie! You get my point right? Okay.

Even the side characters are amazing. You will definitely love Maddy's older sister Hannah and each of the Morgans; Keane's parents, brothers and sister. And how can I forget Keane's best friend Zander?

Whenever I read books, I usually take a break after reading 5 or so chapters, but Lauren Rowe made it veeeeerrrry (see how much I emphasized my adverb there?) difficult for me to stop reading. The dialogues are hysterical, so you just read and read until your eyes hurt and your stomach aches. Then next thing you know, you're almost done because you couldn't help but devour the entire thing!

Getting my Lauren Rowe cherry popped (thank you Peenie for improving my vocabulary!) is probably one of the best things that happened to me this 2016. Like SERIOUSLY! This woman's a genius! Her words and her story will drive you insane and will make you forget all the things that you have to do for the rest of your life.

Keane Morgan has squeezed himself in my "Most Favorite" book boyfriends list for so many reasons. Not just he's extremely gorgeous. He's cocky and he speaks his effin' mind anytime, anywhere. He's sweet and does really sweet things without trying hard. He's also very honest and straightforward. Every word that comes out of his mouth is either dirty, extremely funny or just "Nietzsche"! He's a walking ray of sunshine with rainbows and unicorns on the side.

In case you're wondering who's Lauren's inspiration... ladies, here's Matthew Noszka for ya!

Speaking of her blouse, what the fuck is up with that billowing yellow monstrosity? How the hell is a guy supposed to assess a girl's merchandise when she's wearing a loose-fitting shirt that makes her boobs as hard to find as fucking Waldo?

Find yourself a dude who makes your pulse race and let him bone the livin' fuck outta ya 'til you're screaming your own name 'cause you don't even know his.

You know in some books you love the hero and kind of hate the heroine because she's dumb, weak or complicated? In BPH, you'll love both! Maddy Milliken screams smart and adorbsicles in and out. I loved her as much as I loved Keane. She was a little aloof in the beginning, but it only lasted for a few pages! After hanging out with Keane for a few hours, he unleashed the Curious George in her! I love her arguments and she's probably one of the most realistic heroines you'll meet, EVER!

I really don't want to stop telling you a hundred more things why I love Lauren Rowe's Ball Peen Hammer, yet I want you to dive in to this book blindly just like what I did. I want you to experience the same surprise I felt when Keane and Maddy were introduced to me. I'm sure, you've never read anything like this before, because I sure haven't!

It's really difficult to say good bye to books like BPH. I can feel a really bad book hangover is coming, but I'm going to embrace that hangover with arms wide open, because BPH gave me one of the BEST reading experiences of my life!

To Lauren Rowe, be honest with me, brah... were you a dude in your past life because Keane's POV is too real!

If you're sad, READ THIS BOOK.It'll make you feel great. If you're happy and wants to be happier, READ THIS BOOK. If you like awesome witty heroes, READ THIS. If you love heroines that will inspire you, READ THIS. To make the long story short, this book is for everyone who's looking for light, fun and stress-free read. I must warn you though, you might get too attached to this book! It's highly addictive and difficult to let go. **cries**

That's it for me here. Thanks for reading my review, y'all! *drops mic* BOOM!
(See how much Keane has influenced me? *smh* LOL)

5 TOTES ADORBCSICLE ALL THE LIVE LONG DAY STARS !!

This was one of the cutest books I've read in a long time! It was silly and sweet. It was hilarious at times and I grinned so hard throughout the majority of the story.. but there was also plenty sexual tension and just the perfect amount of angst towards the end to give this super fun story that extra bite that turns the laughter into dreamy sighs when issues are resolved... Sure.. the slang and banter was over the top, that's what made this story so fun. And the steam factor... wowza!! Another thing I loved about this story is the H/h didn't jump each other right from the get go... it was a build up... a build up with so much fun and tension that when they finally got together.....

Yep, it was completely adorable and will be a definite re-read for me later. When you are looking for something light, hilarious, steamy, and just flat out fun... pick this one up. You won't be disappointed.

DNF @ 35%

I attempt to finish this book twice, but failed. I find the dialogues in this book too ridiculous for me. I usually enjoy reading romantic comedy and I love a good laugh, but in this case the humor is way too over the top. Sometimes I feel as if I'm watching a comedy by black people, not because I'm racist, but mainly because half the time I'm not even sure what is so funny due to their slang. The canned laughter will be going off in the background and I'm embarrassed because I don't get it.

Seriously, I was so close to DNFing this book, the first part was a bit of confusing because of all the weird banter going on between the Morgan family etc... But I decided to carry on simply because I was too lazy to choose another book.

As I got further into the story, I realised that the main Hero, Keane, was actually quite a loveable character once you got over his quirks. The heroine was a hit from the start I loved her.

This book is a friends to lovers/slow burn/insta love story, which makes absolutely no sense but it works!

Top marks for the best 'finally getting it on' scene in the history of books O.o That was so incredibly and deliciously sexy I can't even tell you how good it was. SO GOOD!

Bloody loved it! Seriously, it was so up my street, perfection in my eyes ❤️

So I know I am probably in the minority here...majorly, but I just struggled a lot! I wanted to Love Keane Morgan, aka Ball Peen Hammer, but I got lost in the language. I felt like I took a detour into the valley and met a motor mouth of sex appeal that "bee tee dubs" was adorbsicles, but so over the top cray that I could not connect!

Funny, yes, but in a really odd and somewhat fragmented way. Sexy, well...he is a stripper fashioned after The Magic Mike! As for the love story...Cute and Sweet?...totes cutie patootie! My cup of tea...unfortunately no. I found the most entertainment between a lost boy/stripper and his "wifey" roommate/wingman. Yep, if that sentence didn't confuse you then this book is for you.

This book both lived up to the hype and the awesome cover in pretty much every way.

I’d like to preface this review with my review for Captain since it goes into further detail about how I won this book and my mega-sadness that I didn’t read The Club series before diving into these books about the Morgan brothers.

When I was reading this book (sick with the flu and powering through books like crazy as I recovered) my 5-year-old daughter asked me what the book was about. As I sat there, glancing from the cover of the book in my hands to her innocent green eyes, I ran the synopsis through my head, immediately dismissed it, and said, “it’s about two people who go on a road trip and fall in love.”

Boom. Nailed it, bruh. (As Keane would say.)

Because, honestly, that really is what happens. And, amazingly enough, that brief G-rated description is somehow accurate ( and appealing and boring) at the same time. The story itself, though definitely appealing, was not the least bit boring despite the fact that the majority of it takes place in a car.

Just like in Captain, Lauren Rowe manages to make an insta-love romance seem a heck of a lot like a slow burn. The relationship between Maddy and Keane feels so realistic and believable, yet it blooms in just a handful of days through chemistry and conversation.

I think one of the most impressive things about this book is how well developed Keane’s character is despite his somewhat flighty personality. I believe Maddy calls him, “Daffy Duck trapped inside Prince Charming’s body,” yet he is so much more than that.

I think Keane’s character could easily have been completely shallow given he’s both ridiculously goofy and good-looking, but instead of leaving his character at that, LR throws in a bit of unexpected depth.

I’ve known several people like Keane who are what I like to call extroverted introverts — those who can be extremely captivating and outgoing and social, yet need a lot of time to recuperate and recharge after social interactions. And often times those people end up dropping off the face of the earth for a little while before resurfacing again, just like Keane does. I love how that all ties into the initial miscommunication between Keane and Maddy – his tendency to ignore his phone because that’s his way of tapping out and recharging.

I also appreciated that the obliviousness for both Keane and Maddy when it came to their own attraction to one another was completely understandable. I found that I couldn’t wait for it to finally “click” for them!

And I absolutely cannot wait to devour The Club series!

I went into this story with some pretty high expectations. I was prepared to laugh and laugh and laugh until my belly hurt... and that's exactly what I got! Keane Morgan is ridonkulous!! His ways, his attitude, his wit, his charm, his looks, his everything made me giggle, snort and swoon.

Maddie is starting over in a new city. Moving in with her sister is going to help her accomplish all of her goals. She just has to survive the road trip with Keane to get there. As hilarious as Keane was, I loved how, for the most part, Maddie was able to keep up with his antics. They were able to click so fast (thanks to the author for that) and there was barely any wasted moments.

The romance was a slow build but I think it was better for it. The author did a wonderful job of developing the characters and their connection to each other. I do wish more time was spent on these two as a couple, but I can't always get what I want. There were times that the hilarity overshadowed what was being created, but I was so busy chuckling that all was forgiven.

Ball Peen Hammer is a hysterically funny romance featuring a beautiful, oblivious girl and a gorgeous, arrogant, class clown of a boy. He's hilarious, she's adorbsicles. He's not her type. She's not his. Or so they think. One shared road trip later... If you love to laugh really hard (and a lot) while falling in love with amazing characters - can I be an honorary member of the Morgan family? - this book... no this series... is for you!

GAH! Please excuse me a moment while I float away on a cloud of orgasmic, blissful feels and dance in what can only be described as bookworm heaven.

Each and every time Lauren releases a book, I get dragged into another world. One where I live ALONGSIDE the characters. Their feelings become my own. I devour EVERY SINGLE word and get lost to pure pleasure.

Never, in my life did I ever think I would say this. It wasn't on my radar and I totally didn't see it coming. I NEVER thought it possible. But, Keane Morgan has well and truly blown Joshua William Faraday off MY number one book boyfriend slot. *covers eyes.* I have well and truly fallen head over heels, irrevocably in love with Keane “Ball Peen Hammer” Morgan. Like I said, never saw it coming. And those that know me will know how much I LOVED Josh Faraday. Well I'm sorry.. It can't be helped… He's right there. Rocking my heart and soul, leaving me just utterly… AHHHH. What is it about him? I don't know. He just ALL I WANT in a book and in reality. He is the embodiment of MY PERFECT MAN. He's cocky, arrogant, brimming with confidence but so damn sweet, so damn sexy and just truly magical.

Ball Peen Hammer, is a full length standalone that from start to end infiltrates the heart, soul and mind. Blowing all expectations out the water. All day I have been in the world of Keane and Maddy. I was transported. Taken on an epic ride on the train of adventure, falling in love, laughing so much I cried and feeling SO MUCH that I don't have the adequate words that will EVER do this justice.

Keane Morgan is not my only love in this book. There are two people in this super sexy story. The amazing Maddy Milliken is just that, amazing. She's my spirit animal. She's me, I'm her. If I could ever embody a character in a book, it would be Maddy. Wrote to perfection, Maddy is the best possible woman to match with Keane. She's so real, relatable and easy to connect with.
The intense connection she has with Keane is OFF THE CHARTS. This book ain't no wham bam thank you mam. Nuh-uh brah. It's an electrifying, teasing, delicious build of a read that set off flutterings deep in my stomach, sizzled my very core and made my heart pound intensely. With each and every chapter, this story made me smile bigger. It made my heart sing and allowed me to escape reality.

Lauren Rowe, never ceases to amaze me. Her books take on a whole new meaning. She is literally a lyrical genius of epic proportions. No words can fully describe the awesomeness of Lauren and her books, because no word will ever be enough. I don't feel I can ever do this book justice. These reviews are always the hardest to write. When a book affects every living, breathing part of you it makes explaining it all, SO HARD. But at the same time I feel like I could talk about this book FOREVER.
The emotions are REAL. The love is REAL. The humour is REAL. I think you get the idea. All in all, it's THE BEST BOOK I'LL EVER READ. My TOP book of 2016. My top book PERIOD.

I don't want to say anymore. I can't say anymore apart from this book is LIFE. My LIFE. It will forever hold a special place in my heart. I'm in AWE. I'm so HAPPY, SATED in full bookworm bliss. No amount of stars will ever equate to what it's actually worth.

5 “I love you the most” stars.

The cover & the story are Deeeevviiiinne!
With Ball Peen Hammer..Lauren Rowe has allowed us another glimpse into her quirky and amazingly talented mindspace & woohee! it's a bloody fantastic view.
Once again...from the first page we are sucked into a vortex of pure sexiness...and the feelings just continue to ramp up throughout this story.
The banter between the characters is pure Lauren Rowe genius...the ribald humour & down to earth interaction makes this story flow with a real life interactive feel that will leave a smile plastered on your face when you finish.
Keane Morgan...you my man are one smooth, cocky but oh so lovable sexy creature.
And Maddy Milliken...what a feisty, witty & adorable balance for Peen.

Get ready to SIT and SUBMIT, baby dolls...

If you thought 'THE CLUB' was HOT...you have NO IDEA what you're in for! Lauren Rowe takes it to the NEXT LEVEL with her latest bad boy, Keane Morgan, a.k.a. BALL PEEN HAMMER baby!

I'm going to be honest and tell you that the dialogue in this book will make it or break it. I for one, was AMAZED like I liked it so much! Seriously, if you actually knew me, you would know that I absolutely HATE this type of dialogue in the real world, but for this book, it fucking worked! All, I can say is give it a chance, because it will blow your mind and turn you on like no other book has before. No joke! I'll give you a little taste...oh man, my auto-correct is about to be SHUT DOWN...

"Yeah, you called it, brah. She's definitely adorbsicles. A cutie patootie, I'd even say."

"A cutie patootie? Holy shit. That's next lev. She must be awfully cute."

"She is. Best girl ever. But just as a friend, you know. An adorbsicles, cutie-patootie friend." I pause. "But the thing is, Z..." I let out a long, tortured sigh. "I really, reeeeeeeally wanna fuck the living hell outta my adorbsicles, cutie-patootie friend."

No freaking lie! This is how, our boy, Keane Morgan talks to his best friend Z. It's ridiculous and yet it's freaking amazing. It's like their own freaking language.

The sexual tension between Keane and Maddy was out of control! They 'friend-zoned' each other right off the bat, but it isn't working for Keane. He is used to woman falling all over his yummy abs, but Maddy is like a little sister to him, so he can't fuck her...right? When the tension is sated and they finally get it on it will take you to the boiling point and beyond. Your eReader will be set on fire with all the delicious dirty talk that Keane spits out. I need another cold shower just thinking about it! With so many obstacles in their way, Keane and Maddy struggle for their happily ever after, but when Keane finally gets his head out of his ass, and 'mans up,' they both realize that what they could have...is something unique and special and theirs.

OH! I can't leave you without some SEXY Keane speak. You. Are. Welcome.

"I own your pussy," Keane whispers into my mouth, his breath hot against my ear in the chilly night. "It's mine and I'm commanding it to come for me right fucking now."

I'm not even lying, I attempted to do this whole review in 'Keane and Z talk' but I realized I'm not that talented, and I couldn't stop laughing enough to get it done. I'll leave the talent up to the amazing Lauren Rowe.

Book Description

"Keane Morgan wouldn’t return any of my calls or texts, and I was pissed as hell about it.

Hard."

Keane Morgan is loving his life the way HE wants to. After loosing out on his dream career his second thought was doing the next thing he was best at, using his body. Keane aka Ball Peen Hammer (his stripper name) is charming the ladies and making them want him but Peenie had one rule, he doesn't date paying customers. With his best friend (his wifey) by his side Keane's having tons of fun until he receives a few texts off a random number he doesn't recognise.

Maddy is moving to LA to be with her sister and attend UCLA, with her passion for documenting special moments and an over protective sister on her case Maddy ends up with a stranger (who just so happens to be the brother of the lead singer in the band she's doing a favour for) on her long drive to LA, little does she know he's about to change her life.

After an eventful text sesh that gets outta hand Maddy and Keane meet for this first time and soon click, they're interested in what one and another says and they can't help but laugh at each other, a friendship is instantly born but what happens when feelings get in the way? Keane is determined he doesn't want a relationship, so, when they grow feelings for each other will Keane be too stubborn and ruin everything or will he pull himself together for the girl he feels deeply for?

I just NEED to say I am so in LOVE with Keane and Zander's bromance oh my god. Those two together are pure comedy gold, LOVE THEM.

Keane and Maddy's relationship is interesting, their friendship in the beginning is adorable and I love their pet names they keep throwing at each other. I love that she doesn't instantly throw herself at him like the other women do, she sees him as a human and not a slab of meat.

This is my first read by Lauren Rowe and oh my god I'm so freaking glad I chose this one. It was perfect, funny and emotional. I need to read the other books pronto!

Ball Peen Hammer is standalone romantic comedy novel unlike anything you have ever read before!

NOTE:
Ball Peen Hammer is a full-length, standalone sexy romantic comedy about Keane Morgan (one of four Morgan brothers introduced in The Club Series) and Maddy Milliken (the little sister of Hannah Banana Montana Milliken).

Although Keane and Maddy’s love story is set in the universe of The Club Series, it is a standalone novel with no cliffhanger and no prior reading required. Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18..

Gah, I wrote a whole review, with GIFs and pics and all that and, guess what, I got an error and it got erased.

So yeah, I won't write all that again, just know that this book was damn funny, even though the characters and plot weren't all that great. Worth reading just for the "laugh your face off" part.

The little feminist angel on my right shoulder is currently stomping her foot and nursing a bruised eye because the little horny devil on my left won out in this fight.

I WANTED to be offended by this book. Really, honest, I wanted to. The things spewing from Keane’s mouth definitely had me raising an eyebrow but he was just SUCH a loveable idiot that I couldn’t be offended by any of it. Instead I opted for laughing out loud at his rants, snorting my way through his ‘wisdom’ on womankind and shaking my head at this frightening glimpse into the male psyche.

Be warned though, if you don’t enjoy witty dialogue and endless random conversations then this book may not be for you. This girl, however? I loved every second of it.

On a hotness scale between ‘a-Sunday-brunch-with-your-mom’ and ‘my-panties-fell-so-hard-they-are-halfway-to-china-by-now’ this one rated as ‘I-am-never-wearing-panties-again’. It was just THAT hot. And I’m not even talking about the actual sex scenes. I’m talking about all the sexual chemistry flying all over the place and the sexual tension that was so thick you could cut it with a dollar bill from a stripper’s jockstrap and snort it up until your nose bled!

But let’s get to the good stuff. The sex. Now there wasn’t a lot of it in this book but what there was definitely made an impact. It was slow and passionate and tentative at first but turned wild and erotic very quickly. For this book, I found the slow build up and tension leading up to the actual act to be so much more delicious. I hung on every single word in this book!

I cannot recommend reading this book enough. It hit all of the right spots. It was funny, sexy, sweet and it had just the right amount of angst. I started reading this book and I couldn’t put it down until I read the very last word. I adored both of these characters and even lost my heart to the secondary ones and I sincerely hope that each of them will get their own book. If you’re looking for a highly entertaining read that will suck you in right from the start – look no further than Ball Peen Hammer!

Ok, I went in with an open mind, knowing this dude was a little out there. Also I am so glad I thought that way or I never would have made it past the first few chapters.

The best way possible to describe Kean’s vocabulary is a Frat boy on roids…lmao. His izims…his own language…its adorbs. See what I did there.

Maddy is soo freaking sweet she will give you a toothache and she can totally hold her own. She isn’t all tongue tied because he is so stinking gorgeous.

Yes it’s a little immature, don’t over think the book or you won’t finish it. I just went along for the ride and enjoyed Zander and Keane’s banter, Keane and Maddy’s banter.

Over all it was good enough that I didn't want to stop it and wait till morning to finish or write this review…and its 3 am…so off to bed…with Peen in my head…I can only image what my dreams will hold.

Narration was awesome, because it went so well with who the characters were.

Easy 5 stars

I have been absolutely devouring this series over the past couple of days and I've been absolutely loving every second of it. I think Maddy is my favorite heroine so far in the series. I loved the juxtaposition between her quiet and innocent attitude with Keane's outgoing and promiscuous one. I thought they complimented each other so well which made it so fun to see their banter. This is a new favorite series of mine.

Oltretutto per Keane è off limits.

WOW!!! I finished this a couple of days ago, and I am STILL struggling with how to do this book justice with my review! I have to be honest and say that I didn't believe that ANY author could write a hero that would overtake MY Jonas Faraday (The Club series), but Keane didn't just steal my heart, he DESTROYED it for anyone else!!

When Keane's younger brother, Dax, offers him up as an escort/companion/'babysitter" for his friend and neighbor Hannah Banana Montana Milliken's sister Madelyn on her trip driving from Seattle to LA, he reluctantly agrees....and let me tell you, the hilarity that ensues on this trip had my stomach cramping and the tears rolling from laughter at the one-liners and banter between these two! To say nothing of the incredible sexual chemistry between them!

Madelyn Milliken is sweet, shy but sassy, a genius with social media and going to UCLA to pursue a degree in film (documentaries) and is still trying to get over a relationship that ends tragically when she meets Keane (Ball Peen Hammer)...the likes of which she has never met before in her life!!

As this incredibly funny, sexy story unfolds, you can't help but fall in love with BOTH of these characters! You can FEEL every emotion, the heat, the heart! Some of the funniest moments are those with Keane's "wifey" (bestie, roommate) Zander (the "dick-pick to a chick" was awesome!!!)

To sum it all up, this book made me laugh like a crazy person, fall in lust-then-love with Keane, had my emotions roller-coasting from here to L.A., shattered my heart for Madelyn (the Badasselyn) on numerous occasions, made me change panties too many times to count and in the end, melted my heart into a pile of mush!! If I could, I'd give this book a 10 Star "Yee-boy" rating!!!

OH MY DAMN!

I need Keane to go on a road trip with me, to Canada or just the supermarket!

No review that I write will encompass everything that is this book! I already loved Lauren! The Club? One of my all time favorite series! So I knew I was going to love whoever was between the pages. But what I didn't know was that I was going to fall head over heels in love with this book!

The connection between Keane and Maddy was off the charts and they way bantered back and forth was amazing! They are sexy, fun and real! I laugh-snorted and found myself shaking my head at some of the things that came out of Keane's mouth. I didn't even realize the impact of this book until I was talking to my hubby and started calling him babesicles.

Whatever you do, don't pass this book up, what you see on the cover isn't all that you get!

god knows where the 5 stars are coming from but i only have one, ONE thing to say:

this asshole excused sleeping around with married women with the next level logic of how women are emotional creatures who won’t step out of the “holy” bounds of marriage unless their needs and feelings have been ignored 😇🥹
so guess what ladies, from one “emotional” creature to another, it’s totally cool to cheat on your partners. After all, we’re all emotional idiots🫶🏼🫶🏼

basically the opposite version of the whole “men are sexual beings and can’t commit to one woman, physically” bullshit🙄🤢

and guess what THE ENTIRE BOOK WAS JUST A COMPILATION OF HIM SLEEPING AROUND AND TALKING ABOUT HIS PAST “CONQUESTS”
how any woman on the planet could find this shit attractive is beyond me😐😐

Egotistical Magic Mike wannabe who gets by on looks alone...

DNF 17%

No rating as I didn't finish this story.

Not for me. I don't have the patience to wait for this 23-year-old to grow the heck up. Too egotistical, shallow and he seemed completely insincere.

I did hear it gets better...hopefully with a good reason why this guy is such a douchewaffle.

I wonder if I could skip this one and move onto the other Morgan Brothers books? 🤔

Oh... Keane Morgan, I just adore him! I don't think I will ever get the phrase "All the live long day" out of my head... =). So far I have loved the Morgan Brother's Book Series, but I think this one may be my favorite to date. This is Maddy Milliken and Keane's story, and it's a Road Trip romance.

Maddy has some past baggage. She is moving to Los Angeles to live with her sister, Hannah, and her sister doesn't want her making the long drive alone. Maddy's boyfriend is the hacker from the last book that helped out Ryan Morgan to track down his girl. Youngest brother Dax Morgan lives right by Hannah, and he has an open parking spot to give to Maddy. Keane is the cocky, happy-go-lucky, full of himself, male stripper. He's probably the type of guy I would honestly hate in real life, but he is so darn funny to read about and listen too. I absolutely love his friendship with Zander and just LOL the entire time they are together. Maddy and Keane initially kind of hate each other. He doesn't answer any of her texts, and they start off on the wrong foot. He's going to travel with her to LA to do an audition. Their friendship that blossoms from that is so adorable. The banter and conversations in this book are gold. I knew I liked Lauren Rowe, but now she is becoming a favorite author. She is so so good at narrating her books. I can't wait to read the next one - I love this family!

This one was sooo much fun to read. Hysterical and witty. I enjoyed every minute of it. The characters were great and the banter was off the charts good. This is the first book I've read of this author but I loved her writing style so much that as soon as I'm done writing this review I'm going to get some of her other books. Definitely hope she maybe turns this into a series about all the brothers cause I would snatch those up so fast. Highly recommend this one if you're looking for a romantic comedy, Keane and Maddy will steal your heart I guarantee it.

2 “Absurd but laughable” Stars

“Life is rarely about what you think--it's almost always about what you feel.”

I picked this book because I needed a good laugh, I heard this was one of the funniest romance books ever, and with that title what can I say, I gave in. And indeed I laughed like a crazy woman sometimes, the bummer part is that I was laughing at the sexy or serious things. Yes, indeed the humor of this book was extremely exaggerated for my taste and Keane kept my eyes rolled yeah not because of orgasmic reactions. But I did end up laughing so at least 2 stars.

description

The synopsis had me intrigued, talk about a male stripper falling in love, sign me up. I was curious I thought we were gonna get a different look at a person with this profession, but no, indeed the guy was a douchey and arrogant as I dreaded.

Our main guy was very dumb, very shallow, very manwhore, very douchey, very idiotic. He kept through sexist comments but then somehow tried to explained how he wasn’t. I was so tired of him referring to women as pickles from a jar and how he could pleasure every woman in existence. I actually need to say this book doesn’t believe in asexuality upfront, so yeah trigger warning for that. We got a bit of a glimpse of why he was the way he was, but we never got into deep emotional stuff with his character, so honest to god he was like that, no explanation whatsoever. Oh, he also has a fixation with tits, for fuck's sake I think I read 3 pages worth of comment of our main girl's tits, like get over it, she has tits. I did enjoy the moment he started falling in love, it was fun and a bit cute to watch so yay for that. I will give him that overall he treated our heroine good and he cared about her.

Our main girl was nerdy, sassy, insecure, cool, but also a bit exasperating. Like she was doing great standing up for the sexist comment out the guy was throwing at her until she just started accepting it, and I was like well great, next. Again she had a bit of a tragic past, but we never touched on it too deeply. I get it the books were supposed to be light. I did enjoy her voice way more than our main guy, and I somehow enjoyed the rejection play going on. But honestly, this book was made to give a spotlight to the guy.

The relationship was fine, I mean it wasn't ground shaking. It was very relaxed and not important, to be honest. I wasn’t super invested. It went from friends-friendswithbenefits-love.It also happens in like 3 weeks the whole book. And is a 300+ fucker of a book.

Various things that annoyed me were:

Texting pages: You would imagine the author would make it easier for the reader to reads texts, perhaps with different font and spacing. YOU DON’T GET THAT HERE. iT WAS CHUNKS OF PARAGRAPHS IN TEXTING STYLE. My eyes hurt. And like not good typing either it was the colz bruh whatcha doin tn. I was ready to burn this parts.

Sex: Unrealistic, the guy was aka god of sex or something. He was just that perfect, new all women's secrets, and could make our ain girl orgasm like 7 times just in roleplay. *MAJOR EYE ROLL*

Stripper parts: Oh this was the laugh out loud part. It was supposed to be sexy and turn on, but I was cleaning tears from laughter all the while. I believe the author describe it was undulating like an upright worm. oh yes baby hit me with the undulating worm moves? The fuck.

The jokes: Like get over yourself a bit, literally everything was about how all the women threw themselves at our main guy.

Nicknames: If you guys are lucking for dumb names to call people this is your book, from Mad Dog to Sweetcheeks, Babydoll, piece of meat, etc.

This definitely not a book I would recommend without knowing the person inside out. Maybe is someone humor out there, but it may come as offensive too.

I will continue with this series, because I am dying for book 3, and I am indeed intrigued to see if all morgan brothers are as douchey as Kaen or was it Kean? IDGAF.

Ok where to start… Firstly I have been sat in front of my laptop for hours wondering how on earth I even start this review. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to be so tongue tied over a book that his literally tipped my world on its axis.

Lauren Rowe for me is one of those authors that truly is the next level. The Club series literally set my soul on fire & truth be told I wasn’t sure how any book following the final in that series, would pull me in. Well I needn’t have worried because Ball Peen Hammer literally blew all my expectations out of the park in the most EPIC way imaginable.

Seriously BPH is just so freakin real on every level. From the first page I knew I was a gonner, I don’t think any woman in the entire universe can resist the enigma that is Keane Morgan. Pair him with Maddy Mad Dog Milliken & this is one road trip I never wanted to end, like literally. I wished so hard that they would just keep on going – hit up another destination & just drive, allowing me to spend even longer lost in their world, sharing their giggles & experiencing more perfect ‘quiet moments of magic’….

Soooo what is it about Keane that stole my heart?. Whelp Keane the Peen Morgan is without doubt the sexiest, cockiest, smoothest, funniest muther chucker I have EVER met & I absolutely adore him. Like insta fangirl. He is an utter mamma’s boy, surrounded by love, respect & loyalty that only the Morgan family values can achieve. Life has led him to stripping (wipes brow & breathes) - girls, hold onto your panties because all things holy, he is gonna leave you panting like some horny housewife. This man is HOT, sizzling HOT… Andddd he knows it lol. He has the confidence & the lines to literally charm the lace knickers off any female with a pulse. But even with his mammoth ego he remains so innocently sweet, beyond cute with those damned killer dimples & exquisitely funny, even when he doesn’t mean to be. For me, the ultimate pull this man has is his lack of filter. He opens his mouth & the world is a funnier, brighter, happier place. My cheeks ached, my ribs hurt, I snickered, I snorted, I dribbled my soda & the ultimate sin - I was sent to the bathroom for some time out at 1am this morning. Allegedly I was unable to control my giggles, even with my fist in my mouth. #sorrynotsorry I couldn’t bring myself to leave Keane & his word porn haha.

Soooo can this book get any better I hear you ask??? Because let’s be frank, this man in his own right is enough for anyone to pull an all-nighter – but the simple answer is yes. Because Maddy Milliken will make you pee your pants, air punch for all the sassy women around the world & make your heart ache, burst then ache again. This girl is like sunshine. Beautiful, funny, super smart & ambitious, yet she lacks confidence around people, is dorky shy & doesn’t believe she is anyone’s type (least of all Peen’s). Her innocence at times is hilarious & this book wouldn’t be the EPIC story of love without her. Her sassy mouth is one to rival Keane, even when she is in over her head it just makes her even more adorable. She lets the real Maddy Mad Dog Milliken run free & it’s a sight to behold. Their chemistry is out of this world, each pulling the very best from the other. Sparks fly, sexual tension hangs thick, desires run deep. Hell you can’t blame Keane the Peen for wanting this particular pickle.

Only Lauren could turn a road trip into the best book I have ever read. So many books struggle to provide the words that allow an emotional connection between you as a reader & the characters that tell the story at a base level. Lauren – well she simply has the power to deliver it all. She brings to life their goodness, their personalities, the traits that make them beautifully unique. This book literally owned my @ss, The connection was instant & Keane & Maddy will be my BFF’s always. So you see, Lauren truly is a divine original. With her insane sense of humour, she really is my word porn queen & I owe her a great gratitude for writing THIS BOOK.

BPH is a standalone, but seriously peeps, don’t miss out on reading The Club Series first if you can. The characters in there are awesome & you will get to meet Kat (Keane’s sister), read more about the Morgan Family ( yup, all dem hottie mctottie brothers) as well as a whole load of other awesome people I know you will love. It will set you up perfect for this book & trust me when I say you will be left begging for more.

For me – I am already in the biggest book funk of my life. I have never ever NOT wanted a book to end so much. I miss Keane the Peen already. It’s a happy sad place for sure when you can truly say you have read THE BOOK OF ALL BOOKS that was destined for you. 5 stars just won’t do this bad boy justice. So download & enjoy!!!

Peace out

Ball Peen Hammer by Lauren Rowe
4.5 stars!!!

Still livin’ the dream, dolin’ out fantasies to the horny ladies one lap dance at a time.”

Ever since I discovered Lauren Rowe with her fantastic series “The Club” I have been an addict. From the first read and every read thereafter I have gelled with her writing and though for some it is over the top, for me, it ticks my boxes. I love the cute romance, her sense of humour albeit in the gutter at times always has me laughing and in stitches and in this book her wit and comedic genius rules in spades. Yes, it can be a little childish, yes the dialogue is hilarious but our Peenie is a little bit like Peter Pan, he is the boy that never grew up, but in Ball Peen Hammer he comes a long, long way.

“He’s Daffy Duck trapped inside Prince Charming’s body. Quite an entertaining combination, I must admit. He’s like watching my own private reality TV show.”

Keane “Ball Peen Hammer” Morgan is a male stripper, definitely think Magic Mike. He is the epitome of beautiful and stunningly handsome and he knows it. Yes, he is a tad immature, he is cocky, a touch arrogant but this man has a huge heart and a heart of gold. He is naturally hilarious, couldn’t be serious if he tried, lives life to the max but when he loves, he loves hard and it has never happened before, but then, he had never met Maddy Milliken.

“…I’ll never hate you as long as I live.”

Maddy Milliken is my kind of woman; she was totally “adorbsicles” as our Peenie lovingly names her. While quiet and unassuming on first appearances, when this girl gets her confidence mojo she can battle with the best of them. She is quick smart, her sense of humour is fabulous and she takes no crap, especially from Keane. While these two didn’t hit it off straight away, once these two embark on their road trip, all bets are off. Maddy was a budding film maker and documentaries were her speciality. Embarking on a new adventure to film school a road trip is in order and her over protective sister makes her take a chaperone…our Keanie Peenie!

“My middle name is “Put Your Fucking Shirt On, Keane Elijah Fucking Morgan,”” I say. Keane laughs uproariously.
“God, you’re adorbsicles, Maddy, just like Zander said you’d be.”
“And you’re annoy-sicles.”

These two just made one and other, so well suited, their banter was infectious and they put each other at ease. They believed in each other, they fed off each other and their chemistry, platonic and sexual was off the charts. Lauren Rowe really delivered on the character connection and you just could not help but fall in love with these two and champion them along. While Keane at first glances is not lacking in anything he needs his time outs where he just shuts himself off from the rest of the world, it is this that really shows us his vulnerable side and for all his bravado and charisma it was great to get this glimpse of him. It showed the reader that he was in fact real and was in fact a little intimidated of the route that his job had taken him.

“You’ve unleashed me, baby. I’m brand new.”

I laughed hard and I laughed long with this one. My heart was just bursting with love for these two. I’m sure that Lauren Rowe must have been a dude in a past life because Keane was too real, his vocabulary consisted of fun, filth or “Nietzsche,” and his friendship with his best mate, Zander would have anyone in hysterics. These two together made many a laugh out loud moment…think the tune of Old McDonald…some weed… “Dick-pic to a chick-chick, everywhere a dick-pic. Here a dick, there a pic, everywhere a dick-pic…E-I-E-I-O.” You had to be there… but it was the little things that made you laugh so hard yet underneath was a beautiful love story for two people that were complete opposites yet were the yin to the yang, the tea to the biscuits, the ice cream to shark week… they just went.

“Okay, confession? I don’t actually know who Nietzsche is. All I know is he’s the guy I’m supposed to name-drop whenever I wanna sound super smart.”

So, if you want a good laugh, I can highly recommend this, it’s an easy read, a comforting read, a turn that frown upside down read. Keanie Peanie is too infectious and Maddy Miliken, as I said is just “adorbsicles.” Another hit for Lauren Rowe.

“And that right there is why I love you the most.”

I received an arc for an honest review.

Ball Peen Hammer….. it literally took me so long to write this review because my mind was blown. First off, I couldn’t read it fast enough. And I read it ALL in one sitting. Like couldn’t put it down, ignored the FedEx guy, silenced my phone, and growled at anyone who dared to interrupt me. Keane and Maddy had me laughing out loud, yelling at the both of them, and fist pumping so hard I sent my kindle flying.

I loved Lauren’s Club Series, so much that I display those beauties in my office. I wasn’t sure anything could top those in terms of sexy, dirty, funny amazing words, but she did it. And she did it in such a way that a book hangover is the least of your worries. Good luck with sleep, and who the hell needs to work or to talk with people. They just won’t get the emotions.

Lauren Rowe, I love you, I love your mind, and I hate you because I need more of your books. So hurry up and write me more so I can drool over them!
