David

My life ended the night my father won a place in the US Congress. Not because he won the election, but because he died when I lost control of the car he, my mother, and I were riding in.

My parents both died and I was left paralyzed from the upper thighs down. There’s an operation that could fix my legs, but maybe I don’t deserve a second chance. After all, my parents didn’t get one.

But then a woman walks into my life…it’s always a woman, right?

She was once a notorious hacker, now a ruthless CEO of one of the hottest social media corporations in the world. We’re both broken, but maybe together we can find a way to fix what no longer works.

Ricki

David is everything I’ve always wanted in a man—smart, affectionate, gorgeous…

I want to trust him with my deepest, darkest secrets, but I’m not sure than I can. After all, our paths have crossed before…years ago. He just doesn't know it yet.

And it was that intersection of his world and mine that started the downward spiral of the person who meant the most to me...

Note: DAVID is the second book in the Gray Wolf Security series. You can read it on it's own, but it is highly recommended that you read DONOVAN too :)

This series was offered as a 5 book bundle and a kindleunlimited, so I decided, why not. I was originally going to write separate reviews for each book, but I've decided not to, and here's why: Every single book in this bundle felt almost identical. They had the same exact formula. All the characters felt the same, they reacted to situations the same etc. Very generic overall. I'd rate most of the books in this series a 2.5 star with the exception of Kirkland. I'm going to rate that book a 1.5 star because the hero was such a manwhore. In other books in the series he was constantly parading around women and screwing them, at times not even knowing their name. Ummm no thanks. By the time I even got to his book I had little interest in his character, but I did complete the book, and still did not feel as if he redeemed himself. I doubt I will read anymore of this writers work. It just felt overly predictable and generic. Cardboard characters and plot. I am glad it was offered on kindleunlimited though.

I was excited to read David's story from the first book; his was such a tragic tale that I wanted an HEA for him. Overall, I enjoyed his story- there are just a few things I didn't get or didn't like.

I was left a little confused by this book though. The original threat that they were facing wasn't a treat at all... until all of a sudden it was? The twist at the end with seemed to come out of left field and it felt forced, like it happened solely to create conflict that was otherwise non-present during the rest of the story. I wish we'd gotten a little more action of the two of them working on code simultaneously or creating something together- there was one instance, but the story could have done with a little more.

I didn't care much for Ricki either way, although there were some points where I kind of hated her. I thought it was very, very sneaky what Ricki was doing with her stock/the company and I approve! I absolutely hated when she freaked out about . She said: "You didn't even ask me if this was something I wanted. It never crossed your mind that I might not want you to . Well, guess what... IT WASN'T YOUR DECISION, IT'S HIS!! How dare she begrudge him something that is going to make his life infinitely easier. This really pissed me off- it's exactly what his ex-fiancee did to him, and frankly if I was David, I would've left her.

The thing about Ricki aside, I still enjoyed to book. Looking forward to Joss's next- she's so mysterious, I want to know more about her!!!

This book was recommended by a friend and it was a nice read; I usually don’t like insta-sex in romantic fiction, but it was so well handled – the characters were so honest about it – that I enjoyed it. I also liked the dual first person narrative(another thing that usually annoys me) and the characters; the writing style was ok for me.

I really enjoyed this book, more than the first one. It was fascinating to watch how David dealt with his guilt and his disability. I loved how caring his brother and the others were. I was curious to find out who was sabotaging Ricki, I was surprised. I am looking forward to reading Joss's story.

The second book in the Gray Wolf Security Series follows David and Ricki.

Gray Wolf is hired by Ricki to investigate a breach in her computer system. Donovan and David are assigned to go to her because she does not want the investigation done remotely. David who we learned in book one of the series

Ricki has become very successful in her business ventures, but has a terrible past. She has a cold demeanor, but it hides a broken woman.

This story takes us thru the discovery of the situation that's happening at Ricki's company and how David and Ricki's lives have intercrossed in the past.

The relationship between these two broken people is sweet and sexy steamy. They both have secrets and these are delved into as the story progresses. The past is explored, and new enemies emerge. A big decision made could break them.

I enjoyed this book. There was a part that annoyed me and found extremely selfish. . Because of her past fears I could kind of understand the way she felt, but no, it still bothered me. I did like to read that even after the decision she made, she was being supportive in a way.

Sweet HEA

We also got to check in with Donovan and Kate-So Sweet

Intense

Another great book in this series. Love how you get caught up in each character and feel for them. Cannot wait to read the next one.

David is making himself suffer through being paralyzed from thighs down because of the guilt he feels from the accident that took his parents lives. Someone from the past comes back into his life and makes him get out of the compound to work on a case, but do either of them realize they actually know one another?

Ricki had a terrible life in her teen years suffering at the hands of her stepfather. She was teased and bullied, and became a recluse of her own. Once she met Belle at MiT, they became roommates and then fast friends working in their world of hacking. She starts her own company, but someone I hacking into it and she hires grey wolf securities to help find their problem. Another one of those "I didn't see that coming" endings.

These are two very different people, but they're both broken in their own ways. Seeing how they react to one another is funny, sad, and romantic all at once. Seeing how David comes out of his shell more and more is amazing, but watching him react to how Ricki treats him like there's nothing wrong is comical. David could have this surgery to be able to walk again, but lacks the motivation to have it. But the problem isn't whether he should have it for himself, but whether it's what will actually cause Ricki to leave him for good.

David

With five novels in one causing a wide range of storylines. Opening to the reader, you have to give it a worthy read. Some of the additional storytelling had a tendency to have pages of repeated thoughts. Causing you the reader to think . . . Didn't I just read those sentences or had the author just repeated herself. The main novel David had a storyline that kept me interested.

Wonderful story. Even better than book 1, Donovan. But this series, even though these books can be read separately, should be read all together. Two broken people coming together was beautiful. I'm very happy on how these two handled things. KUDOS to you both!! Her with finding some answers of a former BFF. Him with fighting his fears of the unknown even though he was happy with the way things were. I do believe LOVE conquers all.

Read via Gray Wolf Security box set.

An intense, emotional roller-coaster of a story. This was a intriguing book with it's unique plot, great characters, secrets and lies, betrayal, and suspenseful twists that's a real page turner. I liked how the main characters were both able to overcome their fears and guilt to get their HEA and live how they were meant to be. It was a great story and addition to this fantastic series.
I definitely recommend this book and series.

Good book

Another good book in the Gray Wolf series. Davids story is a good romance with a positive ending he starts off in a wheelchair and laden with guilt after an accident in which his parents died. Then he meets Riccy who changes his life. There are five extra bonus books all of which are good romance stories.

I didn't enjoy this as much as book 1, and I think it's because I just couldn't really connect with Ricki. I was excited to read David's story, but it just didn't grab me the way I was hoping. I also wasn't crazy about the last fourth or so of the book.

David!

I really loved David's story. He understood everyone else situation but his own. When he finally told the whole story, he finally realized it wasn't his fault. I really loved the proposal.

Author did it to me again. She combined two books from two different series into a single book. I liked "David" very much but didn't care for the "Billionaire" book at all. Therefore the lower overall rating. Too bad!

Even though I already knew a lot about David (because I read the GWS 2 series books before reading these), I really enjoyed getting to know him a little more. I loved seeing him overcome his fears and opening up to love. Same with Ricki.
