Young witch Tiga Whicabim is just starting to settle into glitzy Ritzy City when Fran the Fabulous Fairy discovers that Tiga's best friend Peggy has gone missing--leaving behind only a note explaining that she's “AWAY WITH THE FAIRIES” and evil Felicity Bat is now in charge. Soon after, other witches across town start to disappear.
Tiga and her friends set out to investigate and stumble upon an old, unsolved mystery that might just be the reason behind the disappearances. Can the girls use their witchy skills to save their friend and the city in time?
This companion to Witch Wars is a witch story like no other, filled with silly spells, delectable dresses, and ridiculous riddles, as well as hilarious black-and-white illustrations.

I had forgotten how cute these books are! And the focus on elaborate fashion and fun witch life (going for delicious cakes or frothy drinks with friends, etc.) is so charming!
I do not care that I am not the target audience for this series, I just love them! The whimsy gothic vibes it exudes captures my witchy-fairy heart! The characters are fantastic, Fran in particular is hilarious!
The glitz, the glamour, the magic, and the craziness are all rolled up in one to create this mad-cap romp!
This follow-up to Witch Wars (one of my favourite MGs of this spring) is just as bats (and cats, and jam) as its predecessor. It's glam, it's hilarious and it's totally weird. Laura's illustrations are the perfect accompaniment to Sibeal's text - all in all, this is a total winner.
The first book I found funny but also thought it was trying too hard? This one has properly settled into its humour and is much richer for that. We have friendship! Nemesises! Sisters! Historical Fashion Explorers! Shoeland Fashions! Really maturing into an excellent funny middle grade series.
The world building in this book was great. The pipe city was so unique and creative, and the history and culture of the place was woven in well. It didn't feel like a boring overload of expository information. The plot of the book was a bit squirrely. The big conflict wasn't very well developed, and solutions to problems were very strange and not always thoughtful. The characters sort of haphazardly bumbled through story events in a way that didn't always feel cohesive. There needed to be more connection between events, and maybe less of them so the story didn't feel so random. The set up for the story is great. Good characters and a great world, there just needs to be a bit more thought with plotting.
love reading books fr0m my childhood! this was like my 20th reread of this book and series. i loveee Fran and the storyline of Peggy turning into a doll! felicity bat and aggie hoof are a really iconic duo and i love their dynamic. its giving good luck babe! what i didn't like was MS flints shop being destroyed and the sometime awkward and cringey dialogue. i thoroughly enjoy this series and would truly recommend it to someone.
I enjoyed the first book, but this one maybe not quite so much. The story got a little too bogged down in other stuff and the evil Felicity Bat seemed to be got rid of far too easily. I thought the whole doll story good although it was a tad complicated at times. Still, it was an enjoyable book with fun characters.
Really enjoying this series right now. The first book I called adorable. This one is a well earned cute. I felt there weren't as many illustrations in this one and for me the pictures are a major highlight.
A fantastic follow up to the first book. Clever magical witchy ideas that make you want to read the next book. Loved the doll mystery, that makes you wonder about dolls with eyes that open. Can’t wait for the next adventure.
This one gave more magic and much more of my favorite characters. We also learned a lot about the history of everyone in town and the witches that left. It was very fun!
