Confessions of a Bad Boy Episode 1: Never Commit

I’m the internet's favorite Bad Boy - the guy who’ll tell it to you straight. No bullshit charm. No excuses. Consider it a public service, letting women know the truth about what guys are really thinking and teaching guys how to get what they want.

Yes, we were checking that girl out.

No, you don't want to meet her parents.

And no, ladies, we don’t care what shoes you wear - as long as they’re up around our neck by the end of the night.

Life was simple, until fate brought me back together with Jessie.

My best friend's younger sister, who I just happened to have the hottest one night stand of my life with four years ago.

Who calls me at 3 AM to get bailed out of jail.

Who I can’t keep my hands off of.

And who can never find out who I really am.

She’s off-limits, but I don't care. And when I need a fake girlfriend to help me out of a jam at work, she’s the only one who can help. Now I’m stuck sharing a hotel room with her for the weekend.

A long, sexy weekend.

This is your Bad Boy, signing off.

Confession of a Dirty Girl: I just fell so hard for Bad Boy Nate and Jessie!! A perfect couple that has just taken residence in my heart!!! Which is already full of so much love for this book!! I just spent the last 3 hours (it's 2:30am) with Bad Boy Nate and the ever charming and feisty Jessie, and I didn't want it to end! You ever fall in love with characters, couples...and you just want their story to continue on forever and ever?? Well, yeah. That is how I'm left feeling. No cliffy. Just one of the happiest of happily ever afters that made my goosebumps have goosebumps!!! Is that spoilery?! Oh dear! I hope not!!
Our Bad Boy Nate is a player. A womanizer. That's putting it mildly. Hooking up with girls is like a sport to him. A game. One that he is extremely great at. But he's also an amazing man. He's sweet, thoughtful, protective, and completely loyal. And then we have his best friend Kyle and his younger sister Jessie. They are a trio. Since childhood. So what happens when little sister hooks up with a very overbearing and protective brother's best friend??? I think you can see where I'm going with this!
What I loved about Jessie and Nate was their carefree relationship. No strings. Just sex. And holy hell. It's off the charts hot!! These two REALLY know how to....connect. In every way possible lol!! I don't want to give away any of the story. So just trust me when I say read it!!
I know I sound like a broken record everytime I finish reading a book by JD Hawkins and I say "this is his BEST book yet!!" Well, I'm going to say it again. THIS IS HIS BEST BOOK YET!!! Which only shows strength in writing. And creating these new stories for us. I love watching authors grow. And I can't wait to see what JD gives us next!! I'd also like to add a little disclaimer. People know that JD is a friend. And I don't want this to EVER overshadow or create doubt when I review one of his books, because if I didn't like it, I simply wouldn't waste my time in writing a review for it. So know that when I review a book that I absolutely love, it comes from the heart. And everything else is pushed aside. They aren't friends. They are authors. And as a reviewer it is my "job" to showcase the books that I love. With that being said, GO AND 1-CLICK THE HELL OUT OF THIS NOW!!

And Hawkins is back!!! I absolutely loved Nate and Jessie's story. I loved the taboo element of Jessie being the little sister of Nate's best friend. Sometimes you just can't help who you have chemistry with!

Nate was your typical single guy, living the dream, but not really. He kind of reminded me of another character Hawkins has written about, Jax anyone?

Jessie was one of my favorite heroines until the end of the story. She started out strong, stubborn, and clever, not falling for Nate's BS and asserting herself. I loved that about her. Towards the end of the story her character almost seemed to change a little bit and I was disappointed, but you can decide for yourself, I don't want to spoil the story.

Obviously the best character in the whole story is the imaginary one-night stand, Sarah with the red hair...just saying.

Hawkins is one of my favorite authors and he rarely disappoints. I also really enjoyed that he wrote a full length novel this time instead of splitting the story up. Yay for no more cliffhangers! I can't wait to read more work from him and I highly recommend one-clicking!

“Being a bad boy never felt so good.”

I must be honest here, what determined me to try this book was the title. The title was very catchy, at least to me and I was eager to find out more about this bad boy and his confessions. 'Confessions of a Bad Boy' was my second book by this author and certainly won’t be my last if his upcoming books will be as entertaining as this one. Because let me tell you, it really was. A great blend of humor, sexiness and sweetness, this little gem was enjoyable from first page to last. It made me feel good, it made me smile and it made me root for these characters’ happiness from the first moment they were introduced.

“What’s wrong with being a bad boy?”
“Bad things tend to be the most fun, the most interesting. Food, booze, men.”

'Confessions of a Bad Boy' tells the story of Nate, who is a Hollywood agent. He’s also a bad boy who knows how to be successful as a vlogger. Well…an anonymous vlogger since he’s hiding his true identity. So…his topics? His sexcapades and everything that makes him a bad boy. What you have to know about Nate - he loves women, he hates commitment, he loves one-night-stands and last but not least his idea of getting to know someone is probably different than yours.

description

Our heroine, Jessie is a costume artist and Nate’s best friend sister. They know each other since forever and unfortunately for Jessie who had a crush on Nate forever they were always nothing more than friends. He always was so blunt with her about his commitment phobia, so she knows very well he’s not the man for her.

Years ago Nate made a big mistake. He slept with Jessie. He knew it was wrong since they grew up together and because of his best friend, but at the moment he didn’t care about anything. When Nate bails Jessie and soon after when they spend a weekend together since he needs a fake date to impress his boss, he realizes that he’s attracted with his best friend’s sister more than he wants to admit.

“Every voice inside of me telling me that this is wrong, that this is a bad idea, that I shouldn’t let my instincts take over, it all becomes a distant echo in the presence of those lips.”

description

I love when a book has just a little bit of everything. And this one definitely has. 'Confessions of a Bad Boy' was easy to read, highly entertaining with just a little bit of angst and drama. The entire story is told from our hero’s POV which I really loved. Nate’s voice was first and foremost honest. I just loved his honestly. The man doesn’t have time for bullsh*t, so he will tell you from the start what he wants and where he wants you. *Ahem!!*

What I liked about him was the fact that even if he’s a manwhore, he’s not an a$$hole. That was refreshing. Nate was a very endearing character. He’s sexy, charming, funny and I’m sure he will win you over from the very beginning. I liked the fact his background was so well developed and I can totally say I understood why he is a commitment phobe. Jessie was a lovely heroine. She’s independent, hard-working, she speaks her mind and later as the story unfolded I liked how thoughtful and considerate he was with Nate, but I would have loved her character to be a little more developed.

“This isn’t two people realizing how wrong something is and getting turned on by it, this is something that feels right.”

The chemistry between these two was off the charts and all the sexy scenes between them were hot as hell. I loved them together in and out of bed and I think there were pretty great for each other.
What didn’t work for me was . IMO was a little OTT. Personally I would have preferred the story to be JUST sexy and fun without this unnecessary aspect.

Overall, a good, enjoyable read!

While the dirty girl in me enjoyed this story, I couldn't quite believe our reformed manwhore's change of heart. Too little, too late. Nate and Jessie tore up the sheets like they were the maid and it was absolutely delish. Outside of the bedroom, Nate has a secret identity and an aversion to commitment. Jessie was awesome with her sassy confidence. I liked their easy friendship and great chemistry. The prologue in the beginning confused me. After reading the blurb, I thought it was our heroine. Well... It wasn't. It was our hero with a OW and it felt totally unnecessary to the story. :-/ Overall, I enjoyed this sexy nugget, but ask me to believe the hero's turnaround in the end? I'll tell you the man was between a rock and a hard place. The fact that his little revelation didn't come before her revelation sealed it for me. I'm not convinced his change of heart was genuine. Either way, a fun and sexy tale. Safety: No others after they get together. No rape or abuse.

Overall Opinion: This was ok. I was a disappointed with the events that lead up to the ending and the ending itself (see closure section). Other than that, it was a pretty easy and predictable love story about a manwhore reformed.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Jessie and Nate's story. They have been childhood friends along with Jessie's older brother, Kyle. Nate is the mysterious (and anonymous) "bad boy" vlogger that makes online videos about basically being a manwhore for his millions of viewers. In the first chapter, he describes his "hottest one night stand" he's ever had on his vlog that happens to have been with Jessie years prior to the story. Their story then starts up again when Jessie calls Nate one afternoon to bail her out of jail. As payback, Nate gets Jessie to go away on a work weekend and pose as his fake long-time girlfriend for his old fashioned boss. That's when things heat up. Even though they started out thinking it would end at the end of the weekend getaway, things are hard to let go of when they return home and they eventually fall in love. There is some family drama, some sexy times, a few funny moments, and some more family and personal drama...but they get a HFN ending.

POV: This alternated between Jessie and Nate's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good until the end (see closure section). I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well otherwise.

Instalove: No, they have been friends since childhood.

H rating: 2 stars. Nate. I liked him until he messed up. I get that he made some big changes to win her back, and that he realized that he loved the h -- but it was little too late to win me over.

h rating: 3.5 stars. Jessie. I liked her sassy attitude and how she embraced her sexiness.

Sadness level: Low. No tissues needed.

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Moderate. They have some good scenes with some good chemistry, but it wasn't so much that it took away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes.

Safe sex: Yes. Mentions of condom use, but no mention of previous practices.

OW/OM drama: No, surprisingly!

Sex scene with OW or OM: Yes

Cheating: No

Separation: Yes

Possible Triggers: Mild

Closure: This had ok closure, but I still wanted more! I would call it a HFN ending. This book did the thing where the big conflict of the couple is resolved at the end of the last chapter, and then we get the epilogue -- I hate that!!

How I got it: It was part of my kindle unlimited subscription.

Safety: Safe with exceptions

Our bad boy hero, Nate, is all about one night stands, no commitment and his vlog, also known as a video blog! He flaunts his abs and his sexcapades to his online fans whilst hiding his real identity from them. The heroine is makeup artist and the kid sister of Nate's long time best friend, a girl who's had a crush on him forever, a girl who he shares a one night stand with and has no idea about his alter ego. This of course leads to beautiful light angst inducing conflict during the climax of the story which I loved it!

There are a couple of aspects that perplexed me slightly, things that are perhaps a little difficult to believe within the constraints of reality and, in my mind, not everything is conclusively addressed, including the fact that certain people do not discover his alter ego. I also found I had a slight issue with the time transition during the early chapters, and in hindsight I believe simply reading the blurb would have solved this for me, so I'd recommend checking that out prior to starting. Ultimately my little gripes mattered to me not. They're aspects that are simply part of the fictional tale that I smiled my way through. The writing of this author feels like a beautiful summer’s day in the land of romance. It made me feel lighthearted, relaxed and warm as I basked in the pages of the relationship of Nate & Jessie.

JD Hawkins is adept at delivering charismatic heroes and Nate is no exception with his sexy charm, bad boy persona and caring nature. As a reader I enjoyed seeing his character develop, changing his attitude to love, life and Jessie. Readers will no doubt feel the path the story will take but this does not take away from the satisfaction a romantic heart will feel about the outcome of his confessions. The carefully crafted story arc told in the first person narrative and from the alternating perspective of the hero and heroine is enhanced with a prose that evokes beautiful feeling and SEXY pictures along with a dynamic chemistry that sizzles between the hero and heroine.

CONFESSIONS OF A BAD BOY is a romantic, sizzling HOT friends to lovers STANDALONE story with a dash of light angst, an infamous bad boy and a genuinely lovely heroine. It's a sexy lighthearted, fun read that warmed my heart and made me smile throughout. A must read for all BAD BOY ROMANCE lovers!

STOP. Stop right there! Stop what you were doing and add this book on your TBR. You'll thank me later.

It's not secret I follow J.D. Hawkins since he released his first book. And it's no secret I was waiting for a full length novel book! Now that I got it I want to shout from the rooftop how fucking amazing it is!

description

Confessions of a Bad Boy was really the perfect read I needed! Funny, sexy, sweet, hot.... all of it in one package! I was smiling, laughing like a goofy nearly the entire time! The plot and the story might be something you've already seen in books but there's a touch of freshness to JD writing style that I love. First he's a guy and when guys write, it's always different. I love the easy going style, the "I don't care if you're not ok with what I say" style! It's purely male and you feel it all through your read. J.D. can definitely make the most of his talent to give us a friendly, no bullshit atmosphere in his book.

“My idea of getting to know someone is probably a little different than yours.”

description

In this one, you have Nate who's doing a vlog (anonymously) to share his bad boy ways. If there's one thing he loves, it's women. He's a serial one-night stand-er who would never change his habits. Well you know what they say about NEVER falling in love? It's pure delight when it happens! And with Nate, all I have to say is that he won't see it coming!

Jessie is Nate's best friend sister. All three are super tight together and because of Nate's past they form like a big family. But it didn't stop Nate & Jessie to have a one night stand years ago, and it won't stop them to do it again...

"I trace my fingers across her collarbone, down around the curve her breast, around the tenderness of her stomach. She hums appreciatively, and I start wondering how we’re ever going to stop. "

description

I liked Nate's character, how he's honest with himself but also with everyone else. When you discover his background, you understand the way he acts and why he doesn't want commitment in his life. He's the guy you could easily fall for, not only because of his look but always because of his vulnerability. He doesn't realize what's in front of him for a long time but when he does, it's sweet and lovely.

As many female character I found Jessie a bit annoying at times but who could blame her to fall for the one guy she should stay away from. She was a strong girl who's independent. She was there as Nate's friend when needed and gives in to the same guy when It wasn't possible to resist.

" She doesn’t say anything at all. She just brings her lips to mine, and kisses me. It’s a kiss that says more than words ever could. A kiss that seems to connect our souls as much as our bodies."

The connection between these two is scorching hot! They can't keep their hands to each other and I'm not one to complain! The scenes are pure delight, torrid and some are sweet and cute.

"I keep my eyes closed for a few seconds after she pulls away, savoring the soft touch of her lips on mine. A touch that feels like her fingers on my soul, caressing it and protecting it from the darkness and bitterness that’s built up inside."

If you've only have to read one book by JD, this is the one to pick! With every book, it's getting better and better. I think I already said it in my previous reviews but it's true. It's great to get to witness how an author evolves.

I have a confession. I loved everything about this book. EVERYTHING!

1. Friends to lovers

2. Bad boy vlog (reminded me a bit of Simon and Little Dude although Nate doesn't draw a face on his peen and Simon doesn't blog about his sex life) - any way it made me think of Little Dude and I do love Little Dude and I do think I might love Nate.

3. I think my Facebook friend Sarah is in this book. I laughed at the reference to Sarah with red hair.

Mid review - family emergency! Back soon. Smallest child went to the park to play football and put his phone on the grass next to the goal. Hey presto - phone disappears. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

4. I am totally claiming British chamber maid as me! I am even buying a maid outfit from eBay as we speak. Be in no doubt, that bird in the hotel is me. Kyle loves me - just saying. It's the way I make the bed and do room service. Wink.

This book is so good. I totally loved Jessie, I do picture her as a cowgirl though (Toy Story reference). She has ambition in her chosen career but is stuck in a rut. She is brave. She rocks denim shorts. I just totally bonded with her. She is my new BFF. Cocktails and gossip, Friday me Jessie and Lorelei, it is a date!

The bad boy Nate. I am going back through the book to pick out his nuggets of wisdom. His threesome, one night stand advice I will park, anal, he's got a point. Anyway, he has sufficient good boy to outweigh the bad. Ssssssshhhhhh, he wants to be bad!

Plot - without spoilers, childhood friends, spark, deny, spark, whoopsie, deny, whoopsie, deny, whoopsie, deny, lots and lots of whoopsie, deny.

Supporting characters: the chamber maid is magnificent, I totally understand why Kyle tapped it. Kyle! Big strong brother who sticks up for his little sister and has a bromance with his bestie. And he rocks a suit. When he stayed in my hotel he always left his bed tidy and never sprinkled on the seat! Lorelei, sage, sensible, the voice of reason. Defo having a wine and scrabble night with her. Message me L!

I did love Brando and I appreciated Jax and Dylan but the bad boy is my favourite so far. JD - well done, that corporate cubicle has vanished like my boy's iPhone. Abradafuckingcabra!

Ugh. I wanted to like this. Like REALLY wanted to REALLY like this.

:(

(Sorry for the lo-fi emoji, gifs are a pain in the ass)

So, the damage...

Man-ho video-sex-blogger fucks life long best friend's little sister...the 3 are still very close friends. Massive Man-ho H is also a major Hollywood talent agent for years and it never occurred to him to wield some of that power to help the little sister (also life long friend) get a better costume/wardrobe job in Hollywood.

Really, mf'er??? REALLY?!?!?!?

I absolutely must say he loses all credit for me right there. They have known each other since they were single digits, Ladies. If there is ever a time for a little fucking nepotism in Hollywood...he is neck deep in The Industry. Please, she was a costumer FFS. Not a starlet...a fucking costume designer. And he can't help her get a better gig than what she has? One he KNOWS she is regularly shit on at. Where she works 16hrs 5days a week and still struggles to make ends meet. Both the H and the h's brother are making major bank in Hollywood...just sayin'

(Spoiler: even after he fucks her it never occurs to him to help her out until IT HAPPENS BY ACCIDENT CUZ SHE MET SOMEONE AT A PARTY while he was playing golf.)

I even liked the H 70% of the time. He was just such a major fucking douche the other 30% he couldn't recover for me. He doesn't cheat on her. They have an ONS, freak out, and separate for a period of time I never understood...months, years?? It's a flashback and occurs prior to the novel. He does however keep fucking women regularly until 4 days before they get back together. We're talking 3-5 women a week...just enlightening the readers.

I still liked him.

But then I didn't.

He was probably the best drawn recovering man-ho I've read because he doesn't just roll over, or fuck an OW, or eventually see the light...he resists with some fucked up headspace POV. To the point he lost his charm. Mixed with his past and the vlog posts...he will never change. He WILL eventually revert to form.

The h was great. She made him face his demons and told him to fuck off. She even faced his demons in her own headspace POV. To the point I thought she could never go back to him. Really...he wasn't even redeemable in his own POV. Then he never groveled much to get back into her good graces. I don't know which thing he needed to grovel for most, but he just wasn't believable as redeemed so I felt he had more to prove. It sure as fuck wasn't an HEA, maybe a HFN

And I liked him.

Oh, did I mention the ridiculous OOOPS BABY plot?

No?

Well, there was that too.

The writing was very engaging and will keep me reading the author. It also bumped this to 3 stars.

I read Confessions of a Bad Boy without reading the blurb or the teasers. I went in cold. I kind of want you to go in cold, too. Just read it.

But that's not enough for a review is it?

So know that it's sweet and hot, charming and racy, and a different storyline than I've ever read.

That's probably not enough for a review either.

God, I don't even WANT to explain what it's about simply because I couldn't guess where it was going as I was reading it and that was part of the fun. Well, to start checking boxes for those of you who need to know more, it's a friends to lovers story (gets a check), a best friend's sister's story (gets a check), and a reformed manwhore story (gets a check), all at the same time.

So here's the thing. While I think that JD Hawkins has an advantage as a male author (as I've said in the past) to deliver on the eternal WHAT IS HE THINKING? question, I really thought that he shined just as much or more in the chapters that were from Jessie's female perspective. I just thought he nailed it.

I also found myself paying attention to the descriptions of places and emotions, of explanations for behavior and motivations, and thought that they were all spot on and drew me into the story. And the delicious use of metaphors throughout. So much fun.

And for God's sake, the sex.

Gah.

So good. Excruciatingly good.

I loved the characters, I loved the premise, and I loved the way it was written.

Five stars.

3.5 In love with my best friend's little sister stars!

A Very fun, predictable, easy read centering around a successful manwhore who develops feelings for the girl he was never allowed to touch.

I didn't really connect with the heroine though and Nate's vlog was a little boring, but Hawkins did a great job weaving a sense of guilt into a story mainly focused on desire and commitment.

I probably would have given this a 4.5 star rating if there had been a little less drama towards the end, and if there had been a little more build up to the first few sex scenes. It just happened a little too quickly for me.

A definite must read for Hawkins fans, and lovers of friends to lovers romance.

I guess I'm in the minority here. Classic case of: It's not the book... It's me. I wasn't particularly invested in the storyline or the characters but I can see why others would enjoy it. While the hero had an interesting hobby in his Bad Boy vlogs, I find people that divulge their sexual escapades kind of irritating... 🙄 Like I said, it's not the book... It's me. I do recommend this book if you're into Best Friend's Sister and (a rather short-lived) fake relationship tropes.

➦Am I a big sucker for friends to lovers romances?

➦The story was well written and well thought out. It did make me feel. With that said.......

➦It could have been a 5* read if it wasn't for the unnecessary drama pile-up at the end. I mean, I like some drama, but it didn't need drama on top of drama. Could have done without.

➦I specifically could have lived without the whole

➦I think it's also worth mentioning the cover. I mean, the guy on the cover is hot, but I didn't find any mention of the hero in the book having tattoos. It would have been a dead give away for his video confessions to have a tattoo like that.

➦Anyhow, the characters are pretty well-rounded. I loved the heroine, she was confident and spoke her mind. She saw through the hero's bs. :)

➦If you like friends to lovers, give this one a shot. Beware, there's a bit of a sugar overload at the end!

Sweet, sexy, and seductive, Confessions of a Bad Boy touches you like a scorching kiss, melting your body and blowing your mind. Emotional. Explosive. Engaging. This story is a confession of a bad boy but much more.

Almost immediately into Confessions of a Bad Boy, I felt as if I had stolen a player’s diary, stepping into this bad boy’s head and stealing his thoughts. I was leading a ManVasion on my Confessions of a Bad Boy date. My all access pass to an intimate invasion into a man’s world, thoughts, and operations was so right it almost felt wrong.

“What’s wrong with being a bad boy?”

Nothing. Nothing at all. A bad boy is every woman’s fantasy come to life. Her decadent dream. A pleasure pony. A dirty-talking delight.

“I can give a girl a look that’ll mean more than most guys can achieve in a year of presents, poems, and pleas.”

My plea is one forbidden night with Nate. Brown hair, blue eyes, tall, muscular, inked, and connoisseur of women. Straight talker. Alluring alpha. Manwhore. Nate knows his way around the female form…inside and out.

Nate is the ultimate bad boy who pursues women like a covert military operation: hard and fast.

“My target looks up…” and “Unnecessary obstacles…” emphasized the precision and prowess of this player. This player indoctrinates many women into the Pleasure Parade, as they are lined up for the revolving love fest. One night of pleasure and then bed and bolt. Nate’s hard limit: his heart. His rule: Never fall in love as it only results in pain.

Rules are so meant to be broken.

“I see a pair of elegant legs, sexy curves leading up to an ass that I want to pull onto my face---then I realize it’s Jessie and look away. It’s fucking Jessie! My best friend’s little sister.”

Jessie, Nate’s best friend’s little sister, has always caught Nate’s eye. Dark hair. Hazel eyes. Curvy body. Sweet mouth. Though Jessie is like that pretty signed book on a book lover’s shelf. Something or someone you look at and ogle, but don’t touch. Off limits.

Off limits until one drunken night in a hotel room that blurred lines. Crossed boundaries that were supposed to be blocked. Touched parts that weren’t supposed to be touched.

“This is wrong for so many reasons. It’s wrong because we’ve grown up together as friends…It’s wrong because one single act could ruin so many of the best things in both of our lives.”

Jessie, like Nate, still can’t erase that one unforgettable night. One where they will never look at each other like childhood friends again or touch each other without sparks surging.

“It never happened. No excuses. No apologizes. No explanations.”

Flash forward four years, and they find themselves together again when Nate desperately needs his fake finance to appear real to impress the boss and rise up in ranks as a top Hollywood talent agent. As they play the happy couple, the embers are ignited; they weren’t even supposed to burn. A fire fuels flames as passion surrounds Jessie and Nate like a love potion.

“What the hell is happening to me? It’s Jessie, for fuck’s sake. I grew up with her, she’s one of the few people I can actually call a friend, and yet here I am feeling full of a fire that only she can put out.”

The tension is mounting, a force like the wind…howling and hovering…ready to blow. Jessie should not want a player like Nate, as she has dated enough action stallions. She knows her childhood friend, her brother’s best buddy all too well, and he likes to sample from the smorgasbord of women. She just needs to relay the ‘no Nate’ message to her traitorous body.

“My body’s throbbing with unresolved energy, tension and stress that needs to be released, and the one thing that can offer me that relief is lying on his back in the same room, completely untouchable.”

The act of playing the happy couple crosses into the real zone. Feelings start to flutter like fireflies, lighting the passion where lust bleeds into love. For the first time, possibility floats in the air that the bad boy player could play for only one woman---if only the female fanning his flames wasn’t forbidden.

“I try to look at Jessie with my old eyes. The eyes that saw her as a young girl, an annoying tagalong, and eventually a real friend, but it’s hard.”

I must confess: This book is even better than the rest. JD Hawkins’ writing wows me more with each of his sensational stories. This author’s latest sensation is intimate and intriguing as the words are rugged and raw…making them feel real. JD Hawkins has woven a harmony of heat and heart, feverishly pumping feels that flow through the pages in this story, playing a surprising but sweet and swoon-inducing tune.

Confessions of a Bad Boy is candid and captivating, a diary mixed with a forbidden and friends-to-lovers romance. The known but unknown. The old but new. This bad boy is brilliant, beautiful, and so much more than a name.

I've been a JD Hawkins fan for a while now. His books are always a good, steamy read. Confessions? It goes above and beyond! He gives us Nate and Jessie here. We get to follow their forbidden relationship from its conception, while getting peeks at their past, with them being life long friends. I enjoyed the mentions of past characters. Mostly, I enjoyed Jessie. She was REAL. She made mistakes, she forgave. It was a true pleasure reading Confessions of a Bad Boy.

Confessions is JD Hawkins best work to date. As always with a Hawkins book- it's hot and you don't want to put it down until the last word is read.

I suppose it’s time for this bad boy to grow up into a real man.

I'm a huge fan of J.D. Hawkins. Have been a fan from the start. So I've obviously got all of his books either in my 'read' pile or on my 'to-read' list. This has been waiting for my greedy hands for some time and I'm glad I finally got the chance to enjoy it.

Nate was a manwhore. He abhorred commitment and wasn't willing to give up his freedom. He wasn't apologetic about his ways and was actually completely honest with anyone he came across. After a one-night stand with his best friend's sister, Jessie, he realized that their time together meant more to him than any other, but not enough to have him change...

Until Jessie cares more about their potential future... a future Nate will fight tooth and nail to deny.

I felt that it took too long for Nate to 'see the light' and so I couldn't completely believe in their happy for now ending. It lacked depth and I needed to see more of Nate's change than what I got.

Overall, it was a solid read and I'm thrilled to have added this one to my 'read' pile.

4.5 Stars

I rarely pick up romance written by male authors because I have an unwarranted and unfair fear that the books will be too juvenile and full of gross humor or sexual situations and not enough romance. Suffice it to say I need to get over myself and stop being an assuming asshole because authors like J.D. Hawkins prove that I have nothing to worry about.
I love a good brother's best friend/friend to lovers story and when you throw a Bad Boy reformed into the mix I can't help but fall in love. After all, what woman doesn't dream of being the ONE that makes a self-proclaimed player/Bachelor for life change his ways?
On the surface, and in his columns, Nate comes off as a cocky, womanizing asshole and for the most part he lives up to that image and seems pretty happy about it. However, once he starts to fall for Jessie, even while denying that he is, you see a sweeter, more genuine side of him.
Jessie was strong and secure in her sexuality and didn't put up with Nate's BS. I absolutely adored how she called him out when he was being wishy-washy and that she didn't spend her time chasing him.
The two of them together had some crazy chemistry and man, was it fun to read. I appreciate that J.D. wrote some pretty sexy scenes but nothing that was over the top just or took away from the romance aspect of the story.
There were a few things I had issue with towards the end of the book that kept me from giving it a full 5 stars but nothing that ruined the story for me and, honestly, the last few paragraphs made up for any doubts I had.
This was my first time reading J.D. Hawkins but it certainly won't be the last. It looks like my days of judging a book by it's Author's gender are over.

I liked this a lot more than I thought I would, there were a few bits I was rolling my eyes at the drama of it all. But I still really enjoyed it!

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ bad boy no more

It’s a good start of this years
If you a fans of friends to lover plot you should read this book, not many authors can pull this out

But Hawkin def can do it, it’s flow naturally many lmao moments and most importantly here you’re found not weak h when coupled with a bad boy H

I can’t give 5 stars tough as I don’t really appreciate H grovelling, to light and not hard enough
Also what was that epilogue ??? It could have been better

But again this book worth to read and spend your hard earning penny’s

WOW what can I say about this book. I was completely blown away with the characters and the problems they faced. I am not going to give any spoilers away but this book had my TWO all time favorite aspects in it. I was completely impressed with J.D's writing I could not put this book down. The writing style was incredible and just sucks you into the story and makes you want more. I will now be a automatic one clicker of J.Ds books going forward.

I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Having read “Insatiable” a while back and finding myself becoming insatiable for books by JD Hawkins, I couldn't wait to get a hold of this bad boy. He always manages to bring a sexy new perspective to erotic romance and leave us hot and bothered and ready for more. After experiencing Nate and Jessie in “Confessions of A Bad Boy”, I have to say that he hasn't lost his touch. Nate and Jessie are angsty, witty, and full of combustible heat. They are always a breath away from tearing each other's clothes off and worshiping one another's body when they're not disagreeing about love and relationships. Not only does JD give us a shiny new couple to obsess over he also mentions and has appearances by some of his past characters which had me screaming like a giddy school girl.

Jessie is a hard working costume designer who is trying to claw her way to the top of her field. She has been knocked down time and again by love yet still believes that it won't elude her forever. If only she could get her older, short tempered, over protective brother Kyle to let her live, love, and make her own mistakes. She is understated sexiness, with a big heart, and is a “the glass is half full” type of girl. Her wit and sarcasm are infectious and I couldn't help but love her sass and self confidence. She manages to bring the “bad boy” to his knees and I enjoyed every minute of watching her work her feminine powers.

Nate is a talent agent who has a secret life as an online sex guru. The sight of his sculpted chest and abs and his ability to talk positions and technique have made thousands of women swoon and caused men to sit up and take notice. He is a complete commitment-phobe and believes in celebrating and worshiping a different woman every night of the week. When situations place him and Jessie in different compromising positions over and over again he must decide whether love is on the horizon or if it will mean total destruction of important life long friendships. I adore everything about Nate from his cocky attitude, gorgeous body, to his twisted philosophy about sex and love. He is all smooth seduction and rough edges that are to sexy to resist.

JD Hawkins creates another bad boy to keep us awake long into the night. Move over Jax, Dylan, and Bruno because there is a new hero in town and he has some sexy confessions to make. “Confessions of a Bad Boy” is all heat, heart, and quick tempers - and takes a friends to lovers story to a whole new scorching hot level with possibility of detonation. I highly recommend all books by JD Hawkins for romance in every situation and position with characters that you will grow to love and want to revisit.

Confession #1...Nate has now replaced Jax, Dylan
and Brando which are tough acts to follow.

This book is a fresh look of a "Bad Boy" and a
"friends to lovers" story with a twist. Their is a
lot more to this story, but it is hard to articulate
without giving spoilers away.

The cover and the need to see what this "Bad Boy"
had to say consumed me right from the prologue.
A unique story about a talent agent who has a
"secret" only a very few people in his life know.
Jessie is the little sister of Nate's best friend Kyle
and Nate has known Jessie since she was a little girl.
Kyle is extremely protective of his little sister especially
knowing exactly how Nate conducts his life. Kyle was
an awesome friend and brother.

Nate is talented, confidant, and extremely sexy.
He does not believe in having a long term relationship.
The "secret" is where you learn so much about Nate.
It was written in such a creative way and it is very much
a part of Nate's life. He does not do long term relationships
and is very content in the life he leads.

Jessie a costume designer, beautiful, creative and
goes by her own rules. She is working at a job
that she really does not care for and has not had the
best of luck in the relationship department. She has
a strong sense of independence and does not put up
with Nate's bullshit. She goes by her own rules but
she is still vulnerable at times but sticks to her
convictions as she struggles with her feelings for
Nate.

Jessie finds herself in a couple of predicaments
where Kyle is unavailable to help her out. Enter
Nate - who steps in for Kyle. Nate also finds
himself needing Jessie to help him with
being a "fake girlfriend" to further his career.

They each battle with the emotions that they are
not used to, Jessie knows that Nate does not
do more than one night stands. Nate finds
himself struggling with these feelings and
fighting the urge to change, for two giant
reasons. One being Kyle and the other the
"secret".

You will have questions:
Can Dylan give up his lifestyle?
Can he come to terms with his past?
Can Jessie forgive the secret?
Will Kyle understand once he finds out?
Will these two make it as a couple?

Do not deny yourself from reading this book.
It's a creative read and different.
It has passion, lust, great banter, its funny, and
the sex scenes are hot!

JD does his homework in a descriptive way he
describes, places, and the Hollywood scene that
make you feel like you are there.
JD can also write both points of view -
with that being said, the women's point of view
is believable and intelligent.

The epilogue while I loved it, I want more!!!!

So many good things about this Bad Boy! I had a fantastic time while Nate and Jessie burned up my Kindle and got under my skin. Nate is in the rather uncomfortable position of falling for his best friend Kyle's little sister, Jessie. It's made a little more complicated by the fact that Kyle has a bit of a temper and thinks no man is good enough for Jessie. Oh, and let's not forget that Nate has a secret identity that's a little bit scandalous. Throw in a twist I never saw coming, two perfectly flawed and completely relatable characters with some off the charts sexual chemistry and I didn't want to put this book down.

I must confess I love all of JD Hawkins books. In fact, he was the very first male writer I ever read. I have to admit I was skeptical to read a book written by a man, only because I was quite new to romance novels at the time. But he has definitely become my very favorite male author. Not only are his stories full of deliciously naughty dirty talk and exploits, a wildly entertaining male POV, but also full of legit feels as well. Every new book becomes my next favorite, and when the new one ends I'm already dying to see what's next.

5 'Bad Boy' Stars

This book was amazing. Hot,sweet and sexy!

I loved all the characters and the Hollywood setting in the book.
Especially Nate..

"All that stroking of the covers, the fingering of the pages. The intimacy of reading. The idea that there are infinite possibilities contained inside the books, that anything could happen. People indulging all of their fantasies, secrets, and imaginations in the only way they can. It’s sexy."
~ Nate

I never knew book reading could be described like that.

This was a friends turned lovers romance. Our heroine,Jessie has a crush on Nate since childhood.

"We stand for a second, looking at each other. I’ve known Nate for as long as I can remember, but whenever I go a week or so without seeing him, it still takes me a few minutes to get used to how annoyingly beautiful he is. The sharp lines and rough stubble on his face made you wonder if someone had breathed life into a Greek statue, setting a couple of zircon gems in it for eyes. The sort of face you experience, rather than see."

They get to a friends with benefits relationship though it doesn't feel like it(at least not to me)

And the two of them together..Its Awesome

"I keep my eyes closed for a few seconds after she pulls away, savoring the soft touch of her lips on mine. A touch that feels like her fingers on my soul, caressing it and protecting it from the darkness and bitterness that’s built up inside." ~Nate

“It’s not the things that change, it’s the things that stay the same which you notice as you get older.”

Can't forget Nate's videos.They are good..

Rounding up,a fantastic book with a bit of romance and a Bad Boy :)

There may be millions of you, but there’s only one of her.

Okay I’m ready to write my review, now that I’ve stopped sobbing. The final paragraph of the epilogue brought me to tears, it’s beautifully touching and heartwarming. Confessions of a Bad Boy is a witty, fun, meaningful tale of a playboy and his hang-ups. There's also a little forbidden love to boot.

Nate is our resident Bad Boy/Playboy. He enjoys quick, non-committal hook-ups.

“It ain’t easy living like me, sleeping with beautiful women every night of the week, taking things one second at a time, searching for the one beautiful connection, then throwing it away the morning after- but I’ll tell you this: It’s pretty fucking awesome.”

Nate takes his experiences and anonymously shares them on his vlog, his highly popular vlog. He has become an ‘internet-sex-pervert-guru-philosopher-asshole' but people love him and his advice. Although Nate is riding high as a successful talent agent and vlogger, he’s hit the wall. He’s ready to move forward with his career and make the next move. When the opportunity arises he finds himself in a dilemma. He has to convince his longtime friend to play his fiancée for the weekend. Luckily for him, she owes him one.

Jessie is working long hours in the costume department. When she discovers her boyfriend had been cheating on her she may just go a little nuts and finds herself in a jam. Nate comes to the rescue and bails her out. It doesn’t take long before Nate needs a favor in return. Nate needs a fake fiancée and Jessie is the perfect candidate. They are childhood friends, who know each other best.

What transpires next is a crazy, aborting of a self-fulfilling prophesy. It's an upward struggle for Nate to discover there's life after non-committal hook-ups. He also struggles with the possibility of losing his best friends if Jessie's brother discovers their secret. We got a glimpse of a over-worked, overly protective brother, Kyle, who has some man whorish tenancies. Love him!! The story has a HEA, as I mentioned earlier, that was beautifully touching and heart-warming. 5 Stars!
