At the mercy of a commanding alien's savage lust and wild passion...
Swept away to another world by an experiment gone wrong, Astrid Carver finds herself the captive of the handsome and mysterious Hestian, Crown Prince of the alien planet Nibiru.
A pawn in Hestian's deadly feud with his brother Orestes, Astrid has no choice but the cooperate with their political and military ploys as she searches for a way to escape back to Earth. Astrid is soon caught up in the intrigues of a foreign planet where the men out number the women 100 to 1.
Between the strategic manipulations of the Hesperides, the sheltered group of women who are the only females in the city, to the looming threat of cruel Orestes's army and his ferocious War Brides, to the strange, magnetic attraction between herself and Hestian which grows every day.
What at first seemed like only a physical lust seems to be blossoming into something more, distracting Astrid from her fight to escape.
Can she resist the pull of a love so strong it called to her across the stars or will she find that by the time she's found the path home, she'll no longer want to follow it?
Can she cool the flames of war before they erupt and take the entire planet with them, or will she be caught in the crossfire between these Princes of Nibiru?
This was an alright story with some major problems. The world building was rough but I liked the concept. Needed less or more description, as it was there was confusion and holes. The characters were the real problem. I hated the heroine. She is supposed to be smart but acts like an idiot. Doesn't see basic points in the plot that should be obvious to an intelligent person. The hero wasn't much better but mostly lacked depth. The romance had some sweet moments but the relationship conflict was mostly 'I don't understand you, I misinterpret everything and even though we could easily talk it out I'll just be angry and whiney-until the very end'. Found it hard to finish this one. Rough scifi romance novella. Author has potential but this wasn't good and the grammar and spelling bothered me and it takes a lot of mistakes to bother me. A few decent sex scenes, some of the romance was sweet, the world held some interesting ideas and I enjoyed some of the side characters even with minor roles. I'd recommend if you get it for free, really like scifi romance, you need a quick read and you're out of other choices.
I did not like Astrid. She was so book smart her dumb behind wasn't Earthly good. Her crazy butt didn't realize good ole professor who choose young naive her over more qualified candidates set her dumb twit self up. She deserved to be treated cold and cruelly ungrateful twit. I liked Hestian he made great hero that she didn't deserve.
Traveling distant an light years away to find her destined mate .
A genius mad scientist with his assistant Astrid make strides to produce a wormhole to a distant galaxy an planet as she steps thru the portal her adventure begins . 18+
What's not to like? A fun read with a smart heroine, a sexy kind-hearted bad-ass hero, and very good world building. Fast moving plot, no insta love. All pluses.
Will definitely be checking the author's other books.
This book had a very good premise. The world building was visually detailed and beautiful. There were some grammatical errors but overall I very much enjoyed it.
