Her Billionaires #4

It's Always Complicated

Rate this book
Take two men, one woman, three children. Stir in one best friend and her fiancé doctor. Whisk one best friend's niece, her two rock star boyfriends, and add a grizzled old octogenarian diner owner with a naughty mouth and her eighty-something boyfriend who loves every minute of her.

Put them all in a campground in northern Maine where the owners' daughter has two special men of her own. Bake for 400 pages.

It's Always Complicated is the sprawling saga of how Laura, Mike and Dylan (Her Billionaires) and Josie and Alex (It's Complicated) have the wedding of a lifetime at Escape Shores Campground (the Obedient series) while Darla, Trevor and Joe (the Random series) make an appearance with a cast of characters that includes cameos from the Warlock Waitress and maybe...just maybe...Mavis the Chicken.

This book combines three of Julia Kent's series in a madcap spectacle that yields one universal truth: love is a journey and not a destination, but people will drive you crazy along the way.

Enjoy the ride.

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge. Since 2013, she has sold more than 2 million books, with 5 New York Times bestsellers and more than 21 appearances on the USA Today bestseller list. Her books have been translated into French, German, and Italian, with more titles releasing in the future.

From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men's room toilet (and he isn't a billionaire in a rom com).

She also writes romantic suspense as Meli Raine, sexy shifter romances as DJ Jennings, billionaire shifters as half of the author team Diana Seere, and co-authors with Elisa Reed.

She lives in New England with her husband and three children in a household where she is the only person with the gene required to change empty toilet paper rolls.

I have read each and every book that Julia Kent has written starting with the Obedient series and loved each and every one of them...as like others I have my favorites and she has never disappointed me...well she has done it once again she made me fall in love with this book and everyone in it! I did not really know what to expect when I started reading this book, I was so happy to see some very familiar faces from her series (Billionaire, Obedient and Random Act of Crazy). This book is set around the weddings for Alex and Josie, Laura, Mike and Dylan with all of the craziness that goes with pulling on a wedding well in this case 2 weddings! It takes place in a small town in Maine. Well you would think that this would just be your typical wedding and go off with out a hitch...no no no of course that does not happen...this book had me laughing out loud, giggling, gasping, going oh no oh no please not that, tearing up and down right crying and being mad at myself because I could not clearly see the words through my tears and saying thank god! This book should be read after reading the prior books in the Billionaire series for it to make sense. I promised never to reveal spoilers and all I can say is man oh man there are some surprises in this book I would never have expected but you will all have to read it to find out what they are! I can not wait for more of this series and hope to see another book in the Obedient series to expand on what we saw happening with Lydia, Jeremy and Mike B! I really enjoyed this book and hope you enjoy it as much! I want to thank Julia Kent for the opportunity to read an ARC copy of this book for my honest review...

5 Uncomplicated Stars!!!

I LOVED this book from beginning to end! There's the hilarity I've come to expect and love from Ms. Kent and specifically these characters. It starts off with a trip to Mile High Club with the most unlikely person you could imagine and that just sets the stage for the rest of the book!

I got to see all my favorite characters, Laura, Dylan and Mike and got introduced to a few new friends and I just sat back and went with the flow. While this book clocks in at a little over 400 pages, it didn't feel like that as I was so engrossed in the story that time just seemed to whiz by because I found it difficult to put the book down. There's some tears shed as well, but overall a romantic comedy at its best. If you've read all the other books in this series, this is a not to be missed installment!!

Seriously the best book ever but, I think I say that on EVERY SINGLE book she publishes! If you haven't read any of Julia's other books definitely start with the first ones. They're worth every single penny!

This book starts off and as usual Julia doesn't disappoint with the hilarity involved when the Mom of the bride decides to join the mile high club with not one but two men! Then the tears start and boy is it gut wrenching. I think I held my breath for the entire ending.

On a side note never start one of Julia's books without having at least an hour to read. You seriously can't put them down!

It's Always Complicated (Her Billionaires Book 4)

The continuous love story of Laura, Dylan and Mike, Josie and Alex, and Darla, Trevor, and Joe. It's four years after Jill has been born and two years after the twins. The double wedding is going to happen. Mike's parents have shown up and he is on the run.
Great story. You will meet new and old characters from two of Julia's series.

WOW! Just a big massive humungous dose of WOW!!....

I have read all of Julia's books but done so last year and when this was finally published (had it on pre-order!) I re-read every book so that I was fully up to date with each of the characters! And WOW of all WOWs I loved it!!

To be able to bring all the characters from 3 different series back together and for it to be an absolute block buster of a book is just pure genius! I've said before that Julia's mind is one crazy unique messed up one of a kind and this book proves it yet again!!

There is a lot more emotion in this book, like heart stopping omg I'm gonna cry so please be ok kind of emotions! But still has heart stopping omg I'm gonna wet myself through laughter kinda moments - seriously, who can combine those and have you so intrigued you'll lose track of time!??!

Pure brilliance, one of my favorite books EVER and I have read a LOT of books!!

Hats of to ya Julia and a massive thank you for sharing your craziness!!!

Loved this

Sorry to see The Billionaires series end, but I loved how it did!!

This book has 2 other books involved in this book, but if you haven't read them yet, you won't be too lost.

Mike, Laura, Dylan, Josie, and Alex decide to finally get married. They want a double wedding including their 3 little ones. The place they pick to get married at is a campground in Maine. Away from the media and you meet Lydia, Mike B, and Jeremy, another triad. Lydia's family owns the campground. Knowing that there's another triad out there living like Lydia does, gives her hope. Lydia is also Madge's granddaughter from Jeddy's.

Darla, Trevor, and Joe are also invites being that Darla is Josie's cousin.

But when a big surprise arrives without having RSVPd, Mike Pine is furious with Laura for inviting them and runs off his anger. Hours later, no one can find him and when they do, things don't look so good.

A must read!

Book 4: Always Complicated
4 stars
I purchased on KU a copy of the steamy novel It's Always Completely Complicated: Her Billionaires book 4 by Julie Kent and this review was given freely.
Jumping four years into the future this is emotional, stress filled and at times suspenseful, we are shifted from Boston to the reunion of dysfunctional family members in a Maine campground where another rich threesome are in the owner's family and, best friends Laura and Josie plan to marry their men but life events and doubts interfere. I skimmed over most of the vivid intimate scenes.

Wonderful

This series, as with her Random series was wonderful. It’s full of funny lines, “real life” drama, like juggling kids, family and friends. I found this series very enjoyable and am sad it’s over. The last book in the series was a great way to end the series, tying everyone and all events together. I love the way the characters reflect on their lives and love no matter what. Life is messy but love always wins!

I didn’t finish the book. Which is something I rarely do. I really like the Random series so I’m a little disappointed. I found myself putting the book down constantly because it didn’t keep my attention. Don’t get me wrong there were good parts. But there were also parts that felt like they were just filler and made things drag on to long.

Where this book is funny, it’s side-splittingly hilarious. Where it’s angsty, it’s pure anguish. And where it’s sweet, it was so utterly precious it made my teeth ache. There are lots of unexpected happenings getting these couples down the aisle. But in the process, they all learn a little bit more about themselves, each other, and the strength of their loves.

Over The Top Crazy

WOW!! This book is a MUST read!! It has it all…a spunky grandma, crazy mom, friends, lovers, siblings and more. My copy was part of “The Wedding Laughbox” so I have not read all the books that these characters cover but I am definitely going to! There is so much crossover and hints of past craziness on top of current craziness, how can I resist.

Loved reading this book. It really extends the lives of all the people I've grown very fond of over so many books about their adventures into life and romance.
I have many of the books in the series Julia Kent has written, but not all of them. Still all the characters feel like family now.
Good job again Julia. You're on a roll. :)

As usual, I LOVED this Julia Kent book. It started out like many of her other books but then OH MY, I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING! I did not want to put this book down. It is a bit less humorous than many other books connected with this series but still a must read!

What an incredible wedding ceremony for Laura, Dylan and Mike and then Josie and Alex. I could not put the book down as I needed to find out how all the shenanigans were going to end up.

Reading It's Always Complicated by Julia Kent was like going home. Smelling the familiar aromas, basking in the familiarity; home.

Three of Julia's series(Her Billionaires, Random Series, and the Obedient Series) are all brought together for the spectacular event that is the uniting of a triad Dylan, Laura, and Mike. Along with the wedding of Laura's best friend Josie to her fiance Alex. It's Always Complicated picks up a couple years after the novella Complete We and we get to meet the newest addition to DLM's family.

Emotions constantly run high in this story. I mean, we all know Julia can push the angst while making us laugh uncontrollably but It's Always Complicated rules them all. It's the one ring.

Josie has to deal with her mother getting arrested as soon as she lands. ARRESTED!!!

Laura has two husbands and three kids she's trying to balance and is just emotionally vulnerable. The men aren't fairing much better. Then when they've all made it to the wedding destination it seems Laura neglected to tell Dylan and Mike P. about something she did. Guests she invited, who show up at the most intimate time between the three and one of the men eventually takes off running like a mad man. Away from his emotional pain and into a world of physical pain as he doesn't stop to take in his surroundings. Oops.

This accident brings all groups into play for a search and rescue that ends with unexpected heroes and a hightened blood pressure for the reader. Seriously, it raised my adrenaline rate and I had to get up and pace the house in the middle of the night. I couldn't put the book down because it was soo good while also becoming a nervous wreck. These are characters I've fallen in love with time and time again and they're in trouble!!!

It's Always Complicated will keep you more than entertained. It will have you absorbed, hooked, addicted, and obsessed. You'll laugh, you'll cry (half from laughing), you'll pull your hair out in worry. Signs of a great book.

As her usual Julia ends the book with the reader content with what we've read yet gives us just that little taste that leaves us wanting more.

Oh, how I've missed these characters! I feel as if I've just come from a reunion of long lost friends. The characters that Julia Kent has created in the Her Billionaires, the Random Acts, and the Obedient series are some of the most unique and interesting characters I have ever read. They are so real and true and deliciously flawed. They can be absolutely frickin hilarious one minute and ripping out your heart and handing it to you the next. You just can't help but to become invested in these characters' lives. Now this book is fabulous on its own, but it will mean so much more to you if you've read the Her Billionaires and the Obedient series beforehand. It's a lot to read, but it's so worth it. I think I experienced every emotion possible at least once while reading this book. This book will make you laugh. Oh Lordy, will it make you laugh! It will make you cry. It will make you think. It will make you look at life and love a little differently. Once I started reading, I absolutely did not want to put this book down. It was captivating and poignant and intriguing and provocative and romantic and completely riveting. I would highly recommend this book, and I pray that these characters never stop speaking to Ms. Kent.

Julia Kent fans get ready for a beyond 10 star new book. IT'S ALWAYS COMPLICATED!!! Her new book was such an enjoyable read I didn't want it to end. Only Julia has a way of writing characters we feel we know love and lust after. I don't want to give spoilers so I'm careful what to say. But I was so engrossed in this book I stayed up all night reading. Josie and Dr Perfect Alex along with her bff Laura , Dylan and Mike and twins plus adorable Jillian were so relatable yet hot sexy love at times and the laugh out loud life only the way Julia can write. Them imagine Josie crazy mom and Darla along with Her 2 guys adding more humor to this already good read. Also Lydia her Mike and Jeremy had the campgrounds getting ready for the wedding. There were some emotional times along with laugh out loud funny. I'm reading the Obedient series by Julia Kent now. That's where Lydia Mike and Jeremy came in. It's the only Julia Kent books I haven't read although I own. I can't recommend this book more. The only thing I want is more. I have become attached to these characters and could read many more books as their lives progress. I'm reading this book again I enjoyed it that much.

Given to me for an honest review. If you normally don't read the author's note, please read this one. It explains how she has four Mikes in the same story. It is best if you have read all of the other stories first. Josie is having her wedding where almost everybody from the previous books attend. I managed to keep all the characters straight and attached to the correct person, but it was difficult since I read Ms Kent's books about two years ago and haven't read her more recent ones yet. The opening scene has men with guns and TSA agents running through the airport. Josie thinks it's her mother causing the problem but then then she says no it isn't always her mother causing havoc. Then a guy runs past her mentioning the woman is naked. That starts excitement that Ms Kent is famous for in these books. Everybody is going to a campground that is hopefully, far enough off the grid that photographers and journalists can't find it. Laura and her guys will be there and they are always news.

A Mighty Mashup - Throuples, Couples and a Wedding!

I love crossovers. Books, TV shows, movies...LOVE THEM!. So this latest installment of Julia Kent's "Billionaires" series is right in my wheelhouse.

Finally, there's a wedding. Laura, Mike and Dylan from "Her Billionaires" along with Josie and Alex from "It's Complicated" are sharing a wedding day. And it's all happening at the Maine campground owned by Lydia's family...Lydia and her boyfriends, Mike & Jeremy, from the author's "Obedient" series.

But, as usual, things do not go as planned.

This installment has the laugh-out-loud moments I've come to expect in Ms. Kent's books. But then there were times I was either on the edge of my seat or finding I couldn't swallow past the lump in my throat.

Add in all the other characters that "drop in" - Darla, Trevor and Joe from the "Random" series, Josie and Darla's family, and Madge from Jeddy's Diner - what's not to love?

And I DO love these books! More, please!

It's always complicated by Julia Kent

I've been a fan of Julia Kent's books for a long time and reading It's always complicated was both new and familiar - like coming home. In this book Julia combines 3 of her series (Random, Her Billionaires and The Obedient Series) and it's just as funny, heartwarming and sexy as always.
It's always complicated is told in multiple POV and centers around the double wedding of Mike, Dylan and Laura from Her Billionaires Series and Josie and Alex from both Random Series and Her Billionaires Series. Darla, Trevor and Joe from Random series makes several appearances and the flow of the books is excellent.
Even though this book mostly centers around a few days before, during and after the wedding there's still a lot happening and of course you can't put all these characters in the same book without dramatic events occurring ;-)
This book brought forward laughter, joy, tears and a lot of angst - another five star book from an excellent author <3
