Chris T’Alq was the oldest of Grai’s adopted Dranovian children and shouldered the burden of caring for his siblings and keeping them in line, so when he and an old, close friend had a drunken night of fun together, he didn’t think anything of it. But then the calls and texts started, and he believed he was being shaken down by who he’d thought was a trusted friend.
Quinn Williams had a terrible childhood, and the moment she turned 18, she left home to try and make a better life for herself. One night, she was rescued by the enigmatic and charming Chris T’Alq, and the two became inseparable friends. It was his friendship, strength, and kindness that got her through the hard first years of being alone. She never thought that one mistake would lead him to hate her and ignore her when she needed him the most.
Driven to desperation, Quinn agrees to go to a place for women in her situation with no idea that she handed herself and her baby over to the most dangerous man on the planet, the dark prime. Chris and his siblings will face their deadliest challenge yet to try and save the life of the woman he didn’t realize was his mate and the unborn child he never thought he could have.
This was Chris and Quinn's book and if you (like me) are into your alien love story every once in a while then this is a MUST read !! I think I liked the First Wave series best, but the Second Wave stories have been equally great x This one was my favorite........something nice about unrequited love finally working out !!!
Ms. Lane does a great job of character developing! I am so into these books I can't keep from devouring them as soon as I get them. Then I can't wait for the next one and have to go back and re-read some of them just to sooth the hunger!!! I hope she NEVER stops!!!!!!!!!! Love love love them!!
Chris finds that he was far too hasty in condemning his friend of 10 years, Rianna! He hadn't believed it possible for her to be carrying his baby as she is human, but Drs Lauren and Amun have just discovered that it is possible. He immediately tries to call her but gets no answer. When he goes to see her he finds out that she left in a limousine a week before. Meantime his family has found out about her and are furious with him. The well oiled Grai machine gets into action determined to find her and bring her home! Once again a decent story is spoilt by the very poor proofreading! The errors distract from the story as you are continually having to stop and reread to make sense of it. I would have given it 4 stars but I'm deducting one star for the annoyance!
I would have never thought Chris would be so hurtful and callous toward a friend but he does it in this book. He has to work hard to be forgiven. My favorite part of the First Wave and Second Wave series is the strong, smart and loving women. There's a few of them in this book especially Quinn.
Chris's story was a great addition to Mikayla Lane's Second Wave series. I have been reading this and the First Wave series from the very first and I love them. Alien's, hybrids, humans, really bad guys and action that just jumps out at you, makes for an enthralling read. Each page draws you further and further in and the fascination for more just keeps growing. Some series become repetitive when there are many stories involved, that is certainly not the case here, growing bored (for me) has not been an option. Keep up the great work Mikayla.
I really like this series and look forward to when they are released. I like the theme of family sticking together and calling you out when you wrong. I really like that you don't have to share blood in order to be called family. Can't wait for the next one. Keep them coming!
Long awaited and am definitely not disappointed. This was so good I can't wait to see what happened to Moira. Poor Dread, I hope she gets a beast back.
