Sophia Scarlet is a Maryland native. She lives with her husband, two children, and cat in the woods not far from the Potomac river. When she is not writing or shuttling her children around, you can find her practicing yoga, cooking, or picking seasonal vegetables at the local CSA.
Agnès Bright has forgotten she has a life to live since the death of her baby boy and the disintegration of her marriage. She feels nothing but numbness and desperately wants to move beyond it. She is convinced that pain and humiliation could help her heal her wounds. When she finds an ad placed by Marcus Stone, looking for a submissive, she feels she has found a way out of her emotional emptiness. As it happens, Agnès and Marcus share the same need for violent release with a trusted partner. But her encounter with Marcus’s friend, David, will trigger an intense emotional reaction. With him, she begins to feel again. She feels helpless but truly safe and alive. She is finally able to cry. David is the tender dominant she desperately needed.
Agnès and David fall hard for each other. But David feels vulnerable. He wants to move forward and convince her they belong together forever. Things get complicated when he discovers that Agnès hasn’t told him everything about her previous life. David didn’t know she was still married. And even if her divorce procedure is ongoing, he can’t accept it.
I loved how Agnès and David relationship progressed and grew in this story. Both will realize that what matters are true feelings, that a relationship is not perfect or simple and that honesty is key.
I enjoyed this edgy and unique story. It was heartbreaking at times, but also very tender and heartwarming. The author’s writing is very sensual and has an authentic feel. The characters are well-developped and likable. This book is a bundle of the three installments in the Absolution series, with a happy ending and perfect epilogue. I will definitely follow Sophia Scarlett in the future !
I received a copy of this book from the author, in exchange for an honest review.
Agnes Bright suffered a terrible tragedy with the loss of her infant son and her broken marriage. Amidst the heartbreak, she desperately needs an escape and badly wants to feel any emotion besides emptiness. Her next step to restoration is a giant leap of faith.
David Lake is a successful entrepreneur and approaches all things with verve and honesty. When he spots Agnes at the club, he is instantly drawn to her. During this one night, there are many powerful factors at play. Agnes is embarking into a world of the unknown and David is fiercely certain that he will be the victor of her affections in the long term.
As Agnes learns and tries to comprehend how her body reacts positively to physical pain, David relentlessly pursues her and offers a 24/7 two-month trial as Dominant and submissive. Despite her doubts and current state of instability, she accepts David’s offer because for the first time in her life, she feels safe and cherished. However, there are certain elements in Agnes’ life that need to be reconciled and the timing of David’s offer may be the impetus she needs, but how it will happen remains to be seen.
Break Me
The timeline continues as Agnes agrees to submit to David. While they are equals outside the bedroom or dungeon, Agnes places her full trust in David during this time. This trust is a big step for Agnes and symbolizes the beginning of her true progression toward moving forward. However, there is still a huge obstacle that Agnes must overcome to truly commit to David.
As their relationship grows stronger, David turns up the heat by commanding Agnes’ body in every way and let me just say, he is one hot Dom! David likes control and he gives Agnes exactly what she craves. The heat and attraction between them is palpable and how can she respond with anything but, “Yes, David!!”
While all seems to be going accordingly for David, the tension of Agnes’ secret is looming. Once she formalizes the decision to have an honest and loving future with David, she knows what she must do, but Agnes is too late as the unthinkable happens.
Bind me
After the devastating blow David and Agnes suffered at the end of Break Me, they must now pick up the pieces and determine their paths. In this final installment, Agnes proves she is a strong woman in so many ways. First, she finds closure with her soon to be ex-husband and the loss of their child by grieving together. For so long, Agnes was debilitated by guilt but she is no longer willing to accept that numb existence. Agnes’ next step is to fight for David and prove their bond is solid.
Even though Agnes is as determined as ever to move forward with David, he is absolutely crushed by Agnes’ betrayal. While David’s acumen and steadfast approach proves successful in business, he now realizes he may have acted in haste with his heart.
With the conclusion of the Absolution series, the journey for Agnes and David has come full circle. After surviving such a tragic loss, Agnes deserved to feel love and devotion again and with David’s big heart, there is no shortage of security and wholeness. This series explored a range of internal conflict and personal growth that allows the reader to experience loss, pain, adoration and some hot times at the Grotto. I am pleased with how the series ended.

Will everything change after David know everything about her lover ? Will Agnes will find her self again ? Will everything become fall apart for the second time for Agnes again?
If you want steamy, hot as hell and full of imagination kind of sex, this is the right story to read
I had the pleasure of reading each one of these books before they were released as an ARC reader/reviewer for Sophia Scarlet. I love that Sophia Scarlet has decided to release them as a complete series, now you don't have to wait to see what is going to happen after you're left with a cliffhanger.
I had added this to each of my individual reviews as a warning for anyone that does not want to read a book with cheating in it: I have to mention that although Agnes is going through a divorce she is still legally married and living with her soon to be ex-husband. While they live in the same house they have separate bedrooms and do not socialize with one another. I felt the need to mention this because there are many people that will not read a book when there is cheating involved and while I do not consider this cheating there are some that might.
My review for each of the individual books is as follows: Bend Me Agnes is going through a lot she not only lost her infant son but her husband wants a divorce because he blames her for their son's illness that cost him his life. Like loosing your child isn't hard enough? Anyway, Agnes decides to take a sparing class and somehow figures out that he can release the guilt that she is holding onto through pain, so she goes online and starts to find out about BDSM and more importantly S&M. Marcus and Agnes (aka Eliza) begin an online relationship and they are finally going to meet in a sex-club. Upon Eliza's arrival she sees David, and more importantly David sees her. David's first impression is that he wants her all for himself, when he finds out that she is there to meet Marcus he isn't happy. Break Me WOW what an ending...or should I say cliffhanger. I love David and I really like Agnes/Eliza but she is making some bad decisions in this book. While David is still looking to advance his relationship with Eliza she is putting off telling a very important reason on what is holding her back. I can totally sympathize with her in wanting to put things behind her and start over but you need to do that with a clear conscience and a clean slate. Which is NOT what Eliza is doing and you know when you keep secrets they come back to bite you in the ass at the worst possible time. Marcus has something good happen this book which is great because the way David and Eliza left him in the dust in Bend Me I really felt bad for him but things have a funny way of working out. We also get a peek at another side of Eve & James' relationship. Bind Me This was a good ending to the trilogy. After the way things ended in Break Me I really had mixed feelings on what would happen next. Would she go back to Jonathan and work on their marriage or would she finally force him to sign the divorce papers and hopefully work things out with David. I have to say that the way both Jonathan and David were with Agnes/Eliza was a normal reaction to each of their situations...Jonathan although he is the one that wanted to end his marriage with Agnes realized that he made a mistake and wanted to work things out with her, and David was so stark raving mad when he found out that Eliza was still legally married to her husband and that not only did she not tell him about it - she didn't tell him that they were still living together either, how could he get past something like that and ever trust her again. I am not going to spoil the ending you will just have to read it for yourself and find out if Agnes/Eliza did what you think she should have done. I loved the Epilogue. I often find that most authors give you the epilogue in the current year while I always hope to find out what happens with the characters down the line. This epilogue takes place five years down the line and it was great, it gave you closure not only to the main characters but also the secondary and tertiary characters as well. Well done Sophia Scarlet, I thank you for giving me the closure that I had hoped to get.
4.25 stars! I really enjoyed the Absolution series! This is a new to me author so all I really had to go by was the synopsis and after reading that, I was curious! I have to say that I liked the first book, Bend Me but I loved the second and third books, Break Me and Bind Me. The series is centered around Agnes/Eliza who is going through a divorce after her infant son dies from cancer. She seeks out a dom to see if a little go at that would be just what the doctor ordered. She is in pain and broken so she feels like that experience is what she needs in her life at the time. Her marriage is over and she's just getting by each day. She ends up meeting David through circumstance at a BDMS club and they both feel a strong connection. However, she made arrangements with David's friend Marcus as her dom. Once I was halfway through the first book, I couldn't stop reading. David offers Eliza a two month trial arrangement and she accepts. We get to see both characters grow but I especially enjoyed seeing Eliza learn to live again after what she's been through. I loved David from the start. He was ultra alpha in a mature way and he wanted to care for every aspect of Eliza's life. We learn that Eliza has a secret and although she had several opportunities to share it with David it never happens. Until it is brought to David's attention by someone else.
This was a hot as hell story! David and Eliza together was unbelievable... the reader can definitely feel the chemistry between these two characters. The BDSM aspect of the story was described in great detail and wasn't overdone at all. I felt that the story was unique yet real. The characters were well developed and there were even some secondary characters I loved reading about. The writing was easy to read, although it came off kind of proper. It took me a bit to get into my reading groove because of this, but I did and it didn't take away from the story.... just different for me. I would definitely like to read other books by this author.

BEND ME, BREAK ME, BIND ME (The Complete Absolution Series) by Sophia Scarlet I received this ARC from [Fifty Shades Support Group] in exchange for an honest review! HOT, HOT, HOT!!! I really loved reading this series, 3 books!!! Amazing story of Agnes/Eliza and David. Their chemistry was amazing/intense. They fit together perfectly. You new right from the start they had something special. It was an emotional roller coaster for me. A mother worst fears, then having to deal with the grief on your own. A nonexistence husband. Agnes “Eliza” trying to find yourself after the lost of a child. David, successful entrepreneur, not having love of his life, his other half. My heart was breaking then soaring. I’m so glad it ended the way it did. I can’t wait to read more from Sophia Scarlet.
Book received in exchange for an honest review. Possible spoiler alert. I have written review for each book, if you don't wish to find out further plots DO NOT continue with following reviews.
BOOK ONE - BEND ME
Wow, where do I start with this book. Well I'll start with fast paced, involved, drama, angst and heat... So much heat. Bend Me, is book one in the Absolution series and tells the story of Agnes Bright and David Lake, bought together through very different scenarios but a joint result.
Agnes, is struggling mourning the loss of her newborn son, and the subsequent loss of her marriage. Now needing something to help with the unbearable pain, she makes contact with a man through a BDSM club. On meeting Marcus Stone, she thinks she has found the man who can bring her back to life, she just never planned on David Lake, coming in and stealing Marcus' thunder.
David cannot believe his eyes when they set themselves on a stunning woman, looking lost at the Grotto the BDSM club he frequents. Quite literally he is taken by her, and then discovering she is there to meet and be with masochist Marcus, his instincts tell him to stop his friend and gain Eliza (aka Agnes ) for himself.
Unsure how to deal with two demanding men, she spends that night with both. And what a hot night that was... But Agnes must decide whether she wants Marcus and his cane wielding ways, or the intimate connection she shares with David. Choosing David should be easy, his affection is so sweet, yet his alpha male dominance shows the real man, but with him not knowing her true identity, her huge loss that drove her here, and the loss of her marriage all may be a lie.... Only the feelings between both of these characters are very true.
This was a quick read, only taking a few hours, but so fast paced, I was vigorously page turning to see what happened next.
BOOK 2 - BREAK ME
Wow, this series has truly sucked me right in. With a struggling start, I quickly have become obsessed with this story, and now I have a 3 week wait until release of Bind Me, the critical and gut wretching ending to David and Agnes (Eliza ) story. It cannot come soon enough for me, I'm more than ready to find out if their relationship that is based on so much trust can overcome the truth that reared its ugly head in that last paragraph of Break Me. It was totally a mouth open moment for me, one I knew would happen but denial over the love that is clear between David and Agnes.
It took one night for Agnes to litterally fall for David Lake. Now as their dom/sub relationship turns more than just physical but emotional charged her secrets regarding her personal life is still a mystery to David, and although she finally decides that a divorce from husband, Jonathan Bright his avoidance to her in general and his inability to just sign the paperwork. Leaving her 2 options - tell David the truth about still being legally married to a man that threw her away with the loss of their infant son or - continue to hide her marriage and when all is finalised, she will come clean to him about Jonathan, their son, and her real name, Agnes Bright.
David was taken by Eliza the 1st time he laid eyes on her and his knowing is that he wants forever with her. So with their BDSM relationship that feeds Eliza 's need for freedom, their feelings become very intense, almost to quickly but I guess that love at 1st sight thing is always possible. The presence both Eliza and David share, is so hot, dominant, yet sweet and comforting , it is something that is unusual I find in this type of genre. I normally find the dominant either a total douche bag, mean and nasty or hypocritical, and unforgiving. David has that "something " that attracts me to his character. Not only smart, successful, and H O T, but a real man. He wants everything with Eliza, so when the bomb is dropoed right at tte end of this book, is it over for good, has Eliza / Agnes lost her chance to comd clean about her fast, present and future? Or will David walk away, truly devistated. Csn Agnes be the woman that destroys him forever? God I hope not!
BOOK 3 - BIND ME
Well for those who know me, I don't give out 5 stars very often but Bind Me along with Bend and Break Me had me mesmerized and hooked. But without a doubt Bind Me is my favorite and deserving of every one of those stars.
With what was a cliffhanger or sorts ending in Break Me, I couldn't start this one fast enough, so with a late night last I was forced to finish it today and although my eyes are hanging out of my head right now, the sleep deprevation was worth it.
As the explosive truth to Eliza's secrets about her past are bought to the surface by her husband Jonathan, David cannot believe that his Eliza has been lying to him for all the time they shared together. David is angry and devistated but it is seeing Eliza / Agnes return to Jonathan that is the final nail in his coffin. Knowing he really wants his Eliza back he knows that the history they share is more than he can give. So he does the only thing he can - walks away!
But unbeknownst to him, Agnes is pushing through with the divorce to Jonathan, they must get over the final hurdle of visiting their sons grave. It is during this time that Ms Scarlett offered us a vision into Jonathan... The man who hated and disowned his own wife after the diagnosis of cancer to their newborn son. But we also saw the man who wants his wife back, to little, to late for Agnes. She knows the only man she wants, is the one won't even take her phone calls.
So comes the chase, Agnes turns to Eve, one of David's closest friends to get him to open to her again. David is the only man who lets her be the woman and sexual creature that yearns for his dominance. Eve,not afraid of anyone, telks David in no uncertain terms that Agnes is still well and truly in love with him, so his decision is made. He will fight for his Eliza.
Using all of his dominant powers, one dinner request at the Grotto, where everything turned so badly previously is the place where they rekindle their love. David and Agnes / Eliza begin the road to forgiveness and happy ever after.
Agnes has experienced some serious tragedy in the last year of her life. The loss of her infant child leads to the loss of her marriage (specifically her husband filing for divorce). She is angry, bitter, and experiencing enormous grief, but has not really been able to feel the emotions she knows are there. Agnes knows that it is time for her to find a way through her pain and try to start living again. She finds that experiencing physical pain helped her to connect to and release some of her emotional pain. This leads her into a BDSM community where she meets David Lake. David is a successful and sexy man who finds himself attracted to Agnes/Eliza quickly and in a way that doesn't make sense to him. He just knows that he wants her and is going to try hard to claim her.
This is a quick sexy read. Agnes/Eliza is a character who is easy to sympathize with and root for. She has been through a lot and it seems she has found a way to start moving forward. The connection between Agnes/Eliza and David is strong and their sexual chemistry is intense. The sexual connection is easy to see, but the element of insta-attraction makes it difficult to know whether this relationship has the potential to turn into anything beyond the temporary sexual and pain-fix Agnes/Eliza needs. When this installment ends, we are left wanting more, and I am eagerly anticipating the next in the series. 4 stars
Break Me
Eliza/Agnes has begun the two month trial period of her relationship with David. The chemistry they shared only intensifies, and it becomes more clear to Eliza that David is the person she wants to be with. She signs her divorce papers, and is anxiously waiting for her husband to do the same so that she can finally move on. She is waiting for the divorce to go through before she tells David the entire story of her name and marital status. Her husband is no where to be found. He makes sure not to run into Agnes when she is home, and while he hasn't spoken to her in months, and was the person who wanted the divorce, he isn't signing the papers. Eliza is about to tell David the whole truth when something happens that could make the whole situation even more challenging.
This book just solidifies that fact that David and Eliza are a great match for one another. They have a great connection and really care about one another. It is tough to see Eliza struggle so hard to deal with a husband who has treated her with only hostility since the death of their son, and parents who seem not to care about her well being at all. It is also difficult to see her struggling so hard to tell David the whole truth, while allowing herself the love and attention she deserves. It is clear that David is all-in with Eliza and is doing everything he can to make their relationship more permanent. It was frustrating for me to want Eliza to just open up already and let him know the whole deal up front. This is one of those situations where as the reader, you see the character making well-intended choices that you just know are going to blow up somehow, but there is nothing you can do about it. This installment ends at a really intriguing point of the story, so I will be eagerly anticipating the next in the series to see how everything turns out. I'll also be crossing my fingers for David and Eliza! 3.5 stars.
Bind Me
David has just found out the truth about Eliza (Agnes), although he found out in a pretty terrible way. Agnes would have preferred to take care of everything and reveal the information to David in a different way, but there is no denying that it needed to happen. There is a lot of angst, hurt, and confusion as David tries to figure out if what he and Eliza has was real. Agnes hopes that she can help David understand that she has never lied to him about her feelings or intentions, and also that he will forgive her.
This is the third and final installment in this series, and the other two books should definitely be read before this one. I already cared about both David and Agnes, so this was tough because both characters were hurting and struggling. I was really hoping that they would find their way through this and be able to return to their relationship on more solid footing. Agnes has been through a lot and I found it rewarding to see her really work through and get some closure on experiences she has gone through. Even though it was tough, I liked seeing both David and Agnes take a close look at their feelings and really evaluate what was important to them. I found this a very satisfying conclusion to a series that I enjoyed.
*ARCs of the books in this series were provided in exchange for an honest review
Each of the 3 individual installments reviewed separately below....
BEND ME (ABSOLUTION #1) Agnes, "Eliza" just lost her 4 month old baby AND her husband wants a divorce too. Desperate to feel again, she gets online to seek out a Dom, leading her to Marcus. On the night she goes to meet Marcus for the first time, she has an unplanned meeting with Marcus' close friend David whom she has an unbelievably strong connection with. The way David feels for her is even stronger though; so strong that David asks Marcus to let Eliza choose whether she wants to spend her night w Marcus as planned or take an unplanned detour and spend it with David. What begins appearing to be a predictable tale of BDSM quickly becomes much more!
Although the storyline was quite fantastical and unlikely, there was something about BEND ME that had me very intrigued. I liked the danger and sexiness of this fantasy come to life story. For example, I found myself wondering if places like, "The Grotto" exist (a place where absolutely any fantasy can and does come true)! The only reason I didn't give BEND ME 5 stars is because the editing could've been better. ---------------------------------- BREAK ME (ABSOLUTION #2) When this second installment begins, David knows that Eliza lost her son 6 months ago and that she likes to be dominated but that's it – he doesn't even know what her real name is!! Despite knowing very, very, very little about her, David is certain that he is meant to be with her forever and, "Eliza" feels just as strongly for him, I agreeing to be in a committed relationship with David for a minimum of two months.
Like BEND ME, BREAK ME is still fairytale-esque with Agnes and David deciding they're basically in love after meeting just 24 hours prior. Eliza is consumed by her lies of omission now though, wallowing in self-loathing that I felt was excessive. The fact that Eliza is still legally married and uses her middle name instead of her first IMO don't make for a very powerful or plausible premise. I think Ms. Scarlett could've and should've come up with something more creative.
This second installment is just as sexy as the first yet I now found myself skimming through what I found to be excessively lengthy sex scenes. I also hated the terms of endearment the characters called one another, feeling that, "Eliza, dear" and "darling" seemed old-fashioned and pretentious for this young couple. In addition, I continued to find editing errors. ----------------------------------- BIND ME (ABSOLUTION #3) I was impressed by the way Ms. Scarlet tied up all of the loose ends in this final installment; I appreciated the way things end between Jonathan and Agnes/Eliza and how things ultimately concluded between Agnes/Eliza and David. Unfortunately though, I again couldn't help but skim through the lengthy sex scenes. Overall, I felt that Ms. Scarlet was excessively wordy in other scenes too. The premise and storyline are good yet I think this trilogy would be improved if it were edited by someone with a critical eye and isn't afraid to delete!
Having read review copies of each part of this trilogy and enjoyed them tremendously, I'm excited that it's been released as a single book. Agnes and David's story was always really one piece, it seemed to me, so it's best enjoyed as such.
There are a lot of great things about this series that I've touched upon in my reviews of the individual books, but here's a quick summary:
1) Agnes is a compelling, complex character who breaks so many stereotypes about romance heroines while still being true to the spirit of the heroine's journey towards empowerment, redemption, and, of course, true love. She's lost her only child, her marriage has fallen apart as a result, and she blames herself. Furthermore, she has problems with her overbearing, snobby parents. Her discovery of BDSM and her relationship with David is what pushes her onto the path towards forgiveness, reconciliation, and healing. She's an intelligent, educated, and articulate woman who experiences her relationship as empowering and is able to connect it to her feminism (and how nice it is to encounter the "F" word in a romance in a positive light!).
2) The presence of multiracial characters and mixed-race relationships adds another welcome level of depth to the story. Too often it seems to me in my reading that stories about romance and about race are pushed into separate genre boxes (something I've also read other authors complain about); here they intermingle in a natural and compelling fashion.
3) This is an intense love story with some very hot sex! Which is why we read these kinds of books, right? ;)
This is the story of David, a workaholic Dom who is kinda looking for that special someone and Agnes, a woman who lost her child and her husband which tore her world apart. It is also the story of Eliza, a woman trying to put the pieces of her life back together and learn what she not only needs in life but can't live without.
When David and Eliza meet the attraction is instantaneous and combustible, however, truths are ignored and needs are overlooked until both David and Agnes learn that what they need is what the can't live without.
A wonderful trilogy with massive amounts of heat, lots of soul searching, explorations of pain and pleasure, and a happily ever after that is both realistic and genuine.
My Rating System: * couldn't finish, ** wouldn't recommend, *** would recommend, **** would read again, ***** have read again.
I read this story as a series and the author has now but the series all together in one book.
What I can tell you about this author is that she writes out of the box. She pulls you into the story right away.
Agnes has experienced a loss that no mother should ever have to experience. She blames herself and is unable to grieve. So as a way of punishing herself and coming to terms with her loss she looks for a way that she can really experience the depth of that loss. Her loss is two fold she lost her son and is losing her husband too. She decided to explore the world of masochism to see if this will ease her pain. She meets two men Marcus (who reminds her of her husband Jonathan) and David. With the help of these two men she starts the journey of dealing with her loss. Only the story get even more complicated at this point.
Agnes has not been honest with any of the men in her life about what she is doing and how she is feeling and ultimately this could come back and destroy her.
(3.75 stars) Unlike a lot of other stories out there, The Absolution Series deals with more mature subject matter. By saying that I mean even though the series features a successful, sexy, domineering, dirty talking man , it also deals with some heavy issues. Also, Agnes is a grown woman and acts as such. She knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to speak up for herself. Agnes “Eliza” tries to find herself after a devastating loss and life changing event. Once she realizes she wants to enter a D/s relationship she starts an online profile and gets more than what she bargains for when two men catch her eye. I’m glad certain aspects of the story turned out different than I expected. But in the end secrets and lies always surface and threaten to ruin lives. Bind me was a strong ending and I wouldn’t mind if Marcus got his own book
*I received this series in exchange an honest review* I am so happy that the three books were put together in one bundle!!!! Simply because it was torture to wait for the next one everytime!!!! Completely addictive the "Absolution Series" (Bend me, Break me and Bind Me) is just an amazing read!!! Very well written, with an extremely interesting story, a quick flow that will enthrall you from the get go and sexy/sweet characters you will love it!!! Suitable to all contemporary/erotica/bdsm romance readers, with its light but psychologically related and far from vulgar few bdsm scenes, it can be an eye opener on the attraction of such practices! An emotional rollercoaster filled with thrilling twists and sizzling chemistry, Agnes/Eliza and David's story is a wonderful, wonderful one!!!! I can't wait to see what this talented author has in store for us next!!!! A must read!!!
This is a very good book that explores 2 people entering into a deep BDSM relationship. Eliza is in emotional agony and discovers that physical pain can relieve her turmoil, and the orgasms are pretty good too! She is guided by an experienced Dom as they explore her needs and desires, including the differences between various implements of flagellation (the hand is best!), public display, and after-care. Some books have a "textbook" feel to them, but this does not. The sex scenes are hot, but could have been longer.
The challenging moment in the series is well broadcast, and the angst is only slightly overblown, with a solid resolution. The secondary characters are clever and useful. Each could get their own book, but I don't think that is the author's intent.
I would not read these separately, as it is really one story, and the break between book 2 and 3 is abrupt.
ARC provided to me by author Sophia Scarlet in exchange for an honest review. I've read the books separately and I love that they are now bundled! The separate books ended cliffhanger-ish and I didn't like that I had to wait for the next release. Especially now that it is just one book, I'd say: just read it... it's an amazing and beautiful love story. David and Eliza/Agnes are a perfect fit! David is the perfect man! I'd 'kill' to have someone take care of me like David takes care of Eliza! I definitely enjoyed reading their story. And the sex scenes? Ab-so-lutely hawt!! David is also perfect in that department! I just loved this book!!
Received all 3 books for honest review: Book 1 - Was a short read, easily read characters described storyline easy to read although I would have liked to have read more of Jonathan. Book 2, glad Eliza/Agnes and David together characters good together. Not surprised things went off path reasons on both sides which will come to light more in next book. Book 3, here we loose characters james/Eve for a while which is a pity I quite liked the. As for all 3 books good read and good write look forward to reading more books by this writer.
I received this from the author in exchange for my honest review. This was a great series. The middle did drag on a little so I found myself skimming over some scenes. This series is long! The book changed gears around 70% in and flowed nicely from there. I loved it from that point on. Great ending and epilogue which made up for the long haul needed to get to it. David and Eliza's relationship is intense! The scenes between them are scorching hot! Overall, this was an enjoyable read!
Hello! omgosh! the Break Me was so good. Eliza and David so in perfect harmony. I am just so sad that I finished the trilogy. There were twists and turns, happiness, pure love. And oh my Word! David is a dream guy. I would be volunteering to be bound and spanked at his hand any day or night! Excellent book and I love the ending. I would've loved a little more of their love story. It was so good I was just sad that I finished. A definite must read!!!!
I loved writing this series and I'm thrilled to offer it in one volume to be read as a standalone. Agnes and David’s story is very special to me and I am so grateful to each and every person who had read it and shared in their journey. Thank you!
Really enjoyable read, kept my interest all the way through and an added bonus to read altogether, no waiting for the next one. Difficult to review fully without giving the plot away, but story had everything good plot and characters. Sophia's future works will definitely be on my to read list x
*I got this book in exchange of an honest review* I really enjoyed this book! A story about a soon to be divorced wife wanting to explore herself and her sexuality! It was very different and very exciting to read! I totally love it!! ☺
Full Disclosure: BDSM is not my thing, but I have heard good things about this story and of Sophia Scarlet from other readers so I decided to venture out of my comfort zone and try something new. I don’t regret the decision. This was a very well-written story with deep, complicated and likable characters. Honestly, all of the characters in this book are likable - and that is something that rarely happens for me. Agnes/Eliza touched me. She had been through an awful experience but came out the other side of it a much stronger woman, and David had a lot to do with it. He’s a good man. A strong man. A caring man. Someone you can lean on and depend on. Incredibly dominant as well, lol.
For those who enjoy BDSM, the sex scenes were described in great detail. Unfortunately since I don’t care for this type of sensuality, I found myself skimming those scenes, but I think that for those who find these encounters alluring, they would really enjoy them.
All in all, I really enjoyed reading this story and I think Sophia Scarlet is a talented writer and storyteller. I would definitely read another one of her books!
Totally fell in love with the characters. The story just kept me wanting to read more and more. It made me feel what they were feeling emotionally. I loved this series and definitely recommend it!

I absolutely fell in love with this book and the premise behind it. What would you do to be forgiven? To forget the horror of something so awful that you can't wrap you mind around something actually happening to you? To grieve a loss so painful that life seems so unbearable? This poor woman has lost everything she holds dear, her son, who is sentenced to death right after birth from a congenital defect, and her husband, who turns off and leaves her to deal with this all on her own down to the burial six months later. He files for divorce to end their marriage in a way to end this chapter of his life forgetting her heartbreak. Agnes is numb without a way to channel her grief and anger. Enter her overbearing parents, a biracial couple who know nothing about their daughter or of her struggles, past or present, and try to control her life once more. Eliza is born as a way to free herself from her grief after she meets Marcus and David and they allow her the freedom to show some emotion. She becomes so involved in this release and falls for David that she soon realizes she needs to get Jeff to sign the papers and also realizes the haven't seen each other in weeks even though they live in the same townhouse. Davis is becoming more possessive, Eliza more needy and everything more complicated. You know things are going to happen and the anxiety builds to a crescendo. This book is a compilation of the three singles and I must say, rereading them together was such a great read for me. I really dislike cliffhangers and waiting for the next book was so hard! I really loved this series, it brought home the possibilities that good things can happen after tragedies. You can be okay after a loss. You can break away from a bad marriage, a not so great parent, etc. Life moves on and that's okay too. I look forward to more from Sophia Scarlett!

3.5 stars
Sophia Scarlet has written a beautiful trilogy about a heartbroken woman dealing with traumatic loss and a passionate man willing to do anything to heal her and claim her as his own.
David Lane is a gorgeous alpha who - surprisingly - isn't afraid of emotional connection and, in fact, craves it. In return for her affection he is willing to "give her everything I have and everything I am." *cue swoon*
I loved that the conflict was realistic and well-dealt with by both the H and h. The sex scenes were steamy, which is just how I like them, but they dominated too much of the narrative. I think good love scenes are essential to a romance but there wasn't enough detail in their 'every day' interactions and how they got along as partners.
Other than that teeny qualifier, Sophia Scarlet has written a romance series that I would happily recommend to any fan of BDSM and erotic romance!
I really loved this series especially because it’s told from two POVs. I really enjoyed the writing and was hooked from the beginning to the end of this story.
The Story: Agnes Bright lost her Baby as a result of a disease. Her marriage is shattered and so is Agnes. Feeling empty for too long she seeks pain to stop the numbness in her life. Stumbling across two handsome men (Marcus and David), she soon finds herself in a new world Agnes is eager to explore. Especially David Lake pulls all the right strings on her and Agnes gets to experience things she never did before.
My thoughts: This was a hot read! Oh my. I really liked those two men fighting for one woman. Which woman doesn’t want that? And the sex scenes were scorching hot. I normally don’t like different POVs but in this case I really enjoyed it because it gave so much more perspective.

I'm a Sophia Scarlet fan. I love reading her clean and defining prose. In this series, Scarlet immerses her readers into the lives of Agnes (Eliza), David, and their friends. She cradles you in their love, shakes you up in their anguish, and wraps you inside all their beautiful resolutions. I'm new to this genre. The "shades of grey" was my first--, ugh. But this author gets it right. Scarlet's 3-book series, now a compilation, was the perfect and classy introduction for me into the erotic genre. It's hot! Not only that, Bend Break Bind Me is intelligent, compassionate, as well as sexy. I truly couldn't turn the pages fast enough, especially in Book 3. I recommend this complete set. It's a winner!
