New York Times bestselling author Thomas Greanias delivers a soaring techno-thriller that 2016 news headlines warn is becoming more believable by the day…presidential candidates who don’t know what America’s nuclear triad is…an aging and increasingly forgotten arsenal of weapons still capable of destroying every major city on Earth…morale problems as generals are replaced…cheating scandals among the young launch officers who hold the actual keys to Armageddon. Brad Marshall is a brilliant Air Force general and popular war hero. Too popular for his own good. The president has reassigned his potential rival to the command of a doomsday plane that officially doesn’t exist, flying endless circles over nuclear missiles in the heartland that nobody at the Pentagon believes will ever be launched. Then a catastrophic attack on Washington destroys the Pentagon and kills the President and the next fifteen Cabinet members in the line of succession. Now Marshall controls America’s nuclear arsenal, and only one woman—Deborah Sachs, the low-level Secretary of Education and new President-Designate—stands in his way. Originally a Hollywood “big buck spec script” (Variety) almost too incredible to be believed, The War Cloud has spawned scores of imitators in film and television, and has prompted the White House, Congress and Pentagon to take another hard look at America’s “Doomsday protocols” and what heroine Deborah Sachs the invisible “fourth leg” of the nuclear triad...leadership.
No. 1 Amazon, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of seven international thrillers, including Raising Atlantis, The Atlantis Prophecy, The Atlantis Revelation, The Promised War, The 34th Degree, The War Cloud and The Chiron Confession.
Fantastic Fiction: "From New York Times bestselling novelist Thomas Greanias, the No. 1 bestselling author ... comes a mega blockbuster engineered for maximum enjoyment ..." A "mega blockbuster"? What were they thinking? I listened to this book today and despite almost pressing the stop button a number of times, I suffered it to the bitter end. It was appalling. An incredible plot, with incredible characters, incredibly poorly written. Barely worth half a star.
War Cloud was a roller coasted ride right out of the gates. I could not put this book down. It had just the right amount of political intrigue mixed in with top notch technological issues to really make me think. Thomas Greanias' leading character Deborah Sach is the next generation of a strong kick a## female. War Cloud reads like Tom Clancy meets 24. Thomas Greanias has done it again.
