War Bringer

Rate this book
The Covert Operative…
Kelan Shiozski wasn’t looking for a girlfriend or a wife or any other sort of female in his life, but he found her hiding in his enemy's home...and he knew instantly she was his soul mate.

Patience has long been part of his warrior ethos—until it meant waiting for his woman to come of age. Now that time is here, and he’s about to spend three days alone with her, away from his team, away from their mission tracking a homegrown terrorist group operating out of the Rocky Mountains. He has three days to show her, with his heart and his body, what it means to be his other half.

But when she’s kidnapped before their celebratory weekend, Kelan must track her into the dark depths of a hidden crime world, which few ever experience or exit alive.

…And the Innocent
At just twenty-one, Fiona Addison has lived a sheltered life that began unraveling a year earlier when her mom and her friend died in two separate car accidents the same week. The layers are peeling away, revealing who she really is, culminating in a truth she cannot accept.

And now, everything she learns about herself imperils the future she hoped to have with Kelan, a man whose fierce warrior nature will not let her go despite the cost to himself.

They’ll either live together or die together...a fate they cannot let be decided by a madman.

"Elaine Levine is a wonderfully fresh and original voice in western romance.
RACHEL AND THE HIRED GUN is full of fast-paced action and powerful emotions. I loved it!"
-- Joan Johnston, New York Times bestselling author of A STRANGER'S GAME

"A pair of appealing, well-matched protagonists (with a bit of a history), a slimy villain, well-drawn secondary characters, and plenty of action make this rough-and-ready Western one that fans are sure to enjoy."
--Library Journal on AUDREY AND THE MAVERICK

"A beautiful romance…keeps the reader hooked from the first page to the last.” -New York Times Bestselling Author Catherine Anderson about LEAH AND THE BOUNTY HUNTER

Though this is the third book of a romance trilogy, the story stands quite well on its own. Elaine Levine gives us a multi-level story about trust and being able to overcome personal fears to achieve a goal. Set in the post-Civil War era, Leah and the Bounty Hunter gives us a window into the rough-and-tumble lives of our settler-forefathers and what they did to succeed against lawlessness and the incredible challenges to settle the old West. An enjoyable read, recommended. --Monica E. Spence, Historical Novels Review on LEAH AND THE BOUNTY HUNTER

ABOUT ELAINE:

Elaine Levine is an agoraphobic who lives in her son’s basement and runs doggie daycare for his pack of hounds. Her mind, however, is irrepressible, and she fills the endless moments of endless days crafting romance fiction from dystopian headlines she reads online. Be warned—her stories are addictive and dangerously appealing to those with similarly twisted minds and hopeful hearts.

Another action packed edition to the Red Team series. I wondered how Kelan’s book would be as he is a bit mystical in his ancestral beliefs, but it gave him a different depth that I ended up liking. My only other comment would be that the antagonist seems to be getting more and more convoluted. Is that a good thing or a bad? Time will tell. That being said, this was a fast paced, action packed ride, sprinkled with steamy romance that compelled me to read it in one sitting. I can’t wait for the next one.

The binding ceremony was gorgeous and I would love to see that performed on the big screen. The cliffhanger ending for the ongoing story arc....frustrating and made Fee and Kelian's HEA feel incomplete.

I can't think of a single thing to say about this book that isn't a huge spoiler other than READ IT. Tons of new information and connections and yet so many new questions. So glad we won't have to wait too terribly long for the next one!

Elaine Levine is amazing. Warbringer is an amazing, beautiful, heart wrenching and twisted read. The characters are wonderful and complex and simple in their ultimate goal. The relationships are beautiful. Kelan and Fee are beautiful together. It was great to see more of Angel. Rococo and his battle is gut wrenching. Beyond all that the twists and turns and action keep you on the edge of your seat. I read this book on one sitting. Housework be damned. This has left me a massive book hangover. Highly recommend this and the wholes series.

This is Elaine Levines best book yet!! This is the 6th book of the Red Team series.

Fiona Addison has been staying with the Red Team since her step dad died helping the terrorists. Kelan is one of the RT guys and has taken her under his wing since they first met in book 1.
In this book, we find out who her Biological dad is. We also find out who the terrorists are and more about what they want. When all hell breaks loose, can Kelan save the love of his life??

This book is a fast paced, action packed, work of genius!! I couldn't put it down!!

These books just keep getting more depressing. Terrible things happen, they rescue one person, only to have the book end on a cliff-hanger. I do NOT approve. Romance books should end happily, even if the overall series arc hasn't been resolved yet. You don't have to ruin it all at the end of the book. Save the bad news for the start of the next one. Let people enjoy the supposed happy ending.

I revisited another favourite story of the Red Team series.

I waited with anticipation for Kelan & Fiona's book to be released. They were a couple that I loved right from their first encounter and their love story is so sweet and steeped in Lakota tradition. I was fascinated by the traditions Kelan honoured.
Mixed up in their love story is the swirling turmoil of events & people that continue to threaten and endanger the whole Red Team and their women.
Another great read, this series should be read in sequence.

It feels like i waited forever for Kelan & Fiona's book. Kelan, like the rest of the Red Team men, is a warrior who will fight for what he believes & to protect what's his, but he is unique because of his heritage. He is a man of deep beliefs, he is strong, determined, fierce, loyal, steadfast in his beliefs, but most of all he is a warrior of the heart. He loves with all his soul and that love is so deep and intense that when we reached the climax of the last book in the series, i just knew he was going to `bring it' to the enemy. Like the warrior that he is he leaves a trail of dead bodies in his wake & manages to put a spoke in King' plan for good measure. Fee is young & sweet and very much in love with Kelan. When i found out who she was i admit i gasped in shock, and then to discover all the other revelations on top of that made my head spin. The Red Team seem to be unravelling secrets on top of secrets & because i don't want to give anything away, all i will say is i have a feeling there are going to be some shock revelations coming up. I'm also left with the impression that not everyone is who we think they are.
Fiona & Kelan are soul mates that belong together & there was one scene in particular that showed the true depth of their feelings (it's the one in the garage), it made my heart ache and my pulse race, it was that intense. I want more and i can't wait for the next book, i need to know what happens next! Come on Elaine, hurry up i'm dying of anticipation.

War Bringer is the complex new installment in the Red Team series. Fiona Addison and Kelan Shiozski are soulmates by his Icelandic and Lacota beliefs, but before they could celebrate their union a mad man of unimaginable power is set to destroy them and use them as pawns for his deplorable game.
Mrs. Levine did a magnificent job revealing two of the most beloved characters in the series through an unstoppable action pack and heartwarming story. In addition, many pieces of the big picture started to click together shaping, and reshaping the truth in the story. It was fascinating to see many of the characters from previous books confronting their demons as well as the new possibilities for romance. It was a delightful romance as well as on the edge suspense.
I am looking forward to reading the next installment in the series.

I almost couldn't read this one because of the suspense. Fiona has been abducted and Kelan and the team rush to save her. That's the plot, but oh - there is so much more happening now. Rocco is spiraling down into his depression, Mandy is despairing of ever being able to help him, Ty finds another key to the mystery of the group behind the scenes of King and the WKB; Val is inexplicably drawn to Ace while ignoring all the caution signals around her; Lion and the boys are still missing.

More and more things are being discovered, but more and more mysteries and problems arise. Can't wait for the next one, which appears to be the saga of Angel and Wynn. BTW, Zavi just becomes more and more adorable, which leads to some unpleasant speculation about the future.

AWESOMENESS

I am once again reminded why I not only love this series but Elaine Levine as well......such an awesome storyteller. I've waited a long time for Kelan and Fiona's story, I was not disappointed. I've read all the books in this series and as individual as each of them are, you still see the previous characters. The twists and turns, the heartbreak you feel for Fiona and Kelan is written so well and just draws you in from page one. I will definitely be encouraging others to read this book and series

This was another great book in this series, not only did it provide Kelan and Fiona's story, it provided an update on the situation with all the other guys in the series and the situation. For me it ended too soon and I was expecting Kelan and Fiona to be attacked again in the end, but fortunately this did not happen. The ending is brilliant with the new teacher being caught up in the web.....what will she do? Also what is the significant of the Butterfly on Ace's back, which convenient Owen does not yet know about? Looking forward to the next installment!

OMG (I know cliche) I love this series, and found this next installment by accident. Wow Elaine Levine doesn't disappoint, within seconds the reader is right back amongst the story, picking up from the end of the previous book, (I 're-read the end to remind myself but didn't need too) Fiona has been taken, the war on evil continues. This is fast paced, intense, action packed, warm, romantic, (yep even in the midst of all the fighting) and a seriously amazing read. Treat yourself rob the series it's worth every penny, and settle in for the journey with red team you'll enjoy the ride!

Oh my god, I freaking love Kelan. So happy he and Fiona got their story. He is one bad dude. Never saw Fiona's connection coming, but it was perfect. Kelan loves Fiona, she is his other half. He is the perfect alpha male to her sweet innocence. His love for her and willingness to die for her is a love only dreamt of. Ends on a cliffhanger (which is awesome btw). Looks like Angel may be up next. Can't wait for more Red Team Ms. Levine

Stepped out of reality into a twisted fairy tale...

Out of all the titles in this series, this is the one I was looking forward to the most. Kelan Shiozski is one of the most diverse characters in this series and it is quite interesting to add a bit of a twist to the same storyline and plot that plagues this series.

Kelan and Fiona Addison met earlier on in this series and Kelan has been playing the waiting game for Fiona to come of age before pursuing a relationship with her. So far, Kelan seems to be the most "normal" or well adjusted one in this group of mercenaries and it is refreshing! So since he's not the one with the brokenness, that leaves Fee...

As fate would have it, Fee's twenty-first birthday has finally arrived and the unthinkable happens when Fee is abducted--although not by the usual culprits, the WKB. A new faction has reared its head for the Red Team. Kelan vows to get Fee back and has told the team to "Follow the bodies" when asked how are they going to know where he went. This one has a high body count as Kelan almost single-handedly takes on the threat alone. King is up to his usual tricks and deception but has taken it to a whole new level of "weird".

What I like about this story is that the underlying message is that yes, you can choose your family. Though not the traditional blood-related family, everyone at the ranch has become a valued family member no matter how flawed. They are a ride or die group of people. Everyone in that house is willing to take a bullet for anyone at any time.

What gave me pause when they met and even now, Fee's age of twenty-one and Kelan's thirty-four. As strong a warrior as Kelan is, he's attracted to for all intents and purposes, a child. Disturbing, but okay, I'll roll with it for now. Kelan does realize that although "he'd lived thirty-four years, only now did he feel he was becoming a man". I guess Levin throws this in to justify the age gap. Who knows?!

Overall, another formidable tale in the series. New characters Wynn Ratcliff, Zavi and Casey's teacher, and the mysterious Ace Meyers, Ivy's new employee, give Angel and Val something to look forward to but one of them is not what she seems and the other is compromised.

A complex story originating with the characters ancestors many generations ago, something that may have started as reasonably harmless but over time has escalated into a sense of madness. Kelan and the team have been tracking and investigating this for quite a while but not getting very far, now though with his joining with Fiona events start to take on more urgency.
Intense and dramatic, mysterious and powerful this story has no bounds. Scary and a bit upsetting in places, you can feel the despondency that a few of these characters are dealing with. This isn't a one book story, you do need to read them all and in order or the main focus of the series wont make sense. Though each book tends to focus more on one couple all the others are a big part and their own stories still continue on throughout. It is confusing and twisted so not to start at the beginning you would miss vital intelligence and how it all starts fitting together.
The level of imagination in writing this series is astounding, all the twists and turns and keeping it not only in context but moving on just enough through each book is not an easy thing to do. So often authors end up rushing and in the end missing a lot of opportunities to make a book not just good but amazing, often spoiling the story for us readers, Elaine has managed to keep herself rained in just giving us enough in each section to make us want to pick up the next book and the one after that. Well Done!

This is a review for War Bringer by Elaine Levine I waited and waited for this book and it was definitely worth the wait. It is the story of Fiona and Kelan. In previous books in this series we got to see them meet and there relationship grow. This book is finally where we get there story. Kelan is a warrior and he wasn't looking for a soul mate but he found one in Fiona. Kelan being honorable wants to wait until Fiona is 21 to claim her as his. When she turns 21 he plans a 3 day weekend for them to spend together but before they get there weekend she is Kidnapped and Kelan with the help of the Red team will do anything to recur her. It's a great story I loved it the only thing I wish is that it was longer other then that it was good to go back and see other characters relationships and find out Fiona and Kelans story. I read this book in one day and I can't wait for the next one I would recommend this book.

This is one of the books I was waiting for. it didn't disappoint although it did go into areas I didn't see happening. At the start our hero and heroine, which we know from the other books, are going to finally be together. However, as overprotective the hero is, for some reason he didn't do what I expected and that was to escort the heroine back to the headquarters. Letting her drive alone and you knew something was going to happen.

From here the plot twists and turns like hell and into places I didn't see coming. It made you sit up and want to cheer for the couple. However the main bad guy s finally learned about more and just abut about how sick he is. It's a page turner and I didn't want to put it down. .

I absolutely loved Kelan and Fiona's story!!! So beautiful, so many feels!!! I loved the way Kelan's heritage was woven into the story and the way that Fiona honored that heritage! My heart broke several times for Fiona but I think Kelan is exactly what she needs to bring her into her own!

And that ending, OH MY!!!

What an emotional roller coaster this book was for me. HOLY COW...I don't know that I have ever wanted to hurt a fictional character more than I wanted to hurt King. At first I thought I know who it was but I am not even sure that we have actually "met" him yet. What a wicked wicked brain this author has.

Bring it on.....

Kelan and Fee are my favorite couple, he is so patient with her but he doesn't let her get away with anything either if she would be in danger. The chemistry with those two gave me a hot flash! Wow. I stepped away from the series for awhile but now I need to finish this. I do have to go back and read Greer & Remi next, then I can continue ......
