Sexy in NYC #3

How to Get Lucky

Rate this book
Sometimes there is more than one way to get lucky…

Allison Parker knows winning the New York state lottery is impossible for a retail slave and fashion designer wanna-be who doesn’t, uh, play the lottery. But after a particularly bad day at work and a random prediction from a quirky psychic, she does just that, and wins. Money. Lots of it.

So what does any sane woman do? She tells off her boss, quits her job, breaks the lease on her apartment, buys a round at the bar, and takes the dare to make out with the hottest guy in the room.

Marco Lucky is exhausted and over his bandmates and their diva antics. The drugs, the tantrums, are all so juvenile and self-destructive he finds himself looking for an escape. Yet finding a quiet spot in New York City is damn near impossible and he’s already tired of the women hitting on him strictly because he’s famous. But then the crazy brunette with the winning lottery ticket kisses him and he finds himself impulsively taking her home.

It’s been years since he felt chemistry that intense and her snarky wit makes him laugh. When morning rolls around he knows it can’t be anything more than one night given that he’s headed out on tour soon, but when Allison realizes her winning ticket is gone he’s pretty damn sure it’s his fault.

Allison figures it’s only fitting that she be the first woman in the history of ever to hit the lottery and score a smoking hot rock star all in one night, only to wake up with her entire life destroyed a mere eighteen hours later. Marco’s offer of help makes her feel like the biggest lame ass loser, and she can’t get away from him fast enough.

But when the Worst Day Ever comes to an end, will Marco and Allison be ready to put the issue of money to bed? Because being lucky in love just might be hitting the jackpot after all…

Sweet, sexy and a little silly too! How to Get Lucky was a blast as rock god Marco finally meets his match in a sass-ily sarcastic New Yorker who's...less than enamored with his musical, erm, charms.

The quick of it is that during a night out with friends Allison catches Marco's eye. Not because she's fawning over him and his fame or musical talents but exactly the opposite. Chickie is not impressed with his fame and the gaggle of women following him around and can't quite keep her mouth shut about it. And damn if he can help it but he's...totally captivated and can't resist meeting her sarcastic jabs with a bit of teasing of his own which leads to all kinds of confusing and fun things for both of them when he can't find it in him to stay away.

Marco and Allison. I loved them. Allison's sarcastic, mouthy, has a penchant for 90s slang and really has no filter but manages to be cheeky instead of bitchy. Hallelujah! And Marco. Sexy, talented, and a man who is doing his best to be a better person than he used to be. They were great characters. Flawed but likable and just fun together.

I really loved the romance too. Things move quickly but somehow it didn't feel that way. They liked to poke at each other and there was a lot of sarcasm and teasing and it was just fun watching the two interact and get to know each other over a few days and broke down some first impressions. And, whew boy! When they do heat up...very yummy and intense.

There's a lot of fun and some silly humor but there's also a serious side and I kind of loved that even more. Maybe because I could relate to some of what they were feeling. I don't know. Regardless it touched me seeing these two go through the harder feelings as well. They'd both had rather large Come to Jesus moments that they were coming to grips with. Had made mistakes--some major ones--in their lives but they were trying to figure out a way to make up for them and be better people. I really loved that connection between them. Their issues were different, the moment it hit them a year apart, but the process and realizations they went through were so similar in ways and it really made their connection to each other feel even stronger. It was just a nice counter to the lighter parts.

All in all, I'm grinning just a bit and even more smitten with McCarthy. She never fails to bring fun, sexy romances to life with characters you can't help but adore. It's been a crazy long time waiting for How to Get Lucky (10 years I think!) but it was worth the wait and so fun to meet up with this crew for just a little while. Bring on the next! I can't wait!

In this 3rd book of the Sexy in NYC Series, Allison is in a dead end job, has lost both of her roommates, and is suffering serious financial setbacks. In the course of one evening, she not only wins the lottery, but also meets a devastatingly attractive rock star who is interested in her! When she loses the lottery ticket, she has to figure out how to get herself out of her dire situation. She takes Marco up on his offer to spend a few days with him in L,A., Even though Marco has been sober and celibate for a year, Allison sees this as a time out from real life and doesn't think her hookup with a rock star can go further. Marco doesn't necessarily agree with her assessment of where they stand.

I found this book to be entertaining and fun. The chemistry between Allison and Marco was wonderful, and I really enjoyed their banter. I loved the way Allison treated Marco like a normal guy. The two of them were great together, and I enjoyed every minute spent reading their journey to a real relationship. I closed the book with a sigh and a smile on my face.

I feel like I should have liked this one more that I did. I liked Allison's bluntness, loved how she wouldn't give Marco and inch despite him being famous. It was fun to see Marco react to being treated like a normal person. Yet I was bored with what was going on. In the end, this one just wasn't for me.

Stopping at 29 %

Not feeling the “hero” or the annoying heroine.

Not sure about other readers .... but hearing about the hero’s past ..... for the last 10 years of being a rock star he’s slept with over a thousand women. Threesome’s, foursome’s, multiple women in one night....yeah no thanks. I think I threw up a little in my mouth.

I really liked this one, I was about to give it 4 stars haha, but I felt like the end/something wasn't fully resolved. If they thought they couldn't be together, what changed for them to suddenly be able to be together?

I would have liked an epilogue. First, I would have liked to know what job Allison eventually got. Also, there was a hint (or I could be reading too much into it) that maybe she would be a cook? Since she was taking cooking lessons. I also would have liked to have seen the lyrics for Marco's song about her, "How to Get Lucky". Furthermore, I'm not sure Erin McCarthy intended this to be the last book in the series because you would have thought she would have included an epilogue and had a final hurrah or something & also Caroline's marriage wasn't working out well and in the previous book, Beckwith had hinted at this, so there was a loose plot thread.

Yeah, I just wanted more. Something just felt slightly unresolved at the end. (I might be the only one). I would have also have liked to know how old Marco was because we got Allison's age as 27.

Plot: Allison Parker meets a rockstar and wins the lottery all in the span of a night (or 2 days). Both Marco, the rockstar, and Allison take a step back to reevaluate their lives and what gives them purpose and meaning, and what they want to do in the future.

This book definitely had some cute moments, with the Empire State Building (my parents had their first kiss there) & the carriage ride in NY, and fucking on top of a hill. There were one or two sentences that I found amusing.

For a short book--less than 200 pages--there was a surprising amount of depth to it. I feel like those depths could have been explored just a little bit more.

Definitely recommend! And shoutout to my mom because it's her birthday!

Good story. I was about to leave it unfinished when Allison carelessly threw a bunch of papers to the wind and I just knew the lottery ticket was one of them. Funny, but I continued because I read a bad review, ranting about the ending and I liked it.

Allison is not someone I got to like. She's ballsy, alright. That's it. She never got a real job, she's penniless and incapable of making an adult decision by herself. I mean, you don't go to the other side of the country to spend some days at the house of a guy you just met. She has her credit card to the limit, no money for utilities and is almost homeless, but of course she has the trendiest shoes.

I couldn't stand her. Even Marco sees how ridiculous she is. There is a scene where he asks her if she would be ok on her own for a few hours and she answers that yes, it's not big deal. She has a bunch of magazines and she would dive into the fashion that's about to come next season. Marco only thinks "but you have no money to buy any of that". That the summary of Allison: a girl who spends her time looking at clothes she can't afford, buying it and then complaining of having no money. Then having a pity party where the rest is supposed to feel bad about her. Nuh-uh.

I didn't get the ending. It's not good.

I always enjoy Erin McCarthy's books. HOWEVER, this book was HORRIBLY edited. Grammar errors EVERYWHERE. And I was not reading an ARC. I was reading a book that I paid full price for so this was super frustrating to me. But the story was cute and highly enjoyable.

Completely unlikable characters - man ho as male lead and self admitted bi#$h as female lead. Nothing in the story redeemed either one to me. I just kept pushing through but saying to myself let it be over SOON. Terrible

I have been waiting years….and I mean years….for Erin McCarthy to pick this series back up. The only reason I haven’t completely rebelled against this amazing author is due to the fact that she has published dozens of awesome books for my reading pleasure in the meantime. In How To Get Lucky the third installment of Erin McCarthy’s Sexy in NYC, the reader is re-introduced to Allison Parker. Because it has been a while since You Don’t Know Jack and, my absolute favorite, The Pregnancy Test - you may have forgotten this hysterical lady. No worries, you’ll remember her quickly enough.

Allison is an “in your face,” "brutally honest," "no filter whatsoever" young lady looking for more. She isn’t exactly sure what she wants, she just knows there has to be something bigger and better in store for her. On a whim, and with the help of a quirky psychic, she does the improbable and wins the lottery, only to quickly lose her ticket and then be forced to pick up her life, which has fallen to shambles. In the process of experiencing her highest highs and her lowest lows, over the course of approximately 24 hours, she meets Marco Lucky. Marco is a reformed rock star or at least he is trying to be. He is sober, celibate, and looking for some peace and quiet. Although Allison is not his type, and she seems to want nothing to do with him, Marco cannot help but be drawn to her unwavering honesty - a trait that he is hard-pressed to find in his circle of friends and business associates. An unlikely friendship emerges, and the reader learns as this story unfolds whether these two individuals from different cities, on different sides of the country, in different business fields, and from two completely different backgrounds can build a relationship.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was fun, made me laugh a number of times, and had me guessing as to “what will happen next” more than once. In addition, the reader gets a sneak peek into the lives of the other characters whose relationships were explored earlier in the series. Mandy and Damien are awaiting the birth of their baby, and Jamie and Jonathon are planning their wedding. We also learn a little, just a snippet about how Caroline is doing now that she is married. It is just a teaser….maybe she will star in book four? Please?!

I received this book for free in exchange for a honest review.

After another day from hell at work Allison Parkers luck is about to change. Not only has she won the lottery she has caught the attention of Marco Lucky a famous music artist.

Marco Lucky is ready for a change. A life of drinking, drugs and random women has gotten stale. When he sees Allison he can't help but notice that she is the only woman in the room not going crazy over him. Se doesn't ask for an autograph or a picture in fact she wants him to stop trying to steal her lime light!

After a night on the town with Marco, Allison thinks she is on top of the world...until she finds out that she lost her winning lottery ticket! Can Marco show Allison that money cant buy happiness and that maybe he is what her life has been missing all along? Read and find out!

I received this book as an ARC from Erin McCarthy for my honest review.

I absolutely loved this book. There is something about an Erin McCarthy book that makes this ex-New Yorker believe in love again. It is so easy to get jaded in this world but for some reason when I read an Erin McCarthy book and I'm smiling form ear to ear.

This book was funny, sexy and simply everything you could ever want in a romance novel.

I loved that Allison was so genuine, extremely funny and relatable, she reminded me of myself and my friends that moved to New York. We moved to NYC with that "Sex and the City" single girl attitude that left us broke, hating our jobs and living together to make ends meet.

Marco was great he was so much more than I could have ever imagined. You think he has this privileged life but there was so many other things going on that made less of a untouchable rock star and more of a human that has had so many bad situations that you are surprised that he goes on every day.

If you cant tell I can go on and on..if you want a romance novel that that has the perfect amount of heat, with tons of comedy and romance for a great price than this is the book for you.

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

How to Get Lucky by Erin McCarthy is the story about Allison Parker, who's not having the best life. She gets told by her supposedly psychic friend that love just isn't in the cards for her. But money is. So the friend convinces her to buy a lottery ticket. Which she does. And she wins. Then she meets a rock star and her life changes in ways she can't imagine.

I really liked this book. There was humor and romance and a whole lot of fun. I didn't love Allison at first, but as the book goes on, you really begin to know and understand her and it's easier to warm up to her. Marco was great. I loved him. The other characters were equally as charming, especially Beckwith. Hands down, Beckwith was my favorite character.

As it turns out, How to Get Lucky is the book I've been waiting YEARS for ... and I never even knew it! I read this book pretty much "sight unseen." Meaning, when I saw it was an Erin McCarthy novel, I knew I had to read it. I've read and enjoyed books by this author in the past and knew it would be good reading. So I didn't read a summary or synopsis or anything about the book. I just jumped right into it .... and could NOT put it down. I read it pretty much in one sitting. Stayed up past my bedtime to do it. And when I got to the author notes at the end, I saw that it's book 3 in a series I had started years ago and had been waiting for the continuation. I was so excited and bummed at the same time. It had been so long since I read The Pregnancy Test and You Don't Know Jack and just didn't make the connection. But this book gives me an excuse to go back and re-read the first two books. If you read those first two books, I highly recommend reading this one. If you didn't read those first two books, I still would recommend this as it can pretty much stand on its own.

**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review**
Allison Parker was hanging at the local bar with her friends, lamenting her lack of a successful life when her psychic friend makes a prediction that may or may not change her life. While at the bar, she made some rude comments about a rock star who was at the bar and being mobbed by fans. When he heard her, to save face, she kept up with the snarky remarks. Rather than be totally offended at the brunette’s comments, Marco Lucky became intrigued. He was a little pleased that he finally found a woman that didn’t just fall at his feet for who and what he was. After leaving the bar, Allison takes her psychic friend’s advice and buys a lottery ticket. The next night, she actually wins the lottery. While she’s celebrating at the bar, Marco happened to wander in again, in hopes of seeing her again. What starts out as a night of happiness, becomes a night of inner reflection and just absolute connection with Marco.
When I read the overview of the book, I wasn’t sure how much I was going to like this story. With any plot that involves two people, instant attraction and seemingly instant love, I find it’s really up to the storyteller as to whether or not I can buy into it. As soon as I started to read the story, I was completely caught up in the story. While Allison is rethinking her entire being, she’s hyper aware of Marco and struggles hard to maintain her morals and NOT act like every groupie he’s ever met. This allows each of them to see a side of each other that they’ve never shared with anyone else. For him, this is something completely unique, especially while he fights his own inner battles.
This is my first time reading this author, but I absolutely LOVED it and can’t wait to read more from her. I highly recommend it to anyone that likes contemporary, hawt rock star stories.

Allison Parker is down on her luck, working a dead end job she hates and is absolutely broke. Living in New York is not cheap and she has made some bad financial choices in the past. She buys a lottery ticket with the last of her money after a maybe, probably psychic friend tells her it's her lucky night and she needs to buy a ticket after encountering Marco Lucky, the hottest rockstar around, in a bar. He pays for her and hers friends drinks after she was completely rude to him and didn't let his rockstar status get to her. Marco has been sober and celibate for a year but goes to the bar so he won't feel so lonely. He starts to leave the bar since he's being mauled by a bunch of fans when he sees Allison and hears the rude stuff she says about him. He can't get her out of his head so he goes back to the bar the next night hoping to see her again and finds her celebrating with a bunch of her friends. Unable to stop himself, he gets himself invited into their get together to learn Allison has won the New York State lottery. Marco and Allison spend a night on the town as tourists to celebrate her winning and become friends in the process. After a terrible ending to the night, Marco invites her to go with him back to LA for a couple of days to get herself square again and just to relax. Neither of them know what they are doing or where this this is going but they can't seem to stay distant from each other. I liked how Marco and Allison were complete opposites of each other but still managed to somehow fit one another. I enjoyed Allison's humor and sarcasm and how it was exactly what Marco needed to feel like a regular person. I'm anxious to see if there are anymore stories in this series and even if there isn't, I can't wait for the next Erin McCarthy book!

HOW TO GET LUCKY was a wonderful read and wish that Erin Mccarthy would write one final book to tie up everyone's story, I need to know what happened and where everyone is now. That being said, HOW TO GET LUCKY is the third book in the series, each book being about one girl in a group of friends, each friend having had a crap love life. Each book starts with Beckwith, a cross dressing physic, reading the girls fortune and of course they don't believe what he is telling them will come true. This third books is Allison's story, and there of course is a glimpse of each of the other girls in this book as well.

The story in this book is very well written and well developed and the plot is fast paced and will keep you hooked till the very last page with all the twists and turns and ups and downs that Allison goes through. The characters in this book are very well written and easy to fall in love with, Allison is a girl who jumps from one bad relationship to another and Marco the hot rock star, love me some rock stars.

In this book Beckwith tells Allison that he sees her with a lot of money but alone, not having settled down with one man, so when Allison buys a lottery tickets on the off chance that she may win, and does, will she be able to find someone to make her happy??? On the night of her lottery celebration in walks Marco Lucky, the rock star she had met the night before, and when he asks her to rescue him from all the fans falling at his feet, she does so with a kiss, and so begins the love affair of Marco Lucky and Allison. But Beckwith said that she would be alone, so will Allison and Marco last???

Loved this book and this series, whats next for Erin McCarthy.

Allison is really down on her luck in many ways. She has no money and she cant stand her job. Allison can barely afford her apartment but guess what she has good friends and they are willing to let her stay with them until she can get back on her feet.

Marco is the ultimate rock star with the tattoo's and the band members. He is hanging out get a drink and has a chance meeting with Allison . She is so different than all of the other groupies he usually hangs around with. She is snarky and gives it right back to him. He really likes that . The next day he goes back to bar and Allison is happily hanging with her friends because she has won the New York lottery and is celebrating. Marco decides he is going to try and get Allison's attention. She has really gotten under his skin and he wants to know more about her.

After her friends leave Marco and Allison spend more time together and there realationship progresses. Many things will test relationship and a lot of it will be this history that both Allison and Marco carry for previous baggage and what they want to do in the future. They have a connection that not be denied and they decide to let it progress . But can the obstacles and there past be overcome. You will have to read to find out.

I really did enjoy this book. I have not read the other book previous to this book in the series but i am devoted Erin McCarthy Fan so i definitely wanted to read this book. I found the characters to be realistic and felt like this could happen in real life in a big city. You definitely don't have to read the first book to read this one.

I read this book as ARC from the Author.

I loved Allison and Marco’s story. Allison is living in New York, working a dead end job and has made some bad financial decisions which have left her in a tight spot. One night after talking with some friends at a bar she decides to buy a lottery ticket after meeting Marco Lucky. Unbelievably she wins the lottery and her future is looking better. At the same time Marco has come to realize that being a rock star can be a lonely life. He is looking for something more than an endless stream of women and the constant hassle of celebrity life. He wants someone who sees him for more than how much money he makes or what he looks like. Allison intrigues him because she doesn’t care that he is famous or how much money he has. Unfortunately the rough times are not over for Allison, so after becoming friends with her, Marco invites her to get away from New York and to spend some time with him in LA. Thinking that maybe while she is there she can get her life back together, Allison agrees.
Without giving too much away, it’s fun to see the development of the relationship between Marco and Allison. Allison is a very confident and at times sarcastic person who knows what she wants out of life but just hasn’t been able to succeed. Marco is someone who has hit it big young and needs help finding his balance between the real him and the celebrity status. Together they make an amazing couple who has fun. Erin’s third book in the Sexy in NYC series is a must read and was worth the wait. She doesn’t disappoint. I can’t wait for her next book because I know it will be another amazing read.

How To Get Lucky is the third book in the Sexy in NYC Series and can I say it's about time... The first being The Pregnancy Test and the second being You Don't Know Jack.. If you've read the first two then you'll know How To Get Lucky is about their friend Allison Parker, a girl who hates her job and boss, whose about to have her cellphone shut off and no place to live. When transgender psychic extraordinaire Beckwith Tripp tells her that she won't find love but sees her financially stable, she uses what little money she has to buy a lottery ticket.

Marco Lucky is a famous musician who seems lost in his own world. After running into Allison at a bar and hearing her not so nice words about him, she seems to be stuck in his head and refusing to leave. When he runs into Allison again the next night, he hears she has one the lottery, he goes over to congratulate her. Her friends being the awesome friends they are gives Marco her phone number and while he's sitting at the bar, Marco and Allison begin texting each other... When Allison saves Marco from the female fans, she does the
only thing she could think of, to get the fans off his back.... She kisses him and it wasn't a simple peck on the cheek...

You can feel the sexual tension and chemistry between these two,but with Beckwith saying she wouldn't find love will Marco and Allison last? You'll just have to read How To Get Lucky to find out. This story had everything, chemistry, heat and a lot of humor and I hope Erin writes more for this series. It's one of my favorites.

How to Get Lucky, the long awaited 3rd installment of Erin McCarthy's 'Sexy in NYC' series truly does not disappoint! Allison wins the lottery and meets a sexy hot rock star all in one night. Great hook for me because- Seriously. What girl wouldn't love to see that particular dream come to life?! But then there's a devastating blow 'when Allison realizes her winning ticket is gone...' which hello, that sounds like the story of my life. I couldn't help but relate to Allison's misery, because surely if by a miraculous fluke I won the lottery I guarantee I'd most likely flub it up just like Allison. I found Allison a completely relatable character, I loved her personality though I must admit she took it all in stride way better than I ever would have. BUT then again she has some help, after reluctantly meeting (and I quote here) "The hair, the tats, the hardware, the huge dick... I'm not really sure where to look first." rock star Marco Lucky. Daaaaaaaaaaamn. Doesn't that just say it all?!! Again, I'd never 'Get Lucky' to the extent Allison did but alas that's the beauty of fiction & book boyfriends! I was all about Marco Lucky and he was the perfect fit for Allison! I devoured this book in a matter of hours. Erin delivers a smokin' sexy read just in time to be the perfect beach read this summer! Prepare to take that cool dip though, because it's gonna get HOT!!! ;)

I usually prefer character driven plots over conflict driven plots, but this could have used a little more conflict. I suspect Erin McCarthy assumes readers are just as familiar with Allison's backstory as they would have been 7 years ago when You Don't Know Jack came out since this is a continuation of that series. That wasn't the case for me, however, so I spent a lot of time wondering why Allison was so angry and snarky. Actually, she was really rude a lot of the time, not just snarky, so it made it hard to like her.

Also, it was pretty clear that this was self-published and could have benefited from a closer line edit. I found at least 4 typos that caused me to reread the sentence to figure out what word was wrong and what it should have been. Errors like these are why I typically stay away from self-published books, so she's not really changing my mind on this. I picked up this Erin McCarthy because I've always enjoyed her contemporaries in the past, they are generally funny and the sex is always hot. This wasn't funny and the sex was only meh. If this is what her contemporary work is going to be like, maybe she should stick with NA.

This was a fun book by Erin McCarthy. Allison Parker is living in New York trying to breakout in the fashion industry, but until her big break comes she's working at a cosmetic company because she needs to pay the bills. Her best friends and roommates have recently found the love of their lives and moved out leaving Allison to pay the rent on her own. On top of the that Allison has decided she doesn't trust guys and is taking a break from dating.
Macro Lucky has made huge changes in his personal life such as not drinking and no more one night stands. He wants something different, something more than the parties, drugs, alcohol and women. He realizes that he is lonely for a true friend. When he sees Allison in a local bar he decides that she is different than most other women that fall all over themselves trying to get near him. She in fact doesn't seem to trust him or want anything to do with him. Marco finds it intriguing and sexy.
The more Allison pushes for just friendship between her and Marco the more he can't seem to get enough of her.

I was given an ARC for an honest review. All conclusions are mine and mine alone.

Okay, I had to DNF this book. I was enjoying it, too, but one aspect made me WTF...

What the everloving fuck was up with the portrayal of the transgender character?
The heroine's narration refered to him as a "transgender man". And that's fine. But he kept acting like the most stereotypical gay guy, asking for Chanel bags and so on. So he's a transgender man who really enjoys feminine pursuits? I mean, okay. I'm not saying that's not possible, but I have to be honest... I think it's more likely that the author wanted to write a transgender woman, and for some reason didn't know enough not to call this character a "man", repeatedly.
Then in the hero's narration, he was referred to as "him/her". The hero thought to himself that he didn't really know what the fuck he was.

Does it get better? I had to close the book toward the second scene at the bar because I couldn't anymore. It just seemed like a lot of casual transphobia.

Allison is not having a great night. She's just learned from her psychic friend that love is not in the cards for her, she's working in a crappy retail job, and she's just insulted Marco Lucky. Allison pulls out her trademark sass when the sexy rock star responds. Marco is so over the random hookups and hangovers from his past. He's feeling out of sorts when he runs into Allison in the bar and her ability to treat him as any other man is intriguing and provides a much needed breath of fresh air. This chance meeting leads to an unlikely relationship that was intended to be a holiday fling, but becomes pretty intense very quickly. How to Get Lucky is an entertaining and sexy opposites attract romance with great banter. Erin McCarthy provides an engaging couple and colorful secondary characters. How to Get Lucky can be read as a standalone in the series.

How to Get Lucky is the third book in Erin McCarthy's Sexy in NYC series, and it definitely it was one of those fun, loving books that was hard to put down.

I give this book 4 stars and recommend it to readers of Contemporary Romance. If you've been waiting for this book, you definitely should jump on reading it. I definitely plan on reading the first two. I bought them as soon as I read this one because I want to know what Beckwith predicted with his other friends.

I also recommend this book as a 2015 Beach Read. =) I know that I'll read the first two at the beach this summer.

Book three in the sexy in NYC series how to get lucky is another great read from Erin McCarthy, and was well worth the wait. you get to meet Alison who is down on her luck and love but after a night with a quirky psychic (it was great to hear from Becket) her luck changes and as she was told she wouldn't need to worry about money again winning the lottery does that.
After going out celebrating with her friends and telling a hot rock star what she thinks of him, has Alison found love to. Marcus lucky could just be that person. After everything Alison has said he still offers to help her out especially after looking her ticket.
Can they make it work you will have to read this great book to find out.

The third in the Sexy in NYC series features Allison, a pragmatic, sarcastic woman who meets Marco de Lucky, a successful rock star. All the books of this series begins with a psychic reading by Beckwith, a cross dressing ex-con. This time telling Allison her fortune, she will be lucky in money, but not in love. The story progresses in all the ways Allison can get lucky, or unlucky in some instances.
It’s a fun fast adult read. I liked Allison’s pragmatic nature in dealing with the lottery and Marco. It’s a “time to grow up” story. While it is the third of the series it is a standalone, you just have more appreciation of the other characters if you have read the other books. It was nice to see the other roommates and how they are doing. Looking forward to the next book.
