¿Y quién rescata a Adele?

Puan kırmamın nedeni, Adele’in inadı ve inkarıydı.

This book...I would have liked a lot more had Adele not been such a simpering, mistrustful wimp. I applauded the fact that she grew as a character, but all that growth was tossed aside toward the end when she (once again) listened to vicious gossip and ran away instead of talking things out. That was what I respected about Sophia; she found out for herself. Somewhere along the line, MacLean decided her other heroines needed to be melodramatic children and throw ridiculous pity parties any time they heard something they didn't like.

Kurgusu yoğun kitaplardan bir kafamı kaldırıp eğlenceli vakit geçireyim dediğim zamanlarda tarihi aşk romanları bana ilaç gibi geliyor. Bu romanda Wilson kardeşlerin en küçüğü Adele'in hikayesi anlatılıyor. Her zaman doğru hareket eden, hayatında taşkınlığa hiç yer vermeyen, söz dinleyen, mükemmel insan abidesi Adele'i de yoldan çıkaracak biri varmış meğer, Alcester Baronu Damien Renshaw!

Three and a half stars.

Adele Wilson is the youngest of three American sisters, all fabulously wealthy. Her sisters have found love with English lords and Adele is sailing to England to marry her betrothed, Harold. Adele has always been the obedient child, the rule-follower, the good one. Her sisters are frankly surprised that Adele has chosen such a reserved, studious man to marry but Adele finds Harold clever and kind.

Then (for reasons, frankly, that never made much sense), Adele is kidnapped and held in a remote cottage until she is rescued by a dashing, dark-haired avenging angel, more Dark Knight than knight in shining armour, Damien Alcester, Harold's cousin. Adele and Damien spend three days together travelling to Harold's country home, during which time feelings grow between them. Although Damien is destitute and has a bad reputation (and is known to keep a famous actress as his mistress), he loves his cousin and would never want to hurt him. Similarly, Adele has made a commitment to Harold and intends to marry him.

This was okay, the problem was that Adele and Damien were so honourable but also so attracted to each other the entire novel was push-me/pull-me between them, with not much else to break up the monotony.

Its Almost impossible for me to believe Julianne MacLean wrote "In Love With the Viscount"!! This is the last story in the American Heiress Trilogy and its written Badly and Rushed.

Adele Wilson is on her way on a ship from America to England to marry Harold the Earl of Osulton. Adele is kidnapped from off the ship. That makes no sense to me. We never know if the ship was docked or still at sea.

In charges Damien Renshaw Viscount of Alcester. He kills the man who is holding Adele captive and protects her sleep beside her so she won't be afraid to fall asleep. They begin to feel a very strong attraction to one another. But Damien is Harold cousin and best friend. I understand there feeling guilty about this. But Harold constantly ignores Adele and he only wants to conduct his science research. He reprimand's her to act more like a English women. Adele soon realizes she doesn't love or want Harold.

Adele is so confused and down right mean and nasty to Damien after all he has done for her. She says awful things to him. This goes on through out the entire book. Its just to much Angst in this story. Even the Epilog is not about Adele and Damien its about Lily!! WTH? The author never bothered to give a proper HEA for Adele and Damien. We just know they get back together and we assume they marry.

The story is rushed and noting really fits together in the storyline. I am sorry but this is an awful story!! Bad writing in every sense. If I didn't get this story on Kindle Unlimited I would have returned it for a full refund. Don't Waste your time on this. I gave the first to stories in this trilogy 5 stars.

Adele, me pareció insulsa, desesperante, molesta, irritante…

Always sensible Adele is finally in England to marry a decent and sensible English lord - Harold. She arrives only to find herself kidnapped and rescued by her fiancee's cousin, Damien (also a lord). In the three days they spend together, sparks fly and Adele begins to question herself and who she's always been. The situation forces her to examine her own wants and desires. Even after she's reunited with her fiancee, Adele can't seem to stop thinking about Damien...but she's not sure if its lust or love. She's also not sure if Damien is even a good bet, especially given that they're betraying his cousin and close friend and he needs money pretty badly and he has quite a reputation with women...

This is more like a 3.5, but I freely admit it's the best in the series. Adele is a much more likable heroine than her sisters (and she's not TSTL!!!). She doesn't crave adventure, she craves a nice, quiet and solid life (but a little sexual excitement wouldn't be amiss). And I can totally understand her struggle in realizing that maybe she isn't who she's always thought she is. And even to the end she was trying to do the right thing with Harold. Damien is also a great hero. He feels awful about what he's doing and he really does try to do the honorable thing. It's also always great to see a hero take the fall before the heroine admits it to herself. I wasn't too fond of the little trust argument they had - where Adele can't trust him because he's betraying his cousin and he can't trust her for the same reason (suggesting that neither of them could be faithful in marriage)... I don't think the author did a great job getting them out of that corner and it might have been smarter just not to go there. I also wonder about the kidnapping - no one ever investigated it, no one had any idea why she was kidnapped, no ransom was demanded and she wasn't sexually assaulted. So what was the purpose other than getting Damien and Adele together? Felt like the author dropped the ball on that one too. Other than that, a pretty awesome story.

Finished

That’s all I can say for this final in the series. Reads like a sappy teenage party with a few adults thrown into the mix. Please grandma, quit calling the h cupcake. And a tart table, please just no. The 1st in the series was good and drew me in, the 2nd started off well but struggled to finish. The 3rd, I wondered if it was the same author. Sorry folks.

İlk iki kitabı da okuyunca Adele'i ablalarının gözünden görmüş oldum.

This book is my first book by this book and it was an alright read. The chemistry between Adele and Damien was questionable as there was not much banter between them but there were chemistry in terms of them being able to share with one another their deepest fears / trauma. The good thing about this book is that Damien and Adele were real people with real problems; Damien - his parents & Adele - her personality.

As for the romance itself, it felt kinda non existent. I wasn’t that concerned with the cheating part as most readers were since I felt Harold wouldn’t care much also. There was too much drama and mistrust between Damien & Adele that made this book only alright to me. At least, I got to see Damien grovel to Adele.

All in all this book could have been written better.

Practical and Adventurous!

Adele is to practical to wish to follow her sisters through an arduous season in London. What difference does it make, anyway? These marriages are mostly business transactions so when she meets a man who is intelligent and steady, she accepts his proposal. (Sounds like a sound plan until she finds the man spends all the time in his lab when he's back home!)
Then she meets her betrothed's cousin, Damien. He has the reputation if being a rake! He is much sought after by the ladies and is ready to find one with some backbone. Adele has more than her share of principles and brains and plenty of backbone. You won't want to miss the funny course of their relationship.

This is an unexpectedly good book. I thoroughly enjoyed the character of Adele and how she comes to discover who she truly is.
The characters are interesting and there is lots of romance and passion, not to mention at least one happy ending. A most pleasing read.

There is only one thing I just couldn't fathom was how Adele was kidnapped...and why...what reasons could have prompted that...it was rather like tripping over a rock while walking on flat pavement. It felt artificial. Yeah, I know, works of fiction are artificial...but you, fellow readers, know that when we fall into a book, we suspend our belief systems and commit ourselves wholeheartedly to the tale. So when there is a patch that cannot be reconciled its uncomfortable. Ah well!

When Perfect isn’t good enough…

What a wild ride this story is! From the very beginning the reader is tossed into the fray and it never really lets you go! Adele , the “perfect” daughter is ready to marry the decent man of her dreams. Unfortunately Harold may be decent, but not what Adele needs. I loved how the author ferrets out Damien’s demons and makes him realize what he is shying away from is what he really needs. It was interesting to see Adele change , realizing she should follow her own dreams and not what others say. Someone needs to shake some sense into Violet. I really wanted to slap some sense into her! Great end to the sisters!

I am like 100% sure I had written a review for this one! How?!

Adele is an American heiress who is off to marry an English Lord. Harold seems nice and all, but then she is kidnapped and rescued by his handsome cousin. The no good rake.

She does have some trauma from the kidnapping, that seems rather dark. And she wants to get to know Harold, but he seems cold and clueless. But the hot cousin, oh he is so handsome and all she can think of. But he is not husband material.

She is the good girl who does everything by the rules. And yes she will listen to her heart in the end.

Good narration.

Had a little more depth to it than I thought it would. The youngest Wilson sister gets kidnapped on her way to meet her fiance in England. He sends his cousin to retrieve her and find they are attracted to each other. The proper Miss Wilson who does everything just right finds herself not wanted to be the good sister anymore and follow her heart.

An heiress a kidnapping and a hero

Overall a pleasant romance to read and exploration of relationships and feelings. One thing that was never explained was why the heiress was kidnapped off the ship and by whom, since the whole emotional conflict is based on this event it rather spoilt the book, as it was an irritating point.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I guess I am a forbidden romance kind of gal. The one thing that felt just a little out of character for Adele was the sex scene under the willows. But then again she loved him and he loved her and he is freaking hot, so I got over it pretty quickly. Wonderful book!

A good story but

I had a hard time with a few things. I didn't care for the relationship between Damien and Harold, being family and then caring for the same girl. I also didn't understand Harper's reaction to Damien and Adele. He had hardly paid any attention to Adele since her arrival, putting her with Damien and then being so angry.
