Shame on me for never looking at Willa Okati's backlist. A dear friend introduced me to her stories and I loved her writing and her characters. But when I found out that she'd written a paranormal shifter erotic romance trilogy that also includes mpreg…well, I was over the moon. A lot of people make fun of the mpreg trope, but I love it. I love to see the different and creative ways authors establish their scenarios for what type of shifters can get pregnant, how they carry the young, and most importantly, what will the birthing process be like. I find it fascinating and better yet, I find it fun. Believe me when I say I was really looking forward to 'Lost and Found', book one in the author’s 'Omega Wolves' series.

Matthias has spent many long, lonely years away from the Wasp Lake pack after they kicked him out when he was an orphaned teen. Now he's returned to claim his mate, the omega he's loved all of these years, the packmaster’s son, Bree. Poor timing has Matthias struggling through a blizzard only to find an omega's bolt-hole cabin, and to his surprise, Bree.

Bree's whole life has changed since Matthias left him. His father never returned from a hunting trip, and his brother, the alpha heir, tucked tail and ran from a challenge, leaving Bree all alone. He's had to learn to defend himself and hide during his heat cycles because he'll be darned if he carries pups for anyone in the Wasp Lake pack. Not after the way they've treated him.

"If he let himself, he could love Matthias again - love him as if he’d never stopped. And if he lost Matthias a second time, which he would - he didn’t get to keep the things he loved - Bree knew he couldn’t survive that again."

A beautiful but much too short introduction to a shifter world I've already fallen for. Bree made my heart ache with his hidden vulnerability, his inner strength, and his desperate hope for Matthias's love. Matthias was everything I adore in an alpha, but he was gentle and understanding, too. What a fabulous story! Thank you, Willa, you made my day.

The Romance Review

Mpreg lovers, this is hot erotica book for you. Ms. Okati is a new to me author who writes smoking hawt shifter sex between two men. Bree and Matthias are lovers separated by a conniving father looking for a more advantageous mating for his son. Bree is a special one in his pack of werewolves because he is an Omega. In this world building, it appears all shifters are males and Omegas are the ones who can be bred during heat.

From a plot perspective, this story is predictable and simple. The world building is light and only readers who are well versed in the paranormal world with shifters would appreciate it. There are quite a few threads which petered out or explained away in less than a paragraph. Seeing as how this is a short story, that is to be expected. What this story really focuses on is the interaction between the two characters. Matthias and Bree are simple characters and easy to understand.

Matthias worked hard to find his way back to his lover. Bree is a loner fending off any shifters trying to knock him up when he becomes a slut for sex during his mating heat. The sex in here is raunchy and rough. It is the best part of the story. Bree's begging when he can't control his lust is delightful as he experiences humiliation for his wanton behaviour. Matthias' desire to dominate and thrust into Bree's dripping wet hole is easy to anticipate. The two going at it like horny rabbits rather than controlled wolves is entertaining. The conflict between the two easily melts away through a good pounding. Sexual therapy through graphic body language helps this estranged couple to communicate clearly.

Ms. Okati writes descriptive and erotic sex scenes. She does a good job of painting a vivid picture of the location and expressing how the characters feel. This is a tasty morsel whetting a m/m reader's appetite. The sweet happily ever concludes the romance nicely. Recommended for m/m readers who have a fetish for mpreg themes.

This really wasn't my thing. I'm not crazy about the whole alpha/omega-mating-thing, even if there was also love in this book and two people that knew each other before the mating.

What dragged this book down for me was that it was full of yucky details about the physical manifistations of being an omega in heat. I could have done very well without that mental image.

OK story...no more,no less.
There's not much in the way of paranormal here, except the heat cycle...really,this could've been contemporary romance if not for the fact that these two were werewolves. And I don't know, maybe I got accustomed to growly, possessive, domineering alphas when reading a shifter romance,so it came as a little disappointing that Matthias and Bree acted like two ordinary guys...except ordinary guys don't get heat cycles, but whatever.

So,I don't know if I would recommend this one. Willa Okati certainly has better books, and as for shifter romances there are far better.

What a sweet, sweet book! It’s short, only 770 locations on my Kindle, but packed with goodness. We get a sweet homecoming, a Misunderstanding, an Omega heat and a pregnancy! Wonderful!

Willa Okati manages to pack a lot into this little story and it was delightful. If you’re a fan of sweet, Omega, shifter, mpreg, reunion stories – this is for you!

Years ago, the Wasp Lake pack forced Matthias out after he dared to fall in love with the Packmaster’s Omega son, Bree. Now Matthias has made his fortune on the sea and returned to claim his mate. But the world he left behind isn’t the one he finds.

Bree has become an outcast and been lied to from the start. He’s been told Matthias left because he’d fallen out of love with him. He hasn’t mated with any other wolves or borne them cubs, but the struggle against his Omega nature has taken its toll. He knows he can’t hold out much longer, even if he does have a secret den to hide in when he’s in heat.

Matthias takes shelter from a blizzard in Bree’s bolt-hole just as mating fever consumes the Omega, and the former lovers are reunited just in time for their world to change again -- for keeps.

Summary:

While the synopsis gave a brief description about what the book was about, the rest of the story followed along adding little else to the plot. The difficulties that Bree, as an Omega, were well described, even though the years after Matthias left were only briefly touched upon. The erotic scenes were well written and followed long well with the story line. The problems between Bree and Matthias were understandable considering their rocky past. The reason for Matthias's being forced to leave and his intervening years needed to be discussed in more detail to enhance the plot. I was intrigued by the book blurb, but if the story was revised adding the needed depth and detail to the plot it would be a much more compelling story.

Review written for Love Bytes Reviews.

Years after being abandoned by his lover, Bree is still determined to keep himself apart from the other alphas in his pack. Refusing to let anyone touch him, and hiding himself away during his heats, he lives on the fringes of his pack, not important enough to care for but still too valuable to let go. Matthias never wanted to leave Bree behind but when the choices are leave or be killed, he chose to battle another day. Now that he’s made a life away from the pack that threw him out, he’s back for the only thing he’s thought of since leaving, the one thing he’s always thought worth fighting for: Bree. The years apart have been tough, however, and Matthias will have to convince his former lover he’s here to stay if he wants a chance at his happy ever after.

This was a sweet book, which is kind of odd for an Alpha/Omega book with heat sex in it, but its true nonetheless. The situation being how it is, with Bree feeling he was abandoned and Matthias swearing he never forgot him, there could’ve been a lot more angst in this than there was. Instead, despite Bree being in heat, Matthias is determined to prove that what Bree wants matters to him, even when his nature would dictate he do otherwise. I found Matthias attempts at caring for Bree sweet and it was nice to see that he understood it would take more than just him coming back to win Bree’s love back. The sex wasn’t overwhelming, which was appreciated, and what was there was enjoyable but not as scorching as I expected. Overall, this was a nice intro to a new series and it left off with a sweet, happy ending that made me smile.

Years ago, Matthias was tossed out of his pack for being gay and daring to fall in love with the Packmaster’s omega son, Bree. Now Matthias has made his fortune at sea and is returning to claim what is his. Arriving in a snow storm, Matthias is allowed to shelter in Bree’s bolt hole. Bree is hiding there as well. His mating fever is on him. He is not happy to see Matthias as has been lied to and is not sure he can trust Matthias.

The two are stuck together in a snow storm with no one else between them. Talk they do and find out what has been said during Matthias’s absence. Bree soon realizes that everything he has been told was not true. Don’t you just love when true love conquers all? Read this one! You will be left with a smile at the end.

Sweet Alpha/Omega Shifter Mpreg Smut

After being exiled for his pack for loving the Packmaster's son, Alpha wolf shifter Matthias returns only to find his love Bree shunned when his Omega nature is evident. Young but true love is lost and found again in the cold of the winter snow and the overwhelming mating heat. Overall, while the underlying plot was sweet, the writing and the story were not very compelling. Fans of explicit Alpha/Omega wolf shifter attraction, lust and love and their overwhelming drive to connect during the mating heat may find this to be a sizzling albeit short read. While placed in a werewolf setting, the steam includes favorite themes of omegaverse enthusiasts such as male pregnancy (mpreg) and knotting.

I am writing on the last weekend in December 2015. This was actually published a couple of days ago, and I read the edition directly from Changeling Press. I enjoyed the story for what it was, an Alpha/Omega m/m romance. I've been reading a lot of Alpha/Beta/Omega fan fiction lately, so I was fine with it. Willa is a skilled writer. This is one of those tropes where either you're okay with it or it's not your thing. If you're okay with it, this is highly recommended.

I novella about a pair of wolf shifters who were forced apart when they were young. Bree has suffered after Matthias left the pack - unaware that he'd been forced to leave by Bree's own father. Matthias has only ever worked to make a success so that the could come back for Bree. But Bree doesn't know this an doesn't trust Matthias since he has always thought he had been abandoned.

My only complaint was I wanted more! More Bree and Matthias :)

A much too short (IMO) book, because I love shifter paranormal and mpreg books and just wanted more! I found Mathias and Bree to be engaging characters that had been treated abominably by the pack, both needing to overcome the past and move forward and of course it wouldn't be a romance if they didn't.

Good story, short, I'm sure there's a longer story there. Looking forward to next book. The price of the short is a little high
