Barnaby Blaine Rice was a Vampire born in the depression with a very special power to see who people truly were. After a long, empty existence of witnessing the darkest points of humanity, Blaine happens to encounter a beautiful married woman named Mary Slate. Unable to handle his love for the beautiful human, Blaine accidentally kills another Vampire over her and is put under a serious debt with the Vampire Council.
Blaine reluctantly forces himself to forget the woman and allows her to live her life without his intervention. It wasn’t until 50-years-later that the distant memories of the captivating Mary are brought back to the surface. Blaine has the pleasure to encounter the young Wendy Slate, granddaughter of Mary Slate after a criminal vampire keeps her hostage. Blaine got there in time to stop the criminal, but not to stop the beginning of Wendy’s transition into Vampirism.
As he was forced to sire her into this new world, he discovers that Wendy is the most amazing person he’d ever met. Wendy has to make a life-altering decision as Blaine has to deal with his blooming feelings for a woman who was identical to his first love. This modern love story introduces the most influential turning point of these lover’s lives.
Rain Grey is a psychologist by profession. However, she has been writing books since she was fifteen years old. She loves anything supernatural and her favourite genres are vampire Romance and ghost fiction.
Her home in England is close to the town of Stratford Upon Avon, where William Shakespeare was born.
Serious Barnaby Blaine Rice. The name Blaine fits much better and just flowed off the tongue. So not the point but I just had to add my few pennies in. I found things intriguing to love one woman and be denied to fall in love with her off spring years later. There was just something extraordinary about Blaine and his gift. The connection that he maintained with Mary/Wendy was appealing. There was something more at work her and time did nothing to change the course of events.
Interesting character with interesting back lives before current events. The draw was sweet. The romance like a tornado. The mystery to find answers to the why of things was pulling me in. Things did move fast and clipped. I was reminded a bit of vampires and love many years ago. I found that some things could have allowed for more to make thing more involving and evolving. I still had a good read.
Blaine is a vampire with a debt to the Vampire Council. So he must work his debt off and they assign him to find the bad vampires and to restore balance. He saves a human and everything in his life will be changed and turned upside down.
Wendy doesn't realize who she is but one vampire has decided to take her. Luckily she is saved by Blaine. A world she doesn't think exists is shown to her as she changes and learns more of her past. Wendy strangely appears to look like Blaine's first love but there is something about her that draws him to her.
This story is full of twists and turns. Lots of jaw dropping moments that will leave you speechless. Good read and enjoyable story. This is the first book I have read from this author and I wasn't disappointed. I would have rated this story with a higher rating but some parts of the book dragged for me. Overall I am glad I kept on reading as this was a good story and book.
I liked this vampire tale the main character Blaine is told by the council he works for that he must care for a human Wendy that was kidnapped by a vampire and is now between vampire and human. She will die if he doesn't change her but it's not just that, she is also the granddaughter of what he thought was his true love. After meeting Wendy he knows he is a goner their love is instant and they become inseparable. Things though are dark in the vampire world, and someone is kidnapping and killing women that look like Wendy. Blaine is hired once again but this time to figure out what's happening and stop it. The farther he gets into unraveling the mystery the more complicated everything becomes, and most importantly Wendy's life is at stake. A great love story with a HEA Give it a try if you enjoy vampire romance.
This book drew me in from the very begining!! I quickly became a part of Wendy and Blaine and I was soon yelling at both characters. This book was fast and slow and completely remarkable. I fell in love and was over the moon with this book. Absolutely loved All the curve balls that were thrown in this book!
Let me start by saying that I thought Vampire Creed by Rain Grey was a really good book but I was left feeling a tad underwhelmed and I'm unsure why.
Barnaby Blaine Rice; Blaine was born a vampire a long time ago. Blaine fell in love with a married human, and killed another vampire over her. This meant that Blaine was in debt to the vampire council as his punishment for killing another vampire. Blaine's latest task set by the council is to look after and protect Wendy.
Wendy Slate was attacked and kidnapped by a vampire, and is now in a state of transition from human to vampire. It is at this point that Blaine breaks in and rescues her from this vampire. Once away from her captor Blaine gives Wendy a choice. She can complete the transition to vampire or not complete the transition and she will die. Wendy's choice is...
When women who look like Wendy begin turning up dead, the vampire council task Blaine with finding out who is responsible and putting a stop to it.
The plot is clear and well thought out. The pace is good, it starts a little slower and gathers momentum. There is a good amount of background information and it was given at the appropriate points within the story.
The characters were good, they showed some development and had plenty of emotion, making them appear realistic. They interacted with each other well too.
I personally didn't feel an attachment to them or as though I was fully immersed in their lives but I honestly don't know why, even after waiting 2 weeks before writing my review. I guess it's just one of life's little mysteries!!!
If you like vampires, vampire romance or supernatural I would recommend giving Vampire Creed a go. It is a good book.
This was a poetically written vampire love story. Blaine is a Judge for vampires, in debt to the council for a past transgression. His final task is to find a rogue that has left too many dead bodies. He finds the man keeping a girl from his past hostage. Wendy is the granddaughter of Blaine’s former love, and she is also someone he saved when she was a young girl. She’s had a bit of a hero-worship thing for him in all the years since, so when he is to become her sire, she willingly allows him to finish the transition into vampirism. Their love is instant. The story is written in what I’d describe as an ode to old-style vampire romance. The story moves pretty quickly, leaving a lot of room for what could have been expanded. I felt there was a lack of getting to know the characters towards the beginning, so when they are suddenly proclaiming their love, it didn’t move me to believe it very much.
This was okay for a pretty quick read. This reminded me of old Dracula type stories, so if that is something you enjoy, you may like this tale. There was potential for more, so I’d look forward to what the author brings next.
I received a copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.
Wendy finds out she was attacked by a vampire only to be saved by another. Blaine explains to her what happened, what will happen, and waits for a reaction. Her's is almost immediate that she wants to be changed over completely and that she wants Blaine to do it. They fall in love right away, then the danger begins. Blaine is given the mission to keep Wendy alive, and he does his best to do this. Only after she starts getting hunted but some kind of cross breed creature does she learn her true identity. Now that that little tid-bit is out, the hunt is on for the one that wants her dead. Blaine and Wendy do get help from someone unexpected adding an interesting twist to things.
I thought that this story was well written, but things moved a little too fast for me. I liked the back story and learning about the characters and how they got to be where they are now. I enjoyed learning why they do what they do. But I found that I was not able to enjoy it as much because I am not one for a whirlwind insta-love type of romance. I prefer a little more build up and taking time to to make decisions and fall in love.
Vampire's Creed by Rain Grey is a very fast and entertaining read. The romance was insta-love. I'm not sure how I feel about it at the moment. It was so quick, it bordered on unbelievable. Everything was fast about this book, and not in a bad way. There was so much action and things just kept happening. This series has some promise. It kept me reading, and I'd like to see where it goes in future books. I rated it three stars, because I needed more from it, especially if this ends up being a stand alone story. Fingers crossed for more books in this series.
Vampire Creed by Rain Grey was kindly provided to me by Reading Addiction Virtual Book Tours for review. The opinions are my own.
This was an amazing novel I read it in two days and I loved every bit of it and couldnt put it down.
Definitely a must read for anybody into supernatural thrillers with a bit of erotic romance added to it.
This definitely starts out as a psycho sick twisted guy stalking an innocent shy girl.
Wendy's life changes in an instant. Whether it is for the better or not is for the reader to decide.
This novel unfolds secrets and stories untold about the mysterious creatures that are in the world without the vampires knowing.
Blaine oh my what a yummy hunk. This author does an amazing job of writing his character. I can imagine what he looks like what his demeanor and personality is like. All by how this author writes his character.
I really enjoyed this story, this was a great love story and kind of just a nice read. It was not a really long book but this has left I lot or room for Rain to make some great follow up books. The author made a great story with characters that makes me can't wait to see what comes next.
When I started this book I thought dang it slow and boring but I plugged on reading and it got better, I really wasn't expecting Wendy to be a goddess and be able to do mind control that was amazing great ending !
I was hooked since page 1. Wendy and blaine seemed like soulmates. A lot of chaos happens and she finds out her power. I actually like the idea of her power. But since she isnt like the others of her kind. She won't use her power for bad things.
I enjoyed the book, however it was about two totally different characters from the synopsis. This version was about Samuel and Alexandra right before the time of Napolean. I would love if there is a continuation of this version.
