“And what am I? Naught but a lowly Scot. A savage. A lesser soul?” “No. No. Never…Never. Never that.” “Then what?” His tone was ragged, his eyes red-rimmed. “What are you to me?” she asked. “Yes.” Her heart swelled. “Everything. You are everything to me.”
Lady Britannia Halsey has been betrothed to her beloved Peter for years. They grew up as the best of friends, but as fate would have it, her soldier was one of the less fortunate that did not return from the Battle of Waterloo nor was his body recovered. Britannia insists that he is not dead and continues to search for him refusing any other suiters. Unfortunately, her family is cursed by The Lucius Ring, and she has only 2 months left till her 25th birthday when the curse will take affect if she is not wed.
Charles, the “Annoying” Earl of Wick becomes quite taken with Lady Britannia and upon seeing a portrait of her Peter, tells her a story of his resemblance to his groom John. Determined to see if this “John” is her Peter, Britannia sneaks out under the guise of a young boy. But again, fate intervenes, and her journey is abruptly halted…and her course is altered.
Will Lady Britannia find her Peter? Will the Earl of Wick win the heart of Lady Britannia? Will true love conquer all? The clock is ticking and the curse is almost upon them!
Highly recommend this sweet regency read by Sabrina York!
This looks like a wonderful collection, my review is based on The Guardian Mist by Susan Stoker. I'll read the others later this month. A beautiful love story set in modern times with an ancient curse dating back generations. The modern day Prince Charming is looking for his princess, and the ordinary girl who spent her life dreaming of him. They meet by chance. Will they find true love? Will the curse be broken? Will they have their HEA?
One of the best collections I have ever read! Even better than the first book about the sword legend. I loved how they all linked and the ending brought it all together. You won't regret reading this one! I loved it!
I love all these authors. So different and yet the stories flow effortlessly. Each author brought their A game and delivered great tales of believing in love and following your heart. Side note. This is so different from anything I have read of Susan Stoker's and I loved her story dearly.
I really enjoy compilations of novellas and these stories are from the romance authors Ms. Kathryn Le Veque, Ms. Suzan Tisdale, Ms. Eliza Knight, Ms. Cheryl Bolen, Ms. Sabrina York and Ms. Susan Stroker ranging from medieval, historical, Scottish, regency, Victorian and contemporary. I have read several of these authors many works enjoying all of what they wrote so I knew this book was going to exciting and quite a joy to read. I know that I enjoyed the legend of the Theodosia sword rating it five stars so I was eager to see what new spin and different take each author would write about the ring. The only problem I think I had was at first the ring had a definite purpose and start but as the book progressed I did get lost and wondered how it went from one couple to another. In the first book there was continuity like each author beforehand conferred with each other or something and it made sense why the sword went from each couple to another. In this compilation I did tend to get lost and wonder how the ring’s travel went from not only one couple but from location to the next. I guess I would have liked to see that. I am not saying neither of the novellas was any good which is untrue. Each of them was written quite well and I was highly entertained by each of them and will probably read them again too. Overall I rated the entire book four stars below is a very brief description of each novella and what I would have rated them individually. The book starts off in ancient Rome with the prologue the beginnings of the Lucius ring which was given by Lucius out of love to his beloved wife Theodosia. Lucius was killed and Theodosia held onto the memories and the ring which seems to hold a mystical power will Theodosia find happiness again despite her lost love. The ring then travels to a different time 1145 somewhere on the road between Carlisle to Newcastle affecting the lives of the beautiful independent Valeria and her possible love interest of Tyren who is surrounded not only by mystery but by a “ghost” too. Both stories are by Ms. Kathryn Le Veque plus despite the length are full stories and I rated them four stars. The second part by Ms. Suzan Tisdale the ring ends up in Scotland in the year 1488 given to a young girl Valeriana but the girl grows up into a beautiful woman now known as Rianna looking for her father but still in possession of the doll and the ring now. Rianna while on the way runs into a childhood friend Aiden as they both travel to find Rianna’s father. I really enjoyed the story even though I felt it could have been a full length story because I wanted more still the story was good and I rated it four stars. The third part by Ms. Eliza Knight I think was my favorite since it had a female pirate which is a little unusual and her attraction and agreement to get the ring from the naval captain Lord Titus Graves. I always like pirate stories and really enjoyed this one rating the story five stars. The fourth story by Ms. Cheryl Bolen takes the ring to London 1788 and two sisters Annie, Fanny while attempting to catch the interest of the bored duke of Axminster Alexander Halsey. Alexander wants an exciting smart witty woman and he usually avoids most social functions but when it comes to meeting the Lord Tolworth’s family he can’t refuse especially when he comes into contact with the bewitching Annie. I enjoyed the story but wanted a good end for Fanny too. I still rated the story four stars I just wanted the story to be a little bit longer. The fifth story by Ms. Sabrina York the ring remains in London but now it’s 1817 to a widow Britannia who lost her betrothed in the battle of Waterloo and she thinks she will never find love again until Scottish Earl of Wick Charles. I loved the twist in this story and really wasn’t expecting it either but then again I have always loved Ms. York’s stories rating this story four stars since I kind of wondered about some of the characters. The last book by Ms. Susan Stoker finds the ring curse wreaking havoc on two sister’s lives Virinia “Rin” and Tina. One sister the supposed eldest Tina is adored and loved praise is heaped on her eagerly looking for love while her other sister ends up finding love and puts an end to the curse of the Lucius ring. I really liked this book rating it again four stars as well.
Kathryn le Veque, Susan Tisdale, Eliza Knight, Cheryl Bolen, Sabrina York and Susan Stoke has brought legend of time and love so far that you would wish that the legend of the Theodosia sword and ring is true. To have such history entwined with yours are like dreams coming true. Each of these authors have given many wonderful books on their own but combining their stories into one but two sets or more is so worth getting so much more. The legend of the Theodosia sword left us with out how Lucius had come to be in England and if his wife and family ever knew what happened and of course if they ever were together again these two books will give the answer and have you loving all the characters involved. You fall in love with these books and who knows...you'll probably want more from these wonderful talented authors.
Ever My Love: The Lore of the Lucius Ring (The Legend of the Theodosia Sword Book 2) I really enjoyed these Medieval, Historical, Scottish, Regency, Victorian and Contemporary novellas, The authors in this collection are. Kathryn Le Veque, . Suzan Tisdale, . Eliza Knight, . Cheryl Bolen, . Sabrina York and . Susan Stroker I have read other books by all these author except Susan Stroker Her story was the last & a great ending to these works , Though I was on the edge of my seat for the last couple of chapters quite the roller coaster .I will be looking for more works from this Author. Each Story could be a stand alone but they Simply Amazing when they are together. Yes I had a couple of favorite's But you will have to read this book for yourself to find out. WELL DONE YOU LASSES, WELL DONE!
I adored "With Dreams Only Of You: The Legend of the Theodosia Sword" so when this next related boxed set popped up, I immediately pre-ordered it. I'm so glad I did!
There is not one book in this entire boxed set that I didn't love. All the stories, written by such talented authors, flowed seamlessly into the next story about the Lucius Ring. There are several time periods represented, which were all fascinating. Each story was definitely sigh worthy!
Love the concept of this continuation. Two stories in particular are breath retaking Breath from the sea -it is sweeps ones heart with the dueling of two lovers. Call of the Wild -killer story of a highlander. And finally Guardian Mist - a modern day Prince Charming rescue!
I found this collection for free via my WishList. Average 3.7 stars TRIGGERS: promise of a gang rape - was this necessary? General: An okay collection, with plenty of errors from the authors, triggers, a nitwit had a knife but never used it when necessary, two good stories total, one story had too much competition for my taste, it was a little stupid too, and I hated the ending with the twin. In this collection too, the authors should have talked about names as there are some repeats through the generations or even in the same one. I was confused when someone fell in smelly waters but wouldn't take a bath afterwards. Some stories are predictable.
Does every girl believe in true love ? I did ,I really believed I would find the one who was meant for me. The one I was supposed to be with and that our hearts would know as soon as we met lol. Well it never happened and I'm the end journey of my life where fairytales never come true but at least I can feel that lost dream come alive when I read these stories. I will have to be content with that. I find myself dreaming again about the love I always hoped for that he is still out there somewhere and one day we will meet. Thanks for writing my true love to life over and over
I received an advanced copy of Eliza Knights book Breath from the Sea. It is a very interesting read that provides suspense and a true love story. Antonia is tasked with bringing a gift for the queen and while visiting she see that Lucius Ring. The queen knows the story of the ring and wants it gone. The queen asks Titus to send it away and Antonia hears the plan and decides, as a pirate, she wants the ring. She chases the ring and gets trapped in a deal with Titus that leads them both wanting more.
A fantastic read and I look forward to reading the other stories within the series!
This contains several short stories from different authors telling the story of The Lucius Ring as it falls through time. The prologue is The Lore of the Lucius Ring by Kathryn Le Veque. 1st story: Of Love and Legend by Kathryn Le Veque. 2nd story: Forever Her Champion by Suzan Tisdale. 3rd: Breath from the Sea by Eliza Knight. 4th: Only You by Cheryl Bolen. 5th: Call of the Wild Wind by Sabrina York. 6th: The Guardian Must by Susan Stoker
This was a good collection of short stories. Some, I thought could have been just a little longer, but all were delightful and engaging. I loved the continuity and that the legend was carried perfectly throughout.
I gave this 5 stars simply because it deserves the praise. Each character brought you closer to that feeling we all hope for, culminating into for ever after love. Read it, you won't be disappointed.
This is the second author cooperation around the stories of the Theodosia/Lucius descendants. Like the first series (which you don't need to have read to enjoy this collection), it includes a range Historical Romances (from the original Roman story through the Middle Ages to Regency) and finally a contemporary story. Quality and approaches vary and not everybody will enjoy all of the story, although this collection is a lot more even in its quality, than the first series and without wishing to spoil the stories there are some lovely characters in both stories and some the stories are deeply funny.
