Such a huge prick...
Tilly -
They call him The Donkey because of the size of his dick. I call him it because he’s a complete and total ass.

I hate Landon Maddox with a passion, and I haven’t even met him yet. Underwear model, star quarterback, arrogant, muscle-headed prick.

I never wanted a stepbrother in the first place, and now I have one that thinks he’s a God.

Seriously.

If his most famous asset isn’t beaming down at me from billboard posters all over the city, he’s spread across the front pages of every single newspaper, always for the wrong reasons.

Landon Maddox is everywhere I look, and now I have to spend the next seven days with him for real, squashed into a tiny cottage in the middle of nowhere.

I’m not even kidding. Family vacation with the man I spend my lifetime trying to avoid. Getting to know the enemy with nowhere left to escape.

That’s not the worse thing either.

Apparently there aren’t enough bedrooms for us all, which means The Donkey and I have to share.

Me and The Donkey in the same room together for a week? With that thing between his legs?

Now I know I’m definitely going to scream.

Landon -
There are two things I do better than anyone else on this planet - play football and please women - and right now I can’t do either of them.

One more front page headline that's not about football and my career is dead in the water.

As of now, I’m officially sworn off it.

Landon Maddox is out of the game.

No more late nights, no more bad behavior and definitely no more bed-hopping, until Coach says I can prove otherwise.

This vacation was his idea.

One week in the middle of nowhere to keep myself out of trouble.

No cell phone signal, no distractions and absolutely nothing to tempt me.

Maybe it’s just what I need to take my mind off it.

I mean, what can possibly go wrong?

I’m here with my family after all.

Donkey is an 80,000 word secret baby, stepbrother sports romance light on the sports and heavy on the steam!

3.5 Stars. Landon is a football player who earns his Donkey nickname for the size of his appendage. Lol I've got to admit the reason I started this book was largely curiosity. He and the heroine, Tilly, are newly step siblings and happen to meet and be stuck with each other on a "family" vacation. Their initial animosity toward each other eventually turns into sexy times but they've still got the whole family thing to figure out. The story is centrally focused on their time on that vacation. I really wish there was more to the story than that event. They do get their HEA but it feels rushed. All in all a decent read with plenty of sexy. Safety: No OW/OM/sharing. Neither are Vs. No rape/abuse.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

Story about a stepbrother and sister who try to deny they want each other, well she does anyways. He never denies himself anything so he just gets out the old condoms ready to get some.
Sorry but they don't even a have real conversation until after they have sex and they keep going on about his penis!!! Omg if I have to hear about a guys "meat" again I will lose my mind. I had no idea it was that much of a preoccupation! I found the book was hard to follow and the writing was all over the place. It was not a bad story after all the penis talk and how amazing he is at everything. It was better then some.
He is a manwhore who thinks only of getting laid and when he goes on vacation with his family he has been without so he is frustrated and takes it out on His stepsister. He is not that overwhelmed by her in the beginning in that I don't even remember the colour of her hair because he makes no mention of it or her eyes. There is very little touching and just sex. It's just not what I like in a romance.
So two stars for me!
I am sure I am just being picky, but for me it did not work.

Happy reading.

Review for Donkey by Stephanie Brother.

I'm going to openly admit, I only bought this book because of the insane title...I do like the step-brother troupe, the forbidden aspect is hot and with the laugh-out-loud ridiculousness of Sabrina Paige, I hoped that we would get some of that with Donkey. Alas, this fell short, over and over again.

My absolute biggest pet peeve is when an author doesn't do the proper research to fit the subject matter. Fiction is fiction, but if you are going to write about American Football... know your stuff. Or for example artists... I swear the references to her doing some "art" was ridiculous. Not a painting or a sculpture, but references about how she should "art" or her career choice is "art" what a vague concept. Completely lacking any sort of realism or depth. I was ready to bang my head on the desk.

My second biggest pet peeve...if you are going to write an American family... that resides in America... KNOW THE PROPER VOCABULARY! And, using "reckon" does not American it up, that's actually kind of insulting. It's not a garden, it's a yard or a lawn. We don't measure in meters. And about a hundred other things that were completely incorrect to the American culture.

Improper identification of the speaker in a scene was beyond ridiculous. It was nearly impossible to identify who was speaking when there were more than two characters in a scene... heck even when it was just Tilly and Landon, it was hard to identify at times.

I barely finished the book, in fact there were times that I skimmed pages of the thing just because it was so redundant and poorly researched. I wanted to enjoy this book, but the only redeeming quality is, in fact, one of the main reasons that Landon is called the Donkey...and it's not because he's a jerk.

One Star.

This needs a good editor to fix all the grammatical mistakes, repetitive rambling monologues, hard to follow dialogue, and incorrect cultural references and wording! Told via their dual POV, it’s the same stuff in their head over and over—she hates him but she’s constantly obsessing about him; he’s constantly obsessing about sex and how wonderful he thinks he is; they are both constantly obsessing about his huge dick. The two are totally immature, and their squabbling really is like listing to two immature children argue; there’s nothing feisty, steamy, or romantic about their banter. The H is so full of himself he becomes boring and unbearable to read about. All in all, the writing is just so awful that it’s hard to follow and even harder to relate to.

*I got this free from Amazon at time of purchase. It would be a rip-off at the regular $3.99 price with all the editorial issues.

😅😅HILARIOUS!!😅😅

This book is hilarious. I love the scene when Landon wakes up Tilly! 😃I laughed so hard!!😃 I don't want to give too much away but it's a really great book. There are a few places that could use a edit, but otherwise it was great 👍👍👍👍 I would give 5 stars but with the editing that needs to made it lost a star but definitely at least 4 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 good

I don't like to be mean in reviews, but I really don't have much [any] that's good to say about this book. It's supposed to be based in the US, however Americans don't talk like that (saying American football, kilometers/metres, on holiday, in hospital, wanking, and the super bowl final.) Had the book been set somewhere else, or even had foreign characters, I would not have minded the speech at all. But as it was set here, and all characters were supposed to be American, every time something was mentioned, it grated on my nerves.

Besides that giant pet peeve, I thought that the characters were all annoying, the "banter" was childish rather than hot, and the overall writing was juvenile and way too repetitive. I have read this author's stepsibling books before, and I don't remember having this big of a problem with them before, so maybe this was an early work and things have gotten better, or maybe it just wasn't for me.

I can't make myself suffer through this. I was looking for something mindless and a little silly. We get it his 🍆 is huge, you don't have to repeat it every couple of paragraphs🙄. The FMC is insufferable I get it ahead is 19 but lord girl get a grip. And the MMC while in his 20s lacks any emotional maturity. The forst half was them lathing each other while trying to be inappropriate.

Well it's sexy. Can't deny that. And some parts like silent sex behind thin walls are super cleverly designer sexy.

And it's written in amusing donkey-ish style.

So I can not not like this any more than you can not not dislike my triple negations. Prrrrr!

Hot and steamy!!

~~~I received an ARC of Donkey by Stephanie Brother for an honest review!~~~
Though I have read a fair share of Ms Brother’s step-brother romance books, this is the first ARC I have completed for her. I have a guilty pleasure for Ms Brother’s step-brother romances, they are generally well done and thought out.
Landon “The Donkey” is an amazing NFL player slash underwear model. He is a good looking, built man and he is well aware of the affect the size of his “physique” has on women. Thus his off field accolades have landed him in some deep crap with his coach that may end his career if he doesn't shape up. Hence the forced “family vacation” that is away from all forms of media and connection to women!!
Tilly has been following Landon's career forever, but it's his off field _ _oring, I mean scoring that has Tilly using his nickname in a different text. She hates him, without even knowing him personally, though she knows the media version of him.
Unfortunately for our couple, their parents have rented a cabin that only has two bedrooms, and with Tilly’s hatred of Landon, she refuses to share the bedroom with him and pulls the mattress out under the table every night. This imposed exile, I mean family vacation, definitely will be interesting since they have to interact and face what is right in front of them.
Some of the reasons I knocked it down a star were: 1. There was some confusion that I had whenever the football field was referred to as a pitch, I kept thinking he was a baseball pitcher. 2. I really can't think of any mother telling her grown daughter to share a room with a relative strange man, even though they were now step-siblings. And lastly 3. I truly could not figure out why Tilly's hated Landon so much, especially when they had never met before, I mean even if she didn't agree with his choice in extracurricular activities there is no basis for hating him.
While I had those hang ups, I still fully enjoyed the story and can confidently recommend this book to a mature audience who is fascinated with a good step-brother romance.
Loved Landon!
This is such a fantastic read. Tilly has never met Landon she read about him because he was a famous football player. He has a really bad reputation. But is it all true or is he a really nice guy?
Step brother taboo sports romance.
Forced into a family holiday she can’t get out of Tilly is horrified to end up having to share a room with her new step brother, a footballer, underwear model with epic proportions and also her long term crush.
Deciding to be a standoffish cow from the start just doesn’t work and soon enough they are sneaking around.
Landon is forced by his coach, club owner and dad to attend a family holiday following another scandalous tabloid story. Taking it in his stride he decides to take it as the break he needs until he meets his new stepsister.
Interesting story but my god the rambling inner monolgue of the two lead characters tested my patience at times...and that super fast ending/epilogue was just not satisfying.
Book ended at 53% and had another step brother taboo read included which I didn’t read.
Mehhh...decidedly underwhelmed but I have to admit I did only read it out of curiosity from such a crazy title. It wasn't truly horrible but I doubt I would read again.
Tilly and Donkey (what was his name again?...I can't even remember) are introduced as new step siblings and stuck at a cabin with the rents for a week. Tilly has some serious reservations as she's heard all the rumors about her new famous step bro. Obviously she wants his man meat but covers it up with animosity. Donkey is used to getting anything and everything he wants so he decides since he's on some forced celibate downtime from too many scandals that he'll mess with Tilly even though he's initally not into her. They end up having some fun and sneaky sexy times and decide they are in lust...I mean love with each other and we end up with a HEA.
This story is hot! What is it about the forbidden that makes it so appealing even when you want to deny it? Oh well, in this case it's definitely a bonus, it adds spice to a story that would already be great.
Prepare for moments where you need to be in front of a fan and moments where you want to laugh out loud, because this book delivers both.
The narration is excellent, the delivery s a great match for the various tones throughout the book and the character voices are distinct and believable.
I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher in exchange for an honest review.
AUDIOBOOK VERSION:
I was hooked from the first word. This book was so well written. The characters were well developed and intriguing. This book was full of so much witty banter that it kept me fully immersed the whole way. Loved it!
Narration was great!
One side note: there are some discrepancies regarding football in the book. It got a little confusing as he was an NFL player but the field kept being referred to as the pitch and his position seemed to change through the book. This was fairly minor in my eyes though. Just needed a little more research as NFL is not local to the author I do not believe.
Loved it
Tilly is 19 and a student at UNI. Landon is a pro football player. Landon is on restrictions with his football life cause of things that have happened landing him in trouble, he has to lay low for now no football or anything that'll get him in the news. They are stepsiblings.  Tilly can't stand Landon but yet Tilly and Landon have yet to meet do to their schedules not clicking that is until the family decides to go on a vacation together. Can spending time with Landon change the way Tilly thinks? What Will happen if sparks fly? What Will their parents and the world think? Will they get a HEA?
Well...
I can say that Tilly at first was so all over place. She wouldn’t allow herself to like Landon so she was overly snippy with him. But the she would talk about how she used day dream about him or how she knows so much about him. It was kind of irritating. But as soon as they were alone it’s like the tension snaps and all is right in the world.
Tilly allows herself to like Landon. And to develop feelings for him. And as I figured would happen they end pregnant because the morning after pill didn’t work and they end up engaged. No surprise. I’m not even surprised at well their parents took it. The parents kind of seemed like they suspected it.
Ok ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I finished this book, but I'm not really sure why. The characters weren't particularly well fleshed out, mature or even likable. The FMC was a spoiled brat (and not the good kind) and the defining characteristic of ’The Donkey’ was the size of his *eggplant emoji*. It read like it was written very quickly from the formula and the ending was rushed. It also desperately needs an editor or even a good proofread.
I tried to like the story i really did but there were too much over use of narrative of the Hero and Heroine thoughts and not enough simple dialogue between the hero and heroine....it was annoying.....we don't need to know all the thoughts that runs through their heads....in short...the part i enjoyed the most was the epilogue...
This one was hit and miss. The banter was hilarious. The smut was good. But the British vocabulary was jarring. The author used phrases like “American footballer” “Super Bowl final” and “at the end of the match”. Plus she used meters and other little things like that. Once you get into the authors writing style - which is a bit choppy and light but very British comedy style - it’s a fun read.
Confused
So I wasn’t sure if this was set in Europe or America. Maybe Canada? They mention New York being close. Yet no cell service? Poor hospitals? Americans say College and Teams not University and Club. I’m hop this book gets revised and rerelease.
