Rate this book
This novel is set in ancient Israel during the reign of King Ahab and his infamous wife, Jezebel. A rich merchant living in the capital city of Samaria becomes intrigued with a previously unknown prophet named Elijah who had the audacity to enter the king's palace and predict a three year drought. The more this wealthy businessman learned about the fiery man of God, the more his intrigue turned into an obsessive desire to interview him. However, he must outwit two separate royal troops who are on their respective missions to capture and possibly kill Elijah. Can the prosperous merchant locate the elusive prophet and convince him to come out of hiding long enough to answer a few questions?

I won this book through a Goodreads Giveaway in exchange for my honest review. Kevin Morgan's short novella is suitable for teens, also. Could even be used as a Bible Study. Yered ( fictional character) is obsessed with interviewing the mysterious Prophet Elijah. It is the 9th century BC. King Ahab and his Queen Jezebel sit on the throne of the Kingdom of Israel. Ahab has allowed Jezebel to lead the people even farther away from the worship of "the One True God", Yahweh. She has gotten the Jewish people to retreat further into the pagan worship of Baal and Ashterah. Elijah has used the miracle of fire from heaven to consume 450 of these false prophets; after they were unable to summon their gods to save them.
Elijah tells Yered that God uses miracles to get the attention of his people. However, to KNOW GOD, one must hear God's Word through preaching or listening for that still quiet voice in one's heart. Today we are fortunate to have God's Word, the Bible, to read, too! This is a fine Christian book to read and I enjoyed it.
