I received this book in exchange for an honest review. What freaking sweet book! I loved Noah and his devotion to protecting his loved ones, even if that means he cannot be there physically. At first I was torn on liking Raine in the beginning, but she grew on me. And in the end, no one will finish the story without needing a hankie. And I'm super concerned what's happened to Trent, or with Roxy? This was a great short read!
I found this as a freebie and since I've been reading other bear-shifter books and enjoying them I figured I'd give this short story a try.
It was...ok. I enjoyed the setup of the characters and even the slivers of plot, but I think the story could have been far better as a full story instead of a short one just so there'd be more time to explore. Now whole plotpoints and characters were brought up only to be dropped again or even worse rushed through.
The title promised me a secret baby. Was there a secret baby? Yes. Was the idea executed well? No, absolutely not. The reveal of 'baby'...the kid is 5 years old so why is there a baby on the cover????....was very underwhelming. Plus the time skip to the HEA immediately after was a letdown.
Overall not a bad book, but not great either. A good way to spend an hour relaxing and reading in the sun.
An entertaining fast pace book one in the Second Chance Shifters series! It is well written, well developed, emotionally deep, and consistent with drama, suspense, and more. The characters are likeable; the chemistry between them is off the charts! Looking forward to the next book for more information on the series arc. Definitely recommended!

I really enjoyed reading this book. The Author kept me interested where I couldn't wait to get to the next chapter. Ended to abruptly and I can't wait to read the extension at the end. My problem is, I'm visiting family and they don't have internet. I have to wait 3days until I go home and can connect to my internet.
3.5 Stars The story line and character work were good. There were some spelling and grammatical errors which kept the book from having a smooth flow to it. This was a good way to start a series. I look forward to the next one.

I enjoyed this book. It is full of emotions, love, shifters, second chances, suspense. It will keep you reading to see what will happen next with Noah and Raine. These two have a connection and steamy chemistry. A great start to this series. Looking forward to see what comes next.
I loved reading this shifter book. It has strong characters and was wonderfully written and the author is one of my favorites. I can not wait to see what is written next. I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves shifter books.

This was a totally absorbing book which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. All his life Noah had heard stories of shifters, but he dismissed them. His dad and brothers told him that one day his inner bear would break out and take charge of him – that it was his nature, his destiny – but he never did take them seriously. not until the day it actually happened, and there was no option but for Noah to run. Raine would never be safe around him anymore. 6-years ago Noah left without any warning; he was the love of her life but he disappeared and left no clue as to his reasons and no trace of his whereabouts. He had meant everything to her. Their connection had been all-consuming and when he had severed the tie between them she had felt completely lost and alone in the world, until she started up a relationship with Trent Sawyer. Not everything was perfect between them, but she knew he would never leave her. Noah and Trent had been rivals for Raine’s affections since they were children, but Trent never got over the fact that Raine chose Noah. Trent would do anything to put a wedge between them, but it didn’t stop Noah feeling jealous that Raine would be safer with Trent than him. When Noah finds out his cousin Mike is dead, he returns for the funeral. Noah and Mike had grown up together and had been best friends. When Raine and Noah meet up again all the feelings between them resurface; Noah feels the closeness, the passion, the fear and the all- consuming love he has felt for Raine since they were children – after all she is his mate. Raine and Noah were so engulfed in each other they didn’t see the huge angry predator that skulked into the woods. Once Raine sees Noah and Trent fighting in their animal forms, Noah now knows it is time to tell Raine everything; the family history, the curse, the shifting, all of it – but Raine wanted to know why he hadn’t told her 6-years ago, when they could have dealt with it together. Not only that Raine has a surprise all of her own. A well-written interesting book, which I would have no hesitation in recommending. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is the first time reading anything by Ursula Maya and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this great story. Ursula Maya has given us a story that just sucks us in and keeps us there from start to finish and leaves us wanting more from this author. This is Raine's and Noah's sweet story.Noah is a shifter who decided to leave his home town after he first shifted into a bear ,he feared he would hurt the people he loved the most like his family and Raine . So he left and went to San Diego ,and now is fishing. He was far away from Raine and his family 's ranch which is in Alaska ,which he was supposed to take over for his dad. But now Raine is moving on with her life ,with the heir to a oil industry who at one time Noah despised, then one day Noah got a call from his brother ,that his cousin Michael had die on an oil rig. But Noah ran into the beautiful Raine and all their feels from the last 6years ago came rushing back all at once ,like no time had ever pasted between them at all. But poor Noah is heartbroken just by seeing what he had given up .Raine claims that she's happy with her life the way it is ,and she makes it very clear that she has settled for the man that she's happy with. But what do their have in common ,and their have opposing views on many things. After seeing Raine he knows that he can ever leave again ,specially after she tells him about the secret that she has been hiding for the past 6 years. This story was such a sweet and touching story that was a quick and enjoyable read ,but the ending to me was so sweet. I could go on and tell you more about this touching story but that would spoil it for you. I highly recommend that you read this sweet story ,you won't be disappointed.
Noah is conflicted and unhappy. When he first shifted into a bear, he feared he would lose control and hurt everyone he loved, including Raine and his family. So he left and now fishes near San Diego, far from Raine and the family ranch in Alaska where he was meant to take over for his father. Raine, not knowing anything about why Noah left, has finally moved on with the heir to the oil industry and a man Noah despises. When reunited after the death of Noah’s cousin and best friend Michael on one of the oil rigs, Noah runs into Raine and their feelings of six years ago come flooding back as if no time has passed. Noah’s situation is heart breaking. The pain of everything he has given up and his resignation in the life left to him are palpable. Raine, however, claims to be finally happy with her life. However, as you hear little details of her life, it is clear she has settled for the man she is with. They have very little in common and opposing views on many important things. However, he showers her in gifts and jewels and so she feels cherished. The love story between Noah and Raine is very touching. The easy acceptance they have for each other is sweet and provides a relief from the heart break. The story is very short though so there are some characters such as Maya, Noah’s friend in San Diego, who seem important in the beginning but then drop out of the story later except for minor references. I would have liked to see her fleshed out a little more. This was a fun, short, sweet read.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book from the author. I swore I would never read a book about Shifters I thought the whole idea of it was creepy and weird. Well I don't say this very often but I was wrong (I would never say that in front of my kids), this is the third one I've read so far and I actually really liked them all. Noah didn't like the changes he was experiencing so he left his family and his one true love, Raine and fled his small town without telling anyone. Raine was devastated when Noah left her with no explanation as to why then six months later her parents were killed in an airplane crash. It's now six years later and Raine is engaged to Trent who was always Noah's nemesis and she's running her family's diner by herself. Noah is working as a fisherman in San Diego, living a simple life and keeping to himself until he gets a phone call from his brother telling him that his beloved cousin died. Noah is nervous to return to his home town something he swore to himself he would never do but he must go to his cousin's funeral. When he sees Raine he knows there is no way he can leave her again, especially when she tells him what she's been hiding for six years. This was a quick but very entertaining read and the ending was really sweet.
A Second Chance Romance is a wonderful fun, quick anytime read, with a couple boohoo moments 5 stars
Noah is a bear shifter but he never really believed what his father had been telling him for years, till now. And instead of asking his father what he should do, he runs away. But by leaving he will also leave behind the one girl who owns his heart. ( I was like "you idiot lol ) He thinks he's saving her from what he now has become.
Raine has loved Noah since they were kids but when he just ups and leaves one night she's devastated. ( this was one of my boohoo moments ) Shortly after that Raine looses both her parents in a accident. ( OMG, poor thing )
Six years later will bring these two face to face with the harsh reality that no matter what, their love for each other is still there. ( Aww ). But Raine is engaged to someone who is also hiding a secret. What is she gonna do? And what happens when Noah isn't the only shifter in town, giggles.
I was gifted an Advanced Reader Copy by the author through email for my honest review of the book. Reviewer for Nook Books and More.
This was a story about a guy named Noah who turns into a shape shifting bear. He is in fear of hurting the love of his life Raine, so he decides to leave without saying goodbye or giving Raine closure. Raine not only has lost her love Noah who skipped out of town but also the loss of her parents. She ends up running her parents cafe. Years pass and Raine starts to date Trent, who is the son of shady famous oil drillers. Something happens that causes Noah to come back home. Will Noah and Raine pick up where they left off? Noah knows he will have to tell Raine his secret eventually. Will Raine forgive Noah? Will these long lost lovers get a second chance at love and happiness? This was my first book from Ursula Maya. I enjoyed the story. I liked the characters. It had drama, secrets, shape-shifting, passion and love. All in all, it was a great book and I can't wait to read more from this author.
What a sweet story and one of 2nd chances. This story is about Noah who is a shifter and his decision on leaving everything and everyone behind even the woman he loves who is called Raine because he's just figured out he can shift and he's afraid he'll hurt her, so he stays away for 6 yrs trying to get the shifting under control then one day he gets a phone call that someone has died in the family and hes on the next flight and he knows he's going to have some explaining to do when he gets there he finds out that Raine is seeing Trent Sawyer and he doesn't like Trent because Trent has a secret..and so does Raine if you want to know you need to get this book you won't be disappointed. Thank you Ursula Maya for allowing me to read this book I really enjoyed it. I received a free arc in exchange for an honest review.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book, it follows the story of Raine Winters, the broken hearted owner of the Honey Bean Cafe, and Noah Carlton, a werebear shifter who is keeping his secret from the only girl he's ever loved. When Noah is forced to run in the middle of the night, he leaves Raine behind in an attempt to keep his secret. When a tragedy forces him to come home, one glance at Raine, and all the love comes rushing back. Will she want to forgive Noah? Will he be able to stay this time? This author's book was new to me, and it is a quick read with a lot of ups and downs throughout the story. I am looking forward to reading the next installments to see what happens with these two next.
Noah and Raine are separated by his secrets. Both try to live a life without one another but it is like a piece of them is missing. When he returns to town, secrets are revealed and healing has a chance.
I enjoyed the story and the characters. Noah loves Raine and sees no way to be with her. He is miserable without her but wants to protect her. Raine tries to make the most of her like and options. She knows it is not the same but she needs someone. His return opens the wounds and gives them a chance at the relationship they lost due to fear. They have an amazing connection and you can feel the pain at their separation and their desire to reclaim that love.
Received this complimentary arc copy from the author for an honest review Oh what a beautiful but at times sad story. Noah, to lose precious time with family because you ran away. Ran because it was hard to come to terms with being a shifter. You always loved Raine but couldn't tell her. Raine misses Noah every day but never knew why he left. Now she is with Trent. He seems too good to be true. Loved the way love surfaces again for Noah and Raine but you just knew it would. If only Noah would have told Raine his secret. Loved this story , it was short and sweet with a few dramatic moments but the ending was the sweetest ever. Loved it all.

SECRET BABY BEAR by Ursula Maya
Ryan leaves everything behind when he becomes terrified he might hurt those he loves, with his shifts. So he puts space and distance between his family and the woman he loves, and runs without even saying goodbye. Years later a tragedy occurs in his family, and he returns to face his past. But there are a few surprises in store for Ryan, that he wasn't expecting.
I loved this book. A entertaining storyline which had a few twists, that kept you intrigued. The characters were really sweet and likable. A book filled with drama, excitement, and romance. A very enjoyable read!
Darling little shifter love story about undying love and second chances. Noah experiences his first shift and becomes terrified that he might hurt his love, Raine, if he couldn't control the strange phenomenon. So he puts distance and time between them. Without saying goodbye, he runs away. After a few years, a death in his family draws him back to face his past and the love he never got over. Exciting confrontation with Raine's boyfriend and a surprise she has in store for Noah. I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review. Well written and a joy to read. Five stars.
Noah comes face to face with his family's secret and he runs for fear of hurting the one he loves most. Raine not only loses Noah, but months later loses her parents as well. Some how she manages to stay a kind loving woman. Another tragedy brings Noah home; and Raine wants some answers. They both have pretty big secrets to share. This was a fast, sweet second chance story. My first book by Ursula Maya, I believe. I look forward to checking out more of her work. I was given an arc for an honest review.
I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review, and in it Ursula has brought together two of my favorite genre's, shifters and second chance romance. Noah left the love of his life Raine with no explanation, when his family secret makes itself known, devastated, Raine tries to get on with her life, never once forgetting her lost love...fast forward six years, and Noah is back to claim his woman, but is he too late?...I really enjoyed this book, and will definitely be reading more from Ursula...
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. When Noah left home he left a pics of his heart with Raine. While he thought he was protecting her and everyone from his bear, he left without knowing Raine's secret. Now 6 years later he is back and knows he can't ever leave Raine again, that is even more true when he realizes she is his mate and learns her secret. I enjoyed this quick read from Ursala Maya.
I really enjoyed this sweet story of bear shifter Noah and Raine. Noah had heard the stories of the shift, but didn't believe it so when it happens he makes a decision that is painful for the both of them. I felt for them both, so many changes and sadness. I love the connection between them, something that has always been there. Good bits of action and intensity. I am hoping we get to see more about Noah's brothers!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I very rarely like second chance romances, even if they are paranormal, but I actually enjoyed reading this one.
Noah and Raine have had many obstacles and meddlers that have tried to keep them apart. But in the end when fate has given you a mate, you can be sure you will be together.
However, I do wish there was a bit more information on why Noah's family and Trent's are like sworn enemies.
This was a sweet story about second chance at love. Noah sacrifices his happiness to protect his family and his true love. After experiencing his first shift Noah becomes terrified he'll hurt Raine, so he runs away and doesn't look back. Six years later he returns home after the death of his cousin and best friend. Will Raine forgive him? This was great read and really enjoyed it. Received copy for honest review
I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review. This was a sweet second chance romance story that I really enjoyed. Noah and Raine have this undeniable connection that is very evident after 6 years apart. I would love to read more about the couple and I felt the story could of been developed more than it was, other than that it was a great short read!
I enjoyed this book the writing was great and I loved story line. Noah ran away when his animal surfaced as he was afraid he would hurt Raine the women he loved. Raine still loves Noah but is finally dating again. That is until Noah blows back into town. The question is can they put their lives back together. I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.
