Questions, Questions, Questions! All Christians have them and this book answers most of them. Whether you are a new Christian or a seasoned Bible believer you will find the answers you are looking for. The authors have divided this book into two sections. The first section answers questions about your personal relationship with God and others. The second half talks about the Bible and the Church.
There are fifty-one questions in the first section. What is prayer and how do I pray are two of these questions. The authors describe prayer as a deliberate turn of your mind towards the Lord.
They also explain that you pray by approaching God with a sincere and heartfelt faith. There are forty-three questions in the second section. What is a parable and what is baptism are two of these questions. An earthly story with a heavenly meaning is the definition to a parable. Baptism is described as an outward expression of the inward change of becoming a believer.
Each question in this book is followed with an easy to understand explanation. The authors use Biblical references throughout and thoughtful stories to help you understand the more complicated questions. This book can be a great help when witnessing and should be on every Christian’s bookshelf.
I was given this book by christianreviewofbooks.com to review
this is a great book, that brings up some questions and answers, that christians and non-christians, may have on their mind. It is an easy and interesting book, even comical at times (Where one might least expect it!) The answers were complete, and satisfying, and I would certainly recommend this life to those who are searching for God.
This is a guide to new Christians but also a good basic review for believers in Jesus.
I will say for most church-attenders, much of this book will seem redundant. However, I did learn some new facts about Christianity, like: * 1/3 of Jesus’ words in Matthew, Mark, and Luke are all parables. * Good reminder for me: if engaging in Bible Study, or an exploration of a Biblical or prayerful topic, involve others in my church/fellowship who will mutually encourage. * Protestants have 2 Sacraments or “traditions,” while Catholics have 7.
This is a good book for those who are new Christians or who are exploring Christianity. I have been a born-again Christian for over 28 years. I certainly don't have all the answers, but I didn't learn much from this book.
I am a big fan of Arterburn, and his books, early on in my Christianity exploration, were pivotal. This is certainly one of those. It just wasn't right for me at the time.
I like how it is geared with the question presented, and then 2-3 pages answering that question.
I really liked this book. It answers basic questions about who God is and how to relate to him in a personal way. It is not preachy but really makes your see that god is love and all he wants back is to be loved.
This was a good book. Basics, interspetive, and thoughtful. Humor was a little cheesy but a fast read. Can read from cover to cover or check the table of contents for specific questions.
