It’s possible to find love even in a time of war.

Delevan has seen almost everyone in the pride find their mate and live happily ever after, and he’s tired of waiting for his turn. He might be happier than he’s ever been before, but he’s still missing something, and he wants to find it.

The last thing Blair expected when he moved to Whitedell to train was to meet his mate, and he certainly didn’t expect to be paired to Alpha Dominic Nash’s son. Not only is Blair a bit intimidated by Alpha Nash, but he’s also committed an unpardonable faux pas—before meeting Delevan, he slept with Benjamin, one of the few single pride members.

Before Delevan and Blair manage to dissipate the tension between them, the mole finally reveals himself and puts Delevan’s life in danger. Delevan survives, but how will what happened to him, and the mole’s identity, influence his relationship with Blair? Will Delevan finally find the piece he’s been missing, or will he lose everything to the hunters?

Catherine is the creator of several series, most of them paranormal, including the Whitedell Pride Series and the Gillham Pack Series. While she graduated in translation, she decided to go the writer’s way because it was more fun to create her own stories and characters.
She’s been living in Italy for more than twenty years, but she’s a daughter of the North—Belgium to be precise—and she misses it so much that she’s already planning to move back.
She loves pizza—probably too much —her pets, and of course, books. She sneaks some reading time in her schedule every time she has five minutes free from writing, demands from her various pets and son, and lastly, housework.

This was book 20 in the "Whitedell Pride" series. Delevan who is Dominic's son has watched is pride and friends find mate and he wants his he is lonely and jealous. Blair who is a dragon comes to the mansion to train with Ira is a fun loving guy who hooks up with one of the pride members Benjamin. He walks into the kitchen and he knows instantly that Del is his mate. Blair is a little nervous because of Dominic and the fact that he hooked up with Benjamin. The mole has been revealed when Bradley tries to kidnap Del he stabs him when Del refuses to go with him. When Nysys plays a joke on Blair with w doll that looks like Nysys they play one bad on him and go to far leading Keenan to believe that Nysys is dead it was funny. Keenan and Nysys have met their match in Blair. Although these two have bed sharing a bed for weeks that have yet to have sex and mate Del who doesn't want to talk about his feelings and Blair was feeling guilty about having sex with Ben. When Del is hurt he realizes that he hasn't been acting like himself. I wanted more from this book it was good that they now know who the mole is but I think for me I wanted more feelings in it. I don't really have a problem with the mating of interspecies but this seemed weird to me I mean Blair is a komodo dragon and a lion shifter. Also these two never said how they felt about each other. Blair was worried about how Dominic would feel and he just wanted his son to be happy. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

First I would like to bring to attention that these MCs are both supposed to be alomst six and a half feet, yet on the book cover (like most of her book covers) they look like 15 year old boys. It is a major turn off for me to have a book cover of characters who don't fit their description.

That being said, I don't enjoy these books as much as I used to. The threats to these people are never ending. They were taken or sold so scientists could experiment on them, hunters are after them, old alphas want the coucil gone, now the cops. There are 20 books in this series alone and I'm getting a headache trying to keep up with all the drama.

This story was sort of sweet.

It was a bit different from previous books in the series as far as the mating went. There was no instant claiming which is the norm in this series. It was a bit refreshing, but still it did not feel like it fit into the rest of the series.

The series over all has lost its momentum long ago, and I'm preparing to let it go even if there still are stories left to be told. Hate leaving things unfinished!

Delevan is the son of Alpha Dominic, leader of the Whitedell Pride. We first met him way back in book…eight??…when he turned up at the pride mansion, hoping to connect with the father he never knew. That was a year ago, and for that year Delevan has been living amongst the other shifters, watching as one after another found his mate and a love that made each shifter’s life complete. Delevan hungers to find that connection for himself, so when Blair wanders in to pride kitchen and the two men smell “mate” on each other, Delevan doesn’t hesitate to seize onto Blair. The idea that the two men may not stay together never occurs to Delevan, but unfortunately, it doesn’t seem that straight forward to Blair.

This story actually begins by overlapping the timeline from the previous book in the Whitedell Pride series, and if you’ve read that book then you know that something rather unfortunate befalls Delevan. I loved the way the author went back and recovered that incident from the perspective of Delevan and Blair considering they were the main people involved. I felt myself tense up as I recognized what was about to happen, even though I knew it would all be okay in the end.

The romance between Blair and Delevan was all well and good, but what I enjoyed most about this book was the interactions between Blair, Keenan and Nysys. Now, I’m about to say something here that may get me lynched by Whitedell fans, but…as much as I love Keenan and Nysys, sometimes they really skirt the line between entertaining and annoying. (OK, who threw that shoe at me!?) Don’t get me wrong, they’re adorable, but sometimes I find their personalities overwhelm a story and take too much attention from the MCs. However, Blair and Delevan were both strong enough characters that Nysys and Keenan getting so much page time only added to the fun tone of this book.

Yep, that’s right. Somehow, amidst the violence and misunderstandings of this story, there is a distinctly fun feel with this addition to the series which I think was really needed at this point. This is obviously a long series (though it is sadly nearing its end) so I think the author’s ability to switch pace and keep readers interested is worth noting.

The Whitedell Pride series should be read in order (so you’d best get reading!)

This title was originally reviewed for Prism Book Alliance®

Probably my least favorite cover of the series, but not one of my least favorite books. Maybe it is the pink background or the fact that models don't scream "Delevan and Blair" or even "sexy" or "hot" to me. Don't know. I was a bit luke warm on this cover. But let's be honest, the covers aren't what keep me coming back time and again to this series. That keep me eager for the next installment.

I am all about the Whitedell Pride Series, and was so excited to read Delevan's story, and was it as good as the rest of the series? You bet it was, this is one of my favorites now!

Delevan is the son of the Alpha, so when he discovers that Blair, the enforcer staying with the pride for a while is his mate, he thinks that the missing piece of him has been found. Blair however, is wary of how the Alpha will react to his son's mate, and there may be something he needs to tell Delevan before they go any further.

Will Delevan be ok with Blair's actions before he knew he had a mate? More importantly, will Delevan even be able to see his mate again to talk to him, or will the evil bigger than any of them know that has been lurking get to him first?

Oh man is this book a great one, not only do we get answers to questions we have really wanted answered, we get to see 'the gang', which is like catching up with old friends! You will love this book just as much as I did for sure! Thanks Catherine, for keeping this series just as captivating as it was at the beginning!!

Oh man, I just adored everyone in this story. I loved how this overlapped with the last book, and I really enjoyed reading about Delevan and Blair. But honestly? I think I loved the friendship between Nysys, Keenan, and Blair the most! I loved their banter, I loved Blair teasing Nysys about when they first met. So many great things in this story, and in this series.

I hope Ben's story is next!

I will miss this series when it's over. I hope that the Gillham pack doesn't mind visits from Whitedell pride members! ;)
