A woman of mystery…

Jetty is a huntress of the deep ocean who finds herself fascinated by a man—a shifter—who sets anchor in her realm day after day. She is obliged to watch him, not fully understanding the fascination the handsome stranger compels within her battered heart.

A man with hidden scars…

Recovery from major injury isn’t easy. While Drew’s physical problems have been addressed and cured, the emotional scars from his battlefield catastrophe are harder to heal. He seeks the solace of the ocean even more than the welcome company of his former military comrades in the town of Grizzly Cove. When they give him a mission to make contact with an elusive mermaid, he’s more than willing to give it a try.

A people in danger…

Jetty and Drew will have to work together if they are to bring the mer people into the protection of the cove. They will both face the terror of the deep. Will they be strong enough to overcome its evil? And will their love be strong enough to overcome the injuries of the past that have left them both slightly broken in different ways?

This is the 6th book in the Grizzly Cove series by Bianca d'Arc. It can be read as a stand alone but why not get to know all the residents and ongoing story arc ahead of time.

This is Drew and Jetty's story. Drew is one of the founding bear shifters of the Cove. He and his fellow military brothers work together to make the cove a safe place for shifters to live. Drew was severely injured on their last assignment and hasn't quite recovered mentally from that toll. to clear his head, he spends a fair bit of time out in the ocean fishing.

We met Grace, a mermaid, in the previous story. Jetty is her teammate and she has spent a lot of time spying on the handsome bear Drew. Their's is a pretty typical shifter romance. They are true mates. Not much lead up to them being together. But in this story, not only do we meet Mermaid Jetty, we meet ALL the Mermaids! Seriously, well some Mermen, too, but MERMAIDS.

So what really makes this series for me is the wonderful world building by this author. the reader is grabbed from the first description and is made to really be invested int he outcome for this group of paranormals. Just the setting alone will make you want to fall in love---tall trees, Pacific Northwest, beautiful beach, friendly people---sigh---I'm ready to move.

This is a fairly short book. There are a couple of novellas in the series as well. It won't take long to get caught up to book 6. I suggest you read them all. Great summer read!

I am so enjoying this series. I really love the characters. Each book gets better and better. You will soon find yourself engrossed within this series.

And I'm not saying that just because I love bear shifters.

I do love bear shifters but loving them isn't good enough. I also need a well written story to go along with my sexy bear and I found that in D'Arc's Grizzly Cove series.

Even though the stories are novella length you won't feel like you're missing something. D'Arc does a wonderful job of giving you a full story.

I really like Drew. He's so laid back, or at least he is on the surface. There's more to him than meets the eye. And I'm not talking about the fact that he changes into a bear.

You will also like Jetty, she's careful around Drew and his people but soon finds she likes to be around them. Now that the mer folk are in Grizzly Cove I can't wait to see where the story line goes.

I really enjoy this series and while it deals with some heavy supernaturals at times it tends to be a bit more refreshing. Drew is one of the founding members of Grizzly Cove and while bears are typically loners these are doing well living around others. They are working towards building a thriving community. On his last assignment Drew was injured and still has fully recovered mentally yet. It is this reason that he spends so much time out on his boat fishing. It brings him a sense of peace and calm.

He has been told by Grace, a mermaid we met int he last book, to be on the lookout for Jetty, another mermaid who loves to watch Drew while he is out on the water. Of course Drew and Jetty are mates and the story is about them being together as well as working together with the other shifters, witches, and mer-people to defend the evil that is trying to overtake Grizzly Cove. I have to say that Drew so far has been one of my favorite bears! He is just awesome.

As I said I love this series and I honestly think it is because Bianca D'Arc has done such an amazing job of creating not only Grizzly Cove but the characters. Even the evil that is brewing you can feel as you read the words. She works hard to ensure that each character is well developed and even though the stories are short I in no way felt as though I was cheated out of any part of the story.

Drew felt the calm of the ocean, not knowing why. He battled nightmares of the wars be fought.

Jetty is a huntress of the deep ocean who finds herself fascinated by a man—a shifter—who sets anchor in her realm day after day. She is obliged to watch him, not fully understanding the fascination the handsome stranger compels within her battered heart.
Drew was at ease on water of the ocean. He insisted on going out onto the water, even though there was trouble in the depths. He seeks the solace of the ocean even more than the welcome company of his former military comrades in the town of Grizzly Cove. When they give him a mission to make contact with an elusive mermaid, he’s more than willing to give it a try. Grace was saved by a bear shifter, she had to warn her mer people. Her friend, Jerry was the perfect one to contact. Drew could do this mission. He seemed to seek the solace of the ocean even more than the welcome company of his former military comrades in the town of Grizzly Cove. When they give him a mission to make contact with an elusive mermaid, he’s more than willing to give it a try. He helped because he wanted to.

Drew hasn't quite found internal peace after surviving an almost mortal wound... only on the ocean does he find some measure... and his 'magic' allows him to block the other magical creatures (like the Leviathon) from sensing him...

and Jetty, of the Hunting Party for the local mer colony, has been fascinated with him, watching and wondering about him... Grace sends him out with a message to Jetty and the colony - they're threatened by the leviathon, they are welcome to take refuge in their protected cove...

He calls out to her... she jumps into his boat, into his arms... and the rest is history....

This is a sweet romance between a bear shifter named Drew and a mermaid named Jetty. When Drew was out on his boat fishing, he felt a presence watching him. This presence is Jetty, a mermaid, who has been drawn to him. Drew and the bear shifters are doing all they can to protect all shifters, to include the mer, from the evil in the ocean. Jetty and Drew work together to save her pod of mer. As Jetty spends more time with Drew, they fall deeply in love and find their happily ever after.

Mermaids!

The Net seem a bit cold but they are a great addition to the cove. This romance was really fast as the author laid a history. The logistics of being a water creature is really explored well and covered all the obvious questions. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

It Is Amazing!

It's hard to imagine having mer-people and were-bears living together. This book is a great one and, to me, has great ideas about how we should be able to live together in spite of our differences.

Bearliest Catch is the sixth book in Bianca D'Arc's Grizzly Cove series. A standalone shifter/paranormal romance, it centers around Drew, a bear shifter and Jetty a mermaid. There is an overarching plot in these books which doesn't necessarily detract from the main story line. However, its a great plot device that is better appreciated when all books are read in order.

In Bearliest Catch, we find Drew, fishing alone in his boat, cloaked by his own magic from the evil that threatens all creatures of the Light. His senses detect that he is being watched but it doesn't really feel like a threat. It comes to him that it could be one of the mer people, specifically Jetty. Jetty has been watching Drew for the longest time. Attracted by his almost sad and lonely demeanor, she longs to comfort him but shies away from contact with the land because of her own problems from the past. When they do make contact its for the safety of the mer people but its also something stronger that brings them together. The bonds of being mates. Now Jetty and Drew must work together to bring her people to the safety of Grizzly Cove before a malevolent and ancient evil decides to feast on the mer people's magic.

Shifter romances centers around the concept of mates, or that one true being meant for you. This book is no exception. However, what makes this one really great is the simple yet intricate world building of Grizzly Cove. Each secondary characters, each part of the Grizzly Cove community seems alive and in its own way a separate character in itself. Despite the length which is relatively short, readers get a sense of a complex world where bear shifters and other paranormal and magical beings exists and it comes alive. The romance between Jetty and Drew is more concentrated on the emotional development between them. Despite the physical attraction being strong surprisingly its their emotional vulnerability and their opening up to each other that is the center of their romance. Sometimes it did feel overpowered by the paranormal suspense plot however it didn't detract on the sweetness and simmering chemistry between Jetty and Drew. Bearliest Catch is a great addition to the Grizzly Cove series and the next book can't get here soon enough.

There is just something about a romance that takes place near the ocean. The setting of nautical romances is just so dreamy to me. Maybe it’s that I’m rarely near oceans, lakes, rivers, etc. that I fantasize about heroes on boats. And, of course, nautical romances make perfect beach reads. Actually, I’m pretty darn sure Bearliest Catch is just about the perfect summer book all around. There is the vacation-like setting of Grizzly Cove, the made-for-each-other mates romance of Drew and Jetty and mermaids. MERMAIDS everyone! If you are looking for a relaxing book to read on vacation or something to read on your mental vacation during the lunch hour, Bearliest Catch is the perfect choice.

Drew and Jetty’s story is pretty light on the “get to know you” stuff up front. They are mates, ya know? They just go together like PB&J. So from the moment Drew and Jetty met there was never any question for me that these two wouldn’t have an HEA. They made so much sense together and they, rather quickly, filled voids in each other’s lives. I didn’t feel cheated out of romance and character development with this book, though. Drew wined and dined Jetty and the two had an emotional connection that intensified rather than remaining stagnant. Some of my favorite scenes of the book included Drew trying to woo Jetty. Seriously, what a great guy. I need a Drew (ASAP please)!

I read Bearliest Catch as a stand-alone. It was my first introduction to Grizzly Cove and although I was a tad bit lost in the beginning, D’Arc did a wonderful job of catching us newbies up. I’m not sure I’ll go back to read the other books, but the next Grizzly Cove book will be an auto-buy for me. I can only hope that we’ll get to revisit Drew and Jetty in future D’Arc books!

Another great book

This next addition to this series is amazing. Blanca D'arc has a way of making a story come to life and keeps you engulfed in the story and characters alike till the end and wanting more. I have read this whole series and I have also read all the connected series as well and can't wait to see what's next and I have to see it as soon as possible. Drew and Jetty are perfect together as a couple and I really like it when and how the women are as equal to the men and sometimes more powerful but not by doing anything else but by being themselves. I'm sitting on the edge of my seat in anticipation of how all these series will come together as one for the final battle with the Leviathan and it's master Elspeth and all her dirty little minions. It will be hard to see it all come together as we won't know who is left standing in the end as well as having to see it be over unless Bianca's got something really good up her sleeve. I really recommend starting first with The Brotherhood but you don't have to these can be read as standalones without much difficulty it just gives you a better understanding of what's happening in the background and what's happened to get them all to this point. No matter where you start you will find a great read as well as a great cast of characters in every single book as you explore this fantastic world that Bianca D'arc has created for us.

Drew is ex Special Ops. He was retired after being gravely injured. He now lives in the Grizzly Cove community amongst his comrades who served with him in the army. He is a werebear.

Jetty is a protector for the mer folks' community. She has a fascination for the tortured fisherman who seems to enjoy his own company.

Drew is tasked with passing a message to the mer folks after one of them was rescued by the werebears. He goes on a fishing journey to get away from it all as he is at his best when surrounded by water. He has the sensation that he is being watched and decides to take the plunge and calls out to his watcher who happens to be Jetty.

Jetty comes on board and there is an instant attraction between them. He gives her the message and she realises that they might all be in danger if he is telling the truth. They are being hunted by a leviathan, an evil giant multi tentacles creature, for their magic. Drew has the ability to shield which helps to elude the monster. Can the mer folks and the werebears work together to escape the havoc from this creature?

This is a short novel about finding one's mate and working together to overcome evil. It's well put together with endearing characters and a good scheme.

I received an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

In this short book of the series, we focus on Andrew, aka. Drew. He is the fisherman of the bears and frequently goes out at night. His ability allows him to go out to fish without the Leviathan noticing. How handy is that? What does he do on this particular night when he is out there and his spidey senses start tingling? Drew is sent with a message from Grace for Jetty, if he ever comes across her. John, the Alpha, also sends a message of his own. What messages do they send? What happens when Drew does finally get to talk to Jetty? When he takes her out to where her scout team is at, what do they find? What happens on the way back to Grizzly cove? When they get there, Drew has already had Jetty call ahead, the crew is waiting to assist them. What happens after that? When Drew and Jetty head back out to sea to take two others out, what is said? What does Jetty see the next morning when she goes outside on Drew's porch to drink her morning cup? What happens at that point? It is pretty interesting and leaves on a bit of a cliff hanger, but not a true cliff hanger. Just enough to keep you anticipating the next book in the series! Keep up the good work Ms. D'Arc.

I loved this book. This book is a great continuation of Bianca D'Arc Grizzly Cove series.

Jetty has been watching her sailor for months now.. little did she know what would transpire once they official met.

Drew's only peace over the years had been when he was out on the water.

When Grace, his friend's mate, had asked him to give Jetty a message from her to prevent her worry, and he dived in at the chance to talk to her.

This was a great love story of how they helped each other heal scars from their pasts.

Drew and Jetty would stop at nothing to help and protect each other even fighting the evil monsters that is lurking and preying on magic users.

This is great series to read with a lot of awesome characters and cannot wait to see what is in-store for Gus and the others who have yet to find their mates.

WOW!!!!!! I am really enjoying reading this series!!!! In Bearliest Catch their is a grizzly bear shifter name Drew, he has nightmares and goes to the sea to fish and forget. Every once in a while he feels like someone is watching him...

While fishing one day Drew gets that feeling so he calls out to Jetty and tell her who he is and her friend was mated and that Grizzy Cove wanted to offer her people sanctuary from the evil in the sea.

I enjoy Bianca D'Arc and have done for many years, so as soon as I see that she is releasing a new book. I one click as soon as the links become available. Earliest Catch is the 6th book in her Grizzly Cove series and each book gets better and better, even though you can read each book as a stand alone you are missing out. In Bearliest Catch we meet Jetty and Drew, a water shifter and land shifter make for an interesting mix but it works so well for this couple. Bianca has created a world full of magic and shifters and packs it full with action, good vs evil, nasty bad creatures while giving our bears a chance at their true mates. The Goddess sure likes to work in mysterious ways. You can't go wrong when picking up any of the books from the Grizzly Cover series.

I was given a free copy for an honest review. Shifter's congregating in place is a big draw for evil, The Bear Shifter community has taken to protecting anyone serving the Light. When the Mer shifters are in need of safe harbor, Jetty a Mer seeks out the help of Drew a sexy, bad ass special ops bear shifter. They connect instantly, Jetty feeling safe in Drew's shield and Drew's feelings of protectiveness come out.

What do I think about this one.
This series lost its charmed a while back, just for me. Still, I can't stop myself, there is something about this series that keep you reading, that something is the mystery.
It was still sweet and short but I just don't really mind that (not to say "lost interest")
But, the next one seemed to be a little bit more interesting in the way the author described the characters, a bit of a heat. I hope that it would come to some white grizzly and a mer.

This series is getting deep! In addition to the original bears, the last installment introduced witches and a previous one vampires. This installment escalated the presence of mer people. Jetty and Drew are the latest couple in Grizzly Cove. Her ability to heal his soul, along with his ability to shield and sense danger make them assets to the Cove.

Romantic, Adventurous and a bit Steamy.

I loved the play of emotions between both of them as well as their past relationships. The way they kept comparing the past with the present and hoping for a future.
It satisfied the romantic in me! I can't wait for the next book.
