Danica’s life used to be perfect. Until her father decided to take his own life.
Since then, she’s been struggling. A lot. Not only emotionally, but also financially. With a mother stuck in the past and refusing to adapt to this new reality, Danica had to grow up fast to support both of them.
But a job as a waitress in a diner isn’t going to take them very far and she knows it.
Xander is the CEO of a real estate empire, but despite his title, his father is still the man in power.
After a heated argument with the old man over a new project, Xander drives home when a gorgeous woman collapses on the sidewalk and gets robbed.
Like a modern day knight coming along to save a damsel in distress, he rescues her.
Within seconds, Danica and Xander will experience something they never felt before, lighting a fire that will consume them passionately.
Until she realizes who he really is.
NOTE: this is the first book in the series. For a mature audience only.
L.N. Pearl is the author of The Dark Billionaire series, and would love to add "is a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author"... but decided not to, out of modesty.
L.N. loves billionaires' sexy stories because it makes life so much more convenient (Why being stuck in traffic when you can simply take a helicopter? Duh!) and also more exciting!
Spoiler Ahead This was a short quick read that I liked. Xander is the CEO of his fathers company. After having an argument with his father he is driving home when he sees a woman collapsed and she is getting robbed so he stops to help her. Danica has had a hard life she is working two jobs to take care of her and her mother after her father committed suicide. This was a pretty good read I liked both of these characters and they had a lot of chemistry. This was my first time reading this author. This book did have a few errors in it and it left off on a cliffhanger. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
A freebie but as with other books by this author it's way too short in the hope you'll keep buying the other books. Probably would have been a decent story but can't be bothered with mini books that don't allow me to dive in to the story and stay there.
This book was hard to read! The "whiney" writing and the constant "poor me" attitude was unbearable. I managed to finish, while skimming through, and the ending leading to the next book was no surprise at all. Not a fan
Unfortunately, the writing wasn't good and the cover was misleading. This felt like the beginning of a story--intro and then one plot point after that--but then ended on a cliffhanger. It's a preface to something else.
Cliffhanging! This book is the the start of a series that has me intrigued already. I want to know what happens next for Danica and Xander. I want to know if their truth's will keep them apart.
A CEO Xander has different views of how the company should be ran, he actually cares about the people. He helps Danica, who collapsed on sidewalk. It's an instant spark. But even though the kissing is hot poor Danika gets some shocking news. Will she choose to work with him.
Not bad but the editing is terrible. Each sentence was its own paragraph, even if it was only 4 words long. Very frustrating!!! I would like to read the rest, but not if all the editing is the same way. Very unorganized and confusing trying to figure out who is saying what.
Danica has had a hard life. Her father committing suicide, and her having to take care of herself and her mother by working two jobs. Xander is the CEO of his fathers company. When they meet it is under very uncommon circumstances. The ending of the book floored me and now I have got to read book two, because it left me wanting to find out more.
Nothing new to see here folks, move along!! It was well enough done. Pretty good writing - rich alpha male, damsel in distress, instalust (like this was only 78 pages, but she had a crush on him after having spent 10 minutes in his presence), forbiddeny circumstances (he's going to be her new boss), and a little plot twist that's supposed to make you go "OH NO", but my eyes rolled so hard I spent 20 minutes looking around the room for them to put them back in my head. I don't think I'll be continuing on in the series.
